Last time on Maticico corporation remnant our attempts to lay mines went(very) poorly. While we became ground 0 for a zombie super horde the likes of which wasn't seen since the Fall and a coalition of powers united to fight them. Leaving our homeground utterly devastated but now quite rich in psi materials. Meanwhile an 'utterly' insane AI was acquired and we offered up a base devoted to itself.

In exchange it has promised to prepare a hero unit for us and 'upgraded' some of our units. In addition our forces looked into the fallen bandit city only to find out out a horrifying secret that will shake the lands around us and possibly even far beyond. Hopefully we can survive what is coming or even take advantage...

So yeah lot has happened.

Also I think we should develop Plasma Splash Shells Shells loaded with highly reactive chemicals that combust into plasma when exposed to air, thus allowing for faster transport that avoids the energy lost during the 'bloom' effect.

The players are getting better at playing to the megacorp remnants strength(which is how you stay alive and more importantly win).

So far the players have Paramilitary mastery and they are making good progress on the megacorp remnant.

Be warned mastery will drastically effect a civ type replay.

I can't WAIT till you guys attain mastery over an entire cluster. To bad the only progress made is the remnants one. Not even close on the surviving or frowned upon yet.

Manufacturing complete. True to their word the LIghters brought forth shields and when they saw our superb patterned plasma weaponry they got excited and brought out their 'elite' shield pattern.

The lighter shields is odd piece of tech that according to our psi wielders has some kind of special and peculiar augmentation. The shoulds would appear to be flickering with light both providing side benefits AND making it possible for 'stealth' to be attained!

According to the lighters the 'common' version doesn't have the stealth ability and its side benefits are also weaker. Apparently us using the superior plasma tech we possess made them willing to offer their own superior tech as well.

Meanwhile the survivors true to their world gave us resources in exchange for the goods they requested. They have also made the option available for scavenged pieces of tech they tend to acquire quite regularly. Where other factions have to go out their way to scavenge particular techs the survivors comes naturally to them as acquiring supplies is often enough both at the same time.

The survivors stated that if we could provide them with good weapons, armor, and munitions they will make it a priority to scavenge corp and manufacturing advanced tech.

Well, currently we'll be locked inside our base for Monster Mayhem for about 7 turns, so no going outside.

This does however give us the opportunity to perform some research on the continuing Super Artillery Project

in addition, we are also converting a nearby former Bandit Cite, now recently discovered as a Black Site prison from Pre-Fall times, into our own secondary base under AI JAL. We can devote some actions that way to finish it up as well.

Plus any other fun stuff that strikes our fancy. Beyond the Super Artillery Project we can also improve our tank designs among any other suggestions.

We are the Megacorp Tower in blue.
Our allies, BANE, have a defensive outpost south of us that was recently ransacked but they are rebuilding.
To our east is Artillery Mountain, so named because of the Artillery Bandits that set up base there. We tried to make them our allies for their superior artillery tech but failed. Then they got taken over and we, ah, became vassals of their inheritor (Willingly I might add) in the hopes that we could get Artillery mountain.

Except zombies booted them out, then some crazy shit involving JAL and Bane happened and we were able to drive them back but a psi-storm oepend up on Arty mountain. I'm not sure what'sgoing on with it right now.

To our very south is our newest base, the old Preemo facility which was once a bandit city and our allies until the great Coalition came and wiped them out. Then we took it over and found out they were actually squatting on a hidden Pre-fall super prison that was about to fail since the Super Villains inside were trying to dig their way out.

We decided to make a deal with them to open up the prison in exchange they would show us favor and wouldnt' harm us.

That's where we are right now.

Last we heard the slaver outpost was turned into a "smoking crater", which by the way has the local intelligent Ghoul populace annoyed and hungered because it was a key source of human slaves = food.

Luckily we've got a smallfoothold in the Ghoulish community because Bane is allies with some of them (as well as some smart zombies) and we've sold them breeded Food Monsters that imitate human flesh.

Probably tastes about as good as Soy Meat to New York Strip but hey when you're hungry you're hungry.

I am of the opinion we should attempt to expand our population support network. I.e more food, water and meds so that after the Monster mayhem we can just start growing rapidly.

