If you want to get an idea of why she's made fun of, go on 1d4chan and find her Realm, "Sapphospire" or something. Searching for 'lesbian' and 'party' will probably bring it up.

I actually intended to limit most mages to a single school of magic. Sorcerors can only use a single element, and healers are relegated to mostly healing and supporting.

It might be a good idea to add in a Red Mage class that could cast a single spell from each school, at the cost of a higher mana cost for their spells.

What does /tg/ think of a werebeast and vampire class? Werebeast would be tank focused by draining health, whereas vampire would be a blood mage that casts spells off of their HP bar.

Funny, that's the way I made it in my setting.

A sorcerer has innate ability with magic, but only with one energy type, like fire. Other types of magic users would be a mage who can do them all but it takes a load of training AND specially prepared magery tools, a priest who can do a mix from their god's portfolio.

Every so often a new energy type is born when a sorcerer introduces it naturally, and then all the mages go crazy trying to be the first to copy it. That's the basic summary of the history of magecraft basically.

Well, that's as far as mages goes, but there would be other types of magic that aren't based on specific energy types, using other interactions like spirit bonds instead.

Personally I think the tank/dps/heal thing is dumb even in video games where it can work out if done well. There's pretty no need for it in a CYOA, in fact it's counterproductive to put it into a medium that's single-player, and happens to not be playable in the first place.

I guess the biggest differences is that like in Toy story, your owner is pretty important. I've got 8 to choose from, and then will have some extras and negatives to choose at the end in the same vein as my AI CYOA, like jumbo size, accessories, rich kid, leader, and whatnot.

Not sure if I should add companions yet. I have a few good ones in mind based off some toys I actually have like xenomorph with broken jaw, lifesize bust, old hand-me down toy, bionicle figure, monster figure, beanie baby, and more.

I like both. I've run into classless systems I liked and didn't like. I've run into class based systems I liked, and those I didn't like.

The class systems I like, do allow some wiggle room within them. Perhaps it's a controlled dual class system, or a class you can specialize several ways within, albeit with more limits than a fully free and classless system.

I'm quite fond of Psionics in RPG systems, and, in my opinion, like true "enchanter" or "illusionist" style classes, even when they are done, they're rarely done well. I think because many systems tend to roll control and evade play styles into more DPS oriented classes. Psionics suffer from similar issues, even when their abilities may go beyond mental manipulation into imposing their will power on the physical realm via telekinetics and such.

While I also agree on your notes about classes having their own, "systems" to fuel and play off if, I'd add another. I like artifact style magic users. I feel, and this is just my opinion, old D^&D was onto something with Sorcerers and Wizards being different types of arcane casters. I'd have taken Sorcerers further in the, "naturally magical, magic comes from their body/soul/heritage/etc" play style that was very physical. In contrast I'd have taken Wizards to be more reliant on artifacts, wands, books, etc. The pages of a spell book literally being their spells, flipping a magic missile page out of the book and having it turn into said magic missile. Or gear, not necessarily wands, that fire spells, like a gauntlet with etchings and crystals built into that glow and brighten as they build up to firing off a bolt of fire.

Obviously that's just me, I know not everyone likes such an approach.

Think about it, the ISS is approx. 400 km high which is small enough to fit in the 12757 km limit. Usually the refueling/ressources ships have a 2.5 ton payload and cost probably in the range of a few hundred million dollars.
I could reduce their costs for refueling, shipping supplies and transporting people from ca. 150 billion $ to pretty much nothing even if they paid me like 10% of the normal shipping costs. They'd get quicker, safer and cheaper delivery which could mean moon stations and exploration of the planets, since I could cross the distance earth-moon in 30 jumps and I get to live a life free of poverty while going to space
