One of my most favorite characters was from a 2E game set in Faerun. Guy was a fighter from Mulhorand and the only magical item he had was a +1 Khopesh by level 13 or so. Anyway, the DM was running through the group through Against the Giants and man, my guy saw some shit.
>That time the Hill Giants slaughtered their followers
>That time the Dwarf Fighter jumped from the rim of an opening in a mountain into said mountain over a pair of white dragons and activated Daern's Instant Fortress, crushing the dragons beneath it
>That time the wizard used a random wand we found and a small bead came out of it. Being stupid for a moment, he set said bead in his pocket only for the bead to explode a few rounds later (delayed blast fireball spell apparently)
>Or the time my character got killed by asp venom in the fire giant's hold and then would stand next to the chests as they were opened and thrust his khopesh in to slaughter the nasty things
>Or that time my character scared a red dragon so badly that they flew off and left their horde intact long enough for the party (mostly survivors from said dragon) shoving the loot into several bags of holding and the wizard teleporting us the fuck out
>Or the time my character and the paladin slew a hydra while the wizard used fire spells to sear the wounds shut, allowing the party to, well, party afterwards.
