Which cyoa lets me kill the christian God?
>>
>>47675023
I'm baffled by the idea that they thought the Hulder wife's disadvantage was in any way comparable to any of the others.

>Philosopher's Stone: You will probably poison yourself and never figure out how it actually works.
>Excalibur: Everyone ever will come to you to solve the problems that they got themselves into.
>Firebird: Immortal unwoundable unstoppable wolf is coming for the bird, and will kill you if you get in its way.
>Ring of Solomon: The demons *will* outwit you, and their wrath will be terrible.
>Thoth's Book: Raise the dead by sacrificing body parts. Then either spend all of the money forever, watch them become cannibal vampires, or they die again.
>Chariot of the Gods: Broken, cannot be fixed, and will give you cancer. Also, the Reptilian Conspiracy and all their minions are after you.

>Hulder Wife: Will break your arms and legs and disappear if you attack her or cheat. Also has a tail.
>>
>>47675319
>Maria
Subtle.
>>
>>47675350
>I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of fedoras suddenly tipped in unison, and were suddenly returned. I fear something terrible has happened.
>>
>>47675383
That doesn't surprise me: with how popular cheating and NTR are around here, a waifu that demands monogamy could be considered garbage. Worse, she also demands we get a job and is unwilling to provide for us. Useless.

No, getting him to permanently abdicate to you of his own free will would be way cooler. That, and there are a million cooler omnipotent and omniscient creators to play off of.

>>47675289
honestly, I was mostly sorting through things of my 'one-pagers' that I thought might still be 'up-to-date'.

>>47675350
>>47675424
Can't help you there.

Closest was that I had an idea for a "relive your life CYOA" where gods of different pantheons would be with certain boons if you worked towards converting people and working towards their agendas in your new life. I suppose you could then take followers away from YWHW.

Unfortunately, I haven't really worked towards completing it.

Currently picking at an idea for a Vigilante CYOA though, here's a sample of the options I've thought of so far. I was thinking stuff like the utilities, weapons, etc. would cost money but other things would just be a "pick one" or "pick two".

Any suggestions on additional options?
>>
>>47675319
which one of these is the mecha pilot? Am I blind, hibiki-san?
>>
>>47675111
>Purpose
Fugitive
>Skills
Enchantment
Alchemy
>Monsters
Goblin
Orc
Kitsune
>Perks
Dungeoneering
Reinforcements (free)
Leadership
>Bonus Trap & Minion types
Arrow Trap
Trapped Chests
Ninjas
Golem Defenders

I can brew up poisons and bombs to improve all my traps, vastly buff the weapons of my minions, will be beat into shape by the Orc princess so I can fight myself, and have a very diverse set of forces that should allow me to adapt to nearly any foe.

Plus the shrines and my leadership skills, plus my princesses all being low maintenance, should make keeping everyone loyal pretty easy.
>>
>>47675482
>"relive your life CYOA" where gods of different pantheons would be with certain boons
uuuuh
>have to actively convert people
less cool. I'm a fan of 7Sins way of passively doing things the Devil like just from using your powers.

I'm currently working with an idea, but i'm not sure where to go.
On one hand, I'd like to turn it into something similar to Dark City, but it would be too close.
On the other I'd like to include a backstory for your character and being able to pick your age (so if you're older, people will believe you did things based on your picks)

But on the third hand I also feel like a simple cyoa where you get three of X powers, and each power gets a specialization, like
>New body
One specialization would be genderbend, one charisma and looks bonus, one superhuman strength etc.
So focus on customization and choice.

Don't really have anything solid, though

>>
>>47675561
oh, that chick /is/ the pilot companion.
my bad, I never bothered with reading that because I thought it was lore stuff or something, and wanted to wait till this was complete to read more on that. Mistake noted, but will say her perks and downsides are not listed like the others.

For the replacing shooting weapons for melee, do I need to sacrifice both my primary and secondary weapon, like a superweapon, or is that "and" supposed to be an "or"? My last build did not replace both of them, I only replaced my secondary, but it also did not get any comments telling me my build was incorrect. Should I replace both shooting weapons in future builds?
>>
>>47675612
you can replace both or only one

Trying to remember my Dark build now. It was something about flying out at night on dragonback to hunt for beautiful boys to drain dry. I was a princess very much in touch with vampirism's underlying metaphors.

Oh, the terror in which the peasants of my realm do live. The dread of your village being descended upon at night by the awful sorceress with her impure intentions. Of seeing your beautiful sons dragged away by her ghastly minions, and praying to whatever gods you might still hope exist that the boys' bodies will be found dead and drained - meaning that I have not taken them away to the city to be my pets, to enter lives of delicious corruption and obscene depravity...

>>47676267
Most monstergirls have superhuman strength and/or magical powers. Even when they're submissive they're still technically capable of bending you like a pretzel. So in a way they're just humouring you. I for one prefer to be the dominant and stronger partner in a relationship.

