I'm getting paranoid about the CYOA I'm working on. In pic related is 2/8? pairs of characters done so far. If my boxes for future characters are placed vertically beneath each one, would it be annoying to the eyes seeing the same color scheme for the box and fonts over and over again?

Here's a small update, maybe should have waited at least 24 hours before a fan edit but it's nice to see someone cares enough to put the work in.

I obviously still prefer my ridiculous vampireboob pin-up version.

Some of it is also written around the pictures, found the art before I knew where I was going with each girl so there's some references to stuff in picture (Libbie's Vlad tattoo, Lilibeth's sexy nurse comments, etc.) that don't make a great deal of sense with different pictures. Also think tonally the whole thing is pretty frivolous so you might as well have tasteless erotic goosebumps style art.

Yes, that is a very apt description of it.
By making you answer which of the options you would choose it also lets you know something about yourself by making you realize why you prefer a particular option.

For me it also fills the niche of what I call "falling asleep CYOAs".
You can read it over once, and there aren't so many options that you can't keep them all straight in your head. So I like thinking about a choice game like that as I am dozing off.

I'm not trying to make it sound like a perfect choice game, but there are things that we could all learn from it. Yes it's wish fulfillment but in a way that is close enough to your current life for you to be able to imagine it clearly. Also it defines the powers you get by the limits of those abilities, a very good approach.

I also like how it uses a single after effect to make the images seem like they fit together conceptually.

If there is one thing I could change about it it's to make it from a choose one into a choose up to two CYOA. It's a very simple change that nevertheless significantly increases the number of possible builds.

Its biggest downside, that I think is unavoidable in this case, is that this really isn't well suited to posting builds and discussing other's choices.
But really, we don't actually do that anyway, right?

On the other hand, for all my faults with the art style it is a VAMPIRE waifu CYOA so Drusa, Astrid and Wilhelmina's old versions seem more spot-on.

Otherwise...ideally I'd like New!Drusa's pic to represent Tertia; the art style does do the "ethereal waif" thing better for me since Tertia doesn't seem like the sort to take blood like wine.I do like New!Tertia's pic though; I just think that serious expression suits Lilibeth's slot more. On the other hand New!Magdalena just doesn't look anything like a savage proto-Yugoslavian and as much as I like New!Wilhelmina's pic, it just seems more appropriate to a separate and hypothetical Witch Waifu CYOA. Is that so bad? I made a CYOA called Titans of the Sky a long time ago, and in fairness it wasn't well designed. The graphics were mediocre and the mechanics were byzantine.
