When did a New Zealander make the thread?

So it begins again!

Tell me about your sheep, /jc/!
>>
>>44655256
Other than being born in the year of the sheep, there's not much to tell. I don't think I've ever interacted with a sheep in this life or in any later ones.

Sheep is worst zodiac though.
>>
>>44655256
Sheep are evil balls of fluff that want to take over the world.

Question about a plan I have for the Undertale Jump.
Would it possible to use Dark Binding to give Asriel some of the souls you've collected to bring him back permanently? Would he even accept the offer?
>>
>>44655411
You want to give Asriel evil souls? Because those are the only sort Dark Binding can safely contain. Something tells me that won't be good for his already strained sense of decency.
>>
>>44655460
It says that good souls will corrupt you, so just use those perks people were suggesting earlier that prevent you from being corrupted.
>>
File: cherrylizard.gif (2MB, 400x225px) Image search: [Google]
cherrylizard.gif
2MB, 400x225px
Why have you not accepted the feral cravings that boil within you, /jc/? They will always be part of you, you must know this. You cannot control or tame them - and unless you allow them to truly become part of you, part of the vision you have of yourself, they will never cease to torment you.
>>
>>44655539
Nah, I've got a topical cream for that.
>>
>>44655529
You and asriel are 2 separate beings with 2 separate power sets. Just because x doesn't affect you does not imply it will work the same way for asriel.
>>
>>44655460
Now that I think about it, there should be enough magictek, magical systems and perks for me to make an item that keeps his soul intact.
>>
I have a question about Avatar: TLA/LOK.
If I take Metalbending from one of them, does taking it from the other double my abilities in that area, or is it something else?
>>
>>44655411
Didn't the authors say that while SOULs are souls, souls are not SOULs, meaning that he won't just magically regain his empathy if you give him some random one you got in another world?
>>
>>44655652
This

>>44655701
Do keep in mind-I think the issue is what he really needed was the power of SOULs, not just any old souls, which only Undertale humans have. So if you want to keep him together somehow, you're gonna have to kill someone for their's.

This is, of course, overlooking the fact that if you could restore Asriel this way he'd be wracked by guilt at subsisting off someone else's life and would likely try to give it up
>>
>>44655652
No, what I'm saying is that you can use that to store good souls. If you have no problem killing innocent people, anyway.

I prefer goats, personally.

>>44655407
Man, would you believe, I've never actually tried it? I hear it's good though. I probably should someday.

>>44655411
I mean. It depends on the soul? You don't want to give him an evil soul. That's just gonna make shit terrible for everyone involved.
I'm not sure Dark Binding is the perk to use with that, what with the possible corruption aspect.

Also, reminder that you need to figure out some way to restore him to his old form. Or wait 'til just after the true pacifist run, for those thirty minutes or so he still has it after. Otherwise, he'll still be a flower. So that's something to consider.

I just gave him one of mine. I had nine of them, losing one wasn't that big a deal. Monster Cat is really such a great perk.
Of course, it was a Temmie soul at the time.
He said he had the strangest feeling, like he wanted to nom on some construction paper.
>>
>>44655749
I'm not sure on this, but I decided it would let me manipulate purer metals, that Earthbenders can't normally bend. Seems fair for a total cost of 700 CP
>>
>>44655749
>>44655855

Dark Sun, you mean, not Ravenloft. And they're called Avangions.
>>
What's the deal with the Kingdom Hearts jump? Is it abandoned?
>>
>>44656238
Avangion.

Psionic and Magical powerhouses who take longer to metamorphose than Dragons because their process is dedicated more towards preservation of life and such.

Really one of the only forces of Good in Dark Sun.

I spent every point I had in the warehouse supplement on stasis pods to bring more Mareep with me after a visit to mystery dungeon. Also one very insistent Joltik.

We're the woolly warriors of the multiverse!
Team Static!

Since those heady early days most the team has grown to various evolution states they're comfortable with - a couple Ampharos, a handful of Flaaffy, and a heap of Mareep. Jonah is still a Joltik.

Is it *actually* dead or is the author just busy with real life and lurks around as anon? It's jumpable as it is isn't it?

