Got an idea for a CYOA, a Royal Guardian remake but in the cyberpunk world. Bodyguard is enforcer/assasin, Captain of the Guard is head of security etc. and instead of kings there are CEOs, gang/police leaders of various degree of evilness. I am not up to the task so just throwing it out there.

Alright, so this is simple. Magic of death and time tend to be reliable choices. Sometimes only one of them is worthwhile, which is okay, and sometimes both of them are seriously dangerous, which is awesome.

Dragon is pretty clear. Dragons are awesome. Also, it lets me consolidate my magical resources, focusing from a bunch of bullshit strewn out and easily stolen and into myself. Well, I might not be understanding that correctly? The ideals all seem to be what you're trying to be/model yourself after, though, and that sounds more or less like a dragon.

Sorcery is the best choice for me, because it reflects my personal stances on what magic should entail. That is to say, the magic is inherently a reflection of the caster, and is a deeply personal experience.

Chaos magic is probably a bad choice, but it's a pretty good choice. Wishcraft get.

Metamagic is important, both because it lets you do good shit, and because it stabilizes my other options, and I majored in something unstable.

Havoc is pretty simple. It also rocks some synergy with my other specialties.

Artifice is also pretty straightforward. Rocks synergies with Chaos Magic, metamagic, and Dragon Idealism, supplying me with extra magical items I can use to sweet effect.

For me, my choice would be an Orange Sorcerer under the Ideal of the Vampire with a primary in Planeswalking and elementalism (metal), meta magic, and magitek secondaries.
I will go around this new world and into several others, finding criminals and warlords, and draining their power through occult rituals. My specialty in metal will allow me to construct constructs considerably quicker,with magitek making my mechanical minions more powerful. Eventually, I will need to deal with the most powerful criminals in the multiverse, possibly even dark gods, but by then I should have grown in power enough to take them on.

This is far from finished, I just didn't want someone to mention that another steampunk airship CYOA was on the way.

Sylvalan is 1 race. They were all the same at one point, but later developed on different landmasses and branched out, but ultimately stayed similar enough genetically. This will be explained farther.

Lurans aren't that magical, I just needed an excuse to explain the special snowflakes that people will make for this species. I'll say their genetics are unstable or something, explaining the short lifespan.

There will be a mutt option, letting you splice two species together as long as they're from the same race. You can have your catgirls.

And most importantly, this choice doesn't really matter. The next section will let you customize stats further, this is just for world lore and giving the PC a basis.

Dude in 40k the only people who use power armor that need it are sisters of battle, and some Inquisitors. The other guys who use it are fucking space marines who don't really need it. The Imperial Guard uses flak vests to fight orks and they usually do ok. So yeah physical strength is important in 40k, guns did not invalidate power unless you are Tau.

i have no horse in the furry argument, but personally i would replace "strength" with a "fitness" stat, and make it clear that it covers everything physical (aside from vitality). things like like agility and perception, in addition to raw strength.

it makes more sense given the other stats are pretty broad.

also, it's not clear what the "skill" stat does and how it seperates from intelligence. maybe a charisma or willpower stat would fit here?
