Guardsmen! We have exited the warp and are inbound to Praetoria. We dock and disembark in an hour.

>Navigator guides the cruiser down to a less populated region away from the main hive clusters, to a smaller city in a temperate northern countryside. The old troop transport follows. The dock is reached and the hull doors open.
>>
>>44299998
'Bout fucking time.
All of boring things this trip was the most boring of all.
>>
>>44299998
Hello Commissar. Happy Emperor's Day. How's the hat?

>Training with the phase sword among the Exorcists training grounds.
>>
We...we're actually home? Still not convinced that this isn't just some dream.

>Alice takes a few steps over to the ramp while Arthur readies the men to move out.

In case anyone needs the info for anything, Alice spent most of her time in the Reclusiam(I think that's spelled right) during the trip, while Arthur would haven conversed with the Marines if able while keeping the muppets in line.
>>
>>44300032
Sorry. I forgot the commissar was gone. How are you chaplain?
>>
Appreciate you coming through for me when I called in your favor, lord. Terra knows you didn't have to even come, much less take us someplace safe for Emperor's Day.

>drives the Metal Slug out of the ship
>>
>>44300083
>gestures with an hand like it was a mouth, mocking Gary's speech
>>
>>44300094
There, my nametag fell off board, even!
What is this silly planet called again?
>>
>>44300046
*stares in awe* And I thought that one-arm Crain was good...
>>
>>44300119
>Noticed Rax's pressence, but hasn't heard him.
Hm? Need something, trooper?
>Hasn't stopped training.
>>
>>44300079
I am well, Guardsman. Go forth and enjoy the holiday with the Emperor's blessing.

>>44300083
I do what I can, Trooper Lawzom. The uncommon valor you and your regiment showed on Mekonia saved our mission, and deserves reward. I can at least deliver on that while the last of the 79th still lives.

In any case, my missions will keep me reasonably close to this regiment, so we shall be seeing more of each other...
>>
>>44300149
>groans internally
>>
>>44300133
N-nothing, milady. I'm just gathering any broken things. Need to make adjustments to my armor...
>>
>>44300094
>looks askance, ignores her

>>44300149
Well thanks anyway. We just did what we always do.
>>
>>44300154
Carry on then, I'd hate to interrupt your duties.

And you can drop that "milady" thing with me, I'm an assassin, not a noble, I too live to serve.
>>
>>44300167
Oh fine, ignore me. It is not like you have done nothing to keep me entertained during a long and boring trip in the warp. I wonder where Jackson is.
>>
>>44300118
This 'silly planet' happens to be Praetoria, of the Segmentum Tempestus. Nobles are supposed to be polite you know.

>idly adjusts the jacket of her uniform.
>>
>>44300149
Thank you, sir. By the way, have you seen the feral ork in the maintenance hatch? Someone's asking for you to rouse the voidsmen, and kill it before more come.
>>
>>44300180
Nobles are supposed to be polite with other nobles. And what does it have to do with you and me, anyway? Do you see any noble around here?
>>
>>44300169
I'll... Try. Old habits die hard. *collects scraps of metal*
>>
>>44300118
This is Praetoria. At all the planet is a shithole as every other industrial hive world, but its location is important for the Imperial supply lines in the area.
It also has some strict laws.
>>
>>44300197
Strict laws uh?
>stretches
Strict laws, fun to crash, fun to evade. All the better really... ahw, don't look at me like that, I will be a good girl.
Really.
>>
>>44300203
It's not like I didn't expect you to abuse the backup of the Inquisitor to break every law possible.
>>
>>44300191
>coughs to clear her throat and straightens her posture.
Alice Wellesley, daughter of Alexander Wellesley, Duke of Wellington and sister of Arthur Wellesley, at your service.
>bows in a manner appropriate for the Royal Court.
>>
>>44300184
You mean this?
>indicates severed ork head on a spike

>>44300197
I don't know, QM, this particular city doesn't look too bad. Heh, I bet it's cleaner than Krieg.
>>
>>44300227
Lord Alexander Wellesley*
>>
>>44300227
Ahem, yeah, so, where's your old man?
>>
>>44300221
I don't "break" laws, guardsman.
They bend for me.
That's not quite the same now, isn't it? An anyway...
>>44300227
>coughs and starts choking, becoming paler than a Raven Guard
>>
>>44300233
Yeah, but Praetoria didn't get nuked multiple times.
>>
>>44300233
Just say something or narrate it. No need to make actions like that.

