If this is true and it constitutes Wave 9 then I'm really disappointed. Disney shoving more of their shit cartoon down our throats, some weird timeline creep with the ARC-170 (a Republic starfighter) appearing as a Rebel ship, and the TIE/SF as a standalone which probably means that there won't be a First Order version of 'Heroes of the Resistance' (from which we can extrapolate that 'Heroes' really is what we're getting instead of 'Rebel Veterans' and so no E-Wing fix will be forthcoming).

So what can we see?
PS 3/4/6/7
Attack: ?
Defence: 1
Hull: 6
Shield: 3
Focus, Target Lock
EPT, Torpedo, Astromech, Crew

Interestingly, and if someone wants to CSI the image please correct me, it looks like there is no generic pilot card. Like the Attack Shuttle they're all unique.

Cost 33?

Cards I can see: Tail Gunner, Recon Specialist, R3 Astromech, Ventral Thrusters? Alliance Overhaul?

Interesting to note:
Auxiliary Firing Arc (no shocks there)
An evade token despite no natural evade.

PS 3/5/7/9
Attack: 2
Defence: 2
Hull: 3
Shield: 3
Focus, Target Lock, Barrel Roll
EPT, Turret (?), Missile, Tech

Two generics, two named (including a new PS9 ace).

Cost: 29

Cards: Special Ops Training, Sensor [Something] (Tech), Wired.

Interesting to note:
"Firing arc allows the ship to fire at two separate targets" - I assume that's what Special Ops Training does, allowing a shot from the front arc and rear arc.
>>
>>47571925
>Turret (?)

Might it be a crew slot?
>>
>>47571799
PS 1/3/5/6/7/9(!)
Attack: 3
Defence: 3
Hull: 4
Shield: 0
Focus, Target Lock, Barrel Roll, Boost
EPT, Ordnance(?)

Cost: 25(?)

Cards: Title?

Interesting to note:
A massive three generics and three unique pilots straight out of the box!
Somewhere on its dial it has a Tallon Roll, previously the sole domain of the T-70
>>
>>47571769
V-----
Thrusters?
Looks to be ship exclusive mod, probably a maneuverability action to the bar since it lacks one.
Torpedo of some sort
and what looks to be a title.

Tail Gunner has italicized text, probably Limited?
Someone familiar with the cartoons would probably have more luck with the pilot names.
>>
>>47571986

Anyone remember when PS9 used to be fucking rare?

That said this thing literally has nothing but Pilot Cards, so I guess it makes sense.
>>
>>47571812
This one is tricky. It's the lowest quality image.

PS 3/5/6/7
Attack: 2(?)
Defence: 2
Hull: 7(?)
Shield: 3
Focus, Target Lock, Evade, UNKNOWN
I can make out Illicit but that's it.

Cost: 38(?)

Cards: Some form of unique title. A new 'Action' card.

Interesting to note:
Comes with a new debris field
INTRODUCES A NEW ACTION. There is, without a doubt, some new kind of action unique to this ship on its action bar. I cannot read the rule card well enough to make it out, but it's there.

Total theory: Mobile Firing Arc - the action allows you to 'spin' your cardboard base insert, allowing you to switching the facing of your primary and auxiliary arc. Who's ready for some mufucking broadsides?
>>
>>47571925
>No Poe Dameron TIE/sf special pilot

>>47571812
Someone pointed out the arrow on the base of the ship's peg, and an unknown action on the action bar which may be to rotate the firing arc of the ship's guns. Damn scum getting all the fun toys!
>>

Meanwhile, as with all the ships in Wave IX, the ARC-170 rewards you for catching your foes within its firing arc, even if that arc is its auxiliary arc. Even though the ARC-170's primary weapon boasts an unmodified value of just "2," you can give it an Alliance Overhaul to boost its attacks from its primary firing arc by one die or to change one result to a whenever you perform an attack from its auxiliary firing arc.

