Which of those worlds is most trans friendly?

Does "rigid traditional gender roles, general attitude of homophobia" mean I'd have to act like a man or would I get the female treatment?

Would divine healing turn me into a girl or would I get turned cis?

Since you're a man, you'd be treated as such, obviously.

It has scientific advances and medicine, but they might try behavior therapy like they do for criminals.

If so, then land of liberty has advanced science and medicine too and wont have laws against it. I might even be able to get sponsorships if being comfortably off isn't wealthy enough to afford it.

The Spymaster
Ward : Princess Alys of Delvaria
Righteous Princess ftw.

Personal Powers:
Enduring Lifeforcex3 to extend my King and Princess's lives
Superhuman Intellect x3 Plots within plots. Traps within traps.
Aura of Attraction It makes people trust me and eager to impress me? Almost too easy.

Intrigue Powers:
Spy Networkx2
Foreign Informantsx2
Operational Leewayx2
Visions of the Presentx2
Power of the Mindx2
Seductive Formx2 Honey trapping all night long.

Leadership Powers:
Religious Education
Historic Education
Secret Hideout
Resurrection Stone

Companions:
Earl Jorn Blackbay to win us the numerous wars to come
Mikhail Jansen for magical protection
Sandra Tenneman (bodyguard and Alys'bff)
Alana Hesberg for SCIENCE and mithril cannons

Drawbacks:
Forbidden Love with Dalin, my King with benefits
A Threat to the Gods

I'm so supernaturally good at being a spymaster it's not even funny. Good Gods. Oh and I wonder if King Dalin could set up his own Delvarian Church, Henry VIII style. With my enduring lifeforce and resurrection stones, I might be able to make him into an immortal God-Emperor... Surprise! this CYOA is now W40k.
>>
>>46075216
Just add steampunk elements and have automatons do the hard work. Then the Victorian lesbians don't have to be serfs and can just lewd it up all day.

>>46074757
>>46074857

They would definitely treat you like a man.

Divine healing I assume is also what they use to turn gays straight. So I assume they would also view being trans as a perversion that needs fixing. "Healing" you by making you cis.

Technocracy, Worker's Republic, or Eco-Commune are probably your best bets. Land of Liberty seems like it would basically be about the same as it is now in terms of general acceptance, maybe a bit better.

Affiliation: Villain
Bio & Powers: Yandere. Claims to be your childhood friend, even if you came from another dimension. Capable of dramatically influencing sensations with a touch, directing the victim's brain to construct vast illusions at her guidance; even time dilation is possible. With concentration she can cause victims to experience minor illusions at a moderate distance. Their main benefit is they're difficult to notice or spot even by experienced parahumans.

Highly concerning is her own resistance to manipulation powers; particularly, yours.

Man, is it weird that I don't want to live in any of these "utopias"? Our world might be shitty but at least it has the potential to one day be just. All of these options have built-in injustice and strife. Eco-commune seems nice until the planet gets hit by an asteroid.

Climate change is a more immediate threat but all life ending due to an asteroid collision is a very real possibility. Collisions are not as rare as people think and as long as humanity doesn't have any ways to deal with them we are living on borrowed time.
>>

Does anyone have those "how to make a CYOA that isn't terrible" things?

Quick question - does the toy have to acutally exist? I presume so, but want to make sure.

Also, if a life size statue of whoever Jorge is counts as a toy, does that mean other similarly sized "statues" count? Like, as an example, a wax statue of Gackt or a Realdoll based on Rei?

Giving thinking before doing wonn't give you the most profit, so that's out of the window and the people with money want more money, so they use that money to keep that change from happening.
Seriously, politcans all around the globe fear doing something of importance when it comes to even small repercussions. And questions that usually have no good answer are ignored till they swell to disproportionate dangers.

You just make your choices, writing them as you go along. Then you write some fluff to explain your intent, and the story you told yourself using the CYOA as a springboard. It's basically an exercise in imagination, or a really lonely autistic rpg.

