Well, we invited the girl we were supposed to track to take part in our job, which is not within our authority.

In our favour speaks the fact that she has important and relevant intel of her own that would explain a lot of what's happening among vampires these days.

Another problem is that we gave her our blood. Leaving aside having been pansy about her drinking directly from tap, we've basically compromised ourselves in our mission on keeping track of her, with her bonuses she now has against us.
We'll need father's good graces and word to not get ourselves reassigned somewhere far away from Sibella.

Ignacio Costillo was born in Mexico City in 1939 (he's old. Hes able to still bop around due to the residual effect of being bonded with an angel's halo for decades). He became active in the Secret College of the Catholic Church in the 1960's during the "ghost explosion", taken in when he finally finished seminary studies and chosen due to his teenage career as a traveling luchador with the handle of "El Cazador" (appropriate, isn't it?).

He choose the more traditional focus of vampires as opposed to the exploding field of ghosts, which reflects his personal traditionalism. He's very pragmatic, and sees traditionalism as an extension of this pragmatism. If it works well enough, don't try to change it. You might break it.

He's an anti-Metatronist. He believes angels are infallible in what they say and do, and any seeming error on their end is the result of fallible human interpretation.

He preferred to stay close to his roots in Mexico during his hunting days, but was obligated to spend a few years in Spain hunting ancient Muslim astronomer vampires and Africa hunting vampiric were-hyenas.

Personality wise he's rather a cold fish. He likes discipline and rigor. It was an uphill battle to convince him to let you have your video games. You had to convince him that they were training for your senses, and even they you had to steal your gameboy color off him if you wanted to play it.

He has a weakness for fine wines and food however. One develops such things when they have had to survive alone on the African Savannah with only a halo as nourishment.

She's still active in the Church. But after her kill count started to break the average the Church began to watch her closer. She's under watch by Michael now, and hates it. She considers it a great shame, and it is. If she cant' convince Michael she isn't a murderous vampire bigot she loses Ambriel.

This reminds me of that scene in PKD's Eye in the Sky where the characters are trapped in a the mind-universe of a fundamentalist and are in bar with a snack machine that creates drinks and chips form prayers. The people in the bar who are apart of the world can't see the implications behind it, but one of the characters is ecstatic over potentially gaming the rules of the universe to create perpetual energy.

Unfortunately, Abby is limited. She channels the power of heaven (and event that might be finite), but it flows through her. She can only use so much power at a time before it wears her out. Think of her as a divine step-down transformer. If she exerts herself too much (such as when she hurts herself to strengthen the halo) she has to "return to heaven".

Which means she dies. And just as its often traumatic for a ghost to dissipate and then reform so to will it be traumatic for Abby to dissipate and reform.

Your training is very comprehensive. What you learned is generally useful against anything. What works against things that can survive everything but a shot to the heart works against most other things.

In terms of specific training Anon was purely vampire focused. Costilla believes that the vampire is the most dangerous of opponents. If you can defeat the vampire, you can defeat anything on Earth. Therefore, train to defeat the vampire.

Ideally you fight vampires and only vampires. But when investigating mysterious happenings who knows what you'll run into. Just because it turns out you were hunting a maniac werewolf and not a maniac vampire doesn't mean you just stop.

Exorcists take care of ghosts. You take care of vampires. The only other big "supernatural" thing to worry about would be werewolves, and you usually don't have much trouble form them. They're very social creatures, and they do a good job at policing their own.

Other supernatural occurrences have traditionally been dealt with by institutions outside the Church. Aliens from the Quasar-Tesseract (from Herculoids) including the fish-people race living in Coolsville harbor are investigated by a joint Questlabs-Frankenteen Industries venture.