Then, more importantly, the Special Forces TIE can equip the Special Ops Training Title for free. Like the Alliance Overhaul for the ARC-170, this upgrade allows you to add an attack die to any attack you make from your primary firing arc. On the other hand, if you choose to forsake the extra attack die, your Special Ops Training makes it possible for you to take shots from both your primary and auxiliary firing arcs in the same round.

To ensure that your squad benefits as much as possible from your Special Forces TIE and Special Ops Training, the Special Forces TIE Expansion Pack introduces four new pilots, including two unique aces, and five upgrades. Notably, since the Special Forces TIE features slots for both a systems and tech upgrades, you will find new cards for both these slots included in the pac

But while the ship's range of actions and maneuver dial, combined with its lack of shields, suggest that it should be a classic arc-dodger in the vein of the A-wing and the TIE interceptor, its pilots, like Fenn Rau , tend to favor brash, head-on charges. Accordingly, among the expansion's six ship cards and two upgrades, you will find no fewer than four cards that reference "Range 1," and three that reward you for flying straight into your opponent's firing arc.

This affords the Shadow Caster some of the advantages of a turret even while preserving a distinctive—and more point-efficient—playstyle, and as you might expect, each of the expansion's three unique pilots can put this mobile firing arc to good use, including the new Scum version of Sabine Wren .

Additionally, the Shadow Caster Expansion Pack and its upgrades allow you to litter the battlefield with debris tokens, upgrade your Shadow Caster with the abilities of each IG-2000 in your squad, and force your opponents to suffer the lingering effect of tractor beam tokens that are not removed during the end phase. In other words, the expansion is going to ensure the Scum faction stays updated with all the most devious tricks.

Will Wave IX and its starship expansions prove to be the perfect balance of innovation and classic design? Only time will tell, but for now, we know that it promises to add plenty of excitement through its variety, even as it keeps your X-Wing dogfights squarely focused on the basic principles of maneuvering, aiming, and firing.

Auxiliary firing arcs. Mobile firing arcs. Ships that want to fly into their enemies' firing arcs. Ordnance and upgrades that can literally change the shape of the battlefield. New aces pulled from the expanded Star Wars canon. Wave IX is coming, and there is only one good way to meet it—head on.

Look for Wave IX and its expansions to arrive at retailers late in the third quarter of 2016. Until then, keep your eyes open for more previews and other X-Wing news!

Norra Wexley's ability seems really good.

>When attacking or defending, you may spend a target lock have on the enemy ship to add 1 [focus] result to your roll.

Pair up Recon Spec and K6 or maybe another Rebel Pilot that grants Focus Token or TL gain (Dutch, Kyle, Shara Bey now, Esege) give her Calculation and transform her into a poor mans ATC carrier.

PTL, Kyle (Crew), Generic R2, Engine Upgrade could work.

Then there's the merits of:
Stay On Target - Targeting Astromech - Kyle Katarn

or Expose - Experimental Interface - Generic R2 - Ezra Bridger

Although at this point you are throwing a lot of points on something that's only PS7 and has the survivability of a B-Wing more or less.
>>
>>47572542
She also works well with the other ARC-170 pilot, which lets other ships use her target locks.

Well, most of them have it already to be honest.

The ones that don't already have some pretty high priority items taking the Mad slot already.
A-Wings have their Auto-Thrusters, X-Wings have their Integrated Astros or Guidance Chips, as do Y-Wings, TIE Bombers and Defenders have Chips or Mk2 Engines, which leaves what? A T-70 when BB-8 is already used, and who doesn't a free HP from Integrated or enough spare Autothruster cards?

>>47571986
It is going to end up being the hyper-maneuverable A-Wing/Interceptor that scum needs. Which is awesome.

>>47572037
It still is. But with Poe offsetting the count for Rebels at 3 to everyone else's 2 PS 9 pilots, they need to balance the numbers a bit. I'm just glad the third PS 9 for Scum is on the Mandalorian fighter, and not the "gimmicky-turret" ship.