When they hurt my friends.
They can say and do whatever they want to me. But if they harm someone I care deeply about, even if the only thing they did was make one of them cry, I will destroy them.
>>
>>44656805
>a) When I have to
If I encounter something threatening that goes significantly beyond what I can handle with the restrictions I've assumed to make myself "normal" for the jump (Note: normal may mean legendary hero in some circumstances), then I start breaking out the big guns.

>b) If I get beyond mad
Infuriating me past mere annoyance, attacking companions or close friends with murderous intent, doing horribly horribly evil things, etc. etc.

>c) If it'd be fun
Because let's face it, there's nothing like waiting for the Reapers to invade and then unveiling the LoT, a ship rivaling the citadel in scale, with weapons whose barrel diameter is equal to the length of the average warship in ME.
>>
>>44655411
I can't believe I'm not the only one that wants to do this, honestly.

My plan is to use, quite literally, a ring of three wishes from Forgotten Realms to wish for his SOUL to exist, and to be whole again. Even if it eats all three of the ring's charges, it'd be worth it.

I'm going in as Fallen Child, playing through for the True Pacifist run myself. I'm gonna repair goatdad and goatmom's relationship issues, fix goatbro, and spend the last few years of that Jump as their adopted kid/brother. Shenanigans will ensue.

Shoulder length, wavy, brown.
Uh...
Sometimes I burn it for on-the-go evocation.
I cut it sometimes if it gets singed or I need to disguise myself.

Not sure what else there is to say.
>>
>>44657761
Umm. People keep telling me I need to cut it. It's curly, so it's actually much longer than it looks normally, so when it gets wet, people see my hair that usually goes to my shoulders get to around to the fifth/sixth vertebrae from the place where the neck meets the body.

Other than that, it's a dark brown, but it looks very light brown under the right light. It's also very luscious and full, and it never needs washing.

It's thin, it's sparse, and it doesn't ever really stop growing. It's naturally black, but it starts going gray at around 20 years old. Gets me that mad doctor look in tons of jumps, but it still feels kind of odd.

I didn't buy a template in Body Mod. No beauty or appearance perks either, and I'm not planning on taking them any time soon.

I don't care what my companions say. I can grow a damn afro if I want to! I just need some more time to work on it. More than ten years, yeah. I can do it.

>>
>>44657761
Mine's gotten to the point where it would be inconveniently thick and long if not for various beautifying/convenience perks. Wavy, brown in spring and summer, white in fall and winter thanks to some arctic fox muckery. I usually keep it in a plain ponytail that bats around my ankles, but for formal affairs I go full-on elf princess braids and jewels errywhere, with a silver circlet sorta like Galadriel's.
>>
>>44657761
I keep mine in a crew cut. I think I am the only non fabulous jumper.
>>
>>44657761
Down past my ankles and trailing about 1/3 of the length of my 22-foot-long tail (and that's in basic interaction mode) in terms of length, dark brown-ish red, luxuriously full and soft, silky, pretty much the most fucking fabulous hair in the entirety of /jc/ and I'm aware I sound arrogant claiming that.

Also, it's good qualities only increase when exposed to fire (which, being as I am made of fire is 100% of the time), and it just complements my bronze & ivory horns so magnificently. Excellent channel for my magic as well.

I love it long and love it gold (Literally made of gold. But still fluffy. That's perks for you.). Whole bunch of various things (God of War, Fate, Toriko) have led to it being kilometers long even in it's most basic form. Since it's alive and sapient (And awfully hungry), I generally have it act as a massive fluffy gold cloud for me to lay about on and have it just move around for me by pulling itself along with strings of hair, same with having it attack for me.

My one regret is how much of a pain it is to find a pic with that sheer amount of hair and in the right colour.

Shooter's gauntlets from High School Of The Dead
The Micromanipulators from Railgun are gloves.
You can pick up power fists from 40k, and there are an absolute /ton/ of magical gloves across the various fantasy RPG/dugeons & dragons settings, but I don't think they're anything special in terms of jump gear.

I blame my dependence on my time in Dwarf Fortress. I made the mistake of taking the drawback that let the semi-megabeasts, megabeasts, Titans, and Forgotten Beasts out and about.

They thought I was delicious, and for that I blame Armok, for he obviously got tons of laughs out of the whole ordeal.

