>What are you guys and what do you do in this thread?
We're a group of anons posting on 4chan as if Pokemon are real. Chat with fellow anons, report your adventures, develop characters, and have fun.

>Do I have to be a namefag?
Of course not. Posting anonymously is totally acceptable. Trips and names are only optional for character identification. It helps us know who you are if you use a name, but don't feel pressed to do so.

>What can I NOT do?
Please keep lewd to a minimum.
No godmodding - This means that you cannot own six Arceus or something equally silly. You CAN own a legendary or two, but keep it realistic, please.

More information to come.

Have fun.

Alright... Let's see what the mods here think of me...

Anyone need a Gardevoirite? Someone thought it would be really funny to give it to me for Christmas knowing how I feel about Fairy Types.
>>
>>44446768
Yeah, I doubt that's something you want to give away, specially here of all places.

You should sell it, they can get pretty expensive.
>>
I live next to a huge dump.
Anyone have any advice for keeping trubbish out of my shed? My mother's Delcatty is not up to the job.
>>
>>44446550

Seems like a good place to ask.

So I have this idea for an ET Grunt named Brandon, his team is the venomoth pictured, I think a drowsee and probably some rodent like a Rattata or a Zubat, but I was wondering what kind of character to make him into.

>>44446607

Have you tried a psychic type? I've heard they are good at protecting houses.
>>
>>44446999

Mincinno. They are the antithesis of Trubbish.
>>
>>44447256
There aren't that many psychic type pokémon that live near by. Maybe because there so many poison types? I know they're strong against them but there are a lot of poison types living in the dump.
We even have a several Muk.
>>
>>44447432
Try some Ground or Steel types, Poison types tend to stay away from them.
>>
>>44446622

>>
>>44447636
Nope. It is a board for discussion of traditional games, not for the playing of them. There are plenty of forums that are pokemon related, go play your freeform there or go to your appropriate boards of /vp/ or /trash/ or /b/.

>quest threads
>cyoa threads
>"your freeform doesn't go here!"
this is essentially a cyoa centered in a single universe with a base set of rules and a bunch of anons creating characters and stories within it, discussing them and how well they would fit in this thread. if that isn't /tg/ then I don't know what is.
>>
>>44447710
>has a literal command to roll die

How do you deal with a lazy Jolteon? It used to be pretty playful, but lately it just lays down to sleep.
>>
>>44447854
Sounds bad. Is it lethargic and lazy, or are there other symptoms?

How sudden is the laziness? Could also just be because it's cold.
A nice fleece blanket would warm it up and also produce a lot of static to charge up its fur and give it more energy
>>
>>44447854
You better believe we do. Welcome to /tg/, you don't even need the other boards anymore.

Anyway, I've just arrived in Virbank. Sandra can probably handle Roxie, but is there anything else I should be aware of?
>>
>>44447823
I think the best comparison would be to the wizard council threads you see every so often.
You make a character and play them interacting with the other characters in the thread.
>>
>>44447946
One day it suddenly just went to sleep after playing, about 3 days ago.

It eats and everything, but it won't move at all.
>>
>>44447970
Those threads are also semi-regularly deleted.
>>
Unovafag here. My dad is going on a business trip to Hoenn and offered me to come with and do some sightseeing.
Any locals here with some tips? I'm probably gonna do the tourist stuff (like Slateport market/beach, Mossdeep Space Center, Lavaridge hot springs, etc.) regardless, so I'd love to know some of the cooler spots not everyone might know about. Good places to eat, nice hiking trails, etc.

I'm confused, what does /vp/ even do all day if not this? There's not that much to talk about just the games and cartoon is there?
Finding out you can't roleplay Pokémon on the Pokémon board is blowing my mind a little. What's that board even for in that case? Sharing friend codes and nothing else?
>>
>>44448102
we're just as confused as you anon. we agree that this would be best suited in the pokemon board, but the pokemon board feels it is not. our next best bet would be the traditional gaming board, since this is pretty much a traditional form of the video games/anime
>>
>>44447854
>How do you deal with a lazy Jolteon? It used to be pretty playful, but lately it just lays down to sleep.