No. Make it bigger. I reckon it was their "Nubs" or something. Nasty fucker though. Almost made me deaf.
>>
>>44300244
Most likely at the family estate, unless his presence is required at Court. We could take a Thunderhawk over with our equipment if Lord Amorth agrees.

>>44300249
>hides a smirk behind a cough and brushes a non-existent speck of dirt off her Powerfist.
>>
>Finishes training beheading the fake oponent.
>The training servitor is a mess of severed limbs and cuts.
I should probably take a rest...
>Walks out, heading to meet up with the rest.
>>
>>44300274
Ugh...
>nervously pushes her hair away from the left half of her head
Really, this is surprising, well, no need to bother your family with lowly guardsmen, right? There, go and don't think of us.
>>
>>44300274
We don't need to borrow one of his, we have one in the other ship. Though I wouldn't mind just driving over there, honestly.
>>
>>44300308
Hello there guys, heard we're about to disembark. Anything going on?
>>
>>44300325
Nothing... absolutely nothing. Assassin, have you seen Jackson?
>>
>>44300335
Negative. Though knowing him he's probably around the medbay, ma'am.
>>
>>44300325
Well Gary says he caught the Ork we guardsmen were supposed to kill, when in fact the ork is still there...

Oh shit.
>>
>>44300308
Nonsense, you're our guests. We'll be more than happy to billet you in one of the House Troops Barracks', it's a lot better than being stuck in a base or in one of the cheaper hotels I assure you.

>>44300311
Hm...the weather is ideal for it, but the good Lord Amorth and his Squad would have to travel in a Rhino or Razorback.
>>
>>44300351
An Ork escaping Gary? Doubtful, he's testosterone ridden officer, but he does his job with outmost efficiency.
>>
>>44300359
Your... house has a set of barracks for troops?
>"Don't tell me that-"
How... big is your house even?
>>
>>44300359
Look, I am sure Inquisitor Verasii can find me a perfect place to sit my ass in for a couple days! No, no, no, that would not be polite of us, right?
>now Anna is not very used to sincere smiles
>but this is by far the worst excuse for a fake smile she ever put on
>>
>>44300370
I've been around enough regiments to know that if you can't see the body, it ain't considered dead. And Emperor damn it, was the body burned? Ach, just give me some promethium, I'll burn it myself.
>>
>>44300359
It's not like they'd mind. Look, they're already preparing their Land Raider.
>>
>>44300389
Hm......I never did know exactly, but the grounds are bigger than York Depot, and YD has space for over ten Regiments plus a few Squadrons of Fighters or Bombers.

House it's self is maybe....three blocks by two blocks?

>>44300395
As you wish Mi'Lady.
>looks slightly perturbed.

>>44300429
Well I'll be, very well, we'll take a drive through the snow.
>>
>Starts unloading a large covered container from the ship
>A very large hooded figure follows
>>
Rolled 79 (1d100)

>>44300452
>interested picked
>let's see if awesome divination powers can tell me what is in there...
>>
>>44300448
>"No way. She's actually a member of nobility."
>"You idiot you're not suppossed to even get engaged and you get engaged with nobility."
>"People around the planet will ask questions about the noble's new lover, they'll get suspicious, rumors will run... they'll endanger it all..."
>Actually sweating now.

T-ten regiments? Your... your family has to be very important to hold so much... property.
>>
>>44300472
>You feel a chaotic anger surging inside the container
>The carriers and follower continual towards the centre of town.
>>
>>44300507
>falls on her knees
Gwah... I'm not a telepath, I don't- ugh- need this kind of feedback...
>>
>>44300475
Are we? I was always led to believe that our family was of minor or moderate nobility at most. Unless the family has been incredibly successful while I was away. Also, do keep in mind that those are Praetorian Regiments so.....five thousand per Regiment, maybe more.
>Alice seems to ponder something, before snapping her right fingers.
That reminds me! I need to get my Dress Uniform! Back in a few!
>Alice sprints over to a Chimera and climbs inside, which the crew politely disembark.
>Arthur also seems to be missing.
>>
>>44300518
>The crew get closer to the town centre as the container start to give off some sort of steam/smoke.
>>
>>44300534
mfw it's a dress
>>
>>44300507
What the hell is in there, Chaplain?