I also feel we should attempt to create more construction equipment in our capital along with massive underground expansions. Filled with the gear needed to make generic medical drugs; painkillers, disinfectants and combat stimulants. All of that can easily be sold to the para-mils, the survivors and anyone else.

Lastly I feel we should prepare as many defences at both our bases as we can because that can only help us in future. Followed by a rapid expansion of our armed forces.

Focusing on the Super Artillery Project and superior tank designs should be our primary form of defense, with actuall defensive measures as supplements.

Once we have the Super Artillery Mini-factory auto-loaders, we can apply them to guns big and small as superior forms of static defense, on top of being able to load them onto tanks.

Once we have our own standing military, we should be able to expand freely.

We can continue to invest in the Food Monster ecosystem we are growing in the Black Site prison cells for more foodmonsters and water slimes, as for medicine we can have the CEO make additional deals with nearby factions. Possibly for methods we as a corps can replicate and produce en masse.

Each tank will be able to fire with the ability to constantly reload at a sustained rate. A single tank will be able to suppress an area with endless wave after wave of explosive round.

Altneratively with its rates of fire it can unload multipel shells in rapid fire using the Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact method, upping its firepower by four or even five times.

We can then apply some Psi-tech and integration to our tanks to give them better sensors and communication, allowing one tank to act as a guide beacon for any other tanks within artillery range.

The monsters erupted from everywhere in mass. Soon they started to fight one another and clashed heavily against the ghouls who were feeding upon the zombie dead.

So far they haven't seemed interested in climbing our mountain to reach the tower. Even the flyers are more interested in the carrion field down below.

Seeing that the survivors will look for tech for us. I would say to get those auto loaders quicker we should supply them after the monsters are dealt with. Corp tech we don't have researched yet could speed up production.

Sarah and Mindy both ran away screaming from JAL's base only Ginny had the ovaries to stay. According to them all JAL's base...is like a horror lair made of unholy amalgamation of metal and meat. Some of which is oddly fused together somehow rusted even the flesh somehow 'rusts'. Meanwhile its more then just meat down there appears to be plant and mushroom matter as well. As well as all kinds of twisted metals and somehow even tarnished gold.

The prison complex meanwhile has been used as a 'storage' by JAL to store his experiments or other materials. Further down meanwhile they saw what appeared to be JAL's attempts at copying our industrial facilities but somehow corrupted. Twisted partly bio matter infested corrupted mockeries that spew forth corrupted products or at best rampant ones.

Another part was revealed to at first to be a mutant lair(which its disguised as) but in truth harbors a brood nest. One that is somehow of all things 'corrupted'. Normally its brood who corrupts...but somehow this was turned against them. That nest was obviously corrupted and not only that but it was also INFESTED!

With METAL.

Somehow the Brood had its strengths used against it and was forcefully fused together with metal other pieces of tech. Somehow. JAL bypassed the Brood tech interface problem. Thereby creating a corrupted mockery of both.

Nearby a glittering palace was found. Supposedly here our personnel is housed and JAL acquired psi materials fused together with meat and metal to create this 'palace'. Somehow JAL managed to figure out how to make it psi even before harvesting psi materials which he is quite proud of.

Finally at the heart of JAL's 'complex' is a Corrupted Core where madness is so powerful it literally warps reality. Thereby resulting in a place of brilliant chaos. According to MAL this is where he is housed and its effects is breaking reality.

Well there went the mini fab problem.

We finally attained the desperately needed breakthrough for the auto ammo assembly and reloading work done.With that problem it was a simple matter to design massive guns and missile pad designs. Mindy even figured out how to upgrade the control unit to allow someone to 'pilot' what is being fired. Allowing more then simple auto guidance systems. Now are shots can at times be more akin to a suicide drone. Especially the missiles.

Now our artillery pieces have some serious resemblance to their Pre Fall counterparts. The only problem is how resource intensive the tech is. The auto assembly isn't by any means a cheap tech especially with the required heavy duty design it has to use post fall resources instead of Pre Fall material blocks.

Still we can now use garbage and scrap to reload should it ever prove to be necessary.

Technically their primary is psi with secondary plasma. Psions get a bonus to their usage while others take a penalty.

If you go Plasma heavy is strongly suggested you go through the trouble to construct a Plasma Pump. While SUPER energy intensive plasma pumps ensure that with enough feed stock and energy you'll never run out of plasma.