Apparently that's just the internal structure, they were going to slap a squid exterior on it when it was done.
No, it doesn't make sense. Practically none of what the Reapers do does.
>>
>>44659479
Concept art of the Human Reaper is that it would grow over time and transform into the Leviathan shape. I have been working on my Requiem Stand what do y'all think of this.

Forever Delayed: Act 5 Requiem
Power: B
Speed:A
Range: around the user and the immediate area.
Durability:A
Precision:A
《Forever Delayed Requiem 》 has the ability to completely delay all absolute, conceptual, spiritual, and physical action, effects and damages.
The major rule to this is the user cannot delay an effect or action while he is committing i.e punching can cause him to be punched using magic and reality warping affects let's those same effects affect him.

So what do yall think anything that needs to be changed?

One thing you could do that may or may not work hinges on you being an Angel in EVA.

Go Monster in Undertale, then ease into your Angel form, and from there tear a big ol' chunk out of your mind-soul (it'll heal). Give that mass of SOUL (because you went Monster) to Asriel, and that should hopefully do it.

If your Monster SOUL hasn't fully integrated with your soul, or if it won't integrate untill after the jump (I'm unsure as to what the ruling is), then you can use Metaphysical Biology to study SOUL-stuff and hopefully engineer a non-sentient blank SOUL to give to Asriel.

Basically, if you can't pull a big enough chunk of SOUL from yourself, then throw some science at the problem.
>>
>>44655411
I feel like Dresden magic should be able to fix this with a generous injection of Soul Source amplified magic.
>>
>>44660627

>>
>>44655210
So, I'm confused. With these CYOA's you're just rolling up your ideal character right? There's no actual game to play?
>>
>>44660670
You're pretty close.

You know how character creation was something of a minigame in and of itself in D&D 3.5? It's kind of like that - building characters to pass the time because you never get to play.
>>
>>44660670

Its a framework for something that falls between mad libs and a writing exercise.
>>
>>44660670
Kind of. Just pick the choices in the pdfs, lie back and think of an imaginary adventure.
>>
>>44660670
There is and there isn't. The game plops you down into a pop-culture setting and leaves you to decide the story using the jumps as frameworks. You're basically your own DM and DMPC.

So, basically what you get from it is imaginary adventures you can choose to share with us or not, with an arbitrary fairness decided by whether we buy that the perks you bought justify your story.
>>
>>44660670
It's probably possible to set up a RPG with this, but it'll be a very basic RPG with the only numbers really being perks and such. Everything else would be just role playing. I imagine that's how potato would be handled anyways.

>how fast is X-Men's Quicksilver, I want to recreate kitchen

scene
You ever watch the movie Spaceballs? Where they go to Ludicrous Speed? Yeah. That. Because based on the kitchen scene and a few back-of-the-pizza-splattered-envelope calcs, Quicksilver is "moving" at roughly _ten thousand times_ normal human speed. That bit where he runs on the walls? Several hundred times the speed of sound, anon.

And "moving" is in quotes because the room subsequently fails to experience a shockwave strong enough to convert it all to thermonuclear plasma - so it's rather more likely that his power is instead fucking with spacetime. And it's screaming OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD and there are cigarettes afterwards, that's how much he's fucking with it.

Do the Doctor Who jump. The Doctor will of course make sure you don't get your hands on any Timelord tech. That's not a problem, because then you do the Cortex Command jump and claim the entire Timelord tech base via the Founder perk. But do make sure you read the fine print.
>>
>>44661015
It was a bad film. You can enjoy bad films, but being a complete copy of an older movie in the franchise with less enjoyable characters makes it a bad film overall.
>>
>>44660670
>There's no actual game to play?
There's more game to it than solitaire, if you want there to be.
You "play" it on your own, so you decide what that actually means. Might mean just making builds, but it might mean summarising your adventures in an event log, or going full in-character diary of your adventures, or even using random generators to decide what happens, anything really.
You're the DM as well as the sole player character, so you can skip the boring bits and focus on whatever you like.

That said, there's a lot of metagaming chat about builds and settings, what people chose to do in different situations, all the stuff that arises from each participant's story because of the choices they made.

It's the same thing that's wrong with games industry, they know that familiar titles + wide interest/accessibility = mountains of cash. Everyone went to see Star Wars Ep.7 because everyone on earth was familiar with Star Wars at least a little bit and the motivations for seeing the film ranged from love of the series to sheer curiosity over that thing everyone else is freaking out about for some reason. There are very few franchises that could've generated as much hype for a new film.

