Lazy and for plebes. Even a burgerflipper can buy into a Modern deck.

Youre supposed to use creatures anon, judges familiar is close enough and much fairer. Stop trying to opress your opponents.

If I buy counterfeits, I can very likely get two or three dozen decks or more for the price of a single "real" deck, and no one will notice or care enough to notice.

Making a NB budget Burn deck. Do I need Grim Lavamancer? If I don't I can go Mono red color base. I want to splash white later.

Fuck why are fetches so expensive.

Goblin Guide also what the FUCK. I need good fakes ASAP. Usually I can buy a card at a time. FUCK.
>>
>>47349006
Bloodstained mire and wooded foothills aren't expensive at all. Even the good version.
>>
>>47349006
Why would Grim Lavamancer prevent you from going mono-red? Fetches give it extra fuel, sure, but even without them it's still turning your previously used burn spells into Shocks.
>>
>>47349105
I dunno. People tell me not to use him if not running fetches.
>>
>>47349370
Sounds dumb. Post your list so far?
>>
>>47349370

If you're also running Searing Blaze, use fetches.
>>
>>47349393
This will be the final list but without the fetches and goblin guide because fuuuuuck.

4 Arid Mesa
2 Bloodstained Mire
4 Boros Charm
4 Eidolon of the Great Revel
4 Goblin Guide
2 Grim Lavamancer
4 Lava Spike
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Lightning Helix
4 Monastery Swiftspear
3 Mountain
4 Rift Bolt
3 Sacred Foundry
4 Scalding Tarn
3 Searing Blaze
1 Shard Volley
2 Skullcrack
2 Stomping Ground
2 Wooded Foothills

1 Ancient Grudge
3 Deflecting Palm
4 Destructive Revelry
3 Kor Firewalker
3 Path to Exile
1 Smash to Smithereens
>>
>>47349562
Might want to consider Atarka's Command for the mainboard, and almost certainly Molten Rain for the sideboard. If you're running 4 Destructive Revelry, you probably don't need Smash or Ancient Grudge either.

I've ordered from each of the stores on AliExpress, and the most believable one is Best Shopping Centre. They're less plastic-y and the color is much better.

On the one hand it does read like someone who places actual rules and regulations ahead of feels, which is good. It stands in stark contrast to the arguments a lot of the saltier players/bloggers on both sides sling around. On the other hand she's still getting a bit too far into "know it when I see it" territory in what constitutes "offensive", particularly given how vague the direction Judges get on this topic is.

Good taste in playmat choices thought.

blinkmoth nexus and stuff, Mostly I fiegn mana ramping to make the opponent think I am setting up board but usually It's 1-3 lands one creature and 2 ramp spells
trample 10/10 infect at turn 3 will make you concede pretty fast.

Also the Phyrexian buff spells like mutagenic growth are very important to pulling as you are going to use your life in exchange for 4 of them and you've won

Shame about what? Liking a cartoon? I play against people with waifu sleeves and lewd playmats in several card games and they tend to be the be the best opponents: courteous, well-mannered, and most of all fun. I realize this isn't everyone's experience but it's kind of ridiculous to me to shame people for no other reason than they like some Chinese cartoons from the 30s.
>>
>>47354882
It's the overtness of the otherwise inherent sexuality in anime. It's one thing to have weeb sleeves like shown, but the bounds of societal decorum (I would argue) become somewhat infringed on when panty-clad pussylips are the most prominent thing on the sleeve or playmat. And I say this as the grown ass man weaboo prodigy of my lgs.
>>
>>47354882
"I jack off to anime drawings" is usually not the first thing you say to someone. You bring waifu shit, that's the first thing you're telling people.

It seems like you don't know what "tilted"means. Getting turn 1'd two games in a row is tilting. The feeling is "anger"

Seeing someone with "I can't go within 1,000ft of a school" sleeves makes me feel bad for them. The feeling is "embarrassment"
>>
>>47357094
4 Helix maindeck seems like a lot but it depends on your meta. If they have lots of combo or control it's less good but if your meta is aggro, that and bridge is nice.
Personally I'd go 2 Helix 2 Searing Blaze

I'd take out the bridges and an anger, and I'd add 2 Skullcrack and a Relic

The real trick, depending on from whom you ordered, is placing them in those real tight fitting sleeves. I usually ship mine out with some real cards; and last time I was ballsy by placing a real and a fake in the same order. But it worked out.
Anyways, people on pucatrade are idiots, and people in person are even dumber.

I'm not against everything being reprinted. Fuck the collectors, let them cry and pretend they have a case for suing JotC over it. Put them in a special from the vault or something you can order directly from their site that has playsets of everything in it, force LGSs not to kike it up to keep making money off their game.