Jolteons use the Triboelectric effect to charge their fur with positive charges, they rely on this electrical energy to produce certain hormones. If your jolteon spends a lot of time indoor you should make sure you have a surface that it can use to charge its fur like vinyl, silicone rubber or ebonite.
>>
>>44448102
Take a look if you dare, my friend. Just don't stay long, or you'll question your sanity.

>>44448044
I'll try that, let me see if it works.
>>
>>44447295
Aren't they also really high maintenance?
>>
>>44448102
They usually just bitch about the mechanics of the games and the janitors hardly ever get rid of the lolicon threads flooding it.
>>
>>44448102
Lots of genwars, waifu threads, etc. It's the same things being discussed everyday. Lack of a new game announcement has made it very dull.

>>
>>44448569
I know why it's there, what's unsettling is that it hasn't eaten anything yet. We have a lot of animals here so we do budget for wild dragon types picking off the occasional Ponyta or even Tauros.

Normally the wild Charizard stay further out towards the mountains but we've had a really long heatwave (southern hemisphere) and I think they're starting to get more bold. Thinking about calling animal control.
>>
>>44448013

In New Zealand. My area is in a basin surrounded by mountains, so you can probably imagine the types we have to deal with.

We had an Onix damage a lot of the rural powerlines a few weeks back, too.

I have plenty of water types on hand for irrigation but I'd really rather not just blast this thing out of the sky. They are a protected species after all.
>>
>>44448710
It occured to me I may have misunderstood. I thought you were going for augmented reality type "pokemon exist in rea life as we know it", but might be doing "we live in pokeland"
>>
>>44448809
Protected species, When did that happen? I thought there'd be more of them due to charmander eggs being made all the time by unethical breeders.

I also misunderstood, in that case. Disregard my dumbness.

If so please get in contact with Evan sometime before Friday and attempt to get a golett egg.

I've been thinking of moving back to Albion, I'm feeling s bit homesick and it'd be nice to be among family.
Thing is, I've been living here for a while, and I have caught and raised a couple pokémon. Most notably is my Flygon, best gal. But while I'm living nearby to her natural habitat she's fine, but Albion is cold and wet, both subjectively and objectively.
What should I do to help accommodate a desert sandragon to damp fields of green?

Turn the garage Into a miniature desert. It might get expensive with the insulation and heat lamps but it's the best way to slowly introduce your dragon to a foreign environment. Change the heat by a degree or two a day and the humidity until she's adjusted. If you dot have money just buy a simple large heat lamp she can use to sleep under.

>>44449464
My ex had a Sandile and to keep that thing happy she had a home-made sunrock for it to lay on, maybe you can make something to scale of Flygon? The only issue is space, you're gonna have to find someplace to put a large rock, but you could just keep a heating pad on and under it (or if your Flygon knows any fire moves, that could heat it) and it would give it sustainable heat and comfort-- just like home.
Maybe some pictures of a desert as a finishing touch!

A garage with heat stones/lamps with sand and a good theme should keep everything good. I'll bring it up tomorrow and see how she reacts. My other pokémon should transition easily, it's just the Flygon that I'm worried about.
One thing I'm also planning to do in this case is get a couple dehumidifiers. Dry heat is best for flygon.

>>44449653
Kind of depends really. There's a couple ancient families that claim you have to be in their ranks, but most people just call anyone with dragons a dragon master.
I take it all with a pinch of salt, I've seen accredited dragon masters basically only there due to nepotism and actually talented trainers left out in the cold.

A Spiritomb for Christmas? Your friend sounds cruel. Spiritomb is a vicious Ghost type. I wouldn't even get near one.

They don't need to eat - Ghost types gain sufficient energy from other things, but traditional food is still fine.