So, being a Hollywood producer, would you rather fund a sequel to a mildly successful giant-monster action movie? Or would you rather use the success of Maleficent to make a live-action film about a young Cruella Deville? This is actually happening by the way.
>>
>>44661177

My favorite food? Booze.

Specifically, a concoction I call "Jumper's Lament"

It's made of one shot Ryncol, one shot Romulan Ale, one shot Dwarven Sunshine, and one shot of Sanguine's Special Brew. Mix and serve in a thick-walled adamantite stein enchanted with frost runes.

After one or two things get fuzzy, and any more than that ends up with me and my companions waking up the next morning in a random place, with crippling headaches, and a vague sense that whatever we did was both awesome and highly likely going to bite us in the butt at a later date.

Luckily, we always have at least 2 designated sober beings (a Porygon and an A.I.) so we tend to have a record of the shenanigans we partake in. Unfortunately, the binary buzzkills horde that footage for blackmail material and so that they can laugh at us fleshy organics.

Fun Times.

This line doesn't make sense.
>>
>>44662512
If the user is doing something that the enemy is doing he can't delay that action. Do you think It would be better to say he can delay actions/effects instead of adding stipulations to them. I was trying to find a power that could stop reality warping and conceptual effects as well as a good physical shield.
>>
>>44660029
Changed? Pretty much all of it. It's OP as all hell. You can basically win almost any fight automatically by only using stuff that you have but not your opponent, which as a Jumper, you are almost guaranteed to have. The extent of what it affects is also pretty ridiculous.

If you were intending to make something that's above GER in power, you succeeded, but it's sure as hell not interesting or balanced to lolnope everything.

>>44662631
I wasn't trying to make it all powerful looking back at it i really flubbed it is was just trying to find a good Requiem effect for it and since it's name is《Forever Delayed 》 I was thinking something along those lines how can I fix this?
>>
>>44662716
What's the base effect of the stand?
>>
>>44662725
It could delay an action and effect then have it happen no later than 1 minute later. A punch that hits could have the damage come later. The example for throwing an object was that it had to have been thrown or released the object would then disappear until the effect is put in action.
As an object thrown would just disappear
>>
>>44662779
Seems cool. Maybe have it extend the time it can delay stuff or the amounts of things at once? Perhaps have something weird like making things happen one minute sooner?

You're best pet is waiting for that merchant guy, since he seemed to know a lot last thread
>>
>>44662779
Since stands are crazy it could even interrupt it, so if you delay a punch for a minute then cut off the guys hand he can no longer punch you so it doesn't happen... Wait that's getting right back into too powerful territory isn't it?
>>
>>44662807
I was mainly gonna use it with the spin and ripple. Maybe I could delay an effect as in taking damage and pass it on to another person or object but have a time limit before I can.
>>
>>44662858
Nah, that seems pretty cool as an ability. Still requires you to be skillful/strong enough to take advantage of the opportunity, so if something's far above you it won't help much.
>>

Not sure. I'd go with the guy above you personally. What you're suggesting seems like it'd basically fall down to just reflecting every effect back on your opponent.

If you've already got a dojutsu it goes real easily (at one point Madara literally just pops an eye out of another guy's head and sticks it in his empty socket), if not it's really difficult and you're likely to die. The exception is upgrading the Mangekyo Sharingan to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, which appears to be somehow fusing the two sets of eyes together. It's still apparently surgery-based and not eating it, though.

Aside from the bunches of perks that straight up give you money on a recurring basis?
Well, there's probably a bunch of precognition powers you could use to win the lottery, or super-math perks that might predict winning numbers like Chaos Theory from JP.
In fact, just with a few math perks you could walk into any casino and walk out with bags of money (then come back later with a disguise, after they kick you out).
Bank heists and hacking ATMs are easy.
Selling superior tech to out-compete markets likewise.
Replication tech or pure fucking magic can just reproduce as many $100 notes as you like, may not even need raw materials.
Grow trees with gold, silver and iron bark and leaves.
Set up a Mystcraft dimension and drop off some advanced mining robots, pop back a week later to pick up the resources and the robots before the dimension fades into nothingness.
Or just punch muggers and watch as your luck and item drop perks result in your average mook having hundreds of dollars worth of loot on them.
Hold the world hostage for ONE BILLION DOLLARS *places pinky finger at the corner of mouth*

Usually jumpers don't have to worry about paying for accommodation and I think most people pick up a few infinite food perks as they go, so if they do choose to work a 'real' job, your living expenses are waaaaaay down. I know I'd be a hell of a lot richer if I could live in a rent-free cosmic warehouse with free power, heating and water, and didn't have to pay for food. That is, if your jumper even needs to eat.

