>>45118394
Mostly the same things as the Godzilla from the animated series, but better. He was bigger, stronger, had hotter atomic breath, and was way more durable. Seriously, don't try nuking him. Not only will it not work, he'll absorb the radiation and transform into "Burning Godzilla", who is a walking nuclear meltdown that when it finally does burn itself out will be reborn like a phoenix from any surviving gojirasaurs left in the world. Which...well, there probably aren't any in the animated series universe, so it would get rid of the threat of Godzilla eventually. Just at the cost of huge amounts of death and destruction along the way.

They're attracted to it, whether they feed on it or not is unknown. Probably not, though, since they've lowered the numbers of people and those potential negative energy so far.
Notably, they can learn, and older Grimm become more intelligent, even to the point of having strategy. They still try to kill everyone. Kind of sinks the "no agency, can't be evil" argument.

I dunno, probably Song Magic. D&D magic systems are powerful, but too shallow a pool for what you see a normal meguca do. One spell a day doesn't really work for someone who does magical transformations, uses energy blasts, etc.

So, yeah, maybe a combination of Song Magic and Bending.

>D&D magic systems are powerful, but too shallow a pool for what you see a normal meguca do. One spell a day doesn't really work for someone who does magical transformations, uses energy blasts, etc.
No, Warlock is exactly what you want here. Though you might want to not tell them exactly how the thematics of the class are working.

Give RWBY Aura to young girls. Then send Grimm to kill them. Easy enough.
>>
>>45119488
I know the jump has a drawback that makes you act like that, but I can't recall anyone in the show who thinks that.
>>
>>45120230
One change I want to suggest, don't send Grimm after them.

Instead, use some other monster maker perk to create their enemies. This frees you up to take Resonate instead of Abyssal, letting you partially copy the Semblances of your magical girl students and set up the shocking reveal that you gave them powers and had them risk their lives in order to make yourself stronger.

Nice.

>>45120149
>Warlock
Don't Warlocks suffer from the same silliness that Wizards do in respect to casting limits? The whole, you can cast 1 spell a day at L1, 2 at 2, etc?
>>
>>45120334
IMO I rather have Grimm then partial copies of semblances.

They're particularly adjustable depending on whether or not I want murder wolves, bloody crows, or motherfucking dragons.

That and I don't need to feed them.
>>
>>45119997
How stable are Resident Evil viruses? If you can stabilize it so that they don't turn into tentacley pulsating meat monsters that'd probably be a good base to start from.
>>
>>45120460
Especially if you take Crimson Saint to turn magic into tech, then Cobra-La Biotechnology to turn tech into biotech. Throw in some miniaturization perks so you can make your magic biomachines bacterium-sized, and you could make an infection that gives magic.
>>
>>45120543
>Perk that can turn magic into tech
>Perk that can turn tech into biology
Are there any perks that let you turn biology into magic? You know, for completion?
>>
>>45120368
No. Warlocks don't have spells, they have incantations and an eldritch blast, neither of which have a per-day limit. Very appropriate class for magical girls, actually.
Also, wizards spells are much more common than one a day per level.
>>
Are there any perks that let you gain EXP and level up? The closest I can find is EXP Module from Borderlands.
>>
Does taking Supard as a race in Mushoku Tensei count as a drawback or could you just switch to a different alt-form right away to avoid the negative effects?
>>
>>45120642
Crimson Saint goes either way, and there's a perk in SCP that lets you reverse engineer the biology of strange things. So you could use that.
>>
>>45120825
Supard as a race isn't a drawback. The drawback version is green hair.

The Deal Maker from Disney Princess (magical contracts) plus Sorcery from Viking Saga (grant a wish at a nasty price) plus Ensoul from Cardcaptor Sakura (creating the soul gem thingy)?
>>
>>45120094
>One spell a day doesn't really work for someone who does magical transformations, uses energy blasts, etc.

Well, if you were granting magical girl powers, that could easily be something like being a tenth level wizard or sorcerer. That's a lot of spells.

But Song Magic is perfect for Magical Girls anyway, and there's less chance of them figuring out how to summon demons.
>>
>>45121550
>and there's less chance of them figuring out how to summon demons.
Just throw a planar lock on the area. Or better, grant them Warlock powers but don't give summoning.
>>
>>45119997
How does norse runic magic work? You can pick it up in VS, and if you did could that be something to use?