>>47572113
Nah. FFG isn't giving up. The Scyk's not going to be the A-Wig for Scum, with green turns (yet). It'll get something, but all it really needs is a discount to be usable. If it gets a free Scyk Modification that increases it's utility (like green 1-turns, a shield, or a free focus when going slow), then that works too.

Problem is that it'll compete with Integrated Astro, Guidance Crisps, and Engine Upgrade. Plus, we've already got BB-8.
>>
>>47574239
You already could. The only problem is you're dealing orimarily with big ships, or relatively fragile ships with either 3 health or 2 agility. The exception being the starviper, which has health and agility, AND is fucking murder in the right hands... But it sits at lower PS scores and requires a higher learning curve and/or Veteran Instincts on Xizor to bring you up to "ace" standards.

Fenn Rau is icing on the cake, finally giving Scum a hyper-maneuverable fighter with high PS, and apparently a Tallon Roll. I'm predicting it's dial is going to look like a Starviper had a theee way with a T-70 and an A-Wing. Bleached "B-Wing" starviper dial, 2-speeds are all green, and Tallon Rolls instead of S-Loops.
>>
>>47574467
Yo guys, I just realized, Quickdraw also activates when you take damage from flying over asteroids, debris, and from bombs (or other abilities).
>>
>>47574524
It'll basically be Guidance Chips if you're carting around torps, Integrated Astronif you beed survivability, Vectored Thrusters if you want maneuverability (Wedge/Wes/Luke). I fucking like it. It makes the X-Wing more customizable, and takes away the need to take Expert Handling and suck a stress just to barrel roll.
>>
How come this: >>47572251 doesn't appear here >>47572169 ?

Did the leak rush FFG into releasing a draft?
>>
>>47574638
I think that's the point. If you take an X-Wing, what mod do you give it? Effectively it will make the T-65 into a flexible little ship. Other ships like A-Wings could also benefit, but they want Autothrusters. B-wings don't need it, and have the E2. Z-95s could get some use if it's not too expensive. And it doesn't look like the mod is Rebel only, so that would make it an option for the Khyraxxz as well.

I'm not going to say Y-Wing, but barrel rolling Y-Wing with Autoblaster.

>Alderaan was a one time deal

What is Carida, what is Taris, what is the entire fucking Hosnian system, etc.

Planet-destroying superweapons have appeared in every iteration of Star Wars ever. The fact that you don't like them is irrelevant.
>>
>>47575213
>What is Carida
never heard of it
>what is Taris
a world bombarded by a sith fleet with it's megacities reduced to rubble, not a world destroying event. Not even the first instance of a planet wide civilization being destroyed and not an entire planet being reduced to rubble.
>what is the hosnian system
a retread of the dumber parts if the EU and not worth considering going forward until the next movie mentions it. Which may very well be doubtful considering how little impact alderaan played beyond being an example of what the deathstar is capable of.
>>
>>47575137
>There's gotta be a catch or something there.

There is. You've got to fit IG-88 in there as well. He doesn't run cheap.
>>
>>47575281
Hosnian system was the seat of the New Republic's council. It will get mentioned, as effectively the Neo Republic just had it's capital obliterated. IMO, it gives us a very likely chance of seeing the Republic Fleets, the possibility (slim possibility) of Wedge, and is most likely why there's a leaked photo of an A-Wing in Ep 8.
>>
>>47575281
>Carida
A star system that was home to one of the Empire's big military academies. Notable alumni include Daala, Baron Fel, Kyle Katarn, Dash Rendar, Han Solo, and Tyber Zann. Rom Mohc was also one of the instructors there at some point. It was blown the fuck up during Kyp Durron's wild ride.

Carida is once again canon (mentioned in Tarkin and Twilight Company) but very little is known about that version so far.

It's almost as if no one gave it any forethought before pitching it, and no one gave it any attention when ideas came to the cutting board.
>>
>>47575639
>>47575641
you know say what you want about the simplicity of the original trilogy but the only part of it that really looks half assed is the sexual implications between Luke and Leia in light of what we learn. The rest is fine.

