Like you're God's terror to the heathens.
>>
Good Paladins that really want to help people are the best.
>>

By burning the infidel, you are helping people
>>

How does burning infidels work in your typical super polytheistic fantasy setting where anyone sane acknowledges all the deities are at least real if not reasonable to worship depending on circumstances?

My theory is one that relates to the dualistic nature of man. The bestial man is one driven by instinct, that desires violence and other ways to satisfy his base urges (for the sake of this discussion only violence matters). The rational man tries (or tried, prior to the cancer that is moral relativism) to live a moral life and suppress the base urges of his beastly self. Supress, these urges never disappear.

The objective knowledge that you are utterly pure and righteous and your enemies are utterly impure and depraved and objectively deserve nothing less than death satisfies the beastly man's desire for violence without triggering the rational man's suppression response.

This is also why Jihadis are the most fearsome, competent and unpredictable warriors (talking about the warriors themselves, not their leadership per se): only a holy warrior can have zero doubts about the righteousness of his cause.

Because I wish I was that good in real life.
>>
its the ability to be completely faithful to something which is so lacking for people today
things arent questionable, you are righteous and strong like everybody wants to be.

Inverted edginess.

What's an inverted edge? Blunt object?
>>

Blunt Purity is closest to the opposite of a Sharp Edge,
>>
Because deep down you're a good person and helping feels better than hurting

This anon gets it
>>

Because, even though everyone faps bucketloads to edgy medieval misery porn nowadays, deep down every little boy wants to be a badass knight in shining armor who slays dragons and rescues maidens.