Like, if you more or less tattooed a meguca with certain runes would that allow them to cast spells based off of those runes?
>>
>>45120150

Songstone isn't really a sonic weapon kindof thing.

It converts the emotional component of noise (the singer's feelings or thoughts) into physical energy/matter, but it doesn't do it immediately. It could do lasers and things though, but the best use would be with the standard Reyvateil or Organito methods.

It would probably turn telepathic power into energy as well.
>>
>>45121739
> How does norse runic magic work?'
Words have power. You can inscribe things with words to give them power related to that word (so 'horse' might make you fleet or good at carrying things). There are a finite amount of words available. Less than you think. That's about it.
>>
>>45121788
One of the raw components of songstone does just blindly output the sound you give it though, if cracked. It stores sound and since without the other materials it can't output it, it's explosive when damaged.
>>
>>45121840
If you had something that was magic conductive, do you think it'd be feasible to tat someone up with the respective runes and give them permanent access to those powers?
>>
>>45120642
I don't know, Metaphysical Biology?
>>
>>45121881
You don't need something that is magic conductive for Norse stuff. What matters is that you write the runes properly and with what amounts to good grammar. Basically in Norse Myth words define reality, by writing a thing you are declaring it to be true, even if it is factually false you are making it at least partially true. The better you write it the better it works.

Personally I wouldn't worry about duplication. If the way you write the lore and the jump is unique enough, and the content is accurate to the source material, even if it overlaps with another jump in the same overall "genre" it's still acceptable.

Just as you can't presume everyone will not take both of those jumps, you can't presume that people will take all both of those jumps, so it's better to simply focus on what the source material lets you work with and proceed from there.

The evil speedster will always be faster than you. Even if you're going 3rd speed of light, he's going half speed of light. It's a drawback for a reason. Potentially the villains have access to the full speed force so they're not limited by any means. They'll always be faster.
>>
>>45124211
Can they go faster than the speed of light?

The easiest way to deal with the Speedster drawback is to have a companion with a whole different and as equally if not more powerful set of abilities as your own. Fucboi jumpers or those focused on companions can take similar drawbacks with pretty much no downsides. Meat shields are GREATTTTT.
>>
>>45124359
That's true. I don't see what the problem is.
>>
>>45124238

Flash out raced the Black Speedster, aka Death. He then outraced death past existence before turning back around.

It's a pretty tough drawback, but you can't brute force the villain. It took Firestorm + Flash (and Team Flash) + Green Arrow to fight Reverse Flash on even grounds. Then when they knocked out his speed, he still fought evenly against Green Arrow in hand to hand combat. That's saying something, considering GA is the Arrowverse's Batman pretty much.

Good and Evil are subjective terms.
The way they are described in D&D is closer to Altruistic vs Selfish
Liberalism has individuality and self interest at it's core.

Drawbacks aren't meant to kill everyone or be unbeatable. People are supposed to be able to think up plans and have methods to counteract them.

Actually, one thing that a companion-focused build is fantastic at is letting your jumper get access to stuff without having to write from the perspective of someone with those abilities. Tech perks especially, but even just general mental boosting perks, a lot of professional fields and so on.

The drawback itself is the most easy to deal with within a few jumps of starting if you play your cards right. Perhaps getting a companion to put you in a jar and then slotting you with something like Inventory of Steve would be the truly easiest way to deal with it, or some equivalent of. That, or some item specifically designed to kill them.

Remember it has to be interesting to the benefactor. If you're hiding behind Superman when Sinestro shows up. Then it's not very entertaining.

Also remember that villains are going to be fast. They'll probably know how to deal with super tough opponents. There's the infinity mass punch for a reason. Also villains aren't just one dimensional, look at Zoom. He kidnapped Harrison Wells of Earth-2's daughter. Zoom then used her as leverage against Wells to fatten Barry up like a Speedster Goose.
>>
>>45124921
The implication to "murder for your own gain" is that it does not, in fact, depend on the people. Obviously if the person matters to you personally you may have extra compunctions, even Evil individuals can have people they care about and do not wish to see harmed, but lack of regard for life in general is an Evil trait.

