Metal is layered up to runefang steel, second is two layers of guilliman blue, third is waywatcher green layer, and fourth is one final layer of guilliman blue and then details. Takes a while but pretty easy.

I can't imagine a whole lot that can take Horus and 2000pts of Justaerin in a straight fight. Black Reaving gets them Deep Strike while you're at it, and every single one of them can be a W2 BS5 Plasma Termie that happens to beat face as well.

That's what they are, Perty is the breaker and Dorn is the builder. Turns out the skillsets overlap, if you're good at destroying fortifications you have to understand how to best set them up and vice versa.

Guys, i always loved AL with scaled armour, but i never see people suggesting it when talking about paint schemes,only glazed metal and blue highlighted with green. Would scales be unfluffy? When did AL start having them?

AL specific torsos have scales as do their special characters. It's just not usually on their regular marines but it can be.

Anyway those scales look great starting from blue and being highlighted green. Really plays with the color scheme well.

People talk about the metallic turquoise a lot because it's their pre heresy color scheme in the FW HH books. They can be pretty much any combination of blue/ green, silver and actually reddish purple

That's because it's a decision you make during the modeling phase. By the time it's time to paint, you either have scales or don't. I've never seen anyone try to paint scales on a model that didn't have them molded on.

Different flavor of conqueror, more focused on personal achievement and warrior skills as opposed to straight organization. It shows in their legions.

Alpharius and Lorgar don't really care about building empires/kingdoms, which makes it hard to compare them in the same way.

In military strategy against an unfortified position (so hiding behind any random crap) that is the minimum suggest numerical superiority. Against an actual fortified position, 5 to 1 is the bare minimum, 10 to 1 is preferred. Simply put had Horus actually managed to win at Terra it would have been an epic fucking victory, especially considering how well fortified it was.

Void shields and generally you dont want nuke resources or critical locations you might want to use.

Rate my new Blood Angels list, I wanted to keep a solid assault element while maximizing dakka to stay in the spirit of the legion. I feel like I could optimize the troop squads better. and the dreads are probably too costly but at least it's guaranteed fun. Host of Angels is a pain.

Pretty much all characters that have a variation of the rule 'take squad x as troops' just say 'are troops' or 'may be taken as troops'.

The Recon Company RoW specifically states Recon squads are Compulsory. And that makes sense, since it's a recon company, what would something like Breachers be doing there?

You can skip the extra layers by using Tamiya Clear, but the end effect will probably look different from that because it'll be a single smooth green/blue instead of the mixing you see in that photo.

mixed; they use their original bases. I think that 32mm is better for marines because marines are bigger than humans who can stick with 25mm bases for all I care. Minis with jump packs are also more stable on the board and it gives a bonus against templates (well, marines are also tougher than normal humans).

It was all so fast, yet so easy - natural, like you were born riding a horse. Then transition to a jetbike was the natural order of things. Back when you had a body that could ride, that is. Even on foot you were fast, many a time you foiled the enemy's aim by suddenly changing direction, rolling, feinting. Now you are resilient, as resilient as the metal that makes up your chest (face?). You look at the Contemptor chasis of your brother-ancients, their forms resembling a man, shielded. Faster than yours, more resilient than yours. Were they also braver than you? Maybe if you fight well they'll make you a Contemptor, like how they appointed you sergeant that time. Ultramarines have a pretty unique playstyle (ironically enough, AL are the actual Vanilla +1 legion of 30k) and their unique units +rowboat all have excellent models. Their LA rules represent their rigid but effective mannerism.

Dubs, how would you use Saboteurs? It'd be nice if they could be attached to recon, seeker or headhunter squads, but their usefulness is pretty much spent after arriving.

They're nothing special. BaC body/legs/arms with the DA veteran head with hood and bionic eye, Godwyn bolters with the IG mortar sight on them like a red dot, one of the trench knives from the old SW sprue, and the metal AL shoulder pads. And the sergeant is in Corvus armor instead.

Very simple, but it keeps it tied to the rest of the army.

Whenever he infiltrates, either he destroys the vehicle or he stuns it so that he can close and finish the job. I could see it working great with Dynat, I like it.

If you count pre-heresy it's Loken for the SoH. He wrecked Lucius' shit and the only time he ever lost was because his opponent was in better, fresh armor when he had been through literally months of fighting. Plus a power fist. And he still lived
