To repeat a question that got buried last thread, what would Fate/Extra’s Appearance Customization do Post-Jump?

So I'm fairly certain I missed a thing about this, but is the Libriomancer jump kosher?

It's on the Drive, so it's fair game. After all the fixed it's become pretty reasonable as well. Not perfect, but what is?

So here's another update to the Warframe WIP: http://pastebin.com/Luuwdxf4

-Corpus, Infested, and Tenno perks completed
-Cybernetic Knowledge fleshed out
-New perk: 'Stalking The Light'
-Capstone Booster effects fleshed out

If there's any critique or balance issues, let me know please.

What's wrong with Drop-In, Anon? Why do you weep?
>>

IN ONE TURN, IT CRUMBLED SO QUICKLY, I HAD TIME FOR A SPIRITUAL QUICKIE WITH A FUJOSHI SEA GODDESS THAT POSSESSED ME! YOU AIN'T SHIT!

And to think, that's just Day 3. I love Devil Survivor.

>>46374336
Why don't you like it?
>>
>>46374401
>>46374411
I like new memories and history. I feel that drop-in misses some of the appeal of jumping for me.
>>
>>46374336
Do you knot like Drop In options in general, or that specific Drop In? Because if it's Drop Ins in general, DS Anon has hinted that you're only technically a Drop In, and you do have a history in that world that will be expanded on in part 2 when you get out of the Junkyard. Something like your background having been a Drop In in the sense that they appeared out of nowhere one day, but things having happened between then and when the jump starts. You just don't have any memories because no one in Digital Devil Saga has any memories of outside the Junkyard. At first, anyway.
>>
>>46374400
Fuck you very much now I'm gonna have to sell my firstborn for cp. Do you take souls or tears? Perhaps a cashiers check?
>>
>>46374400
RUINED MUH BUILD
>>
>>46374417
Oh, but Anon, didn't you read the description? About the memories? About the fact that Angel wants both Sera AND you? After all. you are, like Sera, a Drop-in to the SETTING, which is the Junkyard. And there's a reason why Angel wants her now TWO children back. Trust me, you have a history. But if I told you, the spoilers would be beyond your comprehension.
>>
>>46374466
Putting the fear into her that someone might say this isn't funny, even if you think it is.

>>
>>46374570
Maybe. I mean, we don't have details, there are a bunch of different ways intersexuality can manifest. But given that both halves are reproductively viable (she's both Sera's mother and father. HYPER INCEST), yeah, probably.

>>46374598
Not necessarily. Chromosomal migration during gamete formation means that you can recombine two gametes from the same person and not get the exact same genetic pattern. Same reason why two children from the same couple aren't genetically identical.

>dualism shit that sometimes pops up in Hinduism
>Sometimes
I have bad news for you, anon...
>>
>>46374598
No.
Well, yes, but really no.
People who are genuinely intersex (rather than tumblr-tier "I just feel like both a dude and a chick sometimes") are generally infertile. And if they are, they're capable of one action or the other, but not both. Ergo, they can't knock themselves up
>>
>>46374651
>I have bad news for you, anon...
I don't get your point, Annette. Dualism is a popular theme in Hinduism, but it only sometimes manifests in two gods (usually a couple) fusing together to form a combined hermaphroditic entity.
>>
>>46374640
She's...alright, I guess. Starts off appearing to be a villain, later turns out to have had some good reasons for what she did, ultimately you reconcile with her ghost in the sun (long story) and she gives you the strongest attack in the game so it's all good.

>>46374640
She USED to be. After God/Brahman destroyed the earth and started turning people to stone due to mankind, specifically the true Serph, finally crossing the Moral Event Horizon by traumatizing Sera(who was DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO HIM) and her lover became sick. He was murdered by frightened people, and so she cursed God, the world, and humanity, and sought to create a world of eternal bloodshed and suffering in order to take revenge. She gets redeemed after talking and killing/being killed by Gale, her lover's reincarnation. And then, well, see here>>46374676
>>
>>46374673
Eh, never you mind me. Just remembering that there is a whole lotta dual themes in Hindu, even beyond simple fusion shenanigans. No particular point.

So, I've been working on my first jump (very, very slowly) for the last while.

Was wondering if anyone had comments, suggestions for the last couple of perks I need to do, and/or extra items they'd like to be offered in addition to what I have.

Spacebattles, one of their mods and Mega conspired to replace the Babylon 5 jump because they don't think it grants enough power.
>>
>>46375134
>Spacebattles

>>
>>46375177
Don't remember, but Babylon got fed up with it and decided to quit.
>>
>>46375056
I was thinking about it, but I don't think I'd do a very good job. If I get inspired with a good idea or two I'll put a claim forward, right now however it's totally up for grabs.
>>
>>46375134
>because they don't think it grants enough power.

Technically, it was because the mod felt like it didn't cover the whole of the 'verse or something. Not getting to be enough different types of alien was mentioned as well.

He was still a complete cunt about it.
>>
>>46375221
Nah, he mentioned how he felt the perks were too weak.
>>
>>46375177
Not that I know of, all I know is that Merchant is from Spacebattles and that he argued on spacebattles with the mod trying to replace the Babylon 5 jump. He posted in thread about it linking to the shit to inform people about it, though he did say not to invade because it would get him banned and do nothing.
>>
>>46374974
You need to show more faith and loyalty to the Immortal Emperor. True Citizens of the Imperium would awaken at the crack of dawn to view our glorious troops in battle. Should Heresyanon see your lack of devotion, you will surely be purged.

>>46375057
This is literally what was running through my head. Why are we not funding this?

>>46375061
>>http://pastebin.com/9cav7wwz
It's really not bad for a first Jump. The first is always the roughest. Initial suggestions would be to make sure one of the Backgrounds is a Drop-In style Background, with no extra memories attached. It's a staple element and many people who run through Jump prefer them. Next, I would advise limiting Companion Imports to 8, probably for about 300 CP. Again, it's another staple element. Some people do Jump around with more than 8 Companions, but only 8 are allowed out at once in any case.