Took Money Maker from Dodgeball so usually have some sort of legitimate self sustaining franchise. Also took Entrepreneurial in Courage the Cowardly Dog which lets you start legitimate looking businesses at the drop of a hat and a bunch of perks that make you really good at making businesses successful.

I then generally put one of my companions in charge of the business after that. Maybe sell some of the less dangerous technology from other settings or some inventions on the side.

The Dodgeball Money Maker thing is fun as it's largely up to you what sort of business it is.

Of course for a while I was just stealing shit but that eventually became sidelined as the solution to stuff that couldn't be bought.

I need some advice. How should I go about shrinking down and storing a Death Star in my Warehouse?

The simplest method may be simply taking the blueprints.

Build it via ACU inside one of several big-enough warehouse addons, add engines, then import it as a shipgirl or whatever so it has a compact form.

>>
>>44665564
From Kantai Collection. They're the ghosts of sunken ships taken human form, or something like that. The jump lets you import one to directly turn them into a ship-spirit. They've got all the power of their original ship in a human sized package. Well, probably human sized. A shipgirl's bust size is determined by the size of the original ship, so larger ships tend to be taller as well to keep things in reasonable proportions. A shipgirl whose original was capable of being mistaken for a moon would probably be a giant. That, or have the worst back problems ever.

Are there any perks that remove your need to accelerate? I'm looking for a way to go from zero to full speed in as short a period as possible. Bonus points for being able to change direction with no to minimal loss in speed.

>>
>>44665616
Depends when you do it. The jump starts five years before Fritz falls into the Underground, so Asriel still has the SAVE slot. If he dies then he just goes back in time to before he died. If you wait until after Fritz usurps the SAVE slot then he'd probably just die. Undertale monsters are completely annihilated upon death, even with Revive's ability to ignore normal metaphysics I don't think there would be anything left to bring back. That's why people want to give him a SOUL first, he'd need that to hold together past death.

Armored Command Unit, from Supreme Commander. Giant robots with enough nanoassemblers onboard to construct armies in minutes. Supreme Commander has no abstraction when it comes to build times, the amount of time it takes you to do it in game is how much it takes in the actual setting. If you take something already very large and import it as an ACU, as many people do with the Light of Terra, the ACU's ability to produce large things becomes even more potent. If you had the schematics and enough mass and energy (oh, yeah, forgot, ACUs are capable of matter transmutation, no need for specific elements) you could probably build the Death Star in under an hour. For best results take Experimental ACU on the Light of Terra to make it three times as large, then import it to Five Star Stories to make it 2.25 times as large. End result is a ship large enough to actually carry the Death Star in its hangars, you could field fleets of them given time.

Depends on what you mean. If you're just using it to implant the eyes it should be fine. If you're trying to absorb the genetics so that they're a full part of you, that's going to fail. Check the notes in the bloodline section, the jump forbids things like that. I guess it's to keep people from going cannibal on the setting.
>>
>>44665821

It assimilates Redlight Infected and gains some of their abilities, or abilities vaguely based on theirs. Sometimes.

It consumes noninfected and slowly gains some of their skills and memories. Sometimes.

Not once does it ever display the ability to fuse to other biomatter, and it isn't on the level of actual conscious use and direction.

You'd be better going to GUNNM and using their biomimetic nanomachines.

>>
>>44665871
>Unfortunately your body can only handle the Bloodline-Limits that you buy here,
after entering the world your body will not be able to handle gaining the necessary genetic tampering to

The game. Revive only works on wizards, it can't revive anything else. You try casting it on random NPCs and it does nothing. And I know you're going to say "well, they probably just didn't code for that", but Magicka has all sorts of weird spell interactions that they did code for, so if they left that out it's probably intentional. It doesn't matter whether you believe me, though. The jump document says that you don't get the full-powered Revive until your chain ends.
>>
>>44666573
Incorrect. Revive doesn't work on YOU until the jump ends.

