So. RWBY was fun.
I spent the majority of my time hitting in NDGO, both in general and in specific. And when I wasn't doing that...I was hitting on Weiss.

Not that I expected or even desired anything to come of it, I just thought it was amusing.
>>
>>46149939
Let's go with an old set of questions.
1: What is your main theme song?
2: What is your battle theme song?
3: What are your companions Theme Songs?
4: What song plays when you enter the scene?
5: What is the song of your people?
6: What song plays when you win?
7: What song will play when you reach your endgame?

Reposting about that never goes smooth drawback from the firefly jump who is the ted headed chick and how bad is it?
>>
>>46150038
Ah crap, forgot to explain, this is the intro to the new Devil Survivor 2 jump!
>>
Version 1.2.4 a go. Changelog in the document, but I'll post it here as well.

1.2 (The Edwards update.)
•Document: Reworked the formatting. Added fancy new opening graphics.
•Origins: Fixed Factionite entry. Removed the costs for origins. Reworded a few things.
•Abilities: Removed a limiter on A Heap To Call Your Own.
•Gear: Revised the armor section. Removed Merc suit from rookie armor. Removed tactical helmet from gear listing; made it a standard part of veteran’s armor. Added the ecologist suit to veteran armor. Added anomaly/artifact detectors. Added diet sausage. Added Artifact section.
•Companions: Added the Bandit, Changed, Free Spirit, Guide, Scientist, Slav, Soldier and Psy-pup.
•Drawbacks: Upped the drawback limit to 1000. Updated the wording on Rookie Difficulty. Reduced Snorkbait’s bonus from 300 to 200. Added Blowout Soon, Fellow Stalker and Zone Economy drawback.

Can I use Real Eater to change Thanatos from getting powers from those it kills to getting powers from knocking someone unconscious or drinking their blood or something?
>>
>>46148944
It basically "murphy happens". That plan to rob a bank? Some other crew picked the same bank to rob, at the same time. That plan to sell mecha parts to some planet? They'll buy your parts, but when you arrive they're busy fending off a Reaver attack. The only hospital that stocks the antivenom you need? Right next to an Alliance HQ. That replacement coil compressor for your ship? The only one within a parsec is owned by your yandere ex.
>>
>>46150035
Oh wow. Some tough questions. I'll have to get back to you on that. Questions like those deserve careful consideration.
>>
>>46150100
I wonder if you could change it to a Social Link power - copy the superpowers of someone who you make into a really good friend.

We really need another version of Real Eater somehow.
>>
>>46150038
God damn you are a jump making machine!

>>
so what all old jumps are getting updated?
>>
>>46150285
None.
>>
Alright, THIS is the final version of this jump, because I'm a perfectionist, and those typos were bugging me. NOW, I can work on the Devil Survivor 2 jump without that on my mind!
>>
>>46150129
Oh ok so its basically your gonna have a bad time. Thanks
>>
>>46150379
What dimes and quarters?
>>
>>46150402
Just some spelling errors that were driving me crazy once I looked it over again.
>>
Eh. Might as well drop in a WIP as well. This is kind of bare bones, but I've got all the Grineer perks done for Warframe, and it should give you a good idea of what to expect so far for variety: http://pastebin.com/xheV9aCP

I know. It's shit, I'm shit. But I thought a progress report was needed.
>>
>>46150120
because Real Eater on it's own isn't OP enough, am I right?
>>
>>46150462
Dunno about you, but I like the idea of being able to reskin powers. I think it adds a lot of potential for creativity and resourcefulness. I just don't like that it's a must-purchase from a single jump.
>>
>>46150505
...

Oh. That's what you meant-

Well I'm a god damn asshole now.
>>
>>46149939
Would a Broadway jump work? It'd probably be something like those "you're in the 'real' world, but you're pursuing this particular career" jumps, with the goal of working in musical theater for 10 years, just because any attempt to use a particular play would end up being more about the setting than about Broadway itself.

Also, a 0 CP drawback where people breaking out in song about what's happening is just a part of life.

Don't rule 1 me, I don't actually know anything about Broadway.

So how is the Tenno going to work? Is it an alt-form on its own or is it, perhaps more logically, something I can just remote pilot from any form with the tech and the robo-kid is an alt-form we gain?
>>
>>46150297
I thought that Dirge?? was redoing several of his jumps, hence why Warriors Orochi vanished
>>
>>46150505
I would say if you're after just re-skinning, there are some theme perks that give your abilities a certain appearance, or alter how your magic works in a minor way. Theme from Smite and Medium Channeling from Bayonetta are two, although you do have to choose a specific thing upon buying the perk, and can't just constantly change how your magic looks.
>>
>>46150698
Still trying to figure that one out. I'm going at this background by background, I don't want to get ahead of myself.
>>
>>46150605
There's a runway model jump, anon. IF that can work so can your idea if you try.
>>
>>46150011
You just... flirted the whole time? That's pretty tame.

>Get involved in Ozpin's plot
>Huh, there's a Wizard of Oz theme going on here
>Shit, being from another world makes me Dorothy, doesn't it
>Man, I don't look good in gingham

>Time passes
>Having final boss fight with Salem
>Surrounding area is in ruins
>Finally finish her off by throwing an entire apartment complex at her
>Victory
>It suddenly dawns on me exactly how I defeated her
>God dammit

This is just random musings I had, I kind of find it hard to write out what I "actually" did in a jump.
>>
>>46150505
Meh, not a "must buy" for me: the price for getting it is too high. I don't mean cp, I mean having to take the drawback that means I have to go for a decade without niceties like, say, my ability to care about ethics working properly, etc. So yeah.
>>
What's the best place for all purpose nano-bot tech?
>>
>>46150780
Iji
>>
>>46150755
Oh no, I went to the moon and did the other things. But irritating my pet tumblristas was my favorite activity.
>>
>>46150379
Ah, what exactly does it mean that the Nyarlathotep you can get through '...The Lord let loose his wrath' is unlike his in-game version?

Also, damn you. If I take this before Persona I'll be compelled to take that drawback even if I am unsure of my chances of not dying horribly, then take Crawling Chaos once I finally do Persona even if I don't actually need the CP just to get the mirror match going.
>>
>>46150707
Yeah, but those are all minor. I'm talking about things like being able to turn Mantra into a Hope Corgi build, or Thanatos into Power of Friendship. The only perk that can accomplish that kind of alteration is Real Eater. Which basically makes Medaka into "the Jump where you get Real Eater and basically that's it."
>>
>>46150795
Alright, I can respect that.