I do like the Complications though. The perks and items as well are coming along nicely. Keep it up and I look forward to the Jump.
>>
>>46375061
Really digging Christmas Crisis Averted, What Kinda Party Was This?, The Cask of Amontillado, and the deer head.

Yeah, will make sure to have a Drop-In option.

The higher Companion import limit was because of the multiplayer cap being that high in the game itself. But yeah, propably better to go with tradition in keep it to 8.

It's funny, the mod who decided he could replace peoples jumps on our drive actually said he was doing it because he wanted a jump that would get more people interested in the series, then he went and basically went out of his way to piss off as many people as possible and ensure like three people total will ever see the jump and one of those will be his mom.
>>
>>46374974
Look i'll get up early on a Saturday WHEN the Emperor gets up early on a Saturday ..... is he still sitting down .... then wake me up at noon.
>>
>>46375134
To be fair, it isn't the SB community's fault really. Mostly the mod was just being prick, but didn't actually post anything about it here or try to put it on the drive. He just posted it in the thread their and tried most of SB ignored it actually, iirc.

And the Merchant decided to come rage over here, which brought Babylon over there. At which point he acted way more melodramatic than necessary and left.

Really, that mod had proved he was a twit who doesn't listen in the past and I told Merchant he should just ignore him and let it die down.
>>
>>46375872
Fuck off, Mega. Trying to shove the blame on Merchant and Babylon because you dislike them and don't like being called out? That's low.

And I'm not blaming either of them. I just think they could have handled it better than they did.

This is the equivalent of putting your fingers in your ears and screaming about how you're right. I'm not Mega.

The mod is to blame. I don't remember exactly what Mega did, but he definitely stirred shit up.

It's just that the mod is a self-righteous asshole who only felt more and more justified the more people argued with him.

And Babylon has an account there, but he doesn't post there much and explicitly said he only came over because people were talking about it here.

Uh, no Bancho, I don't think you're understanding what I'm asking. I don't want telekinesis that precise from Misc Meta - just the precision itself.
With just the precision, I'd just have really fine dexterity and maybe increased accuracy with thrown weapons or something.

But I'm planning to combo it with YJ telekinesis, which YJ Anon said is as precise and strong as you are.
>>
>>46376378
Acid-Fire and Poison-Fire Generation.

The first functions more like a napalm flamethrower, with the fire clinging like a gel to objects and both burning and dissolving them. Works well for digging through inorganics, but can harm people just fine. I can do the human torch thing and set the left side of my body harmlessly on fire, but I can also expel it through my dominant arm.

The second functions more like a fuel flamethrower, with the fire being more like a gas. It just burns non-living material, but organics are poisoned and burned from the inside by it. Again, I can flame on with the right side of my body, and expel it through my other arm.

The notes said that the more specific a given purchase is, the stronger it becomes by default, so I didn't get a third power for either purchase.

From the little I know of PS238, I probably never used either power and just relied on martial arts and super strength due to how unbelievably lethal they are.

Yes, I used the Powerlisting wiki. Sue me.

>>
>>46376647
this is a thinker, on one hand something like that level of control over your own body doesn't seem too bad but you outright stated that you're making a combo that will let you will anything you see into a nuclear bomb... So on one hand that level of dexterity and precision does seem to fall within the purview of the power,I am very hesitant to approve it because of the ridiculous combo, but on the other hand ridiculous combos are what the game is all about, I'd say one purchase would let you work with things as fine as a human hair, maybe if you bought it three times you could get that level of precision, everyone forgets that you can stack it with itself.
>>
>>46377075
Eh, I mean you're supposed to manage jumps in a vacuum, aren't you? If someone wants to combo it with something else, that's really not the fault of any of the Jumpmaker who made the jumps they're comboing stuff from.
>>
>>46377075
I mean, I can already essentially make nuclear explosion at-will. I just want to be able to perform telekinetic surgery or a ranged version of FMA alchemy.
>>
>>46377126
Swings both ways though of course. Sometimes it feels like someone has put something into a jump because of how well it works with something else. Not saying that's what's happening here but it's worth keeping in mind.
>>
>>46377179
Well, the Telekinesis power in Young Justice lets you interact with things at a distance as if you were touching them, not just lifting them with your mind. So if you've got clapchemy you should be able to transmute at a distance.
>>
>>46377126
true but I don't want to have the next that one perk from smite+ if it bleeds+ sting+Hind-blood dagger on my hands, and I did approve it just not as cheaply as they might have liked
>>
>>46377126
>>46377185
Thing is, people say you're supposed to manage jumps in a vacuum, and then the arguments along the lines of "well why is X in your jump priced like this when there's an X2 in this jump priced cheaper?" or "Well why should I go for Y in this jump when Y2 is so much better?"

It turns into a bit of a popularity contest with people making their perks according to others' demands rather than what fits the setting.

Oh yeah to the guy who was asking about the Skull of Corruption it probably won't work on an actual god. Can't imagine one Daedric Prince could use it on another to get rid of them as if Vaermina had that much power the Daedric Princes wouldn't have collectively had to get rid of Jyggalag in the way they did.

So peak comicbook Darseid probably not. Don't think it worked on Mehrunes Dagon in Oblivion either as he counted as a creature rather than an NPC Wabbajack hilariously did but probably wouldn't in the jump either, sort of muddied the waters with this analogy. Darkseid is probably also not an NPC.

Would work on your standard less than divine superpowered peeps though. I mean the thing is still really powerful and (temporarily) copies people's equipment and shit so there are still all sorts of mad things you can do with it.

You know this makes me want to wabbajack Darkside just to see what would happen. I can accept he may be too powerful for it to work on in and of itself but I have an idea for a combo to super charge it.
First take wild mage in forgotten realms they can control random effects of magic items and should be able to empower them with their own magic, then take gift of the thousand masters from negima and then finnally take advanced magic and chaos magic from from young justice.
Also you might want to go to Percy Jackson and take Nyarlathotep as your parent for a boost to your chaos powers first...
With all of that behind it do you think it would be possible to make the wabbajack effect Darkside? Also do you think even if it did that it would have any more effect than really pissing him off?