This isn't an opinion. The data doesn't just go back a few years, it goes back more than a fucking century, and it's all publically available. There are a ton of people a whole lot smarter than your stupid ass willing to explain it to you in third grade terms -- and have, hundreds of times. The overall thermal energy of the Earth is rising. This is causing massive chaos in storms, major shifts in the climates of biomes across the globe, currents to redirect, seasons to become more irregular. And it's going to kill off our fucking species. This isn't a little thing. It is literally, factually, exactly the only god damn thing that matters to our survival.

Not really on this scale, and certainly not with that speed. I mean in business as usual scenario, we're looking at a 6°Celsius increase in mean temperature in less than 150 years. That's fucking insane. The last Ice Age was only 2°Celsius under our mean temperature.

Look up positive feedback loops and runaway effects. There's a very real chance we're done for, us, along with the rest of the mega fauna, and most of the fucking biosphere.

That's not what Martin Rees, the astrophysicist and member of The Centre for Study of Existential Risk says. But he does say that climate change can wipe us out, sooner than people think.

I agree with you but the natural solution is the implementation of a more expanded definition system seams like a waste of time considering how long it would take to implant in the biological community. The anon I was replying to said

And implied that climate change is in the same class of problems we can't do anything about, and that basically
>calm your tits and enjoy your life
I should ignore it and not try to talk about it or take action.

My reply was: No actually. This expert on the subject says that the asteroid scenario is much less likely than the extreme climate change one to present an existential risk. This backs up my argument that one is right to worry about it.

That's not an appeal to authority. Directing someone to an authority in a particular field is not the same as saying "I'm right because I went to Harvard."

If you want to argue something, argue it. Don't go "b-but this guy said so ;_;". I don't give a flying fuck what someone else said. I have no time to look up who he is, why he matters, and the probably 27 people who disagree with him and are equally "experts" on these subject.

Are you a Kim Stanley Robinson fan, by any chance? I remember hearing from someone that his Forty Signs of Rain books were pretty good, they're all about global warming and I think one even includes a scientist going primitivist when he realizes there's nothing that can be done.

Haven't read 'em myself, but Red Mars and The Years of Rice and Salt were pretty damn good.

Your greed will be your downfall! Give us something man! Give us anything, dammit!

Also, I can't believe you let us have stands but not an overly convoluted time power that's impossible for the opposition to fully comprehend. Denying us mutant waifus who exist in deformed misery? Taunting us with Stands but no way to make King Crimson? It's like you're trying to make a serious quality cyoa instead of joke bait here, you bastard.

Seriously though, I have really liked what you've done. Keep up the good work.

Extinct species don't preserve anything. And abandoning comforts doesn't mean a loss in the principles of them. It's about retooling expectations.

>>46083055
That's a platitude, not an argument. Retrovirus gene modding isn't ever going to be cheap, and it certainly is not precise. "tools" isn't a god you worship for miracles, and not everything you enjoy is a tool that makes things more efficient for survival, of either you or the species as a whole. Some things are only efficient for serving up your exploitation by cultural conditions.

>>46083405
Nah bruh, they didn't. Cancer was a lot more rare for most of human existence. Diabetes, schizophrenia, asocial psychopathy, treatment-resistant plagues were a lot more rare. Yeah, you could die from the cold. But you also didn't die from throat lesions due to smog exposure. This isn't an either-or. We can have flu vaccines AND not choke on smoke. You're not being a technophile, you're being a fucking luddite. Coal and slavery is what exists now so it's all that ever can exist again, and let the future rot away, right? Fuck yourself, trying to take some high ground when you're just an anti-intellectual cynic.