That's not an viable argument. It's never been a viable argument. Their interests would vary immeasurably in any one scenario with any two persons in the situation. I know there is only supposed to be one of us but to put a baseline on what interests them is not only saying "do things my way" but literally getting all but a handful of jumpers smited upon leaving the choice sections of [insert their first jump]. I'm not defending powergaming or whatever but the aforementioned is literally under these pretenses what would happen to 9X% of jumpers.

>There's the infinity mass punch for a reason. Also villains aren't just one dimensional, look at Zoom.
Yeah, I know I know not nearly enough to take the drawback. I'm not going to, but it needs to be fleshed out more to state what you're actually dealing with. If, say, you're dealing with all the evil speedsters from all the version of DC comics you'd have to be actually insane to take the drawback.

Nah, the only way for the Russian revolution to turn out well would be for the German revolution to have succeeded. I'm sure there were more turning points for the Soviets that could have been capitalized on had a better administration existed (possibly Trotsky, possibly not- he was pretty arrogant and abrasive apparently), one that didn't involve the ideal of socialism-in-one country, or being super gung-ho about forced collectivization of peasants, but material conditions practically screwed the soviets from the start.

I've prayed to shinto spirits, which are not really "gods", and is more like a generalized sign of respect and asking forces to look out for me and mine. For that matter, I've been known to occasionally mutter a few prayers to nebulous higher forces ("Hey, I don't know if anyone's listening, but...") because if anyone out there feels like sending some good luck my way, I'm not too proud to turn it down.

Well, I started from a Christian background, but it's hard to keep to an Earth-centric faith after you visit your first non-Earth planet, let alone your dozenth or hundredth. But that doesn't mean I lost my faith, just that it changed. I now believe in the Creator, and my faith is stronger than ever, if only because in every single universe I enter, it's demonstrably true. Each universe has an Author, a Director, a Coder - sometimes there's one, sometimes there's many, but no universe with the possible exception of ours has ever arisen ex nihilo - and after hundreds of universes, it's silly to think ours is the exception. So I offer my prayers to the Creator, whoever they might be, and I ask for them to guide me to interesting stories, and deliver me from bad writing in all its myriad forms.

Excuse me, but I seem to have run into an Issue with the Tenchi Muyo Jump. Does the Smiling Goddess Leaves give you a First-Generation Tree Ship, or does it just allow you to purchase it? The perk implies the first interpretation, and the Item supports the second.

I just have an emblem. The ouroborous from FMA. It's distinctive enough that nobody uses it except me outside that jump.
I guess if I had a business card, that'd be on it.

Unless this were a modern day jump or something where that exists, then that would just look incredibly dorky.

I... uh... yeah, actually...?
I've given a lot of hugs and I tend to get them in return sometimes.

Smiling Goddess Leaves gets you a TREE.

The item at the bottom of the items section gets you a SHIP, built specifically FOR the Tree.
>>
>>45128152
Thank You. I seemed to have missed that.
>>
>>45128152
I like to think you might be able to convince them to build you a ship eventually regardless. A 1st gen tree picking anyone is a HUGE deal, and in all the history of Jurai, only one person who didn't go on to be Emperor in their lives was picked by one. They were all in the royal family to boot. You're pretty much going to be one of the most important people around.
>>
>>45128231
Sure, but that ship won't have Benefactor Warranty. The Tree will probably pull it along with you from jump to jump, but if it gets damaged...

How well would the tree adapt to being stuck in a ship from a different jump instead?
>>
>>45128268
I think the tree would be fine, provided that you modify the ship to support it. I know there have been plans by multiple people to put it in the Light of Terra.
>>
>>45128268
They can be repaired, so you should theoretically be okay. I'd still gank some knowledge on how the ships are made so you can rebuild it if it becomes necessary.
>>
Could you use Dragon Kata from Spyro the Dragon as a way to use Mana for fuel for other Chi-based martial arts, like the ones from Wuxia and Dragonball?
>>
>>45128344
Possibly? Although that would probably require additional training to match all the techniques.
Not "thousands and thousands of years" training, I think you could pick it up about as easily as creating any martial art, but it's not something you could just pick up and start doing.

Also, Dragonball has such ridiculous power levels there might not be any advantage to doing that.
>>
>>45128175
No problem. There's quite a bit about the jump that's kinda convoluted.

>>45128231
True. Plus I think that perk tied to the tree gets you a position in any royal family in future jumps.

>>45128268
Do the planting process carefully- and I mean REAL FUCKIN' CAREFULLY. And you could feasibly let your Jurian Tree take control of any ship anywhere.
>>
Reminder that the tree ship deserves import into Kancolle more than the LoT.