Tazmily Village
Village Kid 50
PSI 250
Rolling Counter 400
Ultimate PSI 700
Evil Power 1300
Zoom? CP Get 1200
Copy Protection 1000

I liked this jump. Don't know the setting but it has a lot of character.

Took PSI as I'm a sucker for a power that gets better over time.

Rolling Counter is obscenely good and I would have bought it at 800 CP, something that stops you dying for a bit if you can heal in time is ridiculous, seems to read like you can get your head shot off and keep running around as long as you can regrow it in a few seconds, means you mostly just have to worry about sustained damage.

Ultimate PSI sounded pretty ultimate. Sort of wish I'd done more research than playing a lot of Smash Bros.

Evil Power just really reminded me of the Ash Statues from Morrowind so I took it. Nice and spooky. Shame it's one at a time so I can't go full Sixth House.

Zoom? CP Get makes me a weirdo. How much I mind these sorts of perks is inversely proportional to how much I care/know about the setting. Embarrassing shit is not so bad if you're never going back.

Copy Protection means tonnes of mooks everywhere and I can't stay in the setting or use a Return on it which is sort of fine.

>>46377538
I think you have to have presented a certain position before you can backtrack on it. It doesn't work on everything in the games, there's very little fluff about it so obviously it's not going to work on everything. Doesn't even work on guards but I can only assume the lore version of it would (and we can only really make assumptions as there's basically no lore on it).

>>46377644
It's very powerful in setting and Daedric artefacts basically don't make sense in other settings by their nature. This one would continue to work, would not disappear on you when it gets bored and will not try to give you unholy nightmares. The only reason it can't be reverse engineered is because the shards prevent it and make it as hard as possible. It's not a supernatural thing, it's intentionally obscured design and mental blocks.

Quick question how screwed is the world if you don't waifu anyone in Dragon Commander?
>>
>>46378000
Well, you could always just genetically engineer one, I don't think it would be that hard to make a cute cat-like winged lizard and throw in a little fire-production.
>>
>>46378175
But then wouldn't it be stuck in the jump that I made it in? I didn't buy a pod or I would just do that.
>>
>>46378000
Pseduodragons from Dungeons and Dragons are about the right size, but they're as sentient as an average Human. The problem with most dragons is that they are usually written with sentience to some degree or another.

You could always just take some genetic engineering perks and make your own if you really don't want it to be sentient. If you tool around the Rick and Morty multiverse long enough you could probably find something similar to what you're looking for.

You'd probably have to give up a Companion slot to keep it following you in any case.

>>46378160
Is there really enough to that series other than her paper powers to make a Jump around? I've only read a little bit of the series.

>>46378173
Not terribly screwed, but it will make politics /much/ harder with all the sides. You'll have to be an utterly charismatic smooth talker to get around that requirement.

>>
>>46378204
Just make sure to have it in the Warehouse once a jump ends.

So long as it isn't too intelligent, it won't be booted out.

And if it is, it counts as a child per certain commonly accepted house rules. 'scool.
>>
>>46378204
intelligences you or your companions create are grandfathered in, and unintelligent life doesn't need a pod ,don't worry too much about it.
>>

>>46378224
There is a hell of a lot in Read or Die, and several power sets.
>>
>>46378086
You should be able to. There are two main reasons why Tinkertech is difficult to mass produce. The first is that Tinkers don't actually know what they're building. The Tinker shard does all the hard work, up to and including subconsciously guiding the parahuman to correct for even the most minor flaws in their materials. They can get levels of precision and quality control that shouldn't be possible. This lets them get around the second problem with mass-producing Tinkertech, that Tinker shards intentionally throw in lots of pointless bits and intentional errors. Go with a direct analysis of a Tinkertech device and it will rarely work, because without a Tinker's quality control the thing is just pointless circuitry leading nowhere. Reverse-Engineering lets you actually understand what you're doing with that Tinkertech, though, so you should be able to mass produce it. It would be hard, but not impossible.

As for getting more magic, I suggest the Devil Survivor jumps and taking the "you are a major character" perks in each. Those both give you really powerful magic, and the one in DS2 gives you billions of years of experience with it (you might want to get some identity-protection perks like Murphy, It's You or Heart of a Child first, help keep your personality intact).

Non-sapient life doesn't need a pod or to be a companion to be brought with you. You just want a pet, not a person, so it can hang out in the Warehouse just fine.

If you're okay with a familiar why not go Teru in Ar Tonelico? One of their breeds specifically comes with a small dragon familiar.

>>
>>46378443
It's about mercenaries that work for the royal British library recovering rare books, also a world ending terrorist organization that they have to stop because they plan to kill everyone in the world with the work of I think Beethoven. At least that's part of it and the movie, the anime covers different characters and there are several light novels and other things.

Escaflowne could be interesting, but i think it would be hard to actually find enough content to fill the jump with.

It's been awhile since i've watched the show (assuming that's what you use, the manga is almost completely different), but i don't think there'd be that many different things to turn into perks in that setting.
>>
>>46378443
No. It's sort of a superhero action thriller series. The plot's about the secret war between two ancient conspiracies who in the modern day disguise themselves as intelligence agencies that are further disguised as the British and Chinese national library services. Together with the main character being a bibliophile who can telekinetically control paper, and "Read or Die" makes as much sense as any other name.

TLDR Story:
I'm not going to talk about things too much on the board, because I kind of twisted things to fit a running narrative that I've built up. Basically, it's like the title up there says. I owed Ezel (yes, Ezel from FFTA) a favor, which he sold to some higher power/demon/ancient horror. It got traded a few more times before something decided to cash it in. The Jump Coordinator went along with it because it thought it would be good entertainment. I was given a choice, sacrifice all seven of my Companions or go into Black Lagoon and murder ten of the most prominent characters.
Guess which one I choose?

That actually sounds pretty cool, especially the whole "recovering rare books" idea. There's a lot of literature and knowledge that has been lost over the years. And may I assume that jumping this will also give us a chance to grab paper magic?