Plasma kicks ass its quite literally like having the Power of the Stars in your hands! TM.

Naturally its no real surprise that plasma rapes everything that isn't shielded. Shielded targets plasma has a hard time dealing with and the less advanced plasma weapons tend to have piss poor range as well as great environmental impact.

Until someone figured out how to encapsulate the plasma both massively extending its range and making the side effects practically negligible. Without such an upgrade plasma weaponry was generally unpopular especially given how effect shields are against it.

That is if we are talking hot plasma. Cold plasma(which can theoretically exist) in turn is wildly popular in shielding components.

Cold plasma shielding is ironically the most plasma resistant shield out there. Even electric plas(infamous for its anti shielding capability was as generally wrecking electronics) loses its effectiveness against it.

Just watch out for plasma if you aren't shielded for it because plasma will rape through most materials out there. Seriously though the shit is fucking evil and the weaker electric version can also have some quite deliberating effects in exchange for losing out on sheer destructive capability that its hotter brethren possesses.

Plasma is tricky to manufacture and the places specializing in its manufacturing is generally required to be rich in fusion tech. If you want a plasma pump your going to NEED a Fusion Reactor to hook up to it. The two create a cycle when feed stock is introduced to them both to churn out plasma in mass.

Unfortunately Cold Plasma is a bitch to make in comparison. Cold Plasma requires a special apparatus attached(basically an augmented) plasma pump and a fusion reactor. Relying on the augmented plasma pump one can create cold plasma. There is also a few other ways to do so as well usually involving exotic matter to make work.

Electric plasma is obviously the easiest one to acquire.

Magnetic weaponry also tends to have some interesting plasma requirements.

Jacky ordered us to churn out some plasma tech and power armor in mass. As for the new psi plas weaponry ordered only enough to equip their Psycho Soldiers with who apparently can use it terrifyingly well.

Okay Jacky, we have our special weapons project ready but there's several ways we could go about expansion and we need your advice.

One plan we have is to first construct the Super Artillery atop our main tower, then use it as a means to hold our additional expansions and build bases elsewhere. Possibly starting with Arty Mountain.

Kind of.

Turned out some dumb ass accidenantly sent the construction request to their auto fab units instead of our own facilities. Somehow this didn't only fry the auto fabs but they LITERALLY built themselves up from scratch. auto building and Assembling themselves.

So no idea how that happened tho perhaps JAL had been involved?

Well anyway we successfully built our artillery pieces and missile systems ALL OF THEM i may add by complete accident that didn't even require us to actually build them!

How awesome is that?

Now if only we could figure out how the hell that happened it would be perfect.

After this we will begin a immediate program of expansion, both under and above ground, with the goal of supporting a larger population and securing the surrounding area for our own use.

To this end, I feel we must begin creation of mobile trucks (equipped with either drilling equipment, communications systems, support facilities, etc), cranes and such to allow for creation of many small expansion in the surrounding area.

The purposes of these small fortifications is to allow us to openly colonise the surface securely by extending our AA and artillery networks. To allow us to take in as many migrants as we wish and not strain our resources or space. It would also mean we could set-up additional factory facilities. The idea behind the outposts is a large concrete tower, with cannons (AA or otherwise) on the roof surrounded by pillboxes connected from below ground. The entire place being a interconnected fort around (or under) which we could build.


As to tanks we just need something cheap to make, easy to use and deadly. It can be as simplistic as a modernised T-34 or T-70 (maybe use robots instead of humans eliminating small crew space problems?).

It took awhile but we soon installed the fusion reactor and soon enough the plasma pump rumbled with life. Suddenly we had LOTS of plasma started to flow and with that bane requested MASSIVE amounts of plasma tech.

Including cold plasma shields which as it turns out thanks to the very expensive modifications we are capable of doing.

Action two...we found out that they were rapidly advancing and hit different factions. HARD.

Bane company came with their thousands of vehicles and flyers sweeping across destroying everything in their path with MASSIVE amounts of gunfire. If they couldn't break in with their vehicles they seemed satisfied with drowning you in bullets and bodies.