Every sequel adds on baggage to the original trilogy's setting often without much forethought, the EU did that, now TFA is picking up ideas from the EU and grabbing some of the stupider ones.

yeah I'll Kvetch about midichlorians and so on because it's traditional at this point but I'd like to think that now that you have people who can say "George that's fucking retarded" we could at least get ideas into production that sound like someone thought about their wider implications to the universe at large for more than 5 minutes.

I admit, as much as I do like the Scum releases, I was hoping for the Scurrg. I want a proper bomber for my faction, instead of having to take the Andrasta and 50 points of 'optional' extras just to throw some Ion bombs around.

Something like:
Torpedo, Crew, Illicit, Bomb, Bomb for ~25 points would have made my day.
>>
>>47576411

Which is why I didn't list it?

But really, the Shadowcaster is a trekoff, the /sf is lazy as fuck, and the Mando thing is just a really fugly cartoon aesthetic that doesn't look SW at all to me.
>>
>>47576452
Scurrg would kind of have to go full prequel pilots I guess which is why they haven't done it for X-Wing yet.

Probably more like:
Missile, Crew, Crew, Illicit, Bomb, Bomb
With an upgrade card allowing BOTH crew slots to be swapped for salvaged astros.

I can't decide if it feels better with a primary turret or as the first large ship with a turret slot, probably the latter, and there's an argument to be made for Primary 4 normal arc.

>>
>>47576079
okay that's not a bad point
>>
>>47576509
The issue with having Missile instead of Torpedo is the loss of Extra Munitions - two bomb slots without EM is the same as a Y-Wing with Bomb Loadout and EM.

Swapping Crew for Astromech sounds like something you could do for the Havoc title!

Nym and Jinkins and Generic and Generic. I'd rather see it as a really big small base ship like the K-Wing and the Punisher.

Either way get on this shit FFG.
>>
>>47576534
At no point has this ever been shown, and in fact the opposite has been demonstrated repeatedly. George Lucas ass-pulled General Solo exclusively so there was something for Han to do. It's Marion Ravenwood Drives thirty years early. The fact you've since read dozens of shitty EU works where the authors use that same loophole to justify what the fuck Han is doing while they wait on Luke to drop in and save the day doesn't change that.

And the Darth Vader of Return of the Jedi is a whipped bitch, incapable of even contemplating rebellion against his master until it's his boss or his son. Seriously, watch it with a critical eye and all the problems with the prequels come out real damn hard in Jedi.
>>
>>47576586
The key to doing the Havoc justice is the bomblet generator, I think. I'm not sure whether that's better as a mod or as the Havoc title, with the crew<>mech card being whichever other one (and specifically forcing BOTH slots so we don't have another JumpMaster wombo combo)

Usually you'd see 3 named pilots for a large ship, so add Kole (who's technically more fitting than Jinkins since Jinkins iirc had his own ship)

I had a version of the Havoc statted up when I was working on prequel ships (how dead IS that project now?), but it was pretty badly done in retrospect.
>>
>>47576289
>as a scum player
Yeah, no. We've been needing a true interceptor with some lethality. Making it a hyper maneuverable ship that gets bonuses for being in it's targets face, works well. This is the ship we needed. What we wanted was essentially the Vraksai, but this will do fine and taps into more of the Mandalorian side of Scum.
>>
>>47576454
It doesn't look Star Wars, because it's not following the design ethos of the rebellion/resistance, or empire/FO. Like most Scum ships. Very few of the Scum ships look "Star Wars", with some being extremely divergent, such as the Starviper, Khyraxxz, or Mist Hunter.
>>
>>47576674
Oops I missed the bit about small ship.