>Does it sleep?
Absolutely not. Neither will it let you sleep. There is a reason for why few people own Spiritomb.

Ah, well. It's yours now. You're stuck with it. I'd wish you good luck, but you'd need more than that at this point.

Machinery Pokémon, rather than animal ones. They're better at creating a stable source.

Honestly though it's not really worth it. Solar panels and wind turbines are better. Heard one guy had a ninetails with drought and a ton of solar panels and had power to spare. Problem is you need a lot of startup capital for that.

Yea, she's definitely a speedster, even when I ride her. Pro tip: stay low. High speed + high fall = broken bones.

>>44449886
Yes, actually. Fun story, I am queen of the zubats apparently. After I got mine, I wasn't so much bothered by them in the mountain itself as followed by. Most of my excursions ended at night, so they would follow me home to my parent's ranch and just sort of hang out. Well, the full moon had arrived and those pink assholes were out in full force. Me and Charla, was Charles until I found out she was not a dudebat, had planned to chase them off. Well, we were out gunned by about 12 of them. You don't know true fear until you're surrounded by 12 derpy faces of pink rage. All of the sudden, Charla makes this noise and starts flapping like crazy, and out of nowhere, this cloud of zubats descends on us. They go start going at the clefairy, meanwhile I'm standing there with this vortex of zubats around me. The clefairy ran off, and the zubats just sort hung out in the fields all night. Never had to worry about the clefairy after that.

I had to explain to my mother that we now had a barn full of Zubats, but it all worked out in the end. I mean, yea, I had to take care of about 30 other wild zubats for like a year before I left, but my parents liked them because A) they kept the clefairy away and B) they liked to eat the bugs that were attracted to my dad's potatoes. Win/Win.

I'm like a zubat specialist now. The little Shitters grow on you, but fuck if they aren't completely useless in a real fight until they evolve.

>>

That's odd. Spiritomb tend to be incredibly aggressive. It looks like you got lucky - You won't be dying today.

There might be a few books out there to teach you about Ghosts, but I believe that the best way to learn about them is by becoming a ghost yourself~
>>
>>44450373
Uh, don't Axew lose their tusks' regenerative capabilities after evolving? Dude you should probably find a Pokemon Center or something.
>>
>>44450373
There isn't a whole lot you CAN do. Faxure tusks don't heal back if chipped. Give it a whetstone and let it sharpen it's blades again, and some time out of serious fights to adapt to the potentially weakened blade. They're tough little 'mons and as a species know how to compensate.
Time, TLC, personal sharpening time and practice bouts. Which is sort of what Fraxure need in general anyway.

>>44450361
That's damned impressive. Man, I wish I'd got zubats to like me as much. They can be a real pain for cave travellers.

>>44450131
Brobats indeed. Trust me, though, my friends were not happy about it. It got a lot better when I found my Eevee, even better still when she finally evolved. I think she was jealous of Eevee, to be honest.

How the hell do I keep my friend's Alakazam from cheating when we play tabletop and board games? Genius or not, I strongly suspect he is using his psychic powers to cheat the dice rather than any of this "I know how to roll really well stuff. I have a gardevoir if it helps.
>>
>>44450545
I'm honestly not sure. I know fraxure from some time with dragons, but..
Well they ARE swords, honedge. Sword care does seem appropriate. I'd start with cleaning, oiling and polishing to begin with.
Honing edges involves removing metal which might not be good for a pokémon which is itself living metal. Plus pokémon are a little odd at times, might be self sharpening.

>>44450593
How.. How do you even herd flying Pokémon without flying yourself? You should upload a recoding some time.

>>
>>44450657
There are certain materials psychic types can't move, like Stainless Steel or other synthetic materials. I'm pretty sure you can find some dice made from those, considering the demand for it.