>>
>>46378554
The jump is using both of the two manga, the movie, though I am primarily basing things on the original anime. You can pick which one of the settings you go to, though I have perks based on each just most being the original anime, and I plan to add scenarios that are a nod to each setting. Currently I think I may be able to fill out a pair of perks at each discount level for 5 backgrounds, and I have some of a Guymelef Customization section completed. Items are the hardest section so far, and how to handle Atlantean technology is giving me a headache. Though I'm also being kind of slow about it. I will note that I am having a hell of a lot easier time coming up with perks for it than I did with Akame ga Kill, that kicked my ass because everything in setting seemed so focused on fighting.

Beethoven wrote a memetic kill agent in a song. Clones are of important historical figures and have superpowers in line with their history, and view themselves as superior to the rest of humanity. Yea the liquid metal stuff is already in the Guymelef Customization section and free with a particular Guymelef you can buy(you can also import mech or just suits of armor as a guymelef with a price by size and so long as you buy a Guymelef) also a perk most of the tech Zaibach has at 400cp with a discount. Though I haven't gotten around to it I mean to add in a couple of upgrades to the liquid metal, including a projectile option that we only see like three times in the series, and another option to just have a shitload of the metal.

Hmm... In GUNNM Jump, does one need to take both Last Order and Legitimate Existential Angst to follow the basic story of the Manga, or is Last Order alone enough?

Pretty sure just Last Order is enough.

Question: I've noticed that some Jumps just dont have companion import options and while for some I agree they should have the options for others I really want to bring the party.

Would it be reasonable to have the typical 50-400 cost with 300 cp in something like the FMA jump even though its not actually in the jump?

On a scale of 1 to rip canon, how much would things get better for Harry Dresden if I make him an Intelligent Device that can survive DF magic? Because I have enough perks that helps the stuff I make survive just about anything now.

You mean like you can buy in the fate jump? It's not at all like a NP, it's also stated by Valeria to be the equivalent of B rank mana.

You can probably run things that way if you want, but I wouldn't talk about it too much on the boards. In the end, this whole process is a single player game, so nobody is going to stop you from doing Companions like that in all Jumps. It would still be best not to flaunt it.

You can bring your companions anywhere, imports just give them new things. If you want them to come along on the adventure that's fine.

>>46379598
20 CP out of a 150 CP budget.

People either don't waste their budget on it, buy 1-3 to grab specific people in the future, or get all seven.

I find the latter options intellectually dishonest, as they require me to know how trivial what else I am being offered really is in the long run.
>>
>>46379598
>Isn't that for marriage?
What? do you have something against Marriage? Are you some kind of filthy slut or something that want's to do things with people and have them come with you without marrying them?
>>
>>46379664
Well the thing about the Stasis Pods is: they also guarantee resurrection for whoever's in them, and they allow you to stretch past the 8-active-companions limit (meaning you could technically have 9, 10, 11, so on and so forth active people).

I myself use them to save characters who have it shitty in one setting, and shuttle them to another for a 'blank slate' start.
>>
>>46379431
You can buy stasis pods (and the most efficient way to use them is in combination with No Game No Life's Summoning ability, basically you can swap anyone you've met along your travels, in and out of pods) or the Blue Feather from Harvest Moon lets you marry people and thereby turn them into companions. (Consummation seems to be optional)

Reads more like a reverse engineering perk to me than a combine the mechanical systems you know perk. Besides people tend not to view tech as incompatible except for things like the tech in Gundam 00 that relies upon a specific particle and are really awkward to explain how you could possibly combine it with other types of tech. Besides there was already Hydra Blueprints from the Marvel Cinematic Universe jump.

Hydra blueprints in MCU already lets you do this.

my mind went on a tangent reading that and decided we need a jump that can Flowers for Algeron jumpers
for those who don't know, Flowers for Algeron is a story of a man who gained hyper intellect, then lost it, and because he could remember what it was like to be smart while being dumb, could no longer function in society
So in a Jumpers case, it would do something ridiculous like give you post-spark power and then take it all away at the last minute
but what setting would be good for it?

This done, I make my way to Texas, where I'd started a small company. There, I build a rocket set to go into the Solar System, and arrive back in 5 years time. I stash the bottle into the rocket, and launch that fucker.

The next five years are spent training and developing weapons for the army to use to do some good ole Nazi killing.

Though that makes me wonder, would Extra be manageable early on if I avoid drawbacks?
>>
>>46381319

>>
>>46381277
Yeah, but people never feel the need to justify their technological impossibilities with that like they do with using Conjoined Conjures for their magical impossibilities. There's a tendency to take technology for granted that way.

>>46381319
I'm not talking about just combining tech, I'm talking about combining tech from universes with vastly different physical laws. Like, say, using Star Trek technology combined with anything based off of non-technobabble physical principles. You shouldn't get straightforward fusions. You should get some weird random output that makes little sense as the physics conflict between the two parts.
>>

No there is no clause, that is an interpretation that many people have, not a ruling. The ruling is Fanwank it.

>Some idiot gets butthurt about some stupid shit and you guys take his bait.

I've got some questions about the Undertale jump:
If you don't have any companions, can you take Lost Souls for essentially free points?

If you're human in the jump, does the whole killing intent making "even toy weapons lethal against those with weaker SOULs" thing stick around after the jump and apply to things with physical bodies?

Is it possible to be human without basically jumpstarting the plot and replacing Frisk? Can you just win the monsters over and hang out 'till Frisk shows up?

Do you have to worry about Flowey using SAVE/LOAD to try to kill you before Frisk shows up? I've heard people make claims both ways, but I don't think I've ever seen anything from the author.
>>
>>46381383
It is. It's definitely possible to do just with the Servant you get in jump. It won't be easy but it's not going to be overwhelmingly hard either.
>>
>>46381438

>>46381391

>>
>>46381445
>>If you don't have any companions, can you take Lost Souls for essentially free points?
Technically, yes, but only because they're no restriction written into the Drawback itself. You'd be a horrible human being for doing so though.