I could see it (I REALLY wish they'd done medium base for the HWK, with long/wide versions depending on ship:

>HWK, G-1A, Aggressor - long
>K-Wing, Punisher, Scurrg - wide

Makes it interesting because wierd things like wide primary arcs could be done, and length ofc changes movement speed, but also width would determine barrel roll type which would allow the three long ships to have really crazy range control, where the wide ships would have only direct lateral movement.
>>
>>47576586
2 bomb slots is actually worse than a bomb slot and torp (EM) slot, unless you specifically want to pay more for two different types of bombs.
>>
>>47576696
I welcome the design space, I just think the ship is fucking ugly.
>>47576715
There's a huge difference in terms of mechanical details that even the really odd ships like the StarViper and Mist Hunter have and the Mando thing is simply lacking.
>>
>>47576674
>>47576509
>Havoc 1 point
>Place 1 ordnance token on each equipped [BOMB] upgrade card. When you are instructed to discard an Upgrade card, you may discard 1 ordnance token on that card instead.

with torpedoes and extra munit you could theoretically get six bombs on one ship which is NOICE
>>
>>47576745
Which is why any dedicated bomber needs a Torp slot.
>>47576760
I like that. It's just an EM rehash but it feels fresh.
>>
>>47576760

>>
>>47576760
On the real real: When are you going to get to deploy six bombs in one (non-epic) game?
>>
>>47576760
>>47576801
"Once per round when you would discard a <bomb> upgrade card, you may instead remove 1 shield token."

Not sure on points, losing shields seems like a huge drawback but that's a LOT of bombs depending on shield count.

For a small-base ship I'd almost do something like 3h/4s
>>
>>47576746
That difference in detail lies soley in the Mandalorian Fighter being a fairly simple design. Compared to the Starviper's four-point s-foil wing thruster system, which makes fucking sense in space for some Star Wars back-asswards reason. Or compared to the Mist Hunter being a weird design with obligatory spoiler.

Personally I welcome it. It looks fairly simple, direct to the point, bears vague resemblence to other Mandal Motors craft, and will lend itself well to repaints.
>>
>>47576843
At its cheapest, its absolute cheapest, the Andrasta takes up just shy of half of your points without any upgrades (assuming every bomb slot has a Thermal Detonator). 44 with the generic, 45 with Emon (and for 1 point why would you not take Emon?) That becomes 47 with Extra Munitions for six bombs.

To put that in perspective, the cheapest equivalent loudout for the Rebels is the K-Wing with Munitions and two Thermal Detonators for 31 points and for the Imperials it's 29 points for the Punisher with the same loadout. Even if I dropped my chepeast Andrasta down to match the same loadout it'd still be 44 points.

Scum need their two bomb slot single torpedo slot dedicated bomber which clocks in at around 30 points in this loadout. That's a niche the Scurrg would fill.
>>
>>47576860
The issue there becomes the crew slot and Gonk. You could gimmick the Scurrg to be Torpedo, Salvaged Astromech, Salvaged Astromech, Illicit, Bomb, Bomb. That might be a laugh.
>>
>>47576961
Gonk is still action-dependent and may or may not be FAQed to not work with Experimental Interface.

I mean, it could just cost a stress or something to reload, or "suffer 1 damage" thus eventually crossing shields.

With only 1-2 AGI it'd also basically lose the ability to regen bombs if it gets shot too much.
>>
>>47576934
Except the Andraste exists solely for Emon. And you're not loading it full of Thermals (only). At it's cheapest you're going all Ion Bombs and Seismic Charges for 42points. But again, cheapest isn't why you take the bomb-master. You give him a spread of bomb types, going with Conner Net, Proximity, and Thermal Detonator. Yeah he'll run you 46pts base, but only Deathrain can exceed the bomb bullshit Emon can pull off, but with less survivability, and only a forward firing primary 2 attack. For everything else on Scum bombers, it's Y-Wing or Slave-1.
>>
>>47576991
Gonl does work with Experimental Interface. It just can't double-Gonk in the same turn.
>>
>>47577045
Yeah, the bank+recharge combo is why Gonk wouldn't really supercharge a shield-based bomblet generator, even if you bank a lot of shields at the start it's still not a very good timing.

You have to have the shield /before/ dropping the bomb, or the bomb card itself flips and you can't get it back, so Gonk has to be used the previous round to the drop, AND it happens before you get shot that round, so you might use Gonk and still lose all your shields before the bomb drop.
>>
PS9 used to be special.