>>
>>44450932
I've brushed my grandmother's Growlithe with a long wire brush before but that's all I know about grooming mons with thick fur, apart from how he REALLY didn't like getting baths.
>>
>>44450932
Wash it twice a month or so and brush in one directions 50 times, then the other direction 50 times. Mix a raw egg into its food to give it a healthy coat and make sure it gets a lot of exercise
>>
>>44450932
Just brush them regularly. They don't really get dirty, so they won't exactly need like regular baths or anything.

That said, if you *do* give them a bath, I think they generally prefer hot water; mine does, at least.
>>
>>44450361
I am in awe of your skills and also find it amusing we both explored the same place at the same age but I suppose thats not too significant for Pokemon trainers.
>>
>>44450932
Don't shed as much as you might think. They need the fur for insulation.
That's about all I know, I just know someone who owns one, never dealt with one myself.
>>
>>44451008
But growlithe is fire type, wont water hurt it?
>>
>>44451118
Water should only hurt it if it's scalding hot or used in an attack.
>>
>>44451118
If you blast it with a stream of pressurized water from a fire hydrant then YES.
>>
>>44451118
Like >>44451023 said, warm water is best for cleaning them.
>>
>>44451118
Not a bath, no. Unless fire types are damaged by rain or splash 'attacks' and I never noticed.
My Flygon has a taste for popcicles for instance. Worst she's ever gotten from the ice is brain freeze.

>>44451151
Now I'm curious, should fire types get very hot baths or normal?
>>
>>44451172
I assume most fire types would turn a bath scalding hot on its own.
>>
>>44451172
Depends on the fire type. Some fire types are better at resisting heat than others. Consult your local Nurse Joy if you're worried, but your pokemon can make it's preferences clear to you through tone and body language.
>>
>>44451172
Well a charmander obviously shouldn't be taking baths at all.
>>
>>44450679
Scent mostly. They can spray poison from their pores, and frequently hunt them in the wild by luring them in by scent.

>>44450732
Oh wubat. I thought I'd like them, but I don't. They don't have the same appeal. Watching Umbreon hunt, never gets old. If they're hunting wubat, even better.

>>44451024
It's a big place, and tourists love it because of the clefairy because they don't know how shitty they are. Where about where you?
>>
>>44451247
Well clearly. The Charmander line are in the minority though, most pokémon don't have a constant flame that they require to keep functioning.
Numel line shouldn't as well, water in their hollow humps isn't good for them. I guess slugma as well, but if you're trying to bathe a literal lava slug I'm not sure you should be responsible for a pokémon.

>>44451231
Isn't a hard rule then. Makes sense.
>>
>>44451172
Depends on which Fire-type it is. Obviously you wouldn't bathe a Slugma or a Torkoal or something. I don't know about Charmander thoigh given the whole tail thing. With mammalian ones like Vulpix, Growlithe or Fennekin you've just got to keep the water relatively warm like for a human. Like some of the others are saying it'd probably be best if you checked up at a Pokemon Center to see if a Fire-type is safe to bathe.
>>
>>44451520
>>44451372
Charmander and relatives are really clean creatures. They typically dust bath themselves in the wild, but you can take a somewhat moist cloth to them if they really trust them.
>>
>>44451598
Sponge baths are pretty good for Pokémon who aren't good with being submerged as a whole. Electric pokémon for instance can find it uncomfortable.

You can also buy this microdust stuff that absorbs scents and polishes for pokémon to use in dust baths. Used to be dubious until I tried one of the better brands and works very well. Expensive af unless you're planning to enter a contest though. Wouldn't recommend as a regular purchase.

Did you do anything to annoy your Porygon recently?
Also no. Cybercrime divisions have porygons, rotom and the like who should be able to tell who downloaded those files.
That said you might want to save necessary files and destroy that old harddrive. And sit your pokémon down and have a bit talk on what is not okay. And possibly human mating habits, it might not have understood what it was doing.

