Yes.

No
>>
>>46606353
Its one of the best.
The age range is big. Every generation can play together. Easy rules.
>>
>>46606353
King Mao is the best card game, hands down.
>>
>>46606353
Easily the best card game.
>>
>>46606353
If that's the last card you play, do you win, or does the other guy?
>>
>>46606977

Presumably the other guy - it's kind of a blue shell card.
>>
>>46607018
But according to the game rules:
>Once a player has no cards left, the hand is over.

Meaning, the moment I play Swap Hands, if that's the last card I have, I've won.
>>
>>46607033
Are we really discussing homebrew uno?
>>
I hear its lots of fun.
>>
>>46607033
But shouldn't the card resolve first?
>>
>>46607697
Yes. Yes, we are.

We are /tg/.
>>
>>46607033
Nope. If it's the last card you have, and you play it, you lose.
>>
>>46606353
where's that anime comic about uno when you need it?

Surely if we're gonna homebrew we gotta come up with fluff for each of the colors, right?

Fuck Mao. If I'm not gambling I should at least be able to talk with my buddies.

Bonus second page even.
>>
>>46608564
Yes, we all know what will happen... The guy will play his "draw 4", the kid will say he haven't said Uno, and he will draw a card that he could not play.

With a lot of over the top concern about it, of course.
>>
>>46608901

no, the wild draw four is colorless, and thus the MC will be able to play his Green +4, which will in turn cause the antagonist player to be unable to play his blue 0 and force him to pick up another card, putting the MC ahead by 1 card.
>>
>>46609195
Why would the guy playing the Wild Draw Four pick green and not blue? The other Anon was right, he'll probably be so presumptuous about his victory that he'll forget to say Uno and be penalized. The four cards the protag draws will probably be a bunch of skip cards, draw cards, or maybe even that one newer card that lets you play all cards of one color at once and win the game.
>>
>>46609195
That's wrong though.

See, all these panels are from the same 4-player match.
>>
>>46609195
>no, the wild draw four is colorless

Fucking homebrew in Uno of all games, really /tg/?

>>46608901
Guys, come on. MC will draw into a bunch of draw 2 cards from the draw 4 and win the game.
>>
>>46606353
I would say it has held up better than the vast majority of trading card games like yugioh or mtg.

The rules are simple, the game is cheap, the game is fun, it's short, it is literally 1st grader simple, and the fuckery is real.
>>
I dunno, euchre is pretty tight
>>
>>46606353
It's definitely not the worst card game.

That would be Sentinels of the Multiverse.
>>
>>46609195
>no, the wild draw four is colorless
It's wild. The dude who plays it chooses the colour.
>>
>>46607979
>>46607033
Yep. Only numbered cards can be your last
>>
>>46608299
We... could base it of A:tLA, where each color represents a nation.
>>
>>46613686
So instead of being the Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, Air Nomads and Water Tribes, they're referred to by their color and another descriptor, or perhaps their color in four different foreign languages?

Who would be based off of what?

>>
>>46608564
I want to make this a series pretty bad.
Not sure what i would use, i cant into art
Real actors? Puppets? stop motion?
>>
>>46617171
Learn to use 3D animation and modelling. Don't use Stop Motion, because it's hard as dicks and Stop-Motion animators are freaking Wizards. Also takes a long time to do Stop-Motion.

Hand-Puppets could work if you want to take it in a comedic route, and while you could make it with real actors, it'll probably come across as really cheesy without quality-level enough actors.

So like I said at the start, 3D animation's probably your best bet.

>>46606353
lol no
>>
>>46617452
doesn't that just lead to the actors problem again though?
if you use 3D animation you still need voice actors, unless you're suggesting text to speech voices.
>>
>>46617537
Honestly when it's animated, half of the acting is done by the animator, and the other half done by the VA.

It's easier to get people to give a good VA take than to get a good take of a scene with multiple actors interacting.

It eliminates needs for location, and there's all kinds of ways to find VA's looking for unpaid work on the internet to add to their credentials.

Basically, the problem doesn't disappear, but it shrinks to the point where it's much more manageable.
>>
>>46611125
this is bullshit, finishing on a +4 is the greatest fuck you ever
>>
>>46606353
Almost. The best card game is Cutthroat Uno, where you can 'stack' Skips, Reverses, Draw Twos, WD4s, etc., and the stack resolves on the other players once you're done.

(In case you're wondering: Cards that make a player lose a turn target the next active player in the direction of play, where an active player is one that hasn't been skipped. If everyone's been skipped once, you target the next player in the direction of play who hasn't been skipped twice, etc. Being skipped multiple times only loses you one turn.