>>47577192
That was done away with when the Dread Pirate Cobra was made PS 9. And all he ever did was act as a newb-zone boss that everyone killed in Star Wars Galaxy.

Regardless, Poe got PS 9. I am certain that the reason Fenn Rau and Quickdraw are 9, is to balance out Rebels getting their third PS 9 pilot. It still comes out to 3 PS-9 pilots per faction.

>>
>>47579265
well evade is guaranteed where focus requires you to roll it to use
>>
>>47579133
There are a lot of factors.

Focus is worse if you're not rolling a lot of green dice (25% usefulness on a single green, where evade will guarantee a 1pt cancel), or generally if you're rolling with other mods vs an attack that overmatches your defense dice (say, HLC's 4 vs AGI3).

If you're firing first and have reasonable odds of killing a ship that'll shoot back lower, focus is better.

In general cases where you want to do some damage and know you might get shot focus definitely has more utility, but it's not as simple as 'i want an action for both offense/defense', because without Recon Specialist you're still only getting 1 token and 1 use.

Even though the Shadow Catcher is fugly, it may still be fun to fly. Depends on how that gimmicky "totally not a turret, gais" ability works out. The Punishing One looks like ass, and still does. But it's arguably one of Scum's best ships to fly, without even counting it's competitive value.
>>
>>47579869
Its not fugly, just a bbw freighter
>>
>>47579133
Focus is better for being useful as either offense or defense dice modification. But the reliability of it is questionable as you need to roll eyeballs for it to actually be of any value. Target Lock is purely for offense, provides the same statistical numbers as a focus for attacking, and has the added bonuses of not being discarded during the end phase and powering torpedoes and most missiles.

Evade is a different story... It is a raw 1 damage mitigation. Effectively the same as having a "disposable shield" for that one turn. It will always block one hit/crit result, and requires no dice or dice modification to do so. In this regard, it is strictly better for 1-agility and 2-agility ships, and a toss-up on 3-agility ships. Mechanically speaking it has the most impact when you roll all blanks, or roll all hits and still aren't completely negating the damage. It should also be noted that Evade tokens are not very useful against Twin Laser Turrets, and Juke makes them much more useful for offense.

Oh that's tasty if its true. Not just because of the Gunboat but because it opens the door for Space Jam
>>
>>47580577

The lack of Missile Boat has been pretty odd. I mean that the first ship to have the SLAMM being the K-Wing was very weird considering that it was the Missile Gunboat that first had the damn thing.
>>
>>47580598
Presumably a balance issue. The Missile Boat has traditionally been absurdly powerful for its size, and after introducing the Punisher, how do you work in another dedicated bomb truck into the rotation without it getting stale.

Unless you turn it into a concussion missile truck...
>>
>Concord Dawn Starfighter
>If you and your attacker are both in each other's arcs and at range 1, get 1 free evade result.

Nice.
>>
>>47580661

Honestly I just wouldn't have done the Punisher, and included the Missile Boat instead. The K-Wing get's Extra Munitions, the Missile Boat get's a missile version, perhaps a card that lets you reload your Missile Secondaries as an Action, similar to how STAW used to do it? So you have a Missile and a general Muntions type fix, but the two can't be cross compatible. (Make it so the Missile fix puts a Cannot Fire token on a Missile Upgrade instead so the Extra Munitions never come up perhaps?)
Then give it 1AD, but a Title or Mod unique to it that gives it +2 AD at RB1.
Done and Done.
>>
>>47580750

Oh, and no EPT slots on any of them, so no Push the Limit shenannigans.
Possibly make the Missile fix a Modification, so now Experimental Interface either, but that seems like a bit much, just make the Dial shit for greens so you can run Experimental Interface to remove those Not!Disabled Tokens, but you're going to be predictable as hell movement wise.

And do you REALLY want to go without Guidance Chips?