I know a guy to get a lucario egg from, which is what got me researching them in double battles. Getting a zorua would be tricky but it's got to be doable.
Both need kinda weird diets and care though, so I'm making sure I've got the research down. Lucario need certain mineral supplements for instance, and at different amounts depending on how soon since evolution, different when riolu and also different again when newly hatched.
Well, it's not -super- necessary, but if you want to raise a good battler you should take care over diet.

There was some science lab explosion a few months ago. Apparently they were researching fossil Pokemon. Maybe they Brought some back to life? Or maybe you just saw a very muddy scissor mantis
>>
Oh man, Which which pokemon should I pick for my starter?
>>
>>44454455
What options have you got? You going to a pokémon lab or a family/friend is offering to help you catch one?
>>
>>44451975
And they suck /tg/ is shit at homebrewing
>>
>>44454455
A Ghost type, naturally. Gastly are fairly common at night. Or, you can try your luck with a Phantump.
Or, if that isn't fun enough for you, you could try out something riskier...like a Slugma or a Honedge.
>>
>>44454455
Go for a phsycic type if your lab offers them since they make the best companions. When I went there all I got to choose from was between a meowth, a weedle, and a rattata.
>>
>>44454502
What? haha neither, I'm just going to go out and find one.
>>
>>44454519
Ohhh! A Phantump sounds perfect! Thanks!

>>44454521
Bleh, no thanks. I'd rather not have them reading my mind all the time.
>>
>>44454582
Oh, really? Huh.

They're very cute, actually. And they're not incredibly mischievous like other Ghost types. Hmm, try giving it a Spell Tag sometime. Ghosts love them.
>>
>>44454582
No first stage phsycic type I know can read minds and most don't get that far till their third stage or strong second stage. What you get with the starter phsycic types is a sort of empathy power.
>>
>>44454533
Noping the fuck away. Unless everything near you is perpetually happy and safe you should have protection. All you need is one pissed off graveller rolling around and not looking where it's going and you've broken your legs far away from town.
Avoid dragon or dark for your first I'd say. Grass is usually a safe bet, if lacklustre in higher tier battling.
>>
>>44454646
Battling? Nah fuck that, I just want a friend.

>>44454617
I'll be sure to take one with me, thanks for the advice!

>>44454632
Riiiiiiiight. Still creepy as fuck.
>>
>>44454703
Meh. Empathy is good for getting a friend but if you find that weird it's your taste. My abra just sort of grew on me.
>>
>>44454781
or did it brainwash you?
>>
>>44454646
>All you need is one pissed off graveller rolling around and not looking where it's going and you've broken your legs far away from town.
Ah, just let him be. After all, it's not quite an adventure if you don't break a few bones and possibly die along the way.
>>
>>44454703
Going for ghost then? Fair dos, just be careful. And if you can, borrow a non-normal type pokémon for protection. Or bring a friend. Pokémon are rarely malicious but ghost pranks can get out of hand.
Phantumps are one of the better starter ghosts though. Grass types are generally mellow and phantump is part grass. A little child-like, at times. Which, considering the myth about them, isn't too surprising.

Main advice though.. Keep an open mind. You might find another pokémon that is more receptive to being a companion than the one you set out for.
Seriously though be careful. Have a way of contacting people with full charge before setting out tonight.
>>
>>44446622
Ah, alright then. Though have you guys ever tried the PT* systems? Might be worth it for you, and be a way to actually use some of the characters you make. Hell, maybe you guys can actually make a group.
>>
>>44454824
Sometimes I'm amazed any of us who go on trainer adventurers grow even to twenty.
Never broke a leg though, at least.
>>
>>44454859
Hmm, how long have you been a trainer for? I'm curious. You don't see many who get to call themselves veterans.

Would you kindly all fuck off?

>but it's roleplay

Many forms of roleplay are banned on /tg/, un-structured freeform roleplay at the top of the list.

>but the quest threads

Are examples of structured roleplay and could not be more different from what you are doing here.

>but the dice

You're not even using them.