I know where their designs came from, but I don't recall if we every saw anything that indicated NDGO had any tumblr qualities. Was there supplementary material?
>>
>>46150802
Devil Survivor! Nyarlathotep isn't all that strong. Yes, he's an eighth day demon, but compared to the others he's pretty weak. With 'The Lord let loose his wrath', he's more like his Persona counterpart: A powerful, cunning demon who spreads misery and chaos. Your survival chances depend on how good of a fighter you are, and if you have people who can help you.
>>
>>46150755
Reminds me - why the hell don't we have a Wizard of Oz jump yet? If not the entire series, then at least the first book.
>>
>>46150756
I only went Minus because I hated all the non-Minus perks. Didn't want any of them, so it was basically either to take stuff I don't like or be a shit for ten years.
>>
>>46150879
Nah, it's pure fanwank on my part, based mainly on the fact that they're Tumblr OCs.

Of course, I could have gone with hitting on Blake since she's pretty bad about it herself, but
I tended to stay away from her since I had an odd compulsion to call her a faggot whenever I was around her (I could thank one of my companions for that one. Asshole.)
>>
>>46150919
Dunno.

>Drop-ins themed around the Wizard, lots of assorted skills and amazing showmanship
>Witch Background, separated into both good witch and bad witch

>0 CP drawbacks for different continuities, such as Wicked or the movie
>Drawback where you're missing either your brain, your heart, or your courage
>Drawback where houses keep falling from the sky directly above you
>Cheap drawback where the first and last years of your jump are spent powerless on a farm in Kansas
>>
>>46150817
>turn Mantra into a Hope Corgi build
Monster's Inc, Fear Tech - explicitly says it can be engineered to work with other forms of emotion.

I'm certain conjoining the two together can help in some fashion - at least, if they can run their city on happiness, you could be a cyborg powered by people's hope.
>>
>>46151031
I figured drop in would be more based on Dorothy, given that she literally dropped in. It could be a hybrid background. Gotta admit, I'd love perks to make me as amazing of a humbug as Oz, or to let people realize that they already were as brave, clever, or caring as they wanted to be.
>>
>>46151120
>>46151031
Y'all gotta read them books.
>>
>>46151146
I read about half of them. I forget exactly how far, but far enough to get to some really fucked up shit - like Dorothy's kitten being put on trial for murder, or them erasing the memories of an entire army of monsters.
>>
>>46150756
What are canon examples of what Minuses act like? Am I doomed to be a sociopathic asshole if I take any Minus powers?
>>
>>46151423
It somewhat depends on the Minus of the person, as their personality seems to be what determines what their Minus does. One girl loved getting injured and peeling her scabs off, so she became able to inflict past injuries upon other people. She wanted to kill her parents because they wouldn't hit her hard enough to create fresh scabs, and would revel in her ability to inflict harm on others.
>>
So suppose I'm going hardcore KNIGHTS KNIGHTS CHIVALRY KNIGHTS theme, and want to create a sort of "Grail" which empowers those who drink from it into superpowered badasses.

A) What elixirs, chems, and such would you suggest deriving the "prime formula" from.
B) Would you say the Cup itself would need enchantments upon it for similar effects?
>>
>>46150756
Bit late here, but it seems as if everyone who goes Minus at all springs for Real Eater.

Maybe it's just because the people who go for the other stuff don't bring it up.
>>
>>46151622
Real eaters overrated in my opinion. The other abilities were far more useful and interesting to me personally.

Gotta say that being a Minus for ten years isn't really something that makes it worth it at all either. That alone disqualifies it for me.
>>

I have no clue what that is. What can the nanotech do there?

I took Raff Rafflessia.

Might not have been worth it, but when you're not getting anything good out of the jump otherwise might as well.

Not having actually read or watched the series, I can still tell you that... they mostly seem to have severe self-hatred issues, basically "I am complete and total scum", with an inability to feel positive emotions.
They are basically huge proponents of the idea that life sucks and then you die and everything is pointless. Nihilism squared.

That said, they do seem to get along with each other pretty well, and even support each other in their own messed up way. It's just that their idea of support is different from the normal sense of the word.

Because everything is pointless, so we might as well all fail together.
And you WILL fail.
They'll make sure of it.

But again, this is just from my own research. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Worm Cauldron Vials (Make Sure they drink it all, and rinse it out afterwards), Resident Evil Viruses, and Jägerbräu from Girl Genius, MCU Strange Formula for Long Term Effects, and possibly Harry Potter, Minecraft, Elder Scrolls, and ATELIER: ARLAND Potions, along with Movit Stimulants from Girl Genius might help. I can't help you with enchantments, other than Recommending Maleficum in King Arthur, Runes in Fate, Summoning and Magic Arrays in Mushoku Tensei, Maker's Prodigy/ Maker in Darksiders, and Elven Enchantment in LOTR.
>>
>>46151720
>Nihilism squared.

>literally superpowered edgy teenager nihilists.

My god I want to punch them.
>>
>>46151643
Agreed.

Scar Dead is really strong, while Ice Fire is just really cool, but I personally don't think they're worth the price of getting mindraped. Octopus is neat conceptually but I sincerely doubt there's a single person who took it as anything other than a CP sink.

...Since we're talking about Medaka Box.

Nursery Rhyme is wack.

That's what Jumper science and healing magic is for. You might also want to do something about the odd skin, teeth, accent, and violent tendencies.
>>
>>46151817
>You might also want to do something about the odd skin, teeth, accent, and violent tendencies.
But...that completely defeats the point of making Jägers.
>>
>>46151773
But you are right, according to the wiki.
>Out of every ten who downed the bräu, only one or two survived and flourished. Most subjects died right away, but a few unlucky ones went mad or suffered such horrible effects that they begged for death!
>>
>>46151678
Well, the canon Real Eater wielder is a bit hard to pin down, as the majority of the time she's acting in a certain way due to her role as Medaka's shadow, so we don't really get to know much about the real her. Kumagawa, the person who has Book Maker, calls himself a Born Loser, and claims he's never won anything. He's incredibly negative about everything, constantly ignores what other people say/do, and can calmly say things that destroy people's world view. So it's possible you'll have a similar negative view of the world, that everything you do is a failure, and inflict that negativity upon others.

>>46151743
The guy in the middle of that picture is Kumagawa and he is the best damned character in the series, he also one both of the popularity polls that happened after he appeared. His mentality though is less nihilist and more he's aware that he isn't the main character, and that he is incapable of winning, it's a very meta series, but he wants to through hard work actually beat the main character that gets everything handed to them.
>>
>>46151835
...Okay, so if I only take Real Eater, is it possible I'd keep my head down and just mope alone instead of trying to attack people or anything?
>>
>>46151856
So it is /possible/ to be a Minus without being a raging asshole?
>>
>>46151863
Oh, yeah. Is that all you're asking? It's totally possible that you could be a Minus and not attack people, and/or retain the concept of self-preservation.
Sociopaths and clinically depressed people function in normal society all the time. For some definition of "function".

Other than the developed sense of smell, strength, long lifespans, and insane durability, you have a point. If you want to stick to the knightly theme however, it may help to give them some power armour.

>>
>>46150035

I'm pretty early into the Chain (about 10 jumps in), but if I had to guess, this is what I think it would be like.