>>If you're human in the jump, does the whole killing intent making "even toy weapons lethal against those with weaker SOULs" thing stick around after the jump and apply to things with physical bodies?
Short version, no. This is more a product of the monsters having weaker SOULs than it is you gaining any kind of significant power. Think of it as a rule of the setting more than an official power up.

>>Is it possible to be human without basically jumpstarting the plot and replacing Frisk? Can you just win the monsters over and hang out 'till Frisk shows up?
Yes. In the intro text it says that you show up 5 years before the start of the game, when Frisk shows up. So you would replace one of the other unnamed Humans that fell down beforehand and were killed by Asgore. What happens because of that is entirely up to you.

>>Do you have to worry about Flowey using SAVE/LOAD to try to kill you before Frisk shows up? I've heard people make claims both ways, but I don't think I've ever seen anything from the author.
Not the author, not going to make a claim either way. You'll have to make your own decision here.

I would like to point out, again, that I'm not the author. The above comments are just my opinions on the matter after reading through the Jump and knowing the Source Material well.

>This is more a product of the monsters having weaker SOULs than it is you gaining any kind of significant power.
That thought occurred to me, but then I was left wondering what the benefits are to being human in this jump if their power is only good for this one jump because of the mechanics.
>>
>>46381778
I think me but in fairness it was a middle jump and I did take powers roughly equivalent to the protagonists, and I had a lot of backup.
>>
>>46381778
Illusionary Dance (+300 CP) - Dracula slumbers fitfully, and those who serve the dark are prepared to take advantage of this. In addition to any rebirths you could expect from the timeline, there will be a number of attempts to resurrect him, and at least one WILL succeed no matter your efforts. Each time he is reborn, Dracula will learn more of what you can do; by his true rebirth, he will be a terrible foe indeed.
You took a drawback that guarantees you'll have to fight him at LEAST twice...And then only fought him once. And then you took the drawback that makes his minions damn near hyper competent, so they should actually be able to revive him MORE than twice. Aside from this, you stored the Lord of All Evil, the Prince of the Night, and the Servant of the Primordial Chaos' soul...And you put it in a glass bottle. Seriously? This is ignoring the fact that Dracula is a being powerful enough to enslave DEATH. And that that was centuries before the era you started in, where his power would be far greater. In other words, you essentially said "No, I walk into his castle, kill him and all his minions even though it wouldn't be that easy WITHOUT the drawback, trapped him in a glass bottle when trapping him in a fucking eclipse didn't do the job completely, and I only faced him once, even though the OTHER drawback guarantees I'll fight him at LEAST twice." That's what the problem is. Maybe clarify? I don't think you're that kind of a person, but the way you wrote it, that's how people are going to perceive you. I mean, admittedly the eclipse thing was at the height of his power but he's only one rebirth behind.
>>
>>46381999

>>
>>46382042 to be fair it's a very magic whip

I will agree to this, though I will also point out that the Belmonts ARE a family of vampire hunters with holy relics. That's still not much though, I agree, so them killing Death is either incredibly impressive for them or incredibly lame for him.
>>
So is it possible to do Light of Terra as an early jump and still survive? I mean you lose all your powers anyways, so it has to be possible as an above average human.
>>
>>46382087
Depends on how early and what jumps you already have. I'd focus more on jumps that give you actual skill as opposed to powers or such, because I think you get to keep skill and experience. Could be wrong, though.
>>
>>46382123
so I'd keep Savant but lose Aura if I took both from Pokemon?

>>
>>46381890
Monster Cat from Soul Eater. Souls are not SOULs, but SOULs are souls, and the nine are your own meaning you can take them along.

Once you get just 6 of these babies, you start being able to do some serious shit. Spoilers obviously.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pL5STXqyBK4

No SAVE/LOAD means no large scale Jumpertale/My World shenanigans, but generic low-level reality warping and a spooky super form is still neat.

Although, you might want to buy Undertale magic. Just to be certain you can actually harness that power directly.

I'm unimaginative and afraid of either of the Jumpmakers popping to say no to it and ruining any long term planning, so I pretty much use it like glue to hold together powers/science/magic that doesn't merge by default for convenience's sake and filling in gaps for things that I don't need to do but want to without going out of my way to get combo pieces.
>>
>>46382186
Maybe? I think it's more you lose the perks but not the skill you've gained FROM perks. Like, if you've been to a jump, and while you were there, someone said "Hey, let me teach you x" then you would still retain that. Or if you have a learning perk, and you used that to master how to shoot accurately or how to be a good sword fighter, you would still know how. Or something.
>>46382204
EHAHEHEAHHAHAHA! That would be my best written version of that nightmarish laugh.
>>
>>46382204
You should grab a monster SOUL, too, if you want to take full advantage. Adding monster SOULs into the mix gives improved ability to manipulate the power, thus the difference in strength between Photoshop Flowey and the Absolute God of Hyperdeath. It helps that the Absolute God of Hyperdeath had all the monster SOULs put together, which together had as much energy as a single human SOUL.

>>That thought occurred...
The benefits to being Human in the Undertale Jump is the ability to make your own story instead of following the one that already exists. Additionally, you get the discount on a number of nice Perks. Other than that, like most Backgrounds, you don't gain a significant advantage just for taking it outside of the Jump itself. There are examples of Backgrounds that do, but this isn't meant to be one of them.

It really is just a mechanic of the Jump.

For Example:
In my upcoming Jump, Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, one of the mechanics of the world itself is that Technology and Magic are extremely hostile to each other. In this world, sufficiently advanced Technology tends to react violently in the presence of magic. If you are a mage of /any/ strength in this world, expect to sit a few cars back from a Steam Engine when you try to board a train. If you are a moderately powerful caster, expect to sit in the last few cars. A powerful mage is kept from even boarding the train platform itself, for fear of the engine simply exploding due to their mere presence.