I mean, you've got Skitter, Tattletale, Miss Militia, Dragon, Alexandria, Faultline, Contessa, all sorts of Slaughterhouse Nine members, Slaughterhouse Nine-thousand members, Echidna, Echidna clones of the aforementioned potential waifus, best girl Simurgh, the thinker entity, and possibly the third entity. Also, some unique ideas for precog powers:
>Can only detect trigger events; gives a probability spread for certain areas, types of power, and times of triggering over the next year (several if pushed)
>Has a vague sense of how much a given action would affect precogs' plans (deviation given by shard, shards distinguishable); precog shards ignore this power on calculations
>Can see your own (mutable) actions and state - not anything else- for the next few minutes. Doesn't include recursive activations.
>>Other Manton-limited precognitives - only seeing objects.
>Hypothetical precognition: running simulations, from "What if the Simurg attacked now" to "How would that hot babe react to being violated by tentacles" to "What would Panacea look like unmasked". Only one simulation at a time; larger changes reduce accuracy as probabilities are generalized to most likely unless otherwise specified.

I really like that one. I was considering the idea of a "you've read worm"-themed precog power for a non-cyoa project, where it would basically let you continuously read an updated version of the book for the changes you've made. This makes me think of a version of that but for fanfiction scenarios.

Personal powers:

Superhuman Intellect-3
Enduring Lifeforce-3
Superhuman Strength-2
Superhuman durablity-2
Superhuman agility-2
Legendary armor-1

Intrigue:

Spy network(Ansanar)-2
Foreign informants (Sorolona, Bleuria, The Holy Realm, Delvaria)-2 Radicals in Bleuria
Seductive Form-1
Uncanny Senses-1

Leadership:
Combat veteran-1
Engineering degree-1
Historic education-1
Magical education-1
Religious education-1
Inspiring presence-1

This would be utterly amazing to see. The pure amount of chaos in this. I'd likely focus on Bleuria first given the value of their mithril. While attempting to get a friendship going on with Sorolona. Of course before I can start thinking on that I'll need to work on strengthening the position of the king and queen.

Detecting Triggers... maybe a postcog aspect as well, since you can't really expect to reach Triggers in time to recruit them.

I look forward to seeing what you're making. Apologies for the art style, maybe use something from Serial Experiments: Lian instead.

She would be a neet if she wasn't so motivated, finding herself spending months at a time in her apartment/home and lost in the wonders of the web.
Data and code are like air and music to her, and the things she makes are leagues ahead of their time as she dives fully into the virtual world to experience it. As dedicated as a shaman would be to the spirit world, she is a bit guilty of applying the same animism to the internet, but damn if it doesn't get results.
You name it, she can code it or crack it, and encryption is the sort of thing she loves to cut her teeth on. Only hard thing is pulling her away from her Mind Machine Interface (homemade of course) long enough for any interaction that isn't via skype and so on, though as long as you socialize with her and don't take advantage of things without permission you'll get along splendidly.

Nothing to horrible, and the fire magic will serve me well against spiders and hopefully let me counter the foxes. I will hunt enough to pay my dues and save up for a rainy day. Was tempted to try myself against a strange, but that will wait until I'm sure of myself and abilities/mental fortitude.

Which, speaking of being sure of things, fuck the Culling. I'll get into parties via the bounty place, helping support and earning coins, and probably try to work with the other healers in town. End goal will be to save up enough to open an inn/trauma center/bar type place of my own and 'retire' from most hunts with the coin I would make. Getting access to things like training and the Library are a good short term goal as well.
Until then it's careful hunts, party expeditions, and coming back to a cozy place with a strange but pleasantly friendly and accommodating housekeeper.

Here's a sample of what Worm 4.03a will/may be like. Up to "Tier 3" powers will be fairly consistent with Worm power levels. Tier 4 will just laugh at Worm power levels while pissing on it and feeling up its girlfriend's boobs.

We won't necessarily have 4 tiers per power. But I'm aiming at 12 powers per Classification.

Powers will be grouped by their "trees" rather than by tiers/cost, though in the event of a lack of trees, I'd group them by cost.

Am I on the right track? What do y'all think?

Sample:
Mover
Speedster I (-1) You have the comicbook definition of peak human speed & reflexes. Which is to say you can effortlessly outrun Usain Bolt on a bad day and you can maintain that speed. Your reflexes are fast enough for you to narrowly dodge bullets IF you can anticipate the shooter.