Yes, this can mean the player who played the whole stack causes everyone at the table to skip a turn. It's called Cutthroat for a reason.)
>>
>>46607033
No, when you swap, the giving of the card and receiving of someone else's hand resolve simultaneously.
>>
>>46613686
Why not just stick with fairy shit? Four colors, four seasons.
>>
>>46606353
Bullshit is more fun, in my opinion.
>>
UNO is a great game, and adding homebrew cards to it is only going to fuck it up.

Unless you use them to make it a drinking or sex game, in which case you do you.
>>
>>46621321
>you do you.
I think that's anatomically impossible.
>>
The best card would be
"Have one opponent arm wrestle another opponent. The loser draws four cards while the winner picks the new color".
>>
Poker is. /tg/ doesn't believe it but it's true.
>>
>>46621356
Unaided, perhaps. But don't underestimate modern technology.
>>
>>46621304
I used to play bullshit with my current D&D group before we actually started playing TRPGs together.
We played it about twice until one guy got bored and just started calling "bullshit" to everything until he had all the cards and nobody else could play anything
>>
>>46621392
Only if you're stronger than the other players.
>>
>>46621414
That image is just fucking unreadable without knowing some kind of moon language terminology.
>>
>>46621455
Do you even lift bro?
>>
I guess the official rules aren't too bad but the house rules I have ended up playing with have made the game a lot worse.
>>
>>46621446
Which is why I like to play it with a house rule; you can only call bullshit once per round (once per everyone taking a turn).
>>
>>46621356
>anon's never heard of or seen the auto-penetration videos
Rule of thumb is if you're skinny and got enough rope to touch your belly button you're good to go.
>>
>>46611125
>Only numbered cards can be your last
What.

I've never heard of that rule.

I always stockpiled the Wilds and Wild Draw Four cards, and just played them all when everything else was out of my hand.
>>
>>46617606
Alright, off to learn 3D animation i go!
>>
>>46613826
We 1000 blank cards now?
>>
>>46609336
>newer card that lets you play all cards of one color at once

What, do they have a card data base yet? Are there other things like this?
>>
>>46627399
Its some bullshit where you place it and shout a color, lets say blue, then everyone takes turns placing down their blue cards. At the end the game resumes off of the last blue card placed and shits back to normal. Assuming you have like 15 blue cards of various stripes and that one fucking card versus a smug bastard with 1 draw four left you insta win.
>>
>>46621477
What the fuck are you on about?
If you played poker more than once in your life, this picture is perfectly readable.

>>
>>46609336
Is there such thing as a colored draw four?
>>
>>46623793
That's the point. It encourages players to uses the non-numbered cards more frequently instead of stockpiling them till the end of the game
>>
>>46623793
>>46627993

Yeah, only 3rd edition Uno allowed you to play non-coloureds as your final cards, 2nd had it as a core rule, under the "Total-Hand-After-Card 0" rule set, which 3rd edition tried to get rid in the name of "streamlining".

Thankfully 4th and 5th edition brought back a super streamlined version of the rule.
>>
>>46627883
Poker's really fun if you play low-stakes. I'm talking "playing for random cookies at the kitchen table" sort of low-stakes. Involving money higher than $5 is a good way to lose friends.
>>
>>46627883
Don't listen to others and develop your own style first, if only to realize that your style is shit.
After that, it's all about reading other people, weighing the odds and stopping other people from reading you.
Also, which words confuse you? I'm pretty sure you can google a poker glossary real easy on the net.

>>46630631
Poker is fun to play for virtual non-currencies. I'm talking something like playing poker in MMOs or shit, where money means almost nothing. And, yeah, cookie poker (we usually play for candies) is fun.
The main problem lies in both taking the game seriously and not having too high stakes so as not to be salty in case you lose at the same time.
>>
>>46630790
Different anon was the one who couldn't understand it j just suck at poker cause my buddies only play for cash and refuse to teach me using free games.
The issue is i can't take shit straight from a book to practical and be decent at it i gotta work with it before its even usable knowledge and like i said earlier my buddies play for keeps and to win so theres no chance to actually learn or experiment.
>>
>>46631229
Play online with randoms.

Use some sort of casual MMO like Puzzle Pirates and play with randoms to get experience.
>>
>>46631229
Your friends sound like obnoxious assholes. Tell them to either teach you properly or fuck straight off.

Uno is pretty good, but I like Mau-Mau better, because imo the Uno cards are ugly.
Wizard tops both of them, luck can be frustrating, but the game can be really intense if you play with decent players. Also the art is fucking awesome.
ALSO thirty-one is the absolute goat, if you want to play for a little money.