That's why I'd enjoy being turned into a dragonboy and preying on cute bunnygirls more than having a "submissive" dragongirl waifu.

It also feels pretty shitty that in a dangerous situation I'd be incapable to protect my waifu.

I mean monstergirls are just supposed to replace the generic monsters in a dragonquest-like setting. What are the monsterboys replacing? Where do they come from?

Why can't I be a dragon MAN, dammit?
Besides how surprisingly hard to find good pictures of that is?

>>47676337
>do you believe monsters are an all-female race?
I thought that was kind of the point of a lot of the settings/media...
Otherwise why are they interested in human males?
>>
>>47676337
Monsters are an all-monster category.
Replace monsters with girls, which is the whole point, the sprites of the monsters are replaced with cute girl drawings, you get an all-female roster.
>>
>>47676356
I used dragonBOY as a counterpart to dragonGIRL, but yes the idea would be to become a dragonMAN.

>>47676368
I'd assume most aren't interested in human males, just like most humans aren't interested in monstergirls. Some would like human males for exoticness, or it might just be a fetish.

You can try to insert some internal logic into the setting but not at the expense of the entire point of the concept.
Often monstergirls require human men to reproduce but can only produce more monstergirls, meaning that to survive human settlements need to exclude and hate monstergirls and monstergirl lineages need to forcibly trap or conquer their men. Which is why you're trying to fight off these cute girls in the first place.

I remember having a nice dream after doing this CYOA, so I'll try to recreate it with the CYOA
>Recruiter (8)
>Tier 1 shapeshifting (free)
>Succubus sister (5)
Basically, Succubus grow from hatched to ~14 in a month, and from ~14 to ~18 in three months or so. Then they age normally to sometime in their early twenties. So my sister would be a lot older than me at the time, and she'd be a grade or two above me.
>Succubus drain
I'd prefer it to say the target also feels good.
>Skin
Forced to use shapeshift
>Horn
Same. I'll live without the powers.
>Tail
That's cute.
>Mannerisms
>Shapeshift 2 (4)
>Shapeshift 3 (3)
So I get the telepathy of the horns without needing them, and I *can* control the tail should I need to.
nothing really appeals, so I guess
>Conjuration 1 (1)
>Tongue (0)
May as well have aphrodisiacs, even if it needs mouth-to-mouth contact.

I've been toying with making a fan-expansion to this, but it would be more slice of life-y, about being a young succubus.
Either have one setting, urban fantasy, or let you pick multiple - using only one setting might be easier for me, since I can focus only on things that make sense for it.
I'm especially not a fan of being forced into one of these jobs. Makes me feel like a worthless whore, and everything prior to the job is pointless - why would I want shapeshifting so I can deal with being raped by everything, and not pick it because it would be fun?

>Chest of Gold (1L)
>Secret Hideout (2L)
>Corin Thenhall (4L)
>The Mask of Marks (6L)
A secret hideout, plenty of gold to finance some plans of my own, a band of mercenaries to hire and an assassin at my disposal.

>No drawbacks (those are ridiculous and I don't want to die when my charge dies, fuck that)

I will basically found the Dark Brotherhood in Yaserla. I have enough personal power that I am untouchable to an extent and can hold my own, but my real power is my extensive network of spies and assassins.

I plan to stay loyal to the Crown, but perhaps fate will make it so that I will turn against them. That is to be seen.

It's based on something that actually happened to me on Sunday.
>>
>>47676495
>the virgin demands a dragon sacrifice
>>
>>47677464
I vaguely remember reading a comic about a young half-succubus who had trouble fitting in at school. She could see when people had lustful thoughts amongst other abilities and was determined not to become a stereotypical succubus. Eventually she gets tired of being the bullied nerdy girl and goes full succubus anyway and gets a popular bf to the delight of her succubus mom. It was pretty interesting to see her balance both parts of her lives. The existence of things like succubi was no known to the world btw.

Anyway, I remembered that and it might be an interesting premise for a high school succubus cyoa.

"You're in school now" is an easy setting, that lets you develop the character. I don't want to force you into a job in the way that cyoa did, I want it to be about becoming used to your new life and enjoying things.
High school gives an easy reason why you have to pick between companions, and otherwise, all the options I can think of right now would be

>decide your powers
>decide your mom/siblings
>something

>You're in a situation you might not be happy with, but that's life. Get the best out of it

Yeah, I think the girl wanted to become a doctor or something. She mostly didn't want to be a ditzy maneater like her mom I think. She got bullied a lot until she used her lust inducing powers on one of the popular guys so he would become her bf and protect her from the other guys. Then things spiraling out of control, and she started making friends and even fell in love with the guy she had under her spell. It had a pretty happy ending I think though: she learned to accept her half-succubus nature, stopped being a wallflower and went to med-school with her bf or something.