Speedster II (-2) You are superhumanly fast. You can zip around rooms in the blink of an eye. You can also keep up with the average car driver. Your reflexes exceed that of any normal human, but pay attention so that you don’t crash into walls or something.

Speedster III (-4) You can now enter “Bullet Time”. You need to accelerate for a second or two to do so, but once in, you’ll perceive the world in slow motion and you can interact with the world at relative speeds. Things move about 1/20 as fast in Bullet Time. Oh, and be careful when interacting with people. Remember, to them, you’re moving impossibly fast.

Speedster IV (-10) You’re a true blue speedster. You can enter Bullet Time at will and tap into the “Fast Force”, which bends physics and your own perception to suit your needs, so that you can interact with people without killing them, run up buildings, across oceans without getting bored and even create tornadoes and speed mirages. You can shake you hands as if you’re shivering, effectively giving yourself “vibro-hands” that can sheer through steel and concrete. You can even “nerf” the Fast Force so that you cause INSANE collateral damage.

Panacea didn't wear a mask. She was New Wave.
>>
>>46087002
It looks good to me, though knowing what you're going with for how many points the player has would be helpful. If endbringer mode still has 40 points it would be kind of neat, since by the looks of it four tier IV powers would probably be right around an endbringer in terms of power.

Also, any idea of what stranger powers you're going to put in? I kind of liked it that you had one category that didn't follow the standard pattern in the original. I liked what you had enough to be inspired to try building wormverse Agent 47 with the original version earlier today.

And if you do pre-generated companions, are they going to have custom powers or just ones purchasable in the cyoa?
>>
>>46087373
Then it's a pretty easy thing to simulate, isn't it?
>>
>>46087395
For Stranger powers, I'll try to think up crazier things like decoys or a perception filter where you look completely different to different people. One person can swear you look like a little black girl while other swears you're big white guy with a rainbow afro and another will think you look like Kevin Bacon.

Also, Predator cloaking.

Probably custom powers for companions.
>>
>>46087002
Looks fine to me. When you say "12 powers per classification" though, do you mean "speedster 1, 2, 3, and 4" count as four powers, or one? Because in the case of the latter, that sounds like it's going to be an ungodly amount of work. In the case of the former, are most of the powers from the original still going to have some form of representation in the new one?
>>
>>46087583
Former. Which means I'll be able to recycle a lot of the older powers.

Shaker will probably get a whole bunch of -kinesis powers.

Brute will likely just be 4 tiers of Strength, Durability and Regen.

Not all powers will have a IV tier. Flight will probably cap at III.

Meanwhile, some Thinker/Trump/Master powers will probably only come in Tier III or IV variants.

I guess at the end of the day, I'm just rebalancing and refining version 1.

Maybe instead of just lower levels of powers within the category, you could have other powers that just aren't as good but could fit into a build as good 'secondary' powers. Just some ideas.

Thinker: Spacial Awareness- Able to feel the surrounding area up to x(200/500?) meters away in any direction being able to make a mental map. You can see or rather 'feel' the whole area at any time but need to focus to concentrate on details. With practice you could learn to read lips or even maybe braille.

Mover: Featherfall- You can modify your weight anywhere between what it actually is and weightlessness.

Shaker: Plant growth- ALL plantlife within x (50/100?) meters around you starts growing at a rapid rate.

Brute: Not there!- Can cover a small portion of body (10x10 cm?) with a totally indestructible force field. This can be moved around to any part of the body.

Breaker: Natural thing Immunity- Immunity to damage from electricity/heat/cold etc

Master: Contracts- Can 'seal' a deal with a handshake that both parties have to follow through with on pain of... Something.

Tinker: 1337- Can create pretty much anything... Once.

Blaster: Gross... - Can create and spit a goo substance at a long distance that can rapidly harden after it's exposed to open air (Pretty much like a natural Protectorate foam)

Thinker: Sleepless- You just plain don't need to sleep. Your body will still need to rest but mental fatigue is now a problem of the past!