>"Nothing to be concerned about, Lawzom. We have it in hand. Let's just say it's a delivery for the Inquisition."
>>
>>44300475
>>44300546
Ack..
>draws her bolt pistol and tugs Lix's hair
Ok, Assassin. I know it must be good to play the schola girl at her first date for a while but there is something in that box that maybe NEED your attention.
>>
>>44300518
You alright, milady? *Drops a sack full of scraps and approaches*
>>
>>44300568
I will be alright just after I know what is in that box.
>>44300565
... than the Inquisition demands to know!
>>
>>44300566
>Helps Anna get up.
Explain.
>>
>Arthur appears from the rear ramp of Battleaxe, his normal uniform gone in favour of a uniform more fitting the Black Watch, complete with Kilt, Sash and a furry looking hat held under his arm.
>The usual squad of Riflemen follow, dressed in similar uniforms.
Alright lads, what seems to be going on?
>>
>>44300583
You are not authorized to know. Verasii knows, and let that suffice for you.
>>
>>44300608
>Inb4 someone goes "Are you wearing a skirt?"
>>
>>44300608
Ready to get wherever we're going. You look awful pretty.
>>
>>44300589
Chaos in a box. Is that easy enough for you underdeveloped brain?
>>44300612
Who says Verasii knows, eh?
Look, Chaplain, I can just look into the past until I see what did you put in that thing, or you can tell me.
>while Anna is trying to appears as Inquisitorial as she can, dealing with Marines clearly makes her uneasy. She is unwillingly giving out sparks again.
>>
>>44300625
I WAS RIGHT
>>
>>44300625
If thou must(Referring to everyone), please do replace Scotsman with 'Scotian' if one simply MUST make a "Is it true what a Scotsman wears under their kilt?" joke/query.

>>44300626
It is the traditional Uniform of my current Regiment. I must say I rather like the Tartan.
We're just waiting on Alice.
>>
"Purging night, holy bright
Guardsmen are calm, flamer is bright.
Round yon heretics, Mother and Child.
Holy melta so fearsome and fright,
Give the emperor's peace,
Give them the emperor's peace,"

Merry Sanguinalia to all!
>>
>>44300640
>>44300612
I'll keep a watch on the box in case anything goes wrong, but I have no authority to intervene... for now.
>>
>>44300640
Erm... I'll just go melt this metal. *grabs his sack*
>>
>>44300662
>not nova scotian
>>
>>44300640
And using your powers to that end will have consequences for you. Do not force me to put a dampener on you. If the good Inquisitor wishes to tell you, I am certain she will.
>>
>>44300667
>psychic facepalm
>like a mindpalm
>>44300674
Stay here and kep that melta ready guardsman! UNTIL I SAID THE OPPOSITE.
>>
>>44300676
I would like to reference based Canada but there isn't a Scotia on Terra anymore mind. I could always reference Canada later though....
>>
>>44300534
>>44300608

Are we expected to wear our dress uniforms? Well good thing I recently ordered a new one.
*runs back into the ship*
>>
>>44300680
>mutters something about astartes and functional reproduction system
... very "well" then. Carry on. I will just ask the Inquisitor...
>>
>>44300715
>The box is set down outside a shop in the busiest part of town and the crew leave it. The large figure accompanying it has disappeared into the masses.
>>
>>44300731
>closes her eyes and keeps following the box with her mind. It actually causes her to lose blood from the nose and mouth, but she manages to track the box down
>>
>>44300714
>Alice climbs out of the vacated Chimera, which the crew immediately recrews, dressed identically to Arthur and the Riflemen, minus her Powerfist, traded for a Powersabre.
>She then jogs back over to the group while Arthur and Co. climb into 'Crusader'.
Alright chaps, are we ready?
>>
>>44300731
>Keeps a watch over the box, you don't simply take your eyes off anything when Chaos is involved.
>>
>>44300731
I feel tempted to open it, but on the other hamd that could interfere with my promise about not trying to accidently destroy this planet.
Well, I bet someone else curiosity will get the better of him.
>>
uhh..