Now, that's an extreme, but common example of a hard and fast rule of anyone coming in to do the Jump. It's a mechanic of the Setting itself. It will not follow you or give you any significant bonus after the Jump is over, but, like being a Human in Undertale, there are special considerations you have to look out for.
>>
>>46382359
If I remember correctly, doesn't it work the other way around too, where sufficiently complex technology can actually inhibit the casting of spells?
>>
>>46381999
Anon, you didn't even give me the chance to finish my little story. Who said I only fought him once?

First time doing this, decided to do some research before I got into it and have a general plan because I plan on turning this into a Journal Entry style story, how's this sound?
>JUMPER THEME:
Twisted Fate (All the fancy clothes, get magic that lets me use cards to attack, be smooth as fuck)
>CHAIN THEME:
Bonds Eternal (Me and my crew, we keep each other safe and live together forever, and fuck anyone who tries to stop that)
>PLANNED COMPANION LIST:
Vivi (an Umbreon)
Klein
My light of Terra companion
>PERSONAL RESTRICTIONS:
Guns and magic only (no swords, no axes, nothing melee)
take at least two drawbacks
must bring death and destruction upon things that attempt to alter my mind or my companions’ minds
must remain in human form at all times (no alt forms)
must always take drop-in
if a companion dies, they’re gone for good
can only have 3 companions (that’s not active, that’s total)
>GOALS:
Look out for companions and keep them alive at ALL COSTS
turn the Light of Terra into a factory that makes the Warehouse irrelevant and make it capable of FTL travel that doesn’t involve the warp because holy fuck NOPE
get Klein laid (this is probably the most difficult one on the list)

make Vivi a Death Scythe (not actually a scythe that's too fucking edgy)

Uhh... could you suggest a perk that would prevent the mere arrival of magic-heavy jumpers from causing "I accidentally the city", or include such a perk in the jump?

Otherwise I'm either going to have to hope I roll somewhere out in the sticks, and stay there, or hop in the handbasket.

(sidenote: wikipedia seemed to imply tech and magic render each other non-functional rather than violently exploding, is it inaccurate?)

You could make items like that without EX rank, seems like it'd be simple to make those with just the lower ranks of IC since they're just simple enchanted items.

EX rank only gives you the ability to make Noble Phantasms. You can get a good level of skill from previous ranks of IC, but that's mostly on magical item creation rather then focused in any one crafting skill.

Lucifer is universe busting, and Errai will eventually reach the point that he will be able to create and destroy billions of universes. The only reason they're not suicide options is because neither of them are at full power. Let me put it this way: These two make Chakravartin and the Chaos Gods look like bit players.

Errai can just erase you from existence if you're not careful and try to fight him before bringing him down to a more manageable level.

Oh gawd, you're actually serious

There is nothing in the Hellsing series that holds a candle to anything from SMT with the possible exception of Schrodinger's quantum existence being an OCP-and even that wouldn't help once one of the major players gets serious.

I frankly don't believe in your literally "infinite" mantra hack but suffice to say that Chakravartin, the creator of Mantra, is NOT stronger than the two people you just listed. And your only hope, with the former, is he's holding back.

The stuff in the jumps they hail from gives you a chance not instantly die. There's stuff in other jumps, but you really shouldn't consider taking a stab at SMT until you've been to like, 300-400 jumps as a secure arsenal of things you can fall back on
>>
>>46383204
Monotheist isn't available, apparently, it says in the Mantra section. Maybe that's just what you can buy?
>>
>>46383257
That was my assumption, it was just not available to buy and if you really wanted it you'd have to find it yourself. But if it's not available at all...yeah, those Almighty attacks are going to be a nightmare. Monotheist is the only way to get Null Almighty that I know of. I think you could in theory get Resist Almighty in the Persona jump, but not Null Almighty. Guess he'll just need to boost his HP and magic defense stats up super high, then.
>>
>>46383058
I am planning on having a +0 CP Drawback that would allow you to "shut off" specific powers for the duration of the Jump so people don't feel locked in to a path based on their previous Jumps, as well as a larger CP Drawback that will shut off /all/ your outside powers.

It's not on that large of a scale in any case, even extremely powerful wizards only affect things within a few hundred feet at the most.

The wiki is right, but not 100% right. Tech and Magic can render each other non-function, but it isn't the only critical failure that might occur. Flintlock pistols and Rifles can violently explode in the hands of a mage because of all the explosives involved. Magic swords might simply refuse to work in the presence of powerful technology. In that case, a sword can't really explode, But steam engines certainly can. On the flip side, Summoned Demons, when exposed to high technology are more likely to break free of the spell binding them and start ripping the mage a new one. But a Light Spell would probably just fizzle out. So you can imagine what a duel between a Steam-Powered Armored Fusilier and a Powerful Mage would probably look like.

Those are all just examples. Basically what an item does when it critically fails in the presence of its opposite half depends on what the item is.

... I swear I'll try to make it all make more sense when I actually write out the Jump.
>>
>>46383327
Monotheist is Null Attack, not Null Almighty. Almighty attacks and status effects ignore it entirely.

>combining tech from universes with vastly different physical laws. Like, say, using Star Trek technology combined with anything based off of non-technobabble physical principles. You shouldn't get straightforward fusions. You should get some weird random output that makes little sense as the physics conflict between the two parts.

I actually do think about this. It's why I (over)compensate by researching things like quantum stabilisation (thank you, Aspect of Stasis), using powerful energy sources like the PEM/orgels/S2 Engines/Gravity Furnaces/dark matter warp drives to compensate for higher energy requirements and integrating magic/psychics/alchemy into the systems to make them more robust. I just never really get asked much on the nitty-gritty of it, and in any case I did take HYDRA Blueprints to fiat away the more advanced fusions

Oh dear. Uh. Does this cover spiritual energy, psychic powers or divine might? Also how powerful is the effect? If you have divine powers over protection can you just theoretically just hold your magic and science together through god powers since they aren't either?

Also, does the rule apply to magitechalchemysoulstuff you've built yourself from other realities? If you're basically made of combinations of magic and science, will you basically implode on arrival here? If so, we may finally get a chance to stress-test those post-DxD safety countermeasures.