Striker: Poo hands- The name is actually a little bit of a misnomer, when you touch somebody you can make them not only violently poop their pants, but also start vomiting!

Changer: That guy from that Xmen movie- Your body can become kind of liquid/rubbery allowing you to squeeze through small spaces and not take as much damage.

Trump: Power sensing- It's in the name.

Stranger: You had lots of good Stranger secondary power ideas already actually!

Just a bunch of ideas I had, hopefully something helps!

Man that's a pretty good idea for a villain. Give people powers but they have to be loyal to you/can't rat on you on pain of death.

Somebody with that powerset would probably get super powerful super fast. Even if it was 'deals can't be forced, a person has to WANT to make the deal or it doesn't work'. In fact that would just make for a cooler villain that has to be all charming and shit.

>>46087672
If you're adding allies, maybe also add enemies. And if you add enemies, add that guy.

Thinker: Maybe a sonar. That might be interesting. Perhaps a Bat-Type Case 53 will get that as a freebie.

Mover: Featherfall, YES. Can't believe I didn't think of that. The parahuman can also set up a cape/glider system.

Shaker: Yeah, I was thinking Shaker would have -kinesis + generation. Ferrokinesis (metal) and metal generation, as well as fauna-kinesis and plant growth.

Brute: Not sure if that fits Brute per se, but Brute's a category that doesn't have much variety anyway. Maybe a temporary across the board power up.

Breaker: Good idea on immunity. It'll probably be the replacement for lawbreaker.

Master: I like the idea of contracts. I've been thinking of that Smallville episode where the guy had to touch someone to control them since version 1, but it didn't seem appropriate at the time. Perhaps the contract system merely forces certain actions to be carried out within a timeframe.

Tinker: While 1337 is okay, don't think anon will want his one time only aspect. I'm adding Tinker 0 to Perks though, which will let you do a Captain Cold type. And I should direct people to Resources for Tinker.

Blaster: Oh, I like the idea of containment foam. I've also noted down Syndromes Zero Point Energy.

Thinker: Sounds good.

Striker: Pooh Hands: Your hands are constantly excreting hunny.

Changer: Collosus from X-Men movie. You transform from human to bitch.

Trump: Power sensing's actually really good as far as Worm is concern.

Stranger: People will always mistake other people for you. Regardless of whether you done a good or evil deed.
>>
>>46088473
There's already a character like that in Worm. In fact, that's what he does... exactly.

Teacher's powers are different, they are addictive and are kinda shit-tier, and very temporary.

But I doubt you could do the "on pain of death" bit, they would have to agree to the contract after all. But you could play Cheap and Less Secretive Cauldron.
>>
>>46088517
I didn't even know this CYOA existed when I started on mine. It sucks that it DOES exist, but hopefully I'll have taken the concept far enough and with enough passion that it comes across as distinct.
>>
>>46082620
Sadly no, a combination of bad play from my side and 1 int from tankdude
>>
>>46088528
Version 1's power editor would be able to do that actually. Give people any powers and put in various conditions. It depends if power editor will even be in version 3. I WANT it to be there though. If everyone wants to take the most powerful power... I'd be totally fine with that. I'm of the belief that CYOAs should let you be powerful, not 'barely better than a peasant'
>>
There are times when working on a cyoa devours time and sanity like a fat boy at a free Doughnut stand.

It has grown beyond my 2 pages towards 4...urgh! Worst thing is I can usually find images but a few have evaded me, which is vexing.
>>
>>46088557
Just remember anon, that no matter how bad, you'll never have to make a 17 page CYOA where you need to find anime images of things such as ribbed newts and triops.
>>
>>46088555
Maybe a Power Extra that requires multiple trees?
Like the Multi-tasking thing that takes Master and Thinker.