Nope. Those things don't give a fuck.

As for the strongest, most horrifying monster I've faced... That'd be the Deer Lord from Nichijou.
It was supposed to be a fun drawback. It was just a slice of life setting. Just to spice it up.

It scaled to my power. I'd been going for 200 jumps... Including such things as GUNNM for Imaginos, Fate/ for Servant Stats, Pacific Rim and Godzilla to get a Kaiju Form that scales my stats up, Evangelion to add Angel on top of that, DC where I spliced Kryptonian genes into myself, One Piece for a Rumble-Rumble Logia to be invulnerable against *a lot*, learned more martial arts than you could shape a stick at, stacked durability, regen, speed, reflexes, strength, and magic up to the wazoo, and hell, I'd implanted cybernetic FTL-engines into myself to fight at that speed.
And I'd gone to Asura's Wrath. Gathered enough Mantra to fight at Mantra 8 for a while.

It wasn't enough. It was never enough. Atleast I could regenerate my torso after it headbutted me...

Swords and Sorcery, probably.

S&S because I honestly really loved that place. There was always more to explore, always more grandiose plotlines and developments, heroes and villains and rogues and warriors and wizards that rose and fell organically. It's such a great feeling to declare, in all seriousness, right in front of the evil necromancer that his "vile schemes will never bear fruit", have him respond with a cackle and a villain speech, and upon vanquishing him - not killing, but /vanquishing/ - returning to the celebration of the honest townsfolk.

There were such heights to be reached, and even the lows felt significant. I got my first companion there, my first ancestral sword. I saw the rise and fall of kingdoms, robbed magical treasuries, defended ramparts from orcish hordes, hunted great beasts, cracked open long-lost tombs. Honestly when the chain ends I'll probably put my house in order on earth and head right back to Swords & Sorcery for a long vacation.

Oh speaking of Stands, I've found myself with one and well, I'd like to hear your opinions on it:

>Stand:
"Living Expenses"

>Basic Form:
A pair of transluscent green-eyed white snakes that stretch out of both the User's hands and from there, either or both snakes can possess an object they're holding. Removing the possessed object from the User's range will cause the Stand to violently rebound back into the User and thus harm them greatly.
>Basic Ability:
Possessive Skill - The User gets an understanding of how to use the object that Living Expenses possesses, the longer Living Expenses possesses it, the more complete and solid the knowledge is. The object in this manner can harm other Stands and spiritual beings. The Stand can also manipulate a possessed object with the relevant skill.

>Awakened Change:
The User's eyes gain a green tinge and during moments of high emotions, their pupils contract into slits.
>Awakened Ability:
Skill Rent - By possessing another person, Living Expenses can teach someone else a skill from he knows, the longer the possession, the more complete the skill the other gets. In this manner, Living Expenses can actually regenerate damage done to it and its User by consuming negligible amounts of the target's energy, but in return, it needs to pass a skill that the User knows to its 'landlord' if you will. This can be reversed, by giving up some of their energy to the target Living Expenses is possessing to heal them, the User can learn a skill that the possessed knows, this process can be interrupted if the possessed leaves the Stand's Range.

>Requiem Form:
The Stand becomes a multitude of white snakes with red markings all over their body, their number is seemingly endless and they merge together to create their User's Skill Clones. However, they can only go as far as 20 metres from the User.
>Requiem Ability:
Skill Rebellion - Creates a manifestation for one of the User's Skills, this manifestation is a clone and possesses their mundane physical fitness and absolute mastery over the Skill it possesses, it comes into existance knowing its task and cannot be reasoned with otherwise. Living Expenses can create just one of these to begin with, but with more training, more clones can be created, only one skill can spawn a clone. These clones can only exist for 30 minutes regardless of the number created.

Just getting into Jumpchain. When it comes to companions, can I not bring along characters from a universe unless the jump specifically states that they can be companions?

Not without either an option to purchase them as a companion or using a stasis pod from the warehouse supplement.