>but it's traditional games

It is nothing of the kind. It's not a board game, a war game, a card game, it does not follow any discernible rules, it's not even based on a traditional-game related setting, it's based on a fucking video game.

It is in fact definitionally a circlejerk about your favorite video game.

>but we're banned on /vp/

That is nobody's problem but your own. If you feel /vp/ is the right place for it you should make threads on /qa/ or submit feedback, start a conversation with the moderation.

Failing that there are numerous other boards you could take it to such as /b/ or /trash/, if you really think you're "too good" for those boards then you don't really deserve your own thread at all.

To say nothing of the fact that this could easily be relocated to an off-site forum or IRC channel with minimal effort.

tl;dr Fuck off from /tg/

Question: Do we have to be Trainers? The roleplays I like best are ones where I can just be a random person in the world.
>>
>>44455462
not at all!
>>
>>44455462
Of course not - Being a normal person is fine
>>
>>44455462
How common are trainers even? Do they have to register somewhere?
Seems like everybody in town is one. It gets lonely on weekends.
>>
>>44453347
Even that's fucked when there's Pokemon smarter than millions of humans combined into a single gestalt consciousness and pokemon that can zip around at supersonic+ speeds under the direction of said psychic geniuses, and dive bomb the enemy HQ.

Warfare with Pokemon is an even more horrifying version of MAD.
>>
>>44455462
Well it's assumed nearly everyone has gone out and got at least one Pokemon when they reached age ten. I think every citizen needs to have a single Pokemon companion before they're considered to be grown up.
>>
>>44455525
I think the government just tracks anyone who buys pokeballs.
>>
>leave /vp/ because it's filled with trash like this
>the trash is here now
Welp, back to /vp/ for me
>>
>>44455525
Well, for "official" battles yes. Basically just gym and league challenges. It's linked to your pokéballs and the like. If you already use pokéballs you should be on the database already.
You don't need the card to own pokémon or casual battles though. And if you don't like the idea of battling, contests and contest-battles are fun too! But depending on the contest circuit you need to be trainer accredited... It's complicated. But the card is easy to get, and cheap to replace.

>>44455462
When everyone is normal, it's also fun to be a professional trainer!

Have you never heard of apricorns?
>>
>>44455645
It's not ideal. But tracking onix, gyarados, garchomp and the like is a necessity you can't really get around.
It's not like a true botnet, just a licence and an account on the trainer database to track pokémon ownership.
It's like a driving licence and numberplate registration.

Pretty sure that the apricorn devices are just the standard components that go inside pokéballs anyway. They're linked to the database.

Only balls which aren't are those snag ball things. Though they're technically any other ball that's been treated somehow unless I severely misunderstood the explanation.

Not really; if you get them made by someone who knows what they're doing, at least. I mean, sure, you can just pop open an apricorn and install 'standard components', but at that point you just have a regular pokeball.

Anyways, they're only linked if whoever made them actually reports the ball (and the associated serial number) to the League.
>>
>>44456151
Never met anyone who still makes balls in the old way, so I never knew that. Just those daft ones you see in the pokémart which are as you say, just pokéballs. Didn't know the crafted ones were that different.

>>
>>44456379
I do. Or, the first one, anyway.

Most of the old gang is still around, if you're interested. If you are, I believe you know where to find them.
>>
All right, so it's been a solid day and a half since my mons started wigging out and even after our little adventure in the cold and rain last night they still haven't quite settled down. I asked around to some of my friends in the area and they said their Pokemon were fine. I think it might be a ghost Pokemon in the area messing with my guys. My Slowbro is having killer headaches and constantly looks pained, which is weird for him because he's usually really zen and chill. My Sableye keeps waving his arms and knocking at things, and through extension knocking all of my shit off of the shelves but I'm pretty sure it's by accident because he doesn't laugh after they fall.

