Let's have a thread about supers. What is your favourite system to run supers games in?
Do you prefer high-flying Avengers level play, or more street level stuff?
DC Universe, Marvel Universe, or something else?
Let's just chat about shit in general.
I still stand by the argument m&m is the definitive supers rpg.
And street level is way more fun than higher levels imo, always seems to invite more creative powers, for example in a campaign my group previously played our team consisted of
>Zombie Punisher
>An electrical conduit who could only electrify metal objects
>A roller skating cyborg
>The world's fastest origami master
I like Worlds in Peril when I want to keep close to the comic book feel.

>Zombie Punisher
Franken Castle?

>The world's fastest origami master

>world's fastest origami master
How is this used to fight crime?
So in fantasy games, the heroes meet in a tavern.
In sci fi, the heroes meet on a ship.
where would they meet in a street level supers game? Highschool/university campus? A coffeeshop? At the scene of the crime.

From what I can remember
>Folded a swarm of origami bats and hurled them at foes
>Made a giant origami statue in seconds, only to kick it down on top of a group of muggers
>Origami plant vine whips

That's actually a pretty neat application of a seemingly useless superpower.

What a shitty fucking team. Le 2 gay dudes, a lesbian, a guy who should have never made it out of the 90s, an over used character, and fucking war bird

Get a load of this faggot

Liu's run is one of the few good recent X-Men books. And fuck you, Gambit's been consistently great since Carey reintroduced him in Legacy.

>liking a character whose main sell point is that he was a closeted fag
I normally HATE rolling for stats in tabletop games.
However after reading Worm, I think I'd be willing to give it a shot for a supers game. There is a very clear disparity in power levels even among the Undersiders, but they still make it work really well. As well, I think not getting control over what powers get handed to you makes for a better, more organic character. Maybe have the group roll for powers into a pool, then divvy them up as a team?

What are my choices? So far I've only read M&M, Wild Talents and one of Marvel RPGs, not sure which one exactly.

Only the guys that don't dress like they're in a gay pride parade.
Iron Man, the Black Knight, Doctor Doom, etc >>>> Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, etc

High-flying. You can have a street-level story with literally ANYTHING. Why not play to the strengths of comics? Do something giant and fantastic, go for broke. This isn't to say I don't enjoy stuff like Punisher or Daredevil though, I've enjoyed their stuff as well, and it would be ridiculous to make them high-level. I just prefer seeing the high-level stuff though.