>>
>>44668832
In most cases, yes. There is a way around this - Stasis Pods. However, you have to buy those for your Warehouse and they're 20 of your 150 Warehouse points a pop.

There's also the Blue Feather, but that's honestly often considered a bit scummy.

Both methods requires the person you're asking to agree to go with you voluntarily (as in, no threatening them with violence, and no mind control).
>>
>>44668832
Normally, but there are certain things that can make people companions, even if their Jump says they can't be taken. These include things like Stasis Pods from the Warehouse supplement, and an item from Harvest Moon where you marry someone and take them with you as a Companion. Try to find something you like. There's bound to be more than what I mentioned.
>>
>>44668832

Azurite and Turquoise. Their combined form is Chrysocolla.

All three of them are created by oxidizing copper, which is used for wiring and technology, and is said to act as a base or grounding and empowering element in gem spiritualism.
Azurite is used for mental acuity, Turqoise for healing and protection. Chrysocolla is a stone for harmony and communication.

Chrysocolla was damaged in the war, and her gem split down the middle. The two halves then became separate gems, which was completely unprecedented, and attributes to my special ability, which did fuck all during the actual jump, but enables me to split again after the jump was over.

I spent way, way too much time on this shit.

>>44668727
>>44668780
Azurite just built forcefield jewelry for them to clip onto the gems. I mean, I guess you still could have damaged them by slamming through the back of the light construct and destroy them from the other side, but nobody ever thought to do that.
Hell, nobody ever really thought to just attack the gems directly. Haven't the faintest clue why.
And now it's just an altform.
So. Yeah.

Seems interesting, Awakening could probably use a bit of tweaking to prevent silliness with using the energy for skill exchange to fill your opponent's head with useless skills and gain all their useful ones by constantly flipping between the input/output modes leaving you at the same general amount of energy you started with. Requiem could do with a specification on what happens if someone kills or injures the clones (does Stand sympathy apply? Do you lose the skill permanently if you die?). Other than that a good and unusual Stand.

Here are some engadgements that required an equal or far larger number of ships: the Annihilation Wave, the Cancerverse Invasion, the Reapers, the Cylon invasion, the Seraphim invasion, the Yuushan Vong invasion, and the Borg eradication campaign.

My ACU Light of Terra can pump out a interdiction frigate in 30 seconds, a heavy cruiser in about a minute, a fully-equipped battleship every five minutes, and a dreadnought every half hour. For the capabilities each has? That's a blistering production rate. In a single 24 hour period I can produce:

>6 Dreadnaughts
>28 Battleships
>140 Heavy Cruisers
>280 Interdiction Frigates

That's just from the LoT, when you factor in my separate factories and mobile engineering ships, the numbers can spiral up quickly.

I don't. When I build a proper battle fleet I leave them in that jump under the care of my designated successor. If I've planted a Tower, then the Administrator Reyvateil is the one in charge of the fleets left behind.

I do keep a handful of battleships and engineering ships with me though. For those, I have them built from the ground up with RWBY collapsing tech, which can reduce their size considerably, but does nothing for their weight. Once they are fully collapsed, then I hit them with a shrinking ray/shrinking spell powered by a Orgel of Origins. That same Orgel of Origins also powers a tractor beam and gravity sled, so once shrunk the ship can be maneuvered into the sled. Once docked, the sled's combination of repulsors and antigravity arrays suspend the collapsed ship for easy transportation.

I only keep a small honor guard of ships in this way, but it is more than possible to keep a whole fleet stored in the LoT or my Tower annex in the warehouse using this method.

Time is the only real limitation as each Orgel of Origins takes several months to manufacture and test.

Also, deploying and storing ships stored in this way takes time, so it it isn't a combat-capable method of transporting a fleet.

I mean, it's going to be an instant buy. But it's hardly the only jump like that. For instance, does anyone go to Girl Genius and not be a Spark. Or Teen Titans and not a Tamaranean/Half-Demon?

It'll just have to be expensive with no discounts or something.
>>
>>44669512
>Teen Titans and not be a Tamaranean / Half Demon

I've seen multiple builds that didn't go for either of those, but that's honestly beyond the point. We're talking a magic system that can literally do anything if one takes into account the opposite reaction and the Sorcerer/Sorceress' ability at manipulating it, and the only taxing bit is fucking /willpower/.
>>
>>44664270
I sell stuff. Gold, gems, advanced technology, whatever will make me the most profit in the world I'm currently in.