Main Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_9FeMMlLZw

Battle Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnja6gaDcaQ

Huan Li's Theme (Student from Wuxia): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOtUBg2O1E4

Victory Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8Htu2ku4Oo

Endgame Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAD5psVkgD
>>
>>46151892
Yes, for the most part Minus are just very extreme in their negative views. There is no need to be an asshole only a need to be incredible negative, it's just as possible for a minus to be despondent and uninterested in doing things as it is for them to be complete assholes. It's actually a bit more likely for a minus to be a problem for them self rather than for other people.
>>
>>46151907
I'm just saying, if you want generic super soldiers, there are better ways to go about it. But Jägerz iz bettah dan de generic pansies.
>>
>>46151611
Just remember, a lot of people ignore Banjo-Kazooie's 'Mixing Mixtures', which lets you mix a bunch of potions and alchemical concoctions together without their effects clashing or messing with each other. You might wanna grab that.
>>
>>46151863
What we see of what could be her "true" personality shows her as a person who cares deeply about the only person she would ever call a friend, and we also see that some of the Minuses do manage to get over their issues to a degree without losing their abilities. It'll probably take being beaten up by Medaka and/or Zenkichi though, along with being given an arc or such devoted to your backstory and how you don't need to live like that. Of course, this is just going by the manga, I don't know how being a Minus through a drawback would affect it.
>>
>>46151900
>>46151956
Okay, thanks. So now I just have to be an extremely edgy nihilistic emo for 10 years instead of a psychopath.

Honestly not sure that's much of an improvement.

Anyone have an answer to this?
>>46147901
>>
>>46146802

Body Mod and Warehouse
Medium Bodybuilder (500)
Strength 4 (400)
Endurance 2 (Free)
Dexterity 2 (300)
Senses 4 (100)
Taller Height 1 (Free)
Metavore (0)

Electricity (140)
Plumbing (130)
Heat/AC (120)
Forcewall (100)
Shelving (Free)
Housing (80)
Medbay (60)
Portal (30)
Free Space (0)

I've built my Body Mod this time around to account for the possibility of being reduced to only having my Body Mod form; normally I'd ditch dexterity and pick up Evercleansed, but not being magically clean always is a small price to pay to better ensure survival. As for the Warehouse; I've built it up as a combination base/storage facility. Useful for lying low and storing the stuff I magpie.
>>
>>46152205
The answer is presumably the same for both: sufficiently advanced science/tech know-how can do it, it's just that the wireless chair you can buy for CP comes ready-to-go and bug-free courtesy of jump-chan.
>>
I couldn't find an answer anywhere in the archives, so I might as well ask again.

If you're rendered limbless after purchasing Fists of Judgement from Fallen London (disregarding drawbacks, of course), can you sprout limbs made of daylight?
>>
>>46152413
Yeah, says so in the jump. Work like your regular limbs but +sunlight.
>>
Can Girl Genius Sparks only make steampunk style tech? Or would it work with modern and/or sci-fi tech?
>>
So does the situation with BabylonAnon mean that they won't be working on the Lost Valley jump sequel any longer? Sad if true.
>>
>>46152437
What I'm wondering is if I can get an extra set of glowing doom arms. In addition to your normal arms once combat starts up.
>>
>>46152635
>No Lost Valley jump sequel

>>
>>46152655
You can affect two limbs with the glowy doom effect. If you have less than two limbs, more will be provided. If you are an asura or other multi-limbed creature, only two limbs will be glowy doom. No phantom limbs here, sorry.

Jump No.2: Scooby-Doo!
Rolled Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?
Trapper
Rolled 21 for Age
Divide And Conquer (900)
The Rube Goldberg Solution (700)
Traps Illustrated (Free)
The Trapmaster 5000 (500)
Shaggy Super Sandwich Supplies (200)
Robotic Battle Suit (-200)
More Meddling Kids (-600)
Scrappy (-300)
I Can't See Without My Glasses (-100)
Let's Split Up Gang (0)

Blastoise: Run For Your Life and Divide And Conquer

Alakazam: RFYL and Clue

Sandslash: RFYL and Black Belt

Dragonite: RFYL and Ventriloquism

Beedril: RFYL and Talking Animals

Magcargo: RFYL and Acting!

The plan for this Jump is to go around and basically be expies of the gang; solving mysteries and exposing plots, and all that. I'll also be helping my Pokémon get used to being human, because I'd imagine that the change would be quite surreal for them to go through. I feel like I'm going to get a lot of use out of the items I picked up; The Trapmaster 5000 seems like it'll have a lot of uses once I pick up some good intelligence perks, Shaggy Super Sandwich Supplies is a godsend, and the Robotic Battle Suit will be good for fights, especially since I'm maxing out it's size. The drawbacks kind of suck, but when Scrappy does the whole "let me at em" bit I'm just going to book it and leave him to his fate. It's also more manageable because I don't find Scrappy that annoying in the first place.
>>

Also, why does no one ever ask about romance songs? Romance is a constant question in these threads, and theme songs are a constant question, but not what song plays when you get the girl.

Question!

What would happen if I poured a cauldron vial into the infinite-liquid maker from terraria?
>>
>>46153797
Whoever you want to drink it would have to drink a lot of liquid unless you want them to mutate horribly a la Echidna.

Well, I don't know that for sure, but it's something you should watch out for.

If it actually works then congrats, you can hand out that one power as much as you like (though you may find it doesn't refresh until it's all used up, dunno).

Jump No.3: Adventure Time
Rolled Ice Kingdom
Rolled Age 13
Wizard (900)
Wiz Biz (Free)
Elemental Monarch (300)
Monstrous Form (0)
Spider Wand (-100)
Circlet (-400)
Heavy is the Hand (-100)
Sir Slicer (0)

I AM ANON, THE ICE WIZARD! Ahem. I'm going with an "ice" theme this for this Jump; I'm going to be an ice wizard with an ice kingdom somewhere icy, where my ice golem subjects will live happy, ice filled lives. I'm only going to use my crown as a last resort in combat; I don't think Ooo needs two crazy ice wizards running around. When I'm not running my kingdom, I'll probably be doing dungeon crawls with my companions, or going off to fight threats to my kingdom.

My Monstrous Form will basically look like the Hulk, but with icy blue skin, a messy head of grey hair and a long, Gandalf-esque beard that billows in the breeze.

Not quite. You'll be able to give out powers with some kind of theme, but there's apparently quite a large degree of personalisation to what anyone would get even drinking the same formula or triggering with the same shard, not to mention the additional randomisation from the circumstances they trigger/drink the formula in and their emotional state/needs at the time.

Yeah, that was my reaction. None of those fucks, individually or collectively, have added anything to the community as interesting and well written as the Light of Terra. To say nothing of the body of his work in totality. It's really frustrating, as I remember him mentioning that he was working on a Planescape jump and I'm a complete nerd for that setting.

We should have pushed back harder when they tried to come over here, we should have been louder to shut down talk about what they doing.