Turned out Bane Company has been doing a lot of recruiting for awhile now and they are unleashing the new guys to season them up to make em proper BANE soldiers. So they threw themselves at the factions, zombies, monsters, and really whatever else they could fine.

Maybe just maybe if the factions weren't so heavily depleted from all the reason hell they would of stood a chance. Now though...especially given the massive numbers, fleets, and bullets of BANE COMPANY they were crushing everything that got in their way.

Factions fell in great number.

Their peoples enslaved.

Their tech looted.

And their positions taken.

This however wasn't enough for BANE Company. For you see with those slaves and tech...they traded for more peculiar assets. The slaves especially went to pay off the ghouls who served as an auxiliary force for them while offering up fuel as well.

Bane Company wasn't the only bandit force moving but they were certainly the most powerful and unexpectedly the closest ones too.

The weaker ones likely fell in the previous chaos but now given how strained they are even the stronger factions are falling.

Truth be told seeing how our support helped their actions...it was rather sickening seeing Bane Company sweep through like hordes of locusts onto the crops.

Bane Company started bringing in some many slaves a new slaver base was founded to deal with them exclusively. The tech they harvested they either used themselves are traded it for assets they wanted. Bane Company did not stop and neither did the others were taking advantage of the chaos and weakness.

It ended up turning into a real horror show.

Bane Company seemed intent on hitting everybody and should they survive like boulders resisting a flood Bane Company simply flowed around but did not give up on the pressure. They had the bullets and bodies for it after all.

So Bane Company finally revealed their hidden might including some additional heroes they possess we didn't know about. Including a heroic pilot, rogue super soldier, a MAD Scientist, Evil Engineer, magical hero, and a Crazy.

A big part for why Bane Company was so successful compared to the others is simple.

They thought they had time because the close bandits were gone.

However bane wasn't and not only that they been building themselves up for a LONG time.

As if they were somehow waiting for this day...

Those bandit forces they shredded?

Their broken remnants served as excellent recruitment allowing bane to nab not only more troops but even heroes.

Those monsters and zombies?

With them out of the way its easier to safely mobilize and not only that but cheaper to pay off the ghouls as well as further weakening the factions.

Think about they had to deal with the bandit purge, super zombie horde, AND a monster mayhem one after another...even the strongest factions are exhausted and heavily depleted to boot.

So in truth it resulted in the perfect opportunity for BANE Company and one they been preparing for a long time...so they took out.

We are seeing the results. Bane Company is heavily supported by Ghoulish forces with a few mutant and robotic supporters as well they somehow picked up.

Armaments is naturally in such heavy demand like never before because EVERYBODY except for Bane Company is desperate. It allowed our CEO to acquire some stupidly lucrative deals providing armaments for the factions who were desperately trying to hold out.

Bane Company didn't even mind. After all they need to legitimize their new recruits and these constant bloodbaths is for that purpose. Meanwhile Bane Company is also channeling resources into our manufacturing churning out the goods to keep them working like a well greased war fucking machine.

They had so many resources they started to divert some more into the nearby bot forces thereby 'acquiring' their services. Meanwhile mutants from the nearby wasteland are also eager to get payback and stupidly large amounts of pay.

Thereby allowing Bane Company to draw those other forces beneath their banner...

Meanwhile the Lord of War is thinking he somehow died and went to heaven but knowing its not so because if it were he would be everywhere at once making deals...alas he is just one man.

By the way guys, I've done some thinking and I believe I have our first primary tank design.

I call it the "Maticico Boom Tank" or MBT-01.

It is a medium tank design which incorporates a SAMFAP high velocity shell into a turret capable of extreme angles of fire, allowing it to function both in the role of direct fire as well as indirect artillery fire as well as being able to target fliers and act as AA.

This gives it the role of:

In one vehicle.

Thanks to the SAMFAP feature it will be capable of rapid fire as well as being able to store and hold more ammunition in addition to being capable of direct reload by scrap metal or bulk resource either by its crew or by drone.

For immediate and close range defense against infantry it will be armed with either one or two Psi-Plaz machine guns or throwers.

The Medium Armor, while not heavy or thick to ensure cost effectiveness, can be supplemented by a Lighters Stealth Shield for the tank, providing it with additional defenses.