The big questions is would it still be balanced to give it a systems upgrade slot as well?
>>
>>47580661
>>47580750

Well, really, the Missile Boat and the XG-1 are basically the same thing, just in slightly different time periods. They even have the same manufacturer, just one is the brainchild of Grand Admiral Thrawn and the other is "We need hyperspace capable strike fighters just in case".

The K-Wing is weird because it's from a way later time period, but I'm not sure of any other Reb/NR ships which are heavy ordinance trucks like that. The H-Wing would have been goofier to be sure.

The TIE Punisher/Interdictor has a more interesting/sensible story behind it than just "Missile Boats were cool in like, two flight sims", and while I'm not super familiar with how it plays, I'm sure it does it's job as "thing which holds and shoots many bombs".

Fenn isn't quite Soon-Tier but he's pretty close, and the title looks like it'll be about as good as Autothrusters (especially with this current trend for big base turretships to go looking for front arc shots, like with Dengar and Rey) so combining that with his ability and stealth device will probably work well. Although PTL is reliant on him having some crazy green access. Like a Green 1 Turn for a minimum.

The rest is all proven dogfighter builds that all work.

My vote is they have a movable capital building, like High Charity from Halo except just a ship.

I bet you could fit the pentagon, White House, Capitol building, and Supreme Court building comfortably in a super star destroyer and still have enough room for the entire national mall, for SW that's easy to do.
>>
>>47585458
they wouldn't have done that because Disney wants to milk the franchise. They know you can't move toys if you've alienated your fans to such an absurd degree. Unlike american comic books stuff in star wars tends to stick for longer than 1 or 2 years so if you kick off the new canon by destroying the capital of the galactic republic and former capital of the empire you're kicking off your new EU by destroying the literal center of the universe.
>>
>>47585484
your average aircraft carrier has around 5k or so people on hand. Increase it to around 20k capacity and you should have enough for a legislative body.
>>
>>47585570
But increase the size to accommodate all the fucking planets.

So let's say we have a "core" government body of 100k. That's 100k in senators, chancellor's aids, treasury bean-counters, assistants, generals, chiefs of staff, intel boys, Supreme Court justices and their legal staff, secretaries of X,Y, and Z and ministers of A, B, and C, then all the defense for those people and retailers so they live comfortably. Assuming they use fairly heavy automation you could probably see what, a half-million people you would need to pack on to a ship? Maybe a bit less?

In Star Wars that wouldn't be unfeasible, it again would be basically a legislative super star destroyer.

I bet you could accomplish that with one of those trade fed ring ships, those were about 3 miles in diameter (5k for y'all euros) right?
>>

Shit, FaD pretty much REVOLVES around that shit. Combined with the fact that he's not even using a lightsaber, and it's actually pretty low key.

All I've ever wanted was my A-Wings and my Imperial Gunboats which I loved from their relevant flight-sim games. I was more than happy with the former, but I do wish I hadn't had to wait this long for the latter.

That said, I'm wondering what POSSIBLE niche they could have found for the thing. I mean, surely "Imperial X-Wing with Ion Cannons and Missiles instead 3AD and a Torp slot" has been done already?
>>
>>47587371
What?
>>
>>47587371
I agree. Now that we know that the Italian is legit it's pretty clear that the Gunboat will be Wave X but where does it go? The Punisher and the Defender both occupy its potential logistical position (especially the new TIE/D title).

I guess maybe EPT, System, Missile, Missile, Cannon with Focus, Target Lock and SLAM on its action bar? 4 Hull 3 Shield 3 Attack 2 Defence to make some kind of mid-points fighter/ordnance superiority fighter. The kind of thing you might be able to cram two into a list of.
>>
>>47587445

The Gunboat probably shouldn't have SLAM since it was the Missile Boat that was the first to have it.
Should it even have 2 missile slots? Maybe that's the niche it should go for? A Two Agility B-Wing with only 2AD? Give it 3 Shields and 5 hull, or 4 Shields and 4 Hull and comparable B-Wing prices?
>>
>>47587445
>>47587699
Could be 'Slam' on a title. When HoR comes out the Imps will be the only faction without SLAM in some form.