Fuck them. Fuck their jumps. They're trash.
>>
>>46155499
>We should have pushed back harder when they tried to come over here, we should have been louder to shut down talk about what they doing.
Why? What would that have done? In case you didn't notice, what caused Babs to leave was entirely on their site. It was never mentioned here, no agreement was made, it was only there. He left because of something said on a site we all agree is filled with idiots, and the things that were said were things that have been shot down time and time again here. For some reason he assumed that one guy remaking his jump on SB would ever be accepted here and left because of it.

The whole silly situation does lend some credence to the idea that he was just looking for an excuse to leave, because it really is very silly.
>>
>>46155499
You're assuming we could have actually done anything. They already don't listen to us, and have their own forum. They don't need us or anything we have to offer besides our Jumps, and we can't stop them from using those.

It's like trying to get rid of Tera. It's never going to actually accomplish anything, and all you're doing is making our threads worse.
>>
So is the libriomancer jump in the drive the finished one? I know the maker said he was changing some things after the last convo we had in the thread so I was wondering if it was finished or in the wrong folder.
>>
>>46155365
I have said multiple times that the rule that 'no one can try to improve someelse's jump' and 'once claimed, it cannot be touched by anyone else' it's pretty idiotic. Even more so when there are different communities sharing the Jumpchain, and one of them is an anonymous board.

You're preventing others from actually try to be creative and improve others' not so spectacular work for no real reason at all. Well, the only reason that I can think is to prevent the drama that the most autistic users here like to create when something doesn't go like the like.

And now bitching about that rule that so many try to defend so eagerly on this threads because someone that is not part of your secret treehouse club has claimed a setting that you like, it seems rather hypocritical to me.
>>
>>46155849
That rule is more of a guideline and you are just trying to stir shit. SB are literally worse than tera in both power wanking and building jumps so it isn't like they are improving anything
>>
>>46155849
We've heard you. We've also provided our reasoning. But the fact that you can't recall a single argument against it, or come up with one besides "autistic drama" means discussing it with you is pointless.

NO ONE EXPECTS THE INQUISITION! I knew of the troubles and the rebellion of the Mages Circles against the Templar Order. Even when I was busy killing Crows and exploring the world. So it came to no surprise when the Inquisition showed up again after I return a year after leaving.

As part the Seekers with Cassandra, I was one the first to join up with the Inquisition. I did it to control the situation, as my only way of leaving was to bring back the Circle or destroy them. Plus there was the rifts that needed be taken care of. After the rifts were taken care of, I killed the Inquisitor. He was no longer needed, and I pushed forward for Cassandra to be the new Divine.

I did this by going to each leader of the Templar Order that mattered. I told them of the three choices, the Circle Mages would be free and uncontrollable with anyone other than Cassandra. While the Templar order would be restructured, the Inquisition would be brought back into the fold of the Chantry. Which it was with the Inquisitor gone, and Cassandra as the new Divine.

With that in play I had to do clean up. Those that wouldn't follow were destroyed. Normally I wouldn't go this far, but I couldn't go on without bringing them back or destroying renegade mages. I spent a total of 15 years rounding them all up, or burying them. Total of 25 years in the Dragon Age Universe, and I needed a vacation. I just hope my next trip, I get a reprieve and it will be somewhat interesting, but mostly just relaxing.

More like a Taskmaster build. I'm limiting my powers outside of myself, relying more on weapon skills, martial arts, and technology. Think Batman/Captain America/Ironfist aka Taskmaster, minus the training henchmen. Limiting my strength, agility, speed, and durability to that of Captain America (MCU) levels. Limiting any magic, beyond alchemy & enchanting weapons. Also probably going to have maybe only one companion.

In fairness I think anon's point was more SB has no more power to force things in our drive than we have power to stop them from doing anything, that said having just caught up I think they're a shitty bunch and all their future contributions involving outright breaches of jumpchain convention should be treated as null and void as I understand was standard procedure in dealing with SB to avoid this shit from coming up again,

I'm honestly conflicted about liking the latest Libriomancy jumps updates for that reason; at last count the work itself has some good change ups but the pedigree of its' origin rustles my jimmies.

>>46154058
This is really late, but they're basically two entirely different universes: the first one is about the conflict between God and Bel, with humans stuck in the middle, while the second one is an outright alien invasion; if they DID occur in the same universe, 2 happened first, because time travel.

For what it's worth, while the SB thread is mostly full of their rejects, there are four or five of them that are aren't actually retarded about things.

Here, the retarded wank gets called out, but over there it doesn't because their mods are kindof unpredictable (and Adarx is a mod himself, so...), but it doesn't mean they all agree with it either.

Libranon stumbled quite significantly, but put in effort to get along and made up for it instead of getting defensive and petty like the ones that gave SB the bad reputation.

To be fair it's only Adarx (who's not done anything else of note to the thread, besides the rules lawyering argument), Mega, and a third guy (who mostly withdrew after it got taken to PMs). Apparently Adarx's post on using Rules Lawyer perks on the meta was intended as a joke, though the rest of his insistence that he only works by RAW as interpreted through lots of squinting is still going strong.

That said Adarx pretty much decided he was going to do a B5 jump no matter what and made that clear when I attempted to explain why his attempts to make one as close in setting as possible to the B5 jump was a terrible idea. Which is the point I posted in thread asking someone else to try. At which point Babylon came by and got this lovely post in response:
https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/general-cyoa-thread.315809/page-675#post-21351135
Don't worry, he insists it wasn't intended to be offensive, and cannot see how it could be taken as such.

Once more reading the thread for context (starts on page 170) might be a good idea, past the first couple pages was largely just the people I mentioned previously (Babylon, Joebobjoe (me), Antumbra (Miros), Andarx, and Antarnorth).
>>
>>46156696
Hell, I popped into the thread to try explaining to him it wasn't really a wise course of action and all I got was he didn't really care as he had decided to do it any way.

Bit of luck he'll take my advice to leave it there at least.

>Right now I think the jump is too restrictive in a number of ways. I dislike it compels you to play as Human. I dislike that paths for things like Nightwatch and Rangers are so expensive and so tightly confined in plot. I dislike that so many of the perks are things that can be bought in other jumps for cheaper. I want to create a jump that allows jumpers more freedom. I would like in the end for this jump to be prettied up so it lands in the folder with all the other pretty jumps. I'd like it to stand out in a good way, to be something that makes people say "hey, this Babylon 5 thing sounds pretty interesting, maybe I should check that out". If I am being honest, I do not believe the jump in its current state does that. There is nothing backhanded or passive aggressive in saying so.

This is what a passive agressive power gamer thinks guys

I agree. I've said here and on SB that I don't agree with replacing someone's jumps on the drive, but I don't think the one guy posting that on another board (while admittedly also acting like an asshat) and not attempting to put it on the drive warrants all of this drama. You can't force that guy to do anything, and he's proven he won't change his mind, so all this argument does is make him feel more and more justified in his decision to ignore the rules.