Of course nothing like this will ever happen so it's all just circle jerking.
>>
>>47358376
Maybe you shouldn't play a collectible card game
>>
>>47358376
I'm fine with any card in the game getting reprinted, I'm not fine with every card being legal in Modern. Some cards sure, but the obviously busted shit (Power 9, Show and Tell, Tinker, Original Dual Lands, stuff like that) needs to stay out.
>>
>>47358406
Not that guy, but imho it's expected for things to be pricey.
I do think that WotC needs to do some proactive steps to make the game more affordable though. You can do reprints at the same time as unbans to avoid price spikes, preemptively reduce the hikes instead of unbanning a 20$ card and causing the price to double.
10$ FNMs are also a nice treat, and generally it doesn't hurt the price of the card. Last good one was Serum Visions, it was a real treat and a step in the right direction. Fucking Blighted Fern is horsecocks. and while I do like Spacial Contortion, they should really focus on printing FNMs of cards that aren't in the newest set.
>>
>>47358487
I would like to see more reprints, but I am glad that wotc is trying to do it without tanking prices.

The "reprint everything now" people tend to not have collections, so they ignore how ruining the collectibility of the game might be a huge drawback
>>
>>47358406
Why not? I own the cards I want, but I can't get my friends into the game or ever recommend it because of the cost. If it were lower I could have more people to play with and maybe even break into formats I don't play already.
>>

>>
>>47358664
Fuck the collectors. Magic is a game, a good game at it's core, but it's being hamstrung by "muh collectors", and Mark "The Nose" Rosewater who seems more interested in collecting his kickback from third party distributors than making sure the game stays healthy.
>>
>>47358664
Go collect coins if you want a collection of things worth thousands of dollars. MTG is a card game and prices as high as they are only hurt the game.

This is coming from someone who has already spent thousands on cards. I want more people to play and to play the deck they want instead of some shit cheaper deck they resorted to.
>>
>>47358688
You clearly don't enjoy the collectible nature of the game. You think of cards you buy as a loss rather than an area where your money is tied up. Try playing draft or sealed with your friends.
>>
>>47358664
Im not even talking about them producing many reprints; they just really need to stop fucking up so much and stop it from become MORE expensive.
They promised an Inquisition reprint, twice I think, and literally backed out because it's not "devoid". Now the card is worth more than Thoughtseize, and cheap decks like 8rack are no longer cheap.
lands are expensive as fuck (expeditions helped a bit), pretty much everything is expensive as fuck

Good FNM promos help this alot, you basically get people trading in their copies for foil versions, which frees up some copies for non-foilers.

so much fun collecting a shitton of vanilla creature commons that I will never use in any deck ever. surely this is some money well spent.
>>
>>47358819
The problem is, the mentality that logically follows from the cards being considered somewhere money is just "tied up" is "why can't i make money off the secondary market?" which is a truly cancerous mentality that actively ruins every format and, of unchecked, will kill the game.

Plus limited formats aren't as fun as constructed to me and my friends.

Spellweaver Helix funbrew is a go

this is basically retrace loam spellweaver

21 LANDS

basically a 4 color land package with fetches/shocks and running
2x academy ruin
2x buried ruin

NONLANDS

4x Spellweaver Helix
4x Flame Jab
4x Raven's Crime
4x Faithless Looting
4x Glimpse the Unthinkable (open to replacement)
4x Life from the Loam
3x Serum Visions (considering replacing with Manamorphose)

4x Hedron Crab
4x Simian Spirit Guide

1x Sorin's Vengeance
4x Time Stretch

basically you can go off naturally on turn 4. spellweaver a spell that can discard lands to recast and go off forever with loam. without the combo you can still snipe low health creatures with flame jab and you can still loam raven's crime engine to keep down hand sizes.

the sorin's vengeance isn't probably necessary to be honest because you could just loam flame jab. i just like to have more than one win con because of things like surgical extraction, and this deck can still go off really early with simians to kill with 2 activations of sorin's.

shitbrew funbrew whats the difference

The people who actually have a decent collection own things that won't devalue because they're actual collector's items, like cards from Alpha, and not just cards that people want to play with. The ones that care about that are shitters who "invest" in tarmogoyfs and stop people from playing the game so they can someday see some profit.

Okay so the retrace + spell weaver seems interesting but it seems really easy to interupt as just about every side board has some way to interact with artifacts. Like, only mono B has no option. The deck over all also suffers from graveyard hate which weakens it. Graftdigger's also really easily deals with the deck.
What is the point of the 1 of S. Vengance? This seems like a really big spell that won't fire most of the time. Also, running 1 ofs doesn't work well with Spellweaver.
I'm confused to why the mill cards are here. Is that the only real win con?

>>47359750
Take out the man lands and replace them with better duel lands. Even just 5 dollar pain lands are better as you can use them as you play.
This feels like a wonky zoo deck. The lacking of healing besides the Kalistas is pretty lame. This is really only a problem with how much you'll be taking from fetching. You should consider adding more lighting helixes. I'd cut the slaughter for another helix.
I'd consider adding more pyromancers and get rid of the Kalitas.
The lingerings seem really out of place. You only have have your walkers that support a wide board strategy. Unless you add some anthems it feels like all the tokens you are making through Brimaz, young, and lignering seem weak, but at that point you just are making a RBW tokens which will be really bad as it is slower and is even more strained for mana.