These tanks will be piloted by our psi individuals, who will implement the "Psionic Overwatch Integrated-Network Targeting" (POINT) which will be explained in a second picture.

I disagree with the concept of these tanks, as the ammo creators are very expensive. Rather I feel we should produce lines of dedicated support craft that preform those roles. This not only allows us to more cheaply produce tanks but to keep the production out of harms way.

It also links into my plan to make trucks for expansion, if each one produces a mix of parts needed or carries equipment then the bases can quickly become independent.

The "Psionic Overwatch Integrated-Network Targeting" or POINT will incorporate our psionic tank pilots (all of whom will naturally have to be psy sentive persons).

With such a system, any psy sensitive person or tank that engages or spots an enemy can instantly and telepathically transmit usable targeting info and data to any other MBT-01 within artillery range. Information on enemy type, altitude, longitude, latitude, and movement of the target will be transmitted in live time directly into both the mind and targeting computers of the allied tanks.

Automatically our pilots and tanks target the hostile and fire upon it from range, using the info given to select the type of shell the angles of fire. In addition they will be able to use their psionic powers to directly oversee and guide a shell as it falls for even more accuracy when needed, or simply fire as fast as possible if firepower is required.

All of this reduces precious time wasted having to transmit data to a central artillery command, calculation, and then retransmitting that data back to the artillery unit in question. Hmm, you may have a point there about the liability cost of the SAMFAP in individual tanks.

It does make sense to have have a dedicated SAMFAP system. Perhaps having a central SAMFAP recyler unit and then having fast carrier drones transport ammunition to the tank on the field?

I do think we should consider converting our existing Behemoths into the Boom Town artillery variety.

Those definitely it would be cost effective to arm with a SAMFAP system.

As to if I see any other problems, the Psi-Plas weapons have a penalty for all non-psi users (though psi users receive a bonus), thus we would need two versions; one for psi and one for ordinary troops.

I see no other major flaws but would point out though that since we have robots, we should look into automating certain roles in the tank, thus reducing the crew and allowing them to operate without rest more effectively.

We are getting a SHIT ton of resources!

Which means we can afford large and exuberant concrete and steel fortifications and walls for new expansions.

Let's build a grand Star Fort around our homeground. We will build 6 smaller fortresses in a ring around our homeground, in the shape of a star so that any section of the wall attacked is under the covering fire of another fort or wall. If any one fort falls, the other 5 plus our tower will be able to blast it.

This also means we will have more guns watching the skies for any flying monsters.

I'm wondering why we don't just look for a new base. The fort idea is nice, but the old super structures of pre fall hold better that what we can make. Also we will need to reinforce the ground and not just place walls if we keep to this plan.

Other worry is the fact that we are on a mountain. Not sure the star shape will work out the best. We should have Bane Company help us set up the expansion. They been building up our defense for a while. They will know good placement foe things. Maybe even spend some time refining or buy better build material and anti to help hold the place.

The reasons we are constructing these walls and bases are simple;

1) They give us a secure area around our tower that we control and can set up anything we want in (within reason).

2) It displays how powerful we are, turning an area into somewhere safe enough that, for a moment, you could imagine you were in the old world. This will also attract many people to join us.

As to your point of needing to reinforce the ground where we build the walls, we have to do that anyway thanks to the need for foundations on any wall over a few meters tall.

Then there is your point about about it not being suited to the area, I agree, we shouldn't do star-shape but rather we should just create a large round "wall" of towers.

These towers would contain the artillery or in and alternating pattern would contain AA. The pattern being two artillery then one AA all along the line.

These defences would be insufficient and thus are backed up by pillboxes (connected under ground), mine fields and various weapons, along with guards in and around the towers.

For transport to and from the towers, I suggest using a series of underground trains.

Perhaps we also consider not just walls and towers but the sides of the mountains themselves.

I was thinking we follow the Maginot strategy, multiple underground tunnel networks that link up defensive artillery positions all up and down the mountainside.

We could also use said tunnel networks as a means of additional underground security by constructing reinforced bulkheads and inside turrets.

To imagine what I want to construct, take the image of the Maginot line you have provided, add a tall wall to the top of the hill and imagine there are towers every so often on that wall. A railway heading to the right (back to the tower), having the defences slightly more crushed together so the left side is more of a extreme incline and lastly a larger anti air gun presence.