Well, we know that at least sky dragon slayers get a bunch of other spells too - mostly healing and buffs in that case.
There's also Laxus who shows a wider variety of effects with his lightning control.
So it's not too farfetched to think that the other varieties also get more stuff that just hasn't been shown yet/that they just haven't trained in.
>>

They're separated by gender. Technically there's nothing stopping a girl from being a wizard or a boy from being a witch, but everyone would think it was extremely weird, in a "there's a girl wearing jean shorts in the 1700s" way.
If you knew both, you'd just know how to do both styles of magic, and you'd probably just be referred to as whichever one matched your gender.
>>
>>46158743
There was nothing to it to begin with.
>>
>>46158529
I think Laxus knows regular lightning magic, too.
>>
>>46158790
>t was answered, you twit.

>>46158641
They basically use the same magic but witches are low power high precision, wizards are high power low precision. Taking both makes you high power high precision letting you do pretty much what you want.
>>
>>46158641
There's a canonical Witchzard in the series, IIRC. Anyway, odds are that you'd have all the phenomenal power wizards can call on, plus the more esoteric tricks witches get, along with the knowledge of how to actually use it effectively and with minimum necessary disruption of reality that witches are known for.
>>
>>46158790
Well arent you an agry little cockmongler today?
>>
>>46158790
Most of what you said is wrong. There are male witches called warlocks they difference in witch and wizard is more than gender.
>>
>>46158826
Afaik it's never clarified whether he knows lightning magic and is a lightning dragon slayer too or if he just pretends to be a normal lightning mage most of the time to keep his dragon slayer status under wraps.

I prefer the second interpretation for the simple fact that this awesome legendary lost magic sounds a whole lot less impressive if it only has 5 different spells.

And there's Wendy of course who gets quite a few spells in addition to the standard dragon slayer array.
The focus on healing and buffing for those may just be a personal bias, either from her or her dragon/teacher - healing is rare as fuck and incredibly useful, and it suits her temperament. That doesn't necessarily mean she couldn't learn different ways to utilize wind similar to how Laxus uses lightning, just that she focuses her training on the healing aspect because it's something almost no one else can do.
>>
>>46158641
Basically they can pretty much all accomplish the same stuff, but they use different methods to do so. It's a lot like Dresden Files magic, actually. In general, Wizards treat magic like a science they don't truly understand, where Witches treat it more like an extension of their headology - which is essentially psychology, so they convince the world to act a certain way. For example, to use fire magic, a wizard would wave his hand and maybe chant a few words while manipulating heat, while a witch would stare at what she wanted to burn until it gets flustered and bursts into flames.
>>
>>46158851
> and don't answer the question just like you just did
I'm sorry, are you expecting some killer awesome combo or special snowflake power? Because that's not going to happen, dip.

There aren't different levels of wizards. It's like Harry Potter, you're either able to use magic or you're not. The application depends entirely on how you choose to learn it. So if you pick both then you already know how to do all the shit. The only real benefit is that genders are segregated to such an extent that you probably won't learn to do everything otherwise.

> Taking both makes you high power high precision letting you do pretty much what you want.
You can already do that.

There's not some magic unlock system, it's just a matter of teaching. Wizards teach other wizards to be big and flashy, witches teach other witches to use very little magic. Both are capable of magic, both can do anything the other can do, provided they learn how to do it.
>>
>>46159002
>There aren't different levels of wizards. It's like Harry Potter, you're either able to use magic or you're not.
Well, there is one level of wizardry above the normal. But getting Sourcery also drives you more than a little insane, so you really shouldn't aim for it.
>>
>>46158936
>The focus on healing and buffing for those may just be a personal bias, either from her or her dragon/teacher
Wasn't the Sky God Slayer chick's magic the same way?

Actually, come to think of it, it probably is just personal bias/influenced by their personality. Natsu and Gajeel are the type of people to punch their problems away, Laxus punches stuff, but he's also more calculating and intelligent than they are, and Lucy would much rather support her friends than fight directly. And I think it was mostly Rogue that used ranged magic while Sting just launched stuff and used his breath attack.
>>
>>46159002
>There aren't different levels of wizards
Uh...yeah there are. There's definitely a difference between Rincewind and Death's butler.
>>
>>46159038
All I know is that I find it an interesting for air to be the healing and buffing element instead of water like it usually is. Come on, water, let some of the other elements branch out from the blaster role.
>>
>>46159031
>But getting Sourcery also drives you more than a little insane, so you really shouldn't aim for it.
Nah. That's just because Coin's dad's ghost was hiding in his staff and controlling him.
>>
>>46159002
It isn't a combo really but it is the most powerful magic set up in the jump and you are literally being obtuse instead of paying attention. It really is more than just gender segregation which you would know if you paid attention or read the books instead of spouting rude and wrong shit.
>>
>>46159002
There are entire books detailing the difference of levels in wizards and witches.
>>
>>46159077
I'm talking about all the other wizards who were empowered with Sourcery. Though I suppose you could argue that it's less that Sourcery corrupted them and more that they were already corrupt (wizards, no sense of right or wrong, etc.) and they just couldn't act on it until they had Sourcery's power.
>>
>>46159114
I think that's probably it. (Remember, the plural of wizard used to be war.)
>>
>>46159147
True, but that was in the days when every wizard had Sourcery. So it really is kind of a chicken and egg thing.
>>
>>46159038
The Sky God Slayer chicks healing is slightly different - afaik she can heal herself (which a dragon slayer can't), but she can't remove fatigue the way Wendy can. There's probably more differences between the two, but that's what i know of.

And the explanation for why all Sky whatever Slayers learn healing is pretty simple: It's one of the very few magics in-setting capable of it.
If you were one of the few people who could learn healing with the magic you're training in anyway, wouldn't you?
>>
>>46159103
>>46159064
That's a difference in skill level and usually age. Anyone can reach that level through practice, unless you're counting Sourcerers, which are their own thing.
The main reason wizards don't do that is because of the loose magical laws that tend to rip holes to the dungeon dimensions when shit gets too magical.

>>46158895
Warlocks are mentioned in passing in Equal Rites and never again. They probably exist somewhere, because there's a word for them, but other than that there's nothing.

Quick random ass question:
- How long does the SAO jump last, the wording is a little unclear. Is it during the events of Sword Art Online itself or the full usual 10 years?
>>
>>46159932
From the way other people were talking, I interpreted it as the usual 10 years. Which means you start out in the first Sword Art Online, and then go through the plot, and then you go out to the real world of the setting, and then periodically new games will come out that everyone keeps inexplicably jacking themselves into because learning lessons is for bungling layabouts, which you can choose to be part of or not.
>>
>>46159885
The jump is going to cover ZX through J, right? Maybe do something with the whole "all the villains from every previous series were really the same guy" thing, use that to make a drawback where you have to fight enemies from previous jumps.