I'd like something new. Or maybe just, not focus on the school, just say it's a thing that has to be done.
Not focus on classes and clubs, but focus on the city around you. I've been thinking a lot of that Dark City CYOA, and how well it made me think of how the setting worked.

Lotta people to reply to, so I'll just say this:

This isn't a No True Scotsman that we're pulling here, with regards to the Trinity. Being a Christian actually has a definition, part of which is believing in certain things. One of those things is the Trinity. To say that a nontrinitarian is a Christian is like saying that you can be a Mahometan while believing that there are gods other than Allah and that Mahomet is not Allah's prophet. It just doesn't work, because the Shahada is the most basic belief of the Mahometans. Likewise, the most basic definition of a Christian is a person who believes in the Nicene Creed, which delineates the doctrine of the Trinity.

Sorry about the rant.

>You can't add sarcasm on top of idioms, that's not fair.
I don't think hyperbole (using words that express a greater amount of something where a not-as-great amount is implied) counts as sarcasm (using words that express one thing and implying that the opposite is meant). But it's okay, no one person knows everything and there's always more to learn.

Also I'm pretty sure limiting the inclusions to what you can personally manage is more constructive than literally adding almost all fantasy races and such to the CYOA regardless of whether they matter.

Being a Christian actually does have a definition, but there is no pan-Christian body to reconcile all of the different creeds and say which beliefs are pan-Christian and which are schismatic.

The Trinity is a specific concept with a strong historical presence in Christianity, but so is the Pope, and not accepting his leadership doesn't disqualify you as a Christian.

Defining a non-cohesive group as "all the people who believe whatever things that members of the group believe" is logically a dead end because of the circularity of the proposition.

In the end, we are left with Christian referring to Christ, making Him the central element in group membership. Not specific Catholic Mysteries about Him, not whether he was actually on the road to Capernaum or not, not whether the stone in front of his tomb was granite or bezoar, and certainly not the Trinity.

There are plenty of ways of believing something is divine without proscribing to a Trinity system, which is a very specific set of beliefs outlining the exact nature of Christ's divinity and his relationship with the Father.

Dude you actually mention tags, the main search method.

>Tagging systems are unreliable and subjective.
Not too subjective to be really, really useful. The entire modern discipline of google-fu is predicated on finding the right search terms to get you into that sweet spot of search results, whether or not the search terms are technically the best descriptor for what you are seeking. Tags can include the author, the genre, the series it's from, any canon it draws from, etc.

If some people think a CYOA is sci-fi and others don't (subjectivity), that's ok. The people who are looking for sci-fi will still find it under that tag while people who hate sci-fi can filter for that tag. If you're so triggered by "this isn't REALLY sci-fi!" then you move to a more specific tag, for example "hard sci-fi".

If your specific taste is so fucking hard to structurally categorize that almost no one agrees with you, then you're out of luck, but then that will be true of any archive you might try to use.

But beyond that the early Christians prior to the Gregorian reform were very fond of all kinds of sacrifices, the modern Catholic church is more akin to a organized criminal association, its been controlled by banking groups and theives since well before the 9th century, but go ahead and keep believing that your alms are going to a charity besides the ruling class of a tax-free walled county in the middle of Italy, which has a nice little gift shop.

>>
>>47675091

I feel like writing something for this. Going with Psionic child choice.

Day 5:

Or at least its the 5th 24 hour period. No matter what the moon in the sky doesn't seem to move or change. Most of the radio stations are dead now. I have to assume that the same happened for TV stations. Haven't had power since the first 'day?' anyway. The only signal I can still get is on AM, and is too weak to make out properly. I'm guessing I'm out of range, or maybe they're just broadcasting static. Dead and left the radio running.

I've just about given up on the rest of my family. They were all in the city when the moon rose and from what the TV stations said, the cities were the worst. More people attracted more monsters it seemed. So at home it's just me, my dogs, and that looming celestial object. At least the creatures seemed to ignore animals. Things are looking worse and worse though. I emptied the gun my father kept in the safe on the first creature I saw. The second I was fortunate enough to see it before it saw me and I smashed its head in with a cast iron skillet, guessing I got lucky there.

To top it all off I feel like I've been getting smaller every day. I've looked in the mirror and I look like a kid again. My clothes don't fit right anymore. I've been getting by by wearing sandals, shorts with a belt, and cutting up my shirts so they don't hang to my knees but just how far is this going to go?

I've got to do something though. I've only got enough dog food for another week or two. Same with canned food. Everything else has pretty much spoiled or will be in a few days. Thankfully I remembered to fill the bathtubs with water and as many bottles as I could while the power was still going, so water will probably last longer than the food issue. There's a village not too far from here. Maybe I'll have to go scavenging. I'm not sure I could drive a car anymore and who knows what the noise will attract.