I just mixed a drop of promethium with 10cc of tranquilizers and ate 20 grams psychedelic herbs last night. We're are we?
>>
>>44300758
>>44300782
>>44300789
>Starts heavily smoking
>The crowds queuing look frightened but have been there for hours and won't give up their spot in line to run away.
>>
>>44300689
Erm... Alright... What's a melta?
>>
>>44300803
>jumps up
Fuck that, now we can not trust even the Astartes.
>>44300789
>>44300782
You two, move those legs and follow me.
>>44300810
An improvement over a fl-
Why am I even explaining myself!?
>>
Okay, whoever is fucking around with the box best pack their shit in.
>>
>>44300803
>Has Polymorphed as a normal citizen.
>Has placed herself between the closest queue of people and the box
>"I swear if it's the eversor what's inside I'll kill someone..."
>>
>>44300772
Yep, I'm ready to roll. Lead the way.

And let the Astartes worry about that business.
>>
>>44300825
Don't be angry, milady! *kneels down and bows*
>>
>>44300825
Okay I will come with you.
>>
>>44300871
I'm kind of curious, what's a krieger's dress uniform look like?
>>
>Through comm-bead without dropping the disguise.
>Whispering.
Chaplain... what is in that box... it's actually drawing way too much attention to be exchanged with the inquisition with secrecy.
>>
>>44300852
>>44300803
>stomps over with his squad, slams something on the box that seems to pacify it

Brothers, secure this item. We shall take it to the Inquisition ourselves.

not letting our Christmas thread get rekt
>>
>>44300920
>confused. avi
>does not like being confused
>>
>>44300842
>>44300920
>Alice grumbles and jogs over to climb into a jeep.
>She flicks through some Vox Channels and then picks up the handset.
>"Lady Wellesley to York Defense, deploy A Company, Second Batallion, Twenty Fifth Heavies to York Center and have some Priests with them. They are to escort the Astartes to wherever they need to go but they must NOT TOUCH THE ITEM."
>"Cheers Yorkie."

Now.........what in the bloody hells do we do now?
>>
>>44300920
maybe that's not a good idea
>>
>>44300951
Well, let's go on to your house. I'd like to see how rich folk live. Amorth knows what the fuck he's doing.
>>
>>44300885
Skulls and medals of honour. And for an officer of course a cape and decorations on the helmet.
>>
>>44300949
>Feels the same.
>>44300951
>Turns an empty corner before polymorphing into her usual Guardswoman disguise.
So. That was something...
>>
>>44300920
>The crew who were carrying the box, run up to you looking frightened.
"My lord we were instructed to have that box outside that shop by 9am! Please you have to put it back!"
>the town clock creeks up to 8:57
>>
>>44300961
Well they're the ones who brought it, though it was someone else who revealed its presence. They'll secure it. Though are you perhaps the one who is "Crew"?
>>
>>44301011
We are simply getting it out of sight, serf. Return to the ship.
>>
>>44301013
aye my harty
>>
>>44301011
>Exitus rifle ready
>Sights trained on the box
>He had another target, but this seems much more pressing
>>
>>44300977
Very well, mount up everyone. We're heading out.
>gestures to the vacant Jeeps with a bark of annoyance.

>>44300961
But you see, no. Christmas isn't being ruined. So....please stop the shenanigans.
>>
>>44301038
"My lord they said it had to be in that location!"
>Clock goes to 8:58
>The panicked crewman produces a rossete
>>
>>44299998
Merry Emperor's day to you all!
Sorry I'm late, had to do all the guiding and the cruisers and send wishes to my family on Terra.