Finally, what is the nature of this effect? If you can create a pocket realm or walk outside reality (not outside the jump but say, to a neighbouring pocket realm either in the setting or one you own like Bradeline's Well) and work magic and science together, can you escape the effect?

I'll be honest with you: If you want to take on Lucifer, you're going to need 300-400 jumps worth of experience and perks, as this>>46383249 Anon said. He's simply too powerful, otherwise. Asura's Wrath might allow you to do some physical damage, but that will mean nothing in the third phase of the fight, where he will reflect all physical attacks right back at you. For that phase, you're going to want ALL the magical power and defense you you can get, in order to defend against Megidoladyne, which he WILL spam and it will only get stronger with each use. Perhaps you might have a better chance if you gain Resist Almighty from Persona, but no matter what you do you MUST make sure you can keep the magical assault going. With what you have now, you WILL die. By the time you fight Lucifer, you're going to want to be a magical god on your own. And then you may have a small chance to survive his equivalent of a sparing match.

Yep! Rider, as per our Darksiders occupation.

Ours was an EX Rank Anti-Planet, with the effect of generating A+++ Territories along any Type-Moon native form of magic we cast. The Anti-Planet part occurs when it actually hits something solid, expanding into an artificial network of leylines to which we're automatically attuned to (think Souren Araya, but remotely controlled) that lasts until the next time the sun rises. So doing Caster's beamspam trick would briefly make the battlefield into something we can mould and shape.

Well, at least it was. Just like how Saber went full Alter after being exposed to the black mud, so we too buffed our Noble Phantasm by using our embodied personification of evil powers to make it much buffer and grant it an effectively limitless tap of energy. Also after hijacking the Moon Cell, we used Elven Enchantment to essentially turn it into our own One Ring-equivalent. Except instead of diminishing itself, we summoned and bound numerous Divine Spirits-Ea, Mardukth, Susano to name a few-after trading total control of the Moon Cell and sacrificing them to increase its' power.
>>
>>46383665
Hey Val, I'd like your opinion of if these are the correct ranks:

>Hunger of the Lance (C>A+) - 200
The Noble Phantasm can assimilate other items into itself, gaining their abilities and the being able to shift into the form of any items it's assimilate. However, the wileder of this Noble Phantasm must be the owner of the other item for it to be assimilated. For ownership to be gained, the item must have been bought from the previous owner, given freely by them, or taken after they are defeated.

>Lance of the Archmage (E>B+) - 250
Any magical abilities used while wielding this NP are automatically 1.5x stronger. By paying double the cost of the magic, it can instead be boosted to 3x stronger.

>Heaven-Piercing Lance (E>C) - 100
The accuracy of the Lance when thrown is dramatically increased, allowing for it to hit a bird in flight from over a mile away, and to return to the wileder's hand at-will. It can easily be blocked or dodged, however.

They're all applied to a single weapon. (That's allowed, right?)

Oh snap, the post cut off somehow.

Anyway, our second Noble Phantasm's an A+++ Anti-Thamaturgy that spawns wires around anyone in visual range, which bind them and absorb their magical energy. There's normally about enough chain to bind 4 people, but more can be produced if some of the absorbed magical energy is channeled to making more wire.

>>
>>46384190

>>46384217
Ergh, I'd really just say it's too open ended an ability. At EX you could have it work on lower level weapons (Maybe D-C rank at max?), but you'd be really better off using one of the several ways in the chain to fuse weapons, like Aion or one of the FF jumps.

So many questions! They are excellent ones to keep in mind for when I go to actually write the Jump though. At the moment this is all theorycrafting based on what I remember from the game. When I dig into things and the wiki I'm sure some of my answers will change.

Firstly, >>46383360. As far as spiritual, psychic, and divine magics would work in the setting, I do believe many of them will be classified as "magic" for the sake of the Jump. Please do not quote me on that later if it changes. I do promise to look into it.

Magi-Tech would, in all likelyhood, implode/explode at the mere contact with this universe's rules. They're just not compatible. Should you be made up of combinations of magic and technology, I might suggest take the Total Power Shutoff Drawback I'm going to be introducing into the Jump. As I said in >>46383360, selective and total power shutdown Drawbacks will be available so I don't have to make rulings on things until the end of time.

As for your last question, it is simply a mechanic of the universe. For whatever reason, that is the unshakable nature of things. Like mater and anti-matter. I really don't know what would happen if you created a pocket realm or were able to walk outside the reality of the Jump itself. I will did deep into the lore of the setting to find out, but I can't promise the answer might not be "wank it".
>>
>>46384254
Ah. Oh well, thanks anyway.

Well, for the Aion one, I need a shapeshifting weapon. Would that work for a NP ability, and if so, could I use it with the Crafter to fuse with one type of weapon, shift to another type and fuse, etc?

And I actually didn't know there was a way in FF jumps?
>>
>>46384351
Sure, just having your weapon take on any shape you want (Within reason, it's still a handheld weapon) should be fine as a low rank thing. D rank, maybe C at the very most.

Apparently that's how crafter works.

I've heard there is. but I can't remember which exact jump.

>>
>>46384301
EX rank Luck, I believe. "Opening your mind to the heavens" generally causes you to turn into an unslightly blob with stars in your skin that gets mercy killed by another hunter rather than intuiting success.

A high Divinity rank would be appropriate if you collected the umbilical cords too
>>
>>46384396
You know, there are actually quite a few perks that make souls stronger now. I wonder how much that would improve the Angel form...
>>
>>46384379
Actually, what would a shapeshifting weapon be when taken to extremes? Say you want to have a weapon that can change into a building-sized sword, a mile-long pole in the style of Goku's power pole, extremely long chains that you can control, etc.
>>
>>46384410

>>
>>46384483
I'd imagine it be something like Hero of a Thousand Faces in Negima.
>>
>>46384410
Actually, I've been meaning to ask if the Luck stat really does increase luck or if it's just a conceptual defense.