If we get the Gunboat I'd like to see a Target Painter system. Something like:
Target Painter
Range 1-3 3 Dice System
ATTACK: Attack 1 Ship.
If this attack hits you may acquire a target lock on the defender and assign 1 focus token to.your ship. Then cancel all dice.
You may immediately perform a Secondary Weapon attack.

>some weird timeline creep with the ARC-170 (a Republic starfighter) appearing as a Rebel ship
Not really, its not a stretch because the US and various other contries have mothballed, or purchased surplus, older generations of fighters. For example, Iran is currently using the F14 as one of their main air superiority fighter
>>
>>47588151
But this isn't the US using old fighters, or selling/giving them to allies, its ISIS having them and the US not.
>>
>>47588179
thats not my point. I was just explaining that its not that far of a leap to think the empire has planets devoted to being boneyards for clone wars era ships that could be recommissioned and retrofitted as needed
>>
>>47588179
>>47588191
Nvm I got where youre getting at. You could still steal them from the boneyards if you were hard pressed for some free fighters. Its not the best situation to be in but with a large enough force you could easilly steal a handful
>>
>>47588080

Maybe make something like this:

>When attacking a ship you have a Target Lock on, at the modify dice step you may turn all [focus] results into [hit] results. If you do, you may not spend the target lock for this attack.

>>
>>47587182

That's a good question. I don't think we're ever told in either Legends or canon what happens to the Senate building after the Senate is discontinued. The only building on Coruscant we know about getting changed after the Empire took over in canon is the Jedi Temple, which became Sheev's palace.
>>
>>47589967
According to the Wook's Legends page, Palps just had the building closed and barred. Kind of odd that no writer ever thought to make that a cover-up for secret backup doomsday lair renovations.
>>
>>47590101
It would be pretty cool for a tier 0 storm tooper recon unit and hiuse all logistics in there
>>
>>47590101
That really is surprising, now that I think about it. But then again, once we got into post-2002-ish territory, the books were firmly either NJO or Clone Wars; obviously the latter is a no-go, but the latter is like... the perfect opportunity for them to bring out something ridiculous, especially with the retcon that Palpatine had planned the Clone Wars specifically to harden the galaxy against the Vong...

Dear God, why?

Serrissu is expensive and her ability doesn't help her. Elusiveness only works once per round and Scyks have a hard time clearing stress. Mangler isn't great for its effective 6 point cost.

Guri doesn't need VI, PS7 isn't worth going up to. Predator is good for re-rolls, though I prefer Lone Wolf to help defense.

Pablo will have a hard time getting his turret going even with boost. Bodyguard is neat, might be useful paired with Serrissu, but it's an expensive combo.

Guri is great, kills generics like it's nobody's business, so build your list to kill what she fears: high PS ships. Palob is great, as are feedback Zs, a YV, Zuckuss, Talonbane, That's probably your best bet.
>>
>>47591242
2 ways:
-PS2s with conner/prox mines shitting on ships before they move
-PS4s with missiles/torps blowing up things
>>
>>47591188
I wouldn't call it sub-par. But a couple things to note are how Vet Instincts is practically worthless on Guri, due to her low PS of 5. Bumping her to 7 is really, REALLY meh. If you're good with her, she doesn't need it. So far some of the best EPTs I've found with Guri, are Predator, Crackshot, Wired (makes her S-Loops less detrimental), and Outmaneuver.

Unless you've got a Recon Specialist, Moldy Crow is kinda "meh". It's alright, and I see what you're doing with Bodyguard (good idea), but it needs the Recon in order to really capitalize on it. Elusiveness is just bad however, unless you have someone like Keyan, 4-Lom, or Ibtisam who can use the stress in some way.

An alternative is this Atanni Mindlink version. Guri, and Palob, both worth well with the Mindlink. And Palob likes the Cloaking Device. This does mean you need Punishing One and the Mist Hunter, unless you buy the cards online or proxy.