What's going on?
What's that box?
>>
>>44301040
I see. Are you new, or a previous player?
>>
>>44300995
I am getting an headache. Multiple headaches, from multiple sources.
This is why I hate the Emperor's day!
>>
>>44301070
just go with it and previous
>>
>>44301057
>Has jumped on the jeep, but feels uneasy to leave the box with just the Exorcists around.
>You can clearly see she's worried about the situation.
>>
>>44301078
THAT IS BECAUSE YOU ARE A FOUL PSYKER AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR GLORIOUS EMPEROR'S DAY.

>>44301060
AN INQUISITORIAL ROSETTE?

>>44301011
WHO ORDERED YOU TO DO THAT?
>>
>>44301060
Brother Alexius is out there, waiting for its delivery.

Oh? Do you mind explaining to me what mission caused you to sneak aboard my ship, Inquisitor? You should have asked, as I am always willing to accommodate the Inquisition. But you had best explain yourself. At once.
>>
>The requested reinforcements show up and rope down from their Valkyries, then start swiftly ordering the civilians away from the area, who swiftly return to their homes or head for 'quieter' parts of town.
>The troops then set up a cordon around the area and man it professionally, with a few worried glances at the 'item' that holds the Exorcists attention.
>>
>>44301108
GAH!
Y-you! Piece of- you bolter bitch with half a working brain! What is in your mind!
>>
>>44301135
Ah. No rest on Emperor-mass it seems.

>>44301078
Are you alright... friend?
>>
>>44301146
*laughs*
IN MY MIND YOU WILL FIND NOTHING BUT THE PUREST LOVE FOR THE EMPEROR, AND DEVOTION.

UNLIKE YOU.
>>
>>44301098
>>44301135
>Kind of wants to drop down from the jeep and help.
>She is going to do so unless stopped.
>>
>>44301167
Call it alright. Everyone is trying to make me angry. I have the worst headache. And have you seen jackson around?
>>44301180
Yeah, yeah, don't yell at least...
>>
>>44301167
OF COURSE, THE MUTANT WOULD MAKE FRIENDS WITH THE PSYKER, WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED.
>>
>>44301167
A Guardsman is never allowed rest Mi'Lady Elena.
Why did I even bother to get my hopes up.
>Alice rests her head on the steering wheel of the jeep for a while. Before raising it and straightening her Bearskin.

>>44301184
Stay....stay here, if things go wrong we'll still be here since apparently we can't go TEN WARP DAMNED MINUTES WITHOUT SOMETHING GOING WRONG!
>>
>>44301180
>>44301146
>>44301184
>>44301068
>>44301057

Penal regiment! Please proceed at once to your destination. This Inquisitor and I are to have words.
>>
>>44301127
"I'm no Inquisitor my lord, I'm his acolyte!"
>Looks up at clock 8:59
"If that box isn't back there in 1 minuite all these people will die! Now please just put the box back!"
>>
>>44301223
But they won't mate. Because NOTHING is ruining the Emperor's Day. So what you need to do, is stop, or go. Because you're just going to be ignored if even -ONE- person dies....unless someone is an admin on the Weekends I suppose.
>>
>>44301217
Is not the box I'm worried about, Alice...

I feel as if someone is watching me from far away... it's... hard to explain... I don't even want to drop my disguise if a fight arises...
>>
>>44301215
>draws her bolt pistol
DO I have to remind you what is the job of those mutants, sister? ARE YOU SO DENSE?
>>
>>44301223
Very well, Interrogator.

>they pull the box back out

Now explain at once. All I know is that this package is to be delivered to the Inquisitorial offices. Explain this rigmarole.
>>
>>44301222
>>44301253
Don't worry about it.....now everyone mount up so we can be on our way!
Damnit!
>>
>>44301256
Put that thing away before I take it from you. Have a drink, and sit far away from Theresia.
>>
>>44301215
>still kneeling
>immensely confused
>absolutely terrified of Theresia's "normal speaking"
>>
>>44301276
Then it will be you braindead monkey to explain her why do we fucking need navigators, eh? I swear if I hear her insulting a member of a navigator house again...
>>
>>44301193
Ah, I'm sorry about the head ache. I brought gifts though, it's not much since the ship didn't stop by any non-military route, but it's something.

