What is the greatest or most powerful being in the D&d universe?

What trumps all
>>
>>47212779
Which creature has it's name in the title?

Hint: It's not Dungeon
>>
Well, if we're allowing third party content...

https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Neutronium_golem

Otherwise, probably something from Elder Evils? That, or Ao from the Forgotten Realms I guess.

My PC. He's REALLY cool.
>>
The DM
>>
>>47212851

The Time Lords (sentient type III universes) that create them are probably more powerful, despite being lower CR.
>>
>>47213369
Does he afraid of anything?
>>
>>47212779
Depends on the context. In the Planescape setting, it could be argued that due to the fact that they can still cast their magic where even the gods can't, the most powerful creatures are spire butterflies
>>
Vulgus, Godeater Moon.

Player characters.

Greenwood please leave
>>
>>47212851

How was the CR for this thing worked out? Do you think the creator actually ever bothered playtesting?

"Ah, this was too difficult for a group of level 9700 PCs, but level 10000 was just too easy. 9721 it is."
>>
>>47213648
Officially, Upper_Krust says the neutronium golem should be around CR ~850.

He actually does have CR calculation guidelines.

Spire butterflies are a fanon creation and are in no way canon in any version of the Great Wheel.

Even if they were canon, they could be explained to be an advanced form of organic, intelligent magic item.

Although all magic and divine powers are abrogated near the base of the Spire, *magic items are completely unaffected*. The 1e Manual of the Planes, the 2e Planescape Campaign Setting boxed set's Sigil and Beyond, the 2e Player's Primer to the Outlands, the 3.0 Manual of the Planes, and the 3.5 Dungeon Master's Guide all make no mention whatsoever of magic items being affected by the Outlands.

Indeed, Chapter 7 of Tales of the Infinite Staircase clearly shows magic items being used at the base of the Spire (such as a room that replicates Unseen Servant and Light spells, as per page 105 of that book), and page 91 of the Monster Manual V contains a monster that uses a magic item within 100 miles of the Spire.

Ya. UK's CR guidelines are actually very, very good, DRASTICALLY better than WotC's.
>>
>>47213761
But still meaningless.

>Spire butterflies

Mimir.net called, they need their steel donuts back

>But still meaningless.

No? Even if playing the game past level 20 hurts your precious feelings, his CR guidelines still work great for fine tuning CRs -below- 20 as well. His ECL guidelines are also crazy useful.

Not even nearly the most powerful thing from that supplement, not to mention that >>47213377
the creators later confirmed that they messed up the CR for the neut. golem.

The DM

Ao

Lady of Pain

The Serpent
>>
>>47212779
Well in current MM standards, there's only one CR30, so I would assume that.