>Or just step on big bads, since they're all regular people outside the game using programs to make themselves look big. I think Antispiral did that.
Can't you do that between games anyway? It's not like the average jumper has any problems squishing a normal guy whose identity he already knows. It's probably an hours work to get rid of the various big bads that the manga/novels show, if you take your time about it.

The other two make sense though. Not for me, i'm both too lazy to make games myself and too bored by RL to do the SoL thing, but some people might like it.

Honestly don't understand this jump, structure is pretty weird, free 1000 CP companion import tucked away in the notes, not entirely even sure whether this is a legal build. No drawbacks as well.

Also I'm a little girl. Pretty much the first time that's happened in any build but I can quickly metamorphose into something more palatable.

Again not entirely sure whether this is even allowed but I ended up buying the Initiator tree for myself and Promoter tree for Leeroy. Prefer the Initiator tree but there's good stuff in both.

Also there's stuff like there's a free exploding brain chip for Initiators. I mean I just didn't take it and it doesn't really say you have to. Do sort of feel like I've done something wrong.

As per all shithole works the plan is to do as many horrible experiments on man and beast as possible. Bar is pretty low in terms of making things better so I can improve things while still getting horrendous. Or everybody dies. Either way there's a lesson to be learnt.

You mean price? Wiki says 228 caps, but that'll vary wildly (but will never go below) based on charisma and how many Junktown Jerky magazines you've picked up. The merchants of Fallout 4 like to gouge the fuck out of your wallet and there's no easy way to make them stop.

Well I wanted a vacation trip and I've seem to have gotten one. I have no clue where I landed, but I know that there's no conflict unless through a game. The ten pledges are pretty simple, and this is definitely more relaxing than dealing with Inquisitions, Archdemons, and furry intergalactic bounty hunters.

It would seem my intellect serves me well here. I seem to be able to pull off batman gambits, be really good at bluffing, and an increase to my already quick wit. It allows me to really dominate games and contests with very little challenge. Unless those contests are physical, in which I have harder time against the Warbeasts who dominate that field. wins.

When I heard of two iumans from another world were winning lots of games I decided to shadow them for awhile. I took detail notes on how they often rely on one another to win contests. That they have an encyclopedic mind for the games they play. Using these notes I challenged them to a friendly game, in which I gave them a challenge. However at the last minute, I threw the game. My gambit paid off & while I lost money, I had proven that I could beat the pair of them.

That way I was able to ride on their coat tails & gather more notes on how they operate. Their goal was to challenge Deus, the lord of the games, & I wished to see this happen. So I helped them gather the race pieces, & finally challenges Deus. Luckily for me I was able to see Deus defeat the siblings. All in all it was a fun trip, I just hope my next one is as eventful as this trip was.

Oh where to start...

based on Small Town's descriptor in Pokémon, I knew there'd be connection between myself and May. However as the plot went on - and I had taken Marked, meaning I was perpetually at odds with Teams Magma and Aqua - I kinda realized a few things after I had won the gym battle with her father Norman. So when the time came, I wound up pushing May and Brandon together. She was better off with him.

This kinda sparked and swung into several attempts at romance by yours truly, none of which succeeded. But there were a few lasting connections...

In InFamous, there was The Icicle - an Ice Conduit serial killer who, against all odds, I was forging a bond with. I even think I came close to saving him, which I think was what sparked his last episode of madness. We fought on the top of a skyscraper in Chicago, and he fell.

In Mass Effect, I had feelings for Commander Shepard, but helped her and Garrus get together.

In NGNL, I had the Rule Six drawback and got attached to the Warbeast's leader - who just wasn't interested.

In Halo, there was my Rival - a female Sangheili warrior who clashed with me on numerous occasions. It was definitely a fire-forged affair, but by the time I left she had long gone elsewhere.

Next there was Maria Viren in Terra Formars - but she died. And at that point, I had no resurrection spells so it was mostly a skyward scream of "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU." And after that it became a case of passing fancies and out-and-out rejections. A cat-girl in CATastrophe, a rival pilot in Ace Combat, a warlord in Pokémon Conquest, trying (and failing) to woo a Zentraedi with music in Macross, failing to get even close to remotely laid in Santa Claus while each of the Mall Santas modeled in my image rolled in the hay almost constantly.

Then came Hellsing at Jump 62...

Make the planet earth, your home world, more 'interesting.' That is, bring an element of fantasy or whimsy to the real world with all that you have gathered so far. If you can do so without leading to the destruction of the planet, you may continue on your path.
Do you take the deal?

Quite obviously it would be Portal Super Science. I already did this one, so it's time to crank the Capitalism engine up once again!

I would buy the rights to the name Aperture Science from Steam by literally rolling a dump truck full of money up to Gabe's front door, then open a true scientific institute.

It would start out as a joke. Almost a theme park. People could come and run through "Training Cubes" like it was a series of rides. The various perks I've picked up in Portal itself, as well as the experience building the company back up from nothing, will allow me to gain valuable data under the illusion of offering people various "attractions". Safe versions of the Gels will be used as slides and rides. Long-fall boots and Repulsion Gel becomes the ultimate bouncy house.

What am I looking for with these "tests"? Hell if I know, but with the perks I've taken I'm absolutely certain I'll make something amazing within a few years. Maybe a true diet food using Repulsion Gel or some kind of fuel additive using Propulsion Gel.

The scientific community will quickly become curious about some of the effects we're creating and start poking around. That's when I unleash the curtain. Show them all the science behind the "rides". I would even unleash the Excursion Funnel technology as well as a whole host of robotic replacement limbs I would be researching.

I believe it would be well received on the whole. I'm keeping the Portal Gun for myself though. That's MY toy!

He had something she wanted - the ability to function as a thinking being despite remaining Avarice, and that came with a whole new variety of desires.

And it's not like it hasn't warped him either. It's increasingly obvious, even after he stopped altering his brain chemistry.
>>
>>46162894
No, not even a little, that's what you get to start with if you take a certain option. A moderately skilled shaper can control over 40 that are miles away while half assing it.
>>
>>46162894
No? I don't think so at least. You can make a Lab in Geneforge and vat-grow shit, not even using your own Essence. You could make an army of Creations. Not FAST, but you could. It would be Fast if you built Spawners, but if those go Rogue things go bad.

In my previous version of this chain, I ended up using the bronze men from Lost Valley of the Dinosaurs as a source of powerful labor. I wouldn't call them entirely disposable or endless, but nothing's really preventing you from manufacturing as much as possible except resources and time...which can be easily acquired somewhere like Dragon Commander.
>>
>>46162558
> You failed, but I'll let you keep going if you do some shit that you were planning to do anyway.

... okay.

Well, first of all, I'm going to introduce magic into the world for shits and giggles. With Legend of Mana jump, this is actually super easy! I can just plant the Mana Tree in the middle of the fucking Australian Outback and then wait for mana to spread out.
Speaking of, I always sortof figured that if I got back to Earth, I'd end up building a base out there, probably underground, because nobody fucking goes there and it's as good a place as any to put things you don't want people to mess with.