Reposting question.
Another Young Justice question, this one about companions. You can buy sentient (and seemingly sapient) items that don't count as companions while in item form. That's all well and good if you buy them (really, I love the idea) but what happens if a companion buys them? Could you import them to give them other powers and they then go back into their item form to travel with the companion that 'owns' the item (or paid for it at least)? Or does the 'can swap between being a companion and being an item' thing only apply to items you buy?
>>
>>46384312
Wait, I'm just stepping in here without really checking much of the context of this discussion, but abilities from other jumps are going to be fucking with tech in this jump? Or am I misunderstanding?
>>
>>46384552
So it's just pretty much a waste of CP unless you're really worried about Gae Bolg or something?
>>
>>46384589
It's a matter of opinion, I would say
Defying fate might not always be useful but when it is it's be very useful
>>
>>46384543
Ah. I guess it depends on how much you want it to do/how big you want it to get. I think someone once wanted an EX rank version of that and based it off of the total amount of tonnes of material they had to work with. It was 100 tonnes, pretty sure. If that doesn't seem like much, keep in mind the average longsword was only a kilo or two, so you could instantly make a rain of tens of thousands of magical swords, though they wouldn't individually be NP tier.

>>46384589
Pretty much, unless you have specific situations or opponents in mind. It's about as useful in canon as it is in jumpchain. I suppose the one thing it has going for it is that while it is very rarely useful, when it is useful it's generally the only thing that let's you survive.
>>
>>46384568
If a companion buys them, and you want to import their item to give it additional abilities, you import the companion that bought the item first and then you also import the item afterwards. Once they've been upgraded, they can switch back to being an item, and you can replace their slot with a regular companion.

Few Castlevania questions:

Can I get more Apples of life by teleporting/picking the seeds out, without them being consumed?

Would things like Alucard's Spear/ the Alchemic Whip/ anything else that is super effective against 'forces of evil' have the same effect on the forces of Chaos?

Further, would Power of Dominance (at least partially) guard a psyker from the perils of the warp?

Actually "basically magic" accurately describes what happened to one of the GUNNM characters but don't worry, Don Fua's a special case since he basically reconsituted himself Dr Manhatten-style after mastering a form of dimensional manipulation technology.

He's basically Dr Manhattan if Dr Manhattan invented Space Karate.

Erm. Depending on how strongly you feel about hard science you may also wanna cap your companion's evolution at Imaginos V. 1 levels since somewhere between V. 2 and V. 2.1 Alita starts doing things like pulling herself together from a state of pure energy, transmute any nearby metal into a stronger form she can control and prevents an orbital city from falling from space by transforming into a gigantic nanomachine hacker tree

I'm well aware of Don Fua. But as I'm not using a D-Ripper engine, I'm not worried about that happening. And it's not the weird and exotic aspects of "space magic" that I dislike so much as it is the uniformity of it. You know, where you just have to throw up your hands at trying to figure out any explanation and chock it all up to some inexplicably universal bit of unobtanium. GN Particles can do anything the plot requires of them, they're impossible to get a handle on. I'm fine with Clarke's Third Law so long as each case of breaking physics has sufficiently unique explanation for how it happens. Battle Angel Alita is great for me, in that respect. The transmutation is Imaginos nanomachines, the matter-energy conversion is the Jovian Wormhole Relay, the antimatter punches are internal supercolliders, the space-warping is an FTL drive...there's variety, there. That's my problem with GN Particles, saying "particles did it" is BORING.

Wait-so GN Particles are really Timelord-did-it levels of plot devicehood? They seemed to be some fairly explainable applications of quantum entanglement and superstructuring judging from what they're used for in the jump, surely they can't be that bad in the show?

For PS238's Miscellaneous Meta perk, would the ability to sense solid objects and potential and kinetic energy in a 50 meter radius be applicable?

Not the maker, but Toggle reads like basically the perk version of the drawbacks the maker is talking about (i.e. you can just dial down/off your magic or tech powers when you don't want things to explode and dial them back up/on when you do...).

Sort of. It's not so bad in season 1, where GN Particles do really cool things but are consistent in their abilities. But in season 2 they pull random upgrades for the 00 Raiser out of nowhere, with the half-explained rationale for them being "something something quantum something". Like, the Trans-Am Burst, that was dumb and anyone who says differently is lying or an idiot. Combine that with how every single interesting technology was GN Particle-based and it soured me on them really fast. No one even bothered doing anything with previously-existing tech, which sucked because Gundam 00 has some of the most advanced pre-Gundam tech of any of the series'. You know what I mean, how the Gundams are a revolution in mobile suit technology and before that things were relatively low-power? Well, that's the case in 00, but since 00's Gundams are so OP the prior tech had to be really cool to make it not seem entirely like a curbstomp. So the series is basically one long train of "fuck our cool technology, let's all jerk off to these magic space particles that can seemingly do anything", and that made me pretty bored with the whole concept.
>>
>>46385784
Nah, I feel like ASA would embrace that one.

The irony value of the Anti-Spiral being the Spiral Alchemist is funnier.
>>
While we're talking about alchemy, are hands absolutely nesessary for clapchemy, or is it possible to do it with, for example, your feet or something similar? I ask because I'm wondering whether that would be a viable workaround after losing an arm to Truth, or if I should find the points to get an automail.
>>
>>46385869
You could probably do it with your feet. You need to have two limbs involved to do it, though. You're still using a transmutation circle, you're just making it with your body by forming a loop. So you'd either have to jump up and clap your heels together or reach down with your arm to touch one of your feet. Both sound awkward to use in combat. So I recommend getting automail, you don't really need to buy it with CP, that just gets you better-quality automail without having to hunt down a good mechanic. You could just buy an arm the old fashioned way, if you're willing to go without until you get it commissioned.

>embrace

l-lewd

>>46385869
I don't remember, but I could swear someone who did that version of clapchemy clapped the severed stump of where his old arm used to be. I would think you could do it with your feat, though. Alchemy is kinda conceptual, the series is resolved by someone trading their own capacity to do alchemy for example.