>hands over a lovely scarf made of some expensive material and a some actual, real fruits, grown on a planet and preserved in a non-rations form

>>44301215
Stop yelling. I got you some too.
>also hands her over some fruits

>>44301217
Wrong time to give you your Emperor's day present?
>>
>>44301301
Uh, ehm...
>takes the scar, looking a confused
Thanks, I suppose.
Sorry, I have nothing for you... I only have a gift for Jackson...
>her grins goes from one ear to the other
And he is not going to like it...
>>
>>44301296
Just leave it alone. We all know full well what Navigators do, but that doesn't mean we have to like it. Now have a drink before I make you.

>Relieved the acolyte breathes a sigh of relief as the clock chimes 9am
>On the dot the stores doors open and the crowd rushes in. Simultaneously the crate opens to reveal a stasis pod.
>Omicron XXIII-K-IV comes flying out of stasis and bursts through the crowd, fighting a single mum of 5 for a bmx and two overweight women for a VR headset he makes his way over to the cash register.
>He looks back at the acolyte and give him a thumbs up for getting him to the front of the queue for the Emperors day sales.

If you hadn't of put the crate down there would of been a line of dead people lol
>>
>>44301322
Then why would you give it to him, if you know he won't like it? Maybe you can make someone else happy with it?
>>
>>44301334
I KNEW IT!
>>44301330
MAKE ME.
>>44301341
EHEHEH. I know WHY.
>>
>>44301330
>>44301296
It's very much okay, I know what I am. I'm not as stuck up as my terran brethren, and well, I'm not from the mightiest family, pushing a penal regiment around in the warp. It's fine really.

Thanks for standing up for me though, Anna.
>>
>>44301334
WHY YOU! YOU SHOULD BE TERMINATED FOR YOUR IMPUDENCE AND DEFECTIVENESS BESIDES!

Lol ok, you got us but good. I'm giggling right now

It is not a matter of Terra. Navigator houses are... whatever. Not important now!
I need to talk to Alice.
>>
Suddenly it occurs to me that Omicron is HowToBasic
>>
>>44301294
>>44301296
Everyone.....SHUT UP.
>Alice steps out of the jeep and.....

>>44301334
>.....turns to regard their new guest with an expression politely describes as 'beyond annoyed'.
No. No. No. No. No. I just called a Company of troops over here for THIS? THIS?
>Alice's hand strays to the holster of her Bolt Pistol, but instead of drawing it, she calmy climbs into the jeep and starts slamming her head on the steering wheel.
THE NEXT PERSON TO START AN ARGUMENT GETS SHOT! BECAUSE I AM DONE!

I am....pleasantly suprised. And very relieved that nobody died.....although for the record all the civilians were ordered out of the area.
>>
>>44301301
*looks confused at the fruits*
I... err.
*seems to hesitate between disgust and being really moved*
whatever it is emperor's day thread
THANK YOU. A LOT. I DID NOT EXPECT THIS.
>>
>>44301334
>Stern.
>Head venting heat.
Just one moment Alice, I'll be right back.
>Walks towards Omicron.
>Slaps him.
>Stays a few seconds looking at him, very stern.
>Drops the stern face.
>Then hugs him.

Never. I repeat, never, do that again...
>>
>>44301434
NO YOU SHUT UP!
We need to talk, Miss Mindscars.
>>
>>44301452
Group hug?
>>
>>44301437
That was nice of her Sis.
>>44301378
You're probably the best Navigator I've ever know...
>>
>Getting to the cashier, he realises he has no money and looks at LIX
>>44301452
>>
>>44301434
>laughs uncontrollably
>>
>>44301490
>Sighs.
Happy Emperor's Day, you magnificient Bastard
>Pays Omicron's toys.
>>
>>44301457
What part of 'done' do you not get? Because I most certainly am. Now. In. The. Jeep. Get.
>Alice makes a series of hand gestures and a squad of 'Heavies' march over and spread themselves among the Jeeps or on top of the Chimera's.
Nooooooooooooooow.