I'm kinda worried here guys, does anyone have any suggestions? Help?
>>
>>44456456
I can't say anything about like trainer schools or anything; half of my family are professional trainers, so I just learned basically everything from them. It sure was nice to have their input and involvement before I set out, though. I don't think I'd have gotten an Axew any other way.

>>44456502
Well, the way I see it is that it thinks you're invading its territory. Unless you have some insanely powerful 'mons with you, get as far away as quickly as you can.
>>
>>44456518
Uh. It sounds like they might have like pneumonia or something, dude. Have you seen a nurse about it?

mons can occasionally "sense", for lack of a better explanation, weird shit. If you have psychics, dark-types, ghosts, etc. wigging out, odds are that mon-related fuckery is about
>>
>>44456559
1) yes, I have, and they did a check up and nothing was out of the ordinary
2) headaches and hallucinations aren't symptoms of pneumonia, last I checked
>>
>>44456518
>My Slowbro is having killer headaches and constantly looks pained
Mismagius and Misdreavus are especially fun Ghost types - They sing at pitches that disorient and hurt others. Their voices are nice to hear...when they're not giving you piercing headaches, that is.

Do you have any charms with you? If you don't, you might have to go ghost busting.
>>
>>44456545

>>
>>44456518
If in doubt, pokécenter. Possibly ghosts or the like, but I'm doubtful. Sableye are hard to hit psychically, and both him and a psychic type are bugging out? Unlikely to be the normal suspects.
Maybe a drowzee ate their dreams or.. I don't know, Darkrai's poking around nearby.
In any case, get a professional diagnosis.

>>44456609
It wants the bait, they've got a surprisngly good sense of smell. Grab it all up, move it somewhere that should stop it attracting pokémon. Tupperware it if you have to.
>>
>>44456634

You're asking someone (who likely doesn't have any very powerful pokemon) to take on a Tyranitar. I think you're fucking crazy.
>>
>>44456733
Yes. But unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing you shouldn't.
Just treat your house as if Typhlosions lived nearby. Seal food up, prevent scents and it shouldn't really care that you live nearby.
Oh and maybe look into getting an escape route 'mon. Flier or teleporter.
>>
>>44456816
Mismagius/Misdreavus have a habit of communicating via melodic sounds. This may be an odd suggestion, but if you have music you can play - anything at all, they will respond to you.

Perhaps even humming will do. If you can somehow engage them, you can figure out what may be bothering them.
>>

Need a bit of help from any more experienced trainers. My family breeds and raises nidoran and we have a bit of a predicament on our hands. Our oldest and largest, Ol' Bill, was injured when a pack of growlithe broke into the pens and he's currently at the center with a broken leg. Since he's been gone all the other nidorino have been squabbling for dominance and it's scaring the little ones.

Any tips for getting them to relax? If one of my family members or myself is out there they mostly behave, but when they think they're alone they begin to fight again. My father is at wits end and I'm afraid it's gonna give him a heart attack. Thanks in advance.

Mismagius in my apartment.
Kinda flipped out, long story short I'm going to need to move.
So what regions are nice this time of year?
>>
>>44457497
Not Kanto.

Hoenn is extremely popular lately, if you dont mind tourists might wanna try there.

Avoid Kalos, its kind of a dangerzone if you somehow have lived deep underground enough to not know whats going on. Right now I'd say anything could happen.
>>
>>44457497
Move out? Why?

Do you know how many people would kill to have that many Ghost types?
>>
>>44457497
Johto is fine right now, as long as you avoid moving somewhere close to like Mount Silver or some shit.

A lot of the smaller towns are actually great. Olivine and Goldenrod are both good, too. Really, anywhere with a gym is a great location to be, even if rent/mortgage is pretty up there.
>>
>>44457574

I could also try some underground work but that's dangerous, and I'm not really sure how married to my job I am... I wouldn't even know where to start with underground shit, there's pretty much something in every region.
But basically I would take some time to travel, use my savings and get some good writing material. Sell it, make enough to buy a condo in some place where I can happily write more, and be merry.