You need Power Editor and a Master Power to go full Faust.
>>
>>46088557
niggaligga, I titled my CYOA "short and silly".
It's on page three now.
>>
>>46088572
Perhaps. I am surprised at the lack of images I could find for what I felt was a "common" type of image and I mean art/painting/digital not a screen capture. I tried looking for vampire cowering from a cross, preferably male with no luck. Over an hour searching various boards and google with various terms for cower.
>>
>>46088492
Pooh hands
I actually giggled for about 15 seconds.

Gonna go eat some food and will possibly post another power for each catagory, It's pretty fun thinking of powers!

Oh! And for the Brute thing, I was trying to go off more of the power classifications for things. So brute=Pretty good in a fight. My idea for the force field would be that it's invisible patch of invulnerability you can move around your body. A small thing but imagine getting in a fist fight with somebody with that power?
>>
>>46088627
May have to append "not so" to the title. hehehe.
>>
>>46088577
Good idea. Buying certain combos will give you the option of unlocking new powers?

For instance, Skitter had Master 8 and Thinker 1 or 2. However, her multi-tasking was insanely powerful. In the context of this cyoa, she bought 1 level of Thinker so she could unlock multi tasking.

>Take Blind Spot

>Go with the Faust Idea

Oh My Yes

Another suggestion. What about a "reverse Butcher"?

Butcher's original power was a Master power and the whole Death thing.

What if someone had a-long term Mind Control power, warping people over time so it's less obvious but takes longer, and the ability to "mark" people under their control. If they die, they can jump into someone they've marked, gaining that person's powers if they have them.
>>
>>46088852
Sounds good. Body jacker.

A long term version can be that they can only transfer to their children. So Heartbreaker, the father of Regent, Cherish and co, was making babies as an insurance.
>>
>>46088892
Honestly? The idea I had in my head was a dude who runs an orphanage and who brainwashes and Marks all the kids there over the years, then removes the Marks from the ones who never Trigger.

Allllrighty powers part 2, stronger this time.

Mover: Travel Network- Can travel between doors by connecting them to a network of (6+?) doors. You can open any one of these doors and it will connect to another in the network regardless of distance.

Shaker: Time bubble- That dude from Worm, I just think it's a really neat power.

Brute: Attribute store- Steal attributes and save your own to power yourself to superhuman heights of physical prowess. Strength/speed/endurance etc. (Maybe a stronger version can also do this for mental attributes)

Breaker: Antman/Fenja+Menja- Can grow and/or shrink

Master: Self Cloning- Create loyal clones of yourself, they can however suffer from the same problems an Echidna clone could have if your make too many too fast ie physical deformities and sometimes insanity.

Tinker: Dimensional travel tech- Think Rick from Rick and Morty but specifically just his dimensional travel stuff.

Blaster: Grav cannon- Can shoot a beam that can drastically alter a targets 'gravity'. So you could make something weightless or have an increased gravitational force in whatever direction you choose. You can shoot this beam pretty rapidly but the effect randomly lasts between 5 second and 5 minutes.

Thinker: Dream... Guy- When you sleep you have perfect lucidity and have perfect recall of everything that has ever happened to you. Not only that but you can 'explore' your memories seeing what happened in 1km around you at any time, including your own body while you sleep.

Striker: Medusas Handjob- Turn people to stone with a touch, another touch can turn them back to normal.

Changer: Elemental body- What it says on the tin.

Trump: Power null zone- Can create areas where you can allow/disallow the use of parahuman powers.

Stranger: Swapsies!- Can temporarily switch around peoples attitudes towards each other. Make that guy thinks you're his wife, that his wife is his neighbor, his neighbor is his dog and his dog is you. Why not?

No mo space
>>
>>46082974
So we're not going to post more of this?
>>
>>46089344
So anyway, use these, don't use em, use em as inspiration for better powers, whatever!

Probably going to make at least one more list of powers, randomly pairing up categories for inspiration or something.
>>
>>46089344
sounds like you could make your own CYOA.
>>
>>46089609
Much appreciated dude, I do enjoy making this shit up. I don't really have Photoshop or much interest/talent in the graphic design part of CYOA making though.