After that I start creating magical creatures, and possibly using magical curses and shit to transform random backwater towns into cute fuzzy animal people or something.

Then I'll maybe build a giant technological super fortress in Antartica for no fucking reason, and after that we'll just sortof go from there.

>>46162804
I just built a factory in my admittedly oversized warehouse and upended the Scrapyard from Swat Kats into it. Scrap can be melted down or thrown into matter transformers.
Of course, anything that can be automated could potentially do the same.
You could do it with the Golems in Legend of Mana.
If you don't mind being at the end of the assembly line, you could use Smithy's Army from Mario RPG. It's how Smithy himself makes his army.
Beastmen are grown in vats, you could throw some Venture Bros style educator beds in there to get them started.
>>
>>46162991
Thaads are perfect Shock Troopers. A Tier 1 creation, not very bright, difficult to kill.
Battle Alphas are better in every way, but are harder and take more Essence/Time to make.
>>
>>46162898
>However, can you provide some way of companioning Otoya or otherwise getting more integrated with the Kiva 1980's plot?

Not sure. I mean this is meant to be a Showa jump after all. Allowing you to get more involved in the Kiva plot seems like it'd be missing the point.

I only put that drawback in because I noticed that Black takes place literally one year after the 80s half of Kiva's plot.
>>
>>46162991
40 isn't bad for a guy half assing it, as in the 40 creations aren't a strain on him at all. The character that number comes from notes iirc that he lost half of them and is down to 40, and that it wasn't that difficult to handle the full number. That character's stats in game aren't that impressive either.

I should also note that the Shaper's organization is only a few hundred years old, and they have for most of their history been engineering their creations without knowing what DNA is. A jumper having just taken the jump and continued on for a little while is likely to become, and make things far more impressive than anything in setting.

supreme commander can create vast armies of house-sized robots in a matter of hours, starting from scratch. The setting also offers the necessary matter and energy generators.

Drop ACU. Build infrastructure. Create army. Works in space, under water, in the desert, in freezing cold, everywhere.
And while your factories start churning out robots and bombers and whatever else you need you build more mass fabricators, more power plants and more factories.

You can have an army of thousands in 1-2 hours if you're content with T1 bots (which are still house-sized and enough to overrun most settings). T3 takes a little longer, but not much.
And it never, ever stops.

Underwater, no one can see you crying in pain and frustration. They can hear it though.

And what I can hear? The Verse. I can hear it all as clear as anything, and it's impossible to drown out. Some parts of it call to me, and they tell me things. Things like "Here's how you became lightning" and "We had a contract, Noble". So, I guess I'm some sort of royalty serving these things. I broke a deal, whatever it was, so now the ocean is heavy and hurtful. It doesn't stop me from taking back my memories, though. Ocean even seems to encourage it sometimes. Maybe it's not the one that scattered them?

I don't know what I was, and no one knows me, but the few memory clusters I've found tell me this is not what I am. So, I will swim in currents that dash me against rocks, and fight deadly mutants, and my head will thrum with a thousand verses, and I will cry and yell and bite and claw and not know why. Because I will know who I was, and I will learn what the fuck this weird aquatic city full of humans is doing here. Like, they wave a lot and seem so familiar. Like traps I'd gotten out of before.

value can be interpreted many different ways you will have to be more specific.

There is personal value: My family which I love more than anything and would give up anything for.

There is power:My Mother Box has more science and Mojo crammed onto her than many settings do in their entirety, plus she runs off of a conduit to The Source which is an all-powerful entity which in the DC universe at least is God to God.

There is cash: in which case I have a exceedingly large bank account from doing such things as using cash collection on the horde located in of treasure planet while deactivating the booby-traps and holding no limit auctions for apples of immortality.

There is territory :my LoT is a fairly sized space colony at this point and with the tech I got Anno 2070 most of the ocean's floor is my exclusive domain.

Reapers are a pretty inferior platform overall. Mass Effect is just a pretty low-power universe in the grand scheme of things.
The ability to zombify life can be added onto anything, as can AI.

If you import the Light of Terra into SupCom as a support commander you could mass produce those instead, including any upgrades you got.

A full fleet of those should be enough firepower for everyone, and SupCom production rates are ridiculous.

>Seriously, back up the claims that the ACU can pump out half the shit people claim it can, and that it's not just a bandage / excuse.

Not the person who brought it up, but it really is that capable.

They have instantaneous resource transmission to their units, the in-game build speeds are the canon in-setting speeds, and they can create as many resource silos as they need.

Without a unit cap, you can swarm a planet in less than a day and harvest more than enough to start on an LoT of your own.

Actually getting adamantine may be more difficult however, depending on where it need be harvested from and if it can be artificially generated.
>>
>>46165284
Don't bother. Any time someone has criticism there's kneejerk reactions and cries of 'nerfers', you're only going to get him angry.

>>
>>46165284

Because it's not about the resources you can gather?

And the entirety of the Imperium was NOT behind the construction of the LoT. Not by a long shot. It was a very prestigious shipyard, with a very large and sophisticated supply chain.

It wasn't capable of matter transmutation, nanomachine construction or producing titan-equivalent within a minute - or even a decade.

I just want to note that simply "scanning" the reapers with the ACU conversion ray tech will not be enough as the ACU computer cannot perfectly replicate materials or technology it has no prior understanding of such as Element Zero. An element that did not exist in SupCom.

You're going to have to know how to make Element Zero yourself, through things like Artificial Alloys, and then upload that information to the ACU computer.
>>
>>46165388
Yes, but the resources were still there. They could still access all the materials they need to construct the Light of Terra and it's fellow Gloriana-classes, which, by the way, no longer can be produced, not even Chaos has any, or if they DO have any, they're not showing them. Look, Supreme Commander tech is crazy advanced, but a single ACU couldn't mass produce the Light of Terra, that amount of resources would be beyond anything shown in the actual game. Hell, even the experimentals. like the Paragon or the...Mavor, I think it was called? Took an hour or so to make. It just sounds physically impossible. I respect your opinion, but you have to admit this sounds kind of absurd.
>>
>>46165284
That's like saying how can a modern man make modern day tech when the Romans or Mongols couldn't.

It's a different setting with different tech. Paragon's alone literally create matter and energy (or take it from another dimension or something, point is the end result is getting more out than you put in) and jumpers have plenty of time to gather resources. You'd still need a shitton of builders to get it done in a reasonable time frame, but some people import their LoT as an ACU which lets it build on the LoT's scale quickly.
>>
>>46165502
I don't mean to offend, but I just want to point out that the Paragon (which has the longest construction time of 23 minutes when built by a Tier 3 engineer) can be produced in under 10 seconds if enough engineers are working on it.
>>
>>46165536
>Import the LoT as an ACU
...How would you even..You know what? It you can do shit like that, I no longer question any of this.