Are we really positive it's not just a really determined Ditto?

I think there's some sort of thing related to newspaper article production in Solaceon.

If Sinnoh's as weird as Unova is then trust me, you'll have PLENTY of interesting topics to pick.

... I think I need some 'traditional medicine' now. It's bitter but it seems appropriate. Think I left some in the liquor cabinet, coincidentally enough.
Normally count myself lucky for having seen more than one unique legend, but to just have a multi member legend in a pokéball...

Hey, maybe you and mister reporter should get together! Do a piece on latias care.

Actually, on that note, I was wondering if anyone would like a quick meet up on my travels. Maybe even accompany me for some of it, who can say

Dude that's fuckin awesome, go for it. Sinnoh's a great place with huge variations in climate and lifestyle.

I'm self-employed so I can take a bit off of work to come hiking with you if you'd have me.

So I have an idea for a game of PTU in mind. Basically before the game begins the remnants of various criminal organizations and some ultra-rich assholes band together and share notes. They decide to conquer the world by making a new pokemon not unlike Mewtwo or Porygon, but with the express purpose of making the most powerful one they can. Problem is that they jam it full of crazy too and when it comes online, as it were, it flips shit and literally destroys reality. The pokegods 'capture' it, but then have to piece together the world again.

In game, the setting takes place in the Teej Islands, a set of 3 large, 3 medium and a smattering of small islands. The area is sort of disconcerted and such, not unlike some regions in pokemon, but sometimes even more so. And for some reason, people are both at home and at edge in this world. Since many of them died and had to be brought back in a new world, their memories altered some to adjust to the new craziness.

Basically the party of poketrainers set out on what is supposed to be a bog-standard "get the badges, get the pokemon quest except where their notes say there should be eight gyms there are eighteen. Also, pokemon are appearing in areas they shouldn't be, like grimer in a desert and swablu in a deep cave.

At the end, the party must figure out how best to fix the world or whether to let it work itself out.

Thoughts?

Maybe I'll plan a trip across a few regions. See if I can't hit up a few people.
Where do you live?

Pastoria, I'm a bird breeder. Most of the birds I raise are simple companions, but I do also do some competition breeding on the side.

I'm in Goldenrod for now, but I'll be heading off to Blackthorn for their tournament soon. Terrible monetary prizes, but they often offer interesting items to winners.
After that it's... either the Hoenn contest circuit or a bit of a nothing period beofre the frontier cup. Depends how on form my team is when it comes to it.

I'm already GMing this, minus whatever you mean by "Teej Islands;" I must have missed that silliness.

And the players don't seem to realize yet

I say it like Tee-Gee, but a guy in my regular group calls it Teej and it reminded me of islands, thus the Teej Islands.

Also, kudos on your game. Story time maybe?

Should one of us make a new thread soon?

Vaguely reminded of a post apocalyptic monster hunter-y setting. Pokémon now giant and more aggressive in comparison, technology regressed and there are now towns dotted around with monsters in between.
Hunter-trainers deal with pokémon that are an issue, collect relics and stuff. Each hunter has a pokémon partner that due to growing up with humans end up smaller and calmer than their wild counterparts.
Didn't amount to much, but it was interesting.

As someone who has a Delphox, Ninetales, and a Combusken, I can infact confirm that warm water does help improve bath time.

My Ninetales is particularly picky about getting washed and likes to have the water scalding. So try that if the Growlithe still doesn't want to get in. Also she gets upset if I let the air chill her when she gets out so have a pile of towels ready to help her dry off. This really shouldn't take too long though due to fire pokemons' natural body temperatures.

Your daughter has excellent taste in pokemon by the way, it always makes me happy to see another young girl pick up a fire pokemon as their starter. Just be sure and stress some basic fire safety rules and limit firebreathing inside the house and it will all be fine. Arcanine make great life long friends.