Mill? No you silly. The glimpses and hedron crabs are to be used on yourself to send retrace cards into the yard. You can get back helixes by using loam on a land that can do it, but its slow.

Generally the sorins is the real win con, you get another spellweavers and link it with sorins. The turns just get you there but flame jab is the real win con.

Dealing with artifacts is no big deal. If their removal is instant speed its a shame but often times you wanna try and force them to discard down before you drop your spellweavers. You can do that against control decks really easily.

The real weakness is grave hate. You get fucking wrecked by it, and its already all over the place.

It doesn't look like it does much of anything. What's the goal, abusing prized amalgam? Congrats you have a couple 3/3s and maybe some 1/1s to back it up. Greater Gargodon? There's better engines to power it out, and it's a shit card when the opponent can just path it and shit all over you. I guess it gets around dismember, but the deck isn't even fast enough to power out gargodon, and if the deck starts drawing dead, it accomplishes nothing. It's got no powerhouse creatures that it can rely on, no removal, and not even any instant win combos.

B) There is no Force of Will, making it wholly unrealistic to make combo that powerful. Hell, Splintertwin got banned.
C) Turn 1 elf on the play into Emrakul (In a UG Elf ramp deck) is pretty much impossible to beat in modern. Spell pierce is basically the only card. And I guess people could start running o-ring or fiend hunter mainboard, but pretty much impossible. There isnt even Karakas to counter it like there is in legacy.

Okay, here's the deal. Stewart's ruling in Jacobellis v. Ohio has been considered the butt of a joke among lawyers for years because it's a non-statement: which is exactly what you get from most people who legitimately want to restrict what protective products people can bring to a Magic event. They don't define what constitutes "offensive", but they'll "know it when they see it". What was not vague was his assertion that the Constitution protects all obscenity/vulgarity short of literal hard-core pornography.

The more recent and applicable ruling is Miller v. California 1973, which applied a set of standards that had to be met to define "obscenity":
>1: the average person, applying CONTEMPORARY COMMUNITY STANDARDS, would find it sexually-charged/prurient
>2: it portrays sexual/excretory functions/actions in explicit detail as defined by state law
>3: it lacks any serious artistic, political, or scientific value
This applies to legal cases, sure, and Judge rulings at a Magic tournament aren't that. But if a playmat/sleeve doesn't meet the three-prong standard from Miller v. California, which was agreed upon by a majority of Supreme Court Justices (often some of the stuffiest, most conservative old men in the country), why the fuck should anyone care?
>>
>>47366544

Dredge can get lethal on board on turn 2, so there's that. It's just way more incosistent, than storm or amulet ever was.

What the fuck. I hate Naya Burn. I'm just gonna play Legacy Burn with a few cards replaced. Stupid idea?
>>
>>47366867
Not so much as I don't consider nudity to be a "sexual or excretory action". Whether I like anime or not (I do) is irrelevant.

>>47366462
>I just got into magic
There are a lot of things that are screwy about the game, because WotC is trying to pander to too many groups at once. Protecting prices through a stubborn refusal to issue meaningful reprints is their nod to the "collectors".

The only people they don't pander to are older players who never collected for "value" and who liked the old lore/mechanics/visual style.

Fuck jund. Or rather fuck the current meta that made jund resurface. This is the epitome of negative play experience. I don't mind regular soul crushing decks, because they make it clear when they reach control. Jund gives you a glimmer of hope only to suffocate it the moment they gain priority. Even 8rack is more enjoyable to play against.
>>
>>47366972

1) Save up till you have around $800 USD or more
2) Pick a deck or strategy you enjoy
3) Realize that you still don't have enough cash for the whole thing
4) Save up while getting the cheaper cards you need
5) Quit building that deck after the expensive cards you haven't bought yet double in price
6) Trade in the cards you bought for Mono R Burn

KMC, Bushiroad, Broccoli—all good Japanese brands

KMC comes in packs of 80 but cost the same as 100 Dragon Shield; however, the KMC are better quality and split less if you shuffle them correctly.
>>
>>47367827
No, the issue is that jund is in fact a prison deck that doesn't appear to be one on the first glance. They start with one for one trades and slowly introduce two for one trades untill reaching a point where for every of your threats they've got two answers and for each of your answers they've got two threats. Normal prison decks make it clear when you have no hope of survival. It's a psychological thing that I can't get over. What I also hate about jund is that it is pure goodstuff with no synergy and this triggers my autism that wants mtg decks to be based around parts complementing each other.
>>
>>47367417
Well, I still have to live with the idea of infecteme deck becoming tier 1. I never expected that day would come.
>>
>>47368003
Infect is actually really fun to play against. I don't really enjoy piloting it, but fighting most decks is far from subtle and is more about taking general lead, while whenever I face off against infect it's a battle of precision, calculation and tells. It's not two floods crashing, but more like deflecting a scalpel's edge.

>>47367854
You don't.