Really? That shit always took an hour or more for me. I had my commander and a crap tone of tier 3 engineers working on it, and 40-50 minutes was the shortest I ever got it down too. Maybe my computer just sucked back then.
>>
>>46165284
>>46165502
SupCom tech includes mass fabricators. As long as you have the space to build them you can effectively get as much mass and energy as you need.
And of course you're not mass-producing them with a single ACU.
You use the ACU to create the infrastructure - factories, engineers, power plants and mass fabricators. A single ACU may need days to build a LoT, but a few hundred T3 engineers can manage significantly faster as long as your economy can support them.

As for getting the tech, that's why you import the LoT as a subcommander. The importing automatically adds all the necessary tech to your database.
>>
>>46165670
>...How would you even..You know what? It you can do shit like that, I no longer question any of this.
That was actually the jumpmaker's selling point for the jump, if you can believe it.
>>
>>46165692
No, that's what people got a stiffy for. There's far more to it.
>>
>>46165670
>computer just sucked back then

Wouldn't be surprising as a lot of computers weren't ready to handle to sheer size of the number of units the game was set to build. It's also one of those game that to prevent crashing, it will just slowing things down more and more as it starts chugging.
I've heard that it is like the Crysis of strategy games. You had to sell half your soul to get a computer to run it perfectly.
>>
>>46165670
>Maybe my computer just sucked back then.
SupCom is one of the most CPU intensive games ever, even right now it can max a top end CPU if you have enough stuff going on.
>>
>>46165606
Something to point out if we're going by the game- the paragon doesn't actually give infinite stuff. It has a cap.
>>
>>46165740
>There's far more to it.
You could have fooled me, that's all I ever hear people bringing the jump up for.
>>
>>46165670
The notes for the SupCom jump specifically mention the Light of Terra, so there's no doubt that you can import it.
They also mention that anything imported is automatically added to your database.
>>
>>46165430
It is the nature of 80s-era IXA to suffer for your power. Makes perfect sense to me.

>>

>>

>>46165760

>>
>>46165687
Hang on, it's the subcommander that gets the tech knowledge? Because I imported the Necron Tomb Spyder for my subcommander and went with LoT as my main for that massive size boost.
>>
>>46165692
Importing stuff for the ACU was one of the selling points.
Originally it was going to be limited to only mechs, but then people started getting the thought of importing things like necron tombs spiders which sounded so insane that I felt I had to let them do it. This eventually lead to the Uber Insanity that is importing the Light of Terra.
>>
>>46165766
You don't even need the paragon. As long as you have room you can just build normal T3 power plants and mass fabricators.

Find a nice empty planet and set up shop. Fill the entire thing up with power plants and mass fabricators and you will have an absolutely staggering amount of resources that will never run out.
>>
>>46165804
Because we all know how that's going to turn out. I'm just going to point to >>46165795 and leave it at that.

>>

>>
>>46165824
You aren't likely to max a top end modern CPU, it's more right now that you can. Though apparently the people who are still playing online still want you to have a top end CPU else you may drag the game down. Really though it's evidence that the game is well programmed that it can draw out that much power.
>>
>>46165805

Sometimes I pretend not to notice when she goes against my wishes.
>>
>>46165824
>I thought the mass fabricators were harvesting the mass from the ground, like little mines or something?
You're thinking of the mass extractors. Mass fabricators actually make mass using matter-energy conversion. Mass extraction is usually more efficient, but there are some cases where fabricating it is worth the expense.
>>
>>46165897
>I remember the shitstorm when the Macross jump banned anything over a certain height.

>>
>>46165940
Yeah. You had a few anons screaming about how Red was returning to her nerfbitch ways and how she was just pissy that she lost her own LoT. All because they wanted to make their LoT a veritech.
>>
>>46165907
>>46165824
There is some point in the late game where Mass Fabricators are far more useful that Mass Extractors.

Using stuff like the S2 Engine should help you to get kickstarted quick enough.
>>
>>46165940

It wasn't much of a shitstorm.

It was less about a getting LoT transforming mecha and more that people had larger mecha they wanted to import, like Armoured Cores.
>>
>>46165956
I imported the Necron Tomb Spyder, would I have knowledge of how to bootstrap up to what is needed to create a Necron Tomb Spyder?
>>
>>46165901
Makes sense. Are people still playing it online? I would've thought SupCom 2 would've taken over that scene, though there WAS a drop in quality, so that could be why.
>>46165907
Oh, yeah, that's right. Actually, now that I think about it, Supreme Commander tech really was a lot more advanced then I remembered. When ever I think of the game, my first thoughts usually go to Black Sun or the experimentals. You never really think of the logistics or actual construction.
>>46165977
>S2 engines
Okay, how do these things work? The jump says they have near limitless power, but some other Anon said they're about as strong as the average nuclear reactor.
>>
>>46165897
It's not really surprising. You have this awesome spaceship that you've fought and bled for, why wouldn't you want to import it if given the option?

Sure, it can make jumps boring and predictable, but that applies more to jumps like Uncharted Waters or Narnia.

In a setting like Supreme Commander it's hardly an i-win button.
The weapons tech in that setting is sufficient to wreck even the LoT if you get cocky.

>>46165907
It's important in the game because cheaper mass means faster unit production and teching, and relying solely on mass fabricators is a good way to get overrun by your enemy.

Mass Fabricators are more of a supplemental/endgame option when all mass deposits are already tapped and you need more to start mass producing experimentals.
>>
>>46165997
energy* Not power, my bad.
>>
>>46165997
>Are people still playing it online?
I don't know if there are many, but in looking up things when I took the jump I found active comments of people talking about it. It may help that it goes on sale on Steam for like $4 every so often.
>>
>>46165997
The S2 Engine's power is limitless in that it is generated ex nihilo. The amount of power that can be (safely?) taken from one, however, is only equal to a nuclear reactor.
>>
>>46165980
Oh yes.
I have it in the Note section.

My greed's getting out of control though, It sees A Thing I Want and wants to get it right now

I might keep Dark Kiva just in case it doesn't get offered, but I think IXA is something that in a hypotheical Kiva jump would be offered

Wouldn't you need a pod for Dark Kiva, since the Dark Kiva system is kept inside Kivat-Bat the Second? You couldn't just magpie it.

Devils and Minions you say? Kill them all you say? Well, hell, it might not be easy, but I've had a lot of practice in that lately. Between Borderlands, Chrono Trigger, Forgotten Realms, and Soul Eater, my team and I have just a /little/ bit of combat experience.

Charisma and a several leprechauns worth of Luck will just have to carry me the rest of the way with the lesser powers that be.

Okay. Hopelessness fading. Thinking I Can Do This bar rising.

Technically speaking you can get IXA as long as you take the Broken Chain drawback.

You wouldn't need to buy it, you'd have to find the Fangire Hunters and steal it from in the jump itself.

Although rules-sticklers might not like that.