Guys please. Just get in so we can have bloody christmas.
>>
>>44301526
>grins
Don't wanna. Make me, mindscars.
>>
>>44301526
ALRIGHT YOU LOT! MOUNT UP BEFORE THE LT LOSES PATIENCE!
>>
>>44301476
Yeah, I keep telling her she's too nice as well
>looks over at Theresia
That, for example, that was really really nice. All I got from the dear sister ever were 50 lashes.
>>
>>44301434
*mumbles meekly from the spot he was ordered to stay, still kneeling* Yes, milady...
>>
>>44301520
>>44301526
Now get in a jeep and behave.
>Jumps into Alice's Jeep again.
>>44301534
Come on, Ma'am I wouldn't want our inquisitorial agent left behind with the space marines, I bet they wouldn't have much to entertain you with.
>>
>>44301526
>hops in
Relax Lieutenant, things will be fine. The Emperor's tarot predicted nothing horrible.
>>
>>44301534
>Sergeant Konstantine grabs her up and puts her in the Land Raider

>>44301490
Grrr... I very much suggest you not try that again. You hear me, Interrogator?

>gets in Land Raider, annoyed
>>
>>44301534
Do you really want me to make you get in the Jeep? I mean do you -really- want me to?
I'd just like you to swear before the Platoon, that Company of Troops over there and a Squad of Exorcists that you wish me to make you get in this Jeep.
>>
>>44301562
If you really insist...
>>44301571
Ohw! I was making a snarky comment!
>>
>>44301539
Heh heh heh heh heh...
>>
>Jumps on the back pegs of Saharduin new BMX and follows
>>
>>44301539
Oh finally I see you again!

I also have a gift for you. Later.
>winks
>>
>>44301585
FOR TRYING TO SEDUCE A NAVIGATOR, IT WAS DESERVED.

>>44301594
*sees Elena wink*
*sighs*

>>44301585
*whispering*
I know it's technically heresy, but should I sentence him to 50 lashes again?
>>
Everyone is here? Good, lets move out.
>Alice turns on the Jeep's engine and leads the convoy on the road towards the Wellesley Holdings.
>She turns to one of the Troopers in her jeep and makes a few gestures. The Trooper nods in turn and turns to his Vox.
>>
>>44301650
Is Theresia's whispering actually "Normal" volume talking?
>>
>>44301650
Sister, aren't supposed to be in holiday leave today?
>>
>>44301660
You wouldn't have been able to make me, anyway.
And we NEED to talk, you know about what.
>>
>>44301660
>A cloaked figure on the road clutches his side and waves at the convoy to stop
>>
>>44301650
How about 20? And only if I get to watch while you administer them, wearing just your bodyglove...
>>
>>44301665
yes

>>44301680
IT IS EMPEROR'S DAY. I SHOULD ATTEND MASS, OR IF NONE IS BEING DONE, MAKE ONE HAPPEN.
>>
>>44301681
Trust me, you wouldn't have gotten in the jeep. Conscious or not. And I really don't care right now. I'm not in a good mood.

>>44301686
>Alice signals for the column to halt and stops a little bit away from the figure.
State your identity and your issue!
>>
>>44301693
Whatever you two have going on, please leave me out of it.

>>44301594
>sighs
Elena you're getting me into trouble again.
>>
>>44301703
I heard the Chaplain saying he'll offer a homily at the Cathedral, while the Bishop presides as celebrant.
>>
>>44301703
Alright sister, but there only so much i can do with a fully loaded autopistol. Much likely i'll start a riot.

Ahh.. The roaring masses to love their zealous looting and killing sprees.
>>
>>44301724
would have gotten*
>>
>>44301724
>The figure holds up a cylinder in his right hand. A detonator!
For the gods!
>Before he can press down, his head explodes in a shower of gore.
>Arthur's vox indicates an incoming communication.
>>
>>44301693
*whispers* Is she like that?
>>
>>44301766
>he just smiles

>>44301765
Well shit. That was close.
>>
>>44301765
...
>Inspects the body.
I knew someone was watching...
>>
>>44301734
WONDERFUL! A BISHOP! THE TRUE SPIRIT OF EMPEROR'S DAY.

