The YG-4210 is a pretty decent ship for smuggling. Good old CEC quality means a lot of mod space and since it was designed as a deep space exploration vessel it swallows quite a lot of cargo for a ship that size. That's what's weird though: in training he's constantly struggling and needing to get better, but in battle he's so effortlessly perfect. He deflects bolts perfectly in the first damn season. He can super jump in like the 4th episode.That weird disconnect really bothers me, and makes me feel like that taking out ship isn't a culmination of his training but just another steamroll through a not-obstacle. Honestly hypercompetence of the good guys versus bumbling fool enemies is an issue with the show in general, but I think Ezra is the worst culprit.

the framing of any one training bit implies that he's been at it for weeks and many of the things he achieves are after the training for that particular thing has come up. There is a big implication that by the temple episode, he's pretty much on the same level as kanan, minus the years of experience. It's also been established that he learns faster by doing than during his lesson.

And yes, the empire is kinda terrible at doing their job, and that is what makes the series feel very kiddy despite the large body counts.

Going in I was hoping for more EOTE Force Exile style Jedi where Kanan has to use stealth since ring a Jedi is dangerous and Ezra and him take a long time to reach TCW-level force shenanigans. So I guess some of the hate is probably wanting more nuance than a kids show can deliver. I still feel like in general stuff in other media shouldn't outclass stuff that happens in the movies, especially since at some point they'll have to rectify why the Rebels supersquad has no involvement with the Galaxy-changing events of the OT.

As for why Scum get three ships in their box.....well, it's the box that introduces the faction, and contains cards and dials for the HWK-290 and Firespray for Scum usage as well. I imagine that FFG wanted people to be able to build a fully functional 100pt list based solely on the contents.

Rogue One has to take place basically in the month before ANH does.

So it's incredibly unlikely they'll overlap the two.

Hey, I wanna/am trying to design a custom X-wing minis cinematic mission based around the Jakku chase with the Falcon and Ties.

Looking for input but what I'm thinking of so far is this:

For this game I was planning on running Outer Rim Smuggler with the Falcon title to represent Rey at the beginning.

The BB-8 astromech card will be treated as a crew upgrade for the purposes of this mission while Gunner will stand in for Finn.

The first order player with be using two Tie/fo's since I think they were only being chased by two but I may need at least three for balancing purposes. Does anyone know what pilot cards should be used?

Also, need good ideas on obstacles to represent flying through the Star Destroyer wrecks.

Does the Ghost for XWM bother anyone else?

It's got 4 attack dice AND a rear fire arc that can fire torpedoes AND a turret upgrade slot, and a fairly decent dial. Plus, it has 15 health. It just seems ridiculously strong.

Thing is, it's behind no agility whatsoever, which means you can't use 3PO for mitigation.

It actually doesn't take that long to focus down, and it'll die to 4x AccCorr Cluster Tempests just like the Decimator will - in 1 turn

You only get a limited number of force points per level, and if the gm throws enough encounters at the players, the players will want to spend them.

The way I handle Force Points buyout is make it correlate with a in-game sense of time-it is supposed to represent a period of meditation and reflection. If you give players downtime, the players not buying off dark side points get the chance to shop, upgrade gear, make connections, etc.

Also I don't allow all the leftover force points to be spent when a character is about to level up. Only one force point at a time.

Is triple T-70 a viable build for XWM? The symmetry of a squadron leader and two wingmen in identical ships makes me horny. Also if that squadron leader is Poe in his custom-painted ship.

It's dial is interesting. Extremely mobile but at a cost of very stressful. The thing about the ghost is it comes at a huge cost. I think it's a fair counterpart to the Decimator. Instead of a turret attack it gets a turret that it has to pay for. Instead of a normal rear firing arc, it can only fire out it with torpedoes it has to pay for or do normal attacks at the cost for forcing you to take a mediocre second ship increasing your cost by at least 18 points. To make up for what the decimator has over it, you have to pay a high point price.

That's kind of vicious. Not sure about Rexler though, The Defender is still a massive points sink even with the titles, and this is coming from someone who always thought the Defender wasn't as bad as people thought, just compared poorly to the Phantom released at the same time.

The Force isn't a plot-based power, it's literally narrative power. It guides you towards story points, extends the reach of your characters to allow them to continue to the next scenes, and allows them to choose the outcomes of their stories, though some ends are more tempting than others.

Jedi focus on becoming a part of the narrative with roles to play, but strangely don't become slaves to it and instead learn to shape it instead, even overcoming death to continue their influence on the plot.

Sith use the power to try and shape the narrative, but become slaves to it, their downfall and tragedy scripted into their defiance, sheer power over the world around them actually limiting their influence over their own plots.

The more power you try to exert over the universe, the more a slave to it you become, whereas letting go actually gives you that much more power over the story, even if you can't go around pulling starships out of the sky and shooting lightning like it's going out of fashion.

The issue is that it removes agency from basically all characters, because they are successful because they're on the right side of the Force, not by their own bravery, strength, or wits. It also reduces all villains into pathetic manchildren, which Anakin certainly was in Episode 2 and 3, but Darth Vader and the Emperor were genuinely evil motherfuckers, and it reduces them as villains if there's no actual power to them, if they're just pawns of the Force.