Pawning off gold is the easiest though, especially after I've been to a fantasy jump like Dragon's Crown or Endless Legend.

I also gained a lot of knowledge in hologram and computer technology early on thanks to Yu-Gi-Oh, so sometimes I'll make and sell hologram projectors and VR games to have a steady source of income.
>>
>>44669358
It's just very versatile. You focus your will, say a word, and stuff happens. Or, at least, that's the gist of it.
In reality, all uses are incredibly draining, you have to account for physics when doing stuff, and even minor uses make a lot of "noise" that can alert anyone who can sense supernatural stuff that you're doing something. Also, erasing things will fuck you over. Hard.
>>
>>44669564
So you're whining. Good show.
>>
>>44669564

Alright, let me ask you this. Suppose the anon who has expressed an interest in making it does make a WIP, and the "whiny" anon brings up the issues of the Will and the Word. Are you going to continue calling him a shit, or will he finally have a point?

>>
>>44669715
If anon sees a real balance issue they can discuss it. They can't complain and flip tits if people don't agree with their view like they usually do, but they can express their view.

But premature complaining like this before they even see a WIP? That's just as bad as those people who bitch about updates before they even know what's going to be in them.

The metaphysics are complicated, but basically, the universe originally had one Purpose, that was split into two Purposes. Each one has a plot the want the universe to follow and specific destiny for everyone. When these conflict, they cause an Event with each side having chosen agents to interact with the Event.
Ultimately the fate is of reality is decided by the protagonist and Sauron-lite. If a conclusion isn't reached, everything goes to shit and the universe dies.
>>
>>44669752
Man literally everything happens for a reason in those books.
>>
>>44669752
Okay, so the plot of the Belgariad and the Mallorean is like this:

In the beginning, the Universe had a Purpose (capitalized intentionally because it's sapient). Then something happened that wasn't supposed to happen, fracturing the Purpose into two opposite Purposes, and the universe started being consumed by a massive, massive, fuckhuge almighty fiery explosion.

These two Purposes don't want that to happen, but at the same time there's only one way to fix it - there needs to be one Purpose again, and that growing hole in space-time-universe needs to be patched up, which requires one of these two Purposes to go. Thing is, they can't duel it out because of their sheer power - if they do, literally everything ends.

So instead they decided to play a game, using the little planet on which the Belgariad and the Mallorean take place. It's like a game of chess if said chess pieces represented kingdoms, nations, key individuals, and Gods (yes, Gods are involved), all to create the exact circumstances in which the Ultimate Child of Light and the Ultimate Child of Dark are to meet, and the Blind Seeress of Kell is to choose between them.

But in the years between now and when those two meet, everything has an exact date that has to be kept, called an Event, and let me tell you these are very specific. They can't be a day before or a day behind, it has to happen that exact moment.

So with all that in mind, in comes a Jumper.

And you can imagine how quickly everything goes to shit in a handbasket.
>>
>>44669833
It's definitely not a gem whatever >>44668983 thinks. A glob of it used during Harry and Ortega's duel looks like a writhing glob of mist more than anything.

>>
>>44669867
>>44669905
>>44669910

On top of what these three said, the two forces at play have to be kept equally matched - which means both information, power-ups, and the like.

You can't spoil the plot to the one side, because then that means the Child of X can spoil their half of the plot to the other side. You can't make Garion into an Asgardian God of Manliness, because then that means the Child of Dark can turn their representative into something just as powerful.
>>
>>44669955
Added on top of this, literally every Sorcerer and Sorceress in the plot is... Well. Crucial and part of the plot. Entangled even.

>>44669955
Some settings just aren't meant to become jumps unless you're willing to take them by the foundation and destroy the premise. In the past gauntlets helped alleviate this to some extent when used properly, but then people started hating on gauntlets with things like "Well it's bullshit to limit my powers" or "Arbitrary caps that don't make sense."

So now as jumpmakers you're left with a decision. Do you disrespect canon entirely and say that the jumper has ultimate authority over the setting, or do you try to enforce canon restrictions that ultimately some jumpers will take as a challenge to "break"? Neither of these ever really end well.

Some places are nice to look at, terrible to make into a jump.