So yeah maginot line 2.0 (now with "Donalds wall" and towers of artillery.) is generally what we are going for.

New Action 1
Have JACKY and BANE perform an aerieal reconaissance of our homeground and surrounding area. We want them to map out and develop a plan for a ring of defensive positions, forts, all connected by a wall to protect our area and a railroad both above and below ground to quickly ferry troops and ammo.

Our goal is to create a surrounding barrier defensive networks, if possible using the nearby mountain ranges or canyons as a natural border, to create a large area of open ground for us to use and hold. Plains and fields to farm and build houses and structures on, forests and rivers and the likes. As much open ground as we can feasibly defend and create our own area to call ours.

Jacky and Bane know more about defenses than we ever will, so they'll know best, guaging by the strength of both ourselves and BANE. We would like to create a series of defenses along a mountain range consisting of interlocknig arcs of turret and artillery fire topped with a large concrete wall to ward of monsters and beasts.

The walls were not the problem it's the shape. Because of cliff we are on to what we were planning. Yet with this new thought/ action that's not a issue.

The problem is that according to Bane your terrority is splintered into a bunch of deep canyons and a distance away they turn into mountains. Meaning to create a wall you would have to block and then some because of the areas above them. the climate here is rather dry thanks to the mountains and things live in both the canyons above them and below them. Now claiming a bit of mountains is a different story bit of a pain in the ass still but easier then the current terrain.

The nice thing about canyons though is how easy it is to get lost in, the limited amount of deployment space, and the treasures they tend to reveal. This area may be heavily populated ensuring only the strongest can survive against them. The few zombies, bandits, and monsters out there are naturally especially nasty.

At least that was Bane's report.

I want to buy some stuff to help our health and morale. Yet with war upon everyone not us. I think the cost would be high.

So while the thread dies after hitting its' 300 post. Thoughts for actions would be just setup some spot near us for housing with reinforced ground and walls. To buy time till Bane Company says the new places are free to set up in.

Then research something or make beer, I guess.

Yes the ones will breed us a grand line of food and drink types. Soon all factions will like a "Pint for your life" event.

Running of the burgers will be a grant sight to be seen.

Once we can make a freeze ray or ice packs for the monster. Our ice cream float line with be a grand add-on to our menu.

Thinking though my luck for 1 rolls will wait till it's right. Yet a 100 on this mad man like creatures will be fun.

Something like researching micro food monsters for the home or take out menus. A mighty find breeding program will be fun. We could probably check the wilds for a breeder or monster tamer.

We want to develop Boom Tanks, tanks with the same firepower and capability as Long Range Artillery or Anti-Air heavy Flak guns. Each tank able to support each other despite being separated by distance or obstacles using telepathy to guide long range shots.

We're debating on the cost effectiveness of various designs.

We could focus on a medium tank that can be produced en masse and in greater numbers, allowing more of our population to become pilots and for us to field more tanks quickly and with fewer resources. It may also mean more firepower by number. We would have, like yourselves, waves of many tanks rolling toward the enemy. But this could mean more casualties.

Or we could focus on a Heavy Tank design. We'd be able to make less of them for more resources, but they would be sturdier, able to resist damage, and carry bigger guns and payloads and a heavier shield. Rather than having them come in waves, they would form teams of well formed breakthrough tanks supported by even heavier designs. We hope this might mean less casualties."

I am reminded of the Brood Bandit civ where we had a very hard time fighting back the enemy Corps Heavy Tanks, and only did so due to the ferocity of our Brood and allies.

For instance it has been shown that building a large defensive line is highly impractical in our current region if we wish to construct something like the maginot line.


However we could instead create a series of interconnected (via underground railways) bases (a tower with the AA and artillery cannons mounted on it, surrounded by other defences) in a circle around our tower.


However this means we lack a physical barrier to both monsters, zombies and conventional enemies. This dramatically reduces the security of the secured areas and increases the effort we would need to use to defend against assault.


Alternatively we could fill in the canyons and therefore solve this problem except that would require exceptional effort, time and resources. Not to mention we would need to make sure that we aren't blocking anything useful off or disturbing anyone's bases. The benefits of this plan are greater security for the secured area and less effort required to resist attacks.