>Continue?
>>
>>47680244
>Atheism is the word you use for the lack of an opinion or idea on theism.

Isn't that what agnosticism is?
>>
>>47680051
You can kill in the name of demons without actually being one. That's kind of the point of killing in the name of things.

Can you imagine if you actually had to be the King in order to command in the name of the King? If you can't delegate, you can't rule. If you can't tie all delegated authority to your own, you're not a ruler.
>>
>>47680172
The lack of a thing, is also a thing. A hole, for instance. Or Death.
>>
>>47680280
Agnosticism refers to a lack of certainty, atheism refers to a lack of belief. Atheists and theists can both be either gnostic (certain) or agnostic (uncertain).
>>
>>47680280
No, agnosticism is the belief that you don't have enough information to form an opinion on theism.

>>47680283
>>47680305
The concept of atheism, strictly speaking, is incompatible with doing anything in its name. Doing anything under its "banner" is automatically not atheistic, because it is basing decisions on theistic issues.
>>
>>47680305
Not really. Death is a lack of animacy/sentience. You could call the transition an event, but it is not a thing in itself. Likewise, calling a hole a thing, separate from the rest of the negative space it is apart of, is imaginary and misleading. What you call a hole is actually the object itself taking a different shape. You are confusing objective things with human/social constructs.
>>
>>47680244
>Disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods.
Straight from a dictionary. You can kill because of this idea, same as any other. Nowhere does it say "except when you start hating religion".
>>
>>47680401
Exactly, Death, the lack of a thing, is a thing. People have worshiped and killed in the name of death. You can personify anything.

>imaginary and misleading
I thought it was clear we were already talking about theism. Seriously though, social constructs are things.
>>
>>47680441
>Antitheism (sometimes anti-theism) is active opposition to theism. The term has had a range of applications. In secular contexts, it typically refers to direct opposition to organized religion or to the belief in any deity, while in a theistic context it sometimes refers to opposition to a specific god or gods.
This is what you're conflating it with. If you'll research the word a bit further you'll see that the core principle of atheism is a lack of belief in theistic things, and that's it.
>>
>>47680493
A personification of something that doesn't exist doesn't magically make that thing start existing.
>>
>>47680359
Atheism has a range of meaning, from the loose "doesn't believe in a god or gods" to "actively rejects the existence of a particular god or gods" to the most extreme position of "believes that there are no god or gods".
>>
>>47680493
>Aside from the active event of life ceasing, how does death manifest itself outside of that? It doesn't. Therefore it's not a thing, it's a concept. Social constructs are not things, much like how we used to think there was magic, but then we realized there was no such thing.
>>
>>47680514
No, but the personification exists and has the same name.

The real issue here is that all things are defined by the presence of some things and the lack of others. We need to be able to refer to specific lacks and absences.

Are you confusing corporeal existence with other kinds? Ideas exist, if not as physical objects, and ideas about the lack of things exist too.

When you kill in the name of something, you are killing for a concept, an ideal, and not merely for the objective phenomena.

Just as you can kill in the name of a God that doesn't necessarily exist, you can kill in the name of imaginary things like concepts.
>>
>>47680534
That's what I've always known it as.
>>
>>47680602
If your actions are driven by theistic concepts then they aren't atheistic in nature, no matter what deluded idea you're operating under.
>>
>>47680672
Atheism is a stance on theism.
>>
>>47680811
No, it's the lack of a stance on theism.
>>
>>47680859
If you disbelieve a proposition, your stance on that proposition is negative.
>>
>>47680926
If you lack belief either way, then your stance can be neither negative nor positive.
>>
>>47680972
As covered above, outright rejection of theist beliefs falls well within atheism.
>>
>>47681010
As covered above, under the strictest definitions it does not.
>>
>>47681032
Those are probably not the definitions being used when someone states that you can kill in the name of atheism, then.
>>
>>47681094
It's disingenuous to bring such definitions into a discussion which already split the concepts under two different and more accurate words.
>>
>>47681171
If you can do it at all, then it can be done. It's not disingenuous to use a common existing definition of a word, and the existence of a separate word that is related but no exactly equivalent doesn't change that.
>>
>>47681314
It is when the discussion has been going on under such terms before you brought your different use into it.

You can muddy up pretty much any discussion by strategically using different definitions without making it clear what you're trying to say. If you think it's funny or something.
>>
>>47681377
It's not my different use, it's the general use. Additionally, it was brought in to the discussion at the point where it was claimed you could kill in the name of atheism, which is that stance being discussed and therefore arguably the beginning of the discussion.

Again, it's not strategic, and I'm being clear now. If you agree with my position, say so and drop it. If you want to waste posts criticizing or complaining about what you consider to be my poor discussion etiquette, expect to be ignored.
