Well with that you've made it pretty much impossible. Why wear such covering coat and no clothes underneath?

That looks comfy as fuck

A desert world where the only means to slay the countless fiends is through magic, and magic can only be cast through crests engraved on the body, and the crests unleash such power that clothes are a waste of resources.

Thus they only wear the coats and shawls for protection from the environment as they are easy to cast off and start casting.

Fucking vampires who cover themselves so they can move during the day but have terrible fashion sense.

The true curse of vampirism isnt that you cant go out in the sun, its that you cant go out anywhere without looking like an idiot.

If everyone is a vampire, what do they subsist on? Synthetic blood? Is it rare their society has collapsed? Do vampires fight eachother over this rare resource, like water in a desert world??

I'm old enough to know that these threads always have been and always will be shit.

Maybe tyrants own and control the means to produce synthetic blood, keeping it secret from the common people, which is why they remain in power? Kind of like the Sorcerer Kings do with magic in the Dark Sun setting.

Or you're just unimaginative and lack the will to be creative.

It is a custom in this world to wear a piece of the "Garment of Life" from one's ancestors. It is supposed to keep a part of their spirit with you, and easily identifies the country, clan or even dynasty someone is a part of.
The Garment of Life of a person is created on birth, and it is where the child will be wrapped in at first. The Garment of Life is gradually expanded; whenever a near relative dies, a part of their Garment is sown onto those of their relatives. First the children get to pick their parts, then the parents, siblings, nephews and nieces etc.

Those without a Garment of Life are the trash of society, and will be forever shunned. Those with a garment of mostly the same colours is usually quite inbred, or from a small farming community, whilst those from families of adventurers, merchants and nobles have garments in all colours of the rainbow, often with their family's insignia embroided upon them. The bigger one's Garment gets, the more respect they recieve, since they have lived through so much death and sorrow.

Garments come in all shapes and sizes, which are often, but not necessarily bound by the culture of the owner.

With that logic, you might as well try to sell me literal shit for $50 an ounce and then accuse me of being a poorfag when I refuse to buy any.
>>
>>46456760
That's a huge leap with a lot of assumptions being made. You're strawmanning.
>>
>>46456904
I'm entitled to those assumptions, and nothing you can do will take that away from me.

It's interesting. I would add that accidents where the body is lost/destroyed/cannot be recovered are considered especially devastating, since their colors can't be passed on.
I'm sure there'd be lots of fuel for family infighting too.

Desert setting. Hot in the day, cold at night. Or instead of heavy wool/cotton, maybe a flowing, light outfit that screens the sun's rays and breathes well. Think a little before bitching.
