What up fellow fa/tg/uys? Let's open some sealed magic product!

Tonight will be tournament decks for Invasion, Mirrodin, and Mirage. Tournament decks have 3 rares, 10 uncommons, and then like twenty some commons and lands each, for a total of 75 cards. Except with really old sets like Mirage which only has 60. In those they have 3 rares, 9 uncommons, and the rest commons and land iirc.

I don't just charge to the rares, I read each card and pull out what ones I think are playable for my EDH binder. So updates will be slow.

Let's begin!

It's one of those things you have to think outside the box to find a use for.
People claim this is bait but I think you are just used to playing magic on the "cast spell, attack, go" axis.
There's a lot more to it. It's also one of those cards that gets better over time.
>>
>>46105445
Don't read it for rules knowledge, it's basically all incorrect at this point.
If you want to see how things USED to work sure, but it's basically all obsolete now. Interrupts don't exist, there's no such things as 'batches of effects', etc.

Cool, thanks. I was never sure what happened when banded attackers collided with banded blockers.

Turns out that blockers don't form bands, but so long as one of the blockers has banding (and they're all blocking the same creature or band of creatures) the defending player still gets to decide how damage is dealt to his creatures. Likewise the attacker decides how damage is dealt to his band.

I may have to add Baton of Morale into my Boros EDH deck. I have a couple lying around somewhere and that's a neat utility.

>implying that the tutor had already resolved.
if it had already resolved, you wouldn't be responding to it

like, m8, come on
>>
>>46106323
The only important minute rule here is that you have to hold priority and use the activated ability, you can't let it pass to your opponent or the tutor will resolve when he/she passes it back to you, and you won't have time to activate the LED.
>>
Where's OP?
I wanna know what he pulled
>>
>>46106362

And if you were "tutoring," the spell had to have resolved, you wouldn't be able to legally crack LED, and you would likely lose the game.

The difference being that aside from a ruling and a weird rules interaction that didnt exist at the time of printing, theres really nothing intuitively wrong with cracking the LED while you're searching, and players new to Dredge sometimes don't realize that if they miss a single response window they will outright lose.

Bury is two separate things, depending on if it's burying your stuff or their stuff. And it was back then, too.
If it's targetted burying (in general), it's destroy and can't regenerate, yes, like terror.
If it's bury something as a cost, or bury something each turn, or as a consequence of something like Frenetic Efreet, it turned into 'sacrifice'

Shit's still on the stack, otherwise there would be nothing to respond to.

>theres really nothing intuitively wrong with cracking the LED while you're searching
Yes there fucking is. If you're searching your deck, the spell has resolved and LED has to be used after you reveal your chosen card, put it in your hand and shuffle your deck. Which is completely useless unless you're grabbing something you wanted to discard.

EDH? Yeah, let's take a look

Fulminator Mage is great but probably better in a Modern deck than EDH. You could sell that for a few bucks if you wanted.
Prison Term is a good aura for shutting down commanders.
River Kelpie is good, reliable card draw.
>>46106905
Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers is an auto-include in GW decks.
Mana Reflection is one of the better mana doublers, it's like $20 or something too.
Sudden Spoiling is a necessity in most black decks.
Academy Ruins is a necessity in most blue decks.
Scryb Rangers is good in elf decks I think?
>>46106931
>aether vial
Kiki goes great in most red EDH decks, or you can make him a commander.
Glen Elandra Archmage is a fantastic lockdown card if you can find the other piece (Mikaeus I think?)
Lava Spike and Rift Bolt are worth something to burn players probably, but not so much in EDH
Figure of Destiny might be playable in WR decks? WR is one of the worst color combos in EDH though
>>46106956
>scalding tarn
Pyromancer Ascension is probably better in a 60-card storm deck than EDH
>>46106978
>serum visions
Krark-Clan Ironworks is a godsend in artifact-heavy decks.
E-wit is a necessity in every green deck.
Cranial Plating can deliver a real beating in artifact-heavy decks.
Summoning Station is underrated IMO but fits best in artifact-heavy decks.

Aether Vial, Scalding Tarn, and Serum Visions are worth some bucks and I'd recommend selling those. The Vial and Tarn are playable in EDH but since they're worth so much I'd recommend selling them and getting KTK fetches instead if you absolutely need them

I love opening sealed product. I know it's stupid, but I like it. I don't open standard sealed product anymore because the cards always tank in value so much, and are generally kind of weak in the common and uncommon slots. So I buy the 'cheaper' older sets to open. Then cards are usually more powerful for EDH, and are more consistent in their value.
>>
>>46114013
You'll probably end up making money from this due to the Tarn that you opened, m8.

The cellophane is pretty aged, so if they were repacked, they were repacked awhile ago.

So only 2 rares in this box. Goddamn it wizards!

The foil rare shouldn't count as a rare, I don't think. I've gotten a foil rare from a shadowmoor tournament box before, and it still had 3 rares.

I wonder what would happen if I asked wizards for a misprinted product replacement?