>>

Actually, I guess if you successfully transplanted the tree over to the LoT beforehand, then it would just be one giant ship that the tree controls.
"Jumper-san, this thing steers like a brick. That's been stuck in a tar pit. That's been lost underground. Why would you put me in this?!"
The LoT doesn't really have a consciousness before that, so if you imported it into Kantai at that point, it would just be "The Light of Terra's body, but with the personality of the Jurai Tree."
She becomes a huge amazonian shipgirl who is sensitive and insecure about her overly large body.

No, it has one well before you ever get there. You should look into Imperial ships more, anon.

Even if you don't get the inertialess drive that should have it handling better than any normal tree ship there are a number of options to boost its speed and maneuverability.
>>
>>45129308
They don't have personalities. Individual guns and such might or might not have Machine Spirits, but they're not the ship itself. There's no such thing as a ship AI in the Imperium.

The whole thing is has an old and powerful machine spirit. All Imperial ships do (well, some less old than others, obviously, but the LoT is very, very old). So do some of the larger tanks, which are generally extremely simplistic, and Titans, which are much larger and generally more aggressive than tank ones, though still far "less" than ship ones. Much like past Princeps leave their personality shadows on the edges of Titan machine spirits, captains and techpriests and so on that link with the ship leave echoes of themselves.
Also, there totally is ship AI, though it's DAoT remnant stuff the Mechanicus doesn't know about.
>>
>>45129601
It varies by the ship, a lot of the newer ships have far more simplistic systems, possibly having the navigation systems being just a room full of people to do calculus in, or they have basically a bunch of servitors linked together. Though the way the jump talks about the cogitator core, it's a DAoT bit of tech that should have one of the most advanced AI in the history of 40k in it, just to be able to handle navigating the warp on it's own. Whether it has a personality that would be recognized as such or not is more questionable, and the answer is almost certainly fanwank it.

Touching it gives a brief, transcendent telepathic description of our nature, current objective, credentials and contact details. Holding it with the intent to communicate back causes the Correspondence sigils for "Librarian of space and time" to scrawl themselves on the card. There's only one being we pray to: The Benefactor. Sadly, in Age of Ice the only god we respected wasn't willing to make an alliance.

The next best deity we're on overall best terms with is Jubileus, thanks to being her child and host. Because our goals align so closely there's little need for such pretense; we simply act in accordance with our role and all Paradiso follows.

This isn't to say we wouldn't raise temples and monuments to other gods, mind you-some of our best friends are gods and goddesses. Mind you there is a bit of compromise in promoting everyone's aspect since Elune and Glorificus don't see eye to eye for obvious reasons, while Brigid's really big on justice as a concept and Ultima just wants people to not muck around with the natural order and the Farrow sisters have strange ideas for what's proper attire for a psychopomp.

So naturally, there's a lot of give and take when it comes to which aspects get promoted, and how.

Apart from that-we generally promote the Titans over the Olympians. We advise them to emphasise the merits of the Golden Age. We're also on fairly good terms with most iterations of the Aesir, no relation to Aesir, God of Chaos.

And if we're including gods who worship us-there's the Fal'Cie fragments we cultivated from FF13-3 as glorified slaves. If you consider the True Fae to be the Old Gods of the Thistle four loose associations of them have been bound by oath and contract as merceneries in our service. We ended up gathering an anti-cult of small gods who did tasks for scraps of deitygen on the Disc; using A Weight Upon The Brow and To Treat With Spirits we cultivate similar cabals of spirits in other worlds as the ultimate spy network.

Finally, our relationship with the Judgements is...complicated. Suffice to say we do truly have their best interests at heart.

>>45130974
The Titans lead a Golden Age for humanity, and Prometheus taught humanity how to use fire after the gods kinda ruined life on the planet in their war. So yeah, Titans were definitely better deities. That said, Greek myth is less about worshiping the righteous, and more about paying respect to your masters, because they rule nature and it's your responsibility that you have to do, especially if something benefits you.
>>
>>45131038
No, there are, just not in that setting. Except maybe some of the Evil ones, since they at least have an excuse.
Also maybe Gond, not sure what his opinion was on the Wall issue but he's pretty good about stuff the other gods get whiny about when it comes to tech.