>>44301743
THEN UNLOAD YOUR AUTOPISTOL, OR DO I HAVE TO DO THAT FOR YOU?
>>
>>44301765
WHAT WAS THAT?
>>
>>44301777
*shivers* reminds me of Mistress...
>>
>>44301786
>a cursory inspection reveals that the heretic was wearing a necklace with an eight-pointed star as well as an explosive vest.
>Arthur's vox continues to ping.
>>
>>44301765
>Alice, looking rather unbothered by the exploding headed Heretic simply orders the Heavies to dismount and fan out into the woods, while a Valkyrie carrying another couple of squads drops into a field next to the road, troops dropping out before it goes into a low orbit of the area.

>Arthur meanwhile pulls off his Bearskin and pulls on a Vox headset.
"Captain Wellesley, go ahead and send, over."
>>
KK time to leave, Job's calling. Back in a phew hours.
>>
>>44301811
... Alice.
For the last time, I need to have a word with you.
>looks around and whispers
How did you know?
>>
>>44301787
Yes. I'm tired, i wish im back sleeping in the base.
>>
>>44301729
Sorry...

>>44301693
>looks at him with her big, all-black, rather inhuman eyes
Why would you even suggest such a thing?
>>
>>44301811
Captain? Yeah, sorry I cut that so close. It was the only way to flush the target out. This is vindicare Eta XXXII, and it appears that I've been assigned to your regiment. Something about needing long range support.
>>
>>44301820
See ya in a few.

>>44301853
>It's obvious that he's eating something while he talks.
>>
>>44301836
>Alice, in a show of courtesy, lowers her voice too.
Know? About what? I'm not sure what you mean.

>>44301853
>Arthur nods inside the Chimera and taps the transmit button.
"No worries, meet us at the Wellesley Manor, I'm assuming you're already aware of which one that is, yes?"
>>
>>44301888

>tugs on Alice's sleeve
Alice, Anna wants to say something to you and it looks rather important.
>uses the occasion to land herself next to Ruh in the transport
>>
>>44301787
It'll be a thing of beauty... kinda like you when you're purging...

>>44301852
>grins
What can I say, brutal zealots attract one another.
>>
>>44301894
>Wakes up from the sound of the explosion, gripping rifle tightly
Hey Elena, do you mind filling me in on what just happened? I'm a little lost.
>>
>>44301888
Come on, that thing about nobles was not...
It is your family that told you? I mean, I know some nobles keep relationships with the leading classes of other planets...
>>
>>44301914
>Pops out from behind.
Hey jackson. zzsup?
>>
>>44301914
>blows you a kiss and giggles
Hey Jackson. I got you a present, later though.
>>
>>44301910
>whispering
but you know, how'd'you feel if someone was always stopping you two from being together?
And most people don't look down on you for being... not human. I mean, also, you're handsome, you could get a lot of girls if you wanted. Whereas me... well... let's just not talk about it.

>>44301914
Ah. Erm, well, there was something with a box. Then it opened and those two funny guys that *giggles* tried to have me spy on the sister and Gary came out of it. Now Alice is hangry and wants to eat I guess, Anna has a headache and yup, that's it.
Oh, apparentely we have now Eversor support. And are heading back to Wellesley mansion.
>>
>>44301951
Oh you got him a "later" present too! How... nice!
>giggles
>>
>>44301910
... Oh hey, these scraps seem so interesting! *looks mostly disturbed while weighing the torn chunks of metal on his hand*
>>
>>44301965
>EHEHEH
>WE ARE NOT ON THE SAME PAGE HERE
>EHEHEHEH
>>
>>44301888
>still eating something
Oh, I'm already here. Gotta say, your dad's a pretty nice guy.
>>
>>44301953
What are you complaining about? You've got Ruh there. And just don't let Sis catch you at it. I'm kinda doing you a favor by keeping her... occupied.
>>
>>44301927
>Alice ponders the question for a few seconds and turns back to Anna, still whispering.
Know the family name. Borgia's were on Praetoria....what, twelve years ago, visiting the King's Court, my own family was in attendance too. Don't remember much of the Borgia's, but they seemed like decent people....think it was father, mother, daughter, maybe a couple of siblings or cousins?
>Alice puts the Jeep back in gear and signals for the column to move out towards the mansion, which soon comes into sight.
>Said mansion, along with the grounds are -expansive-, to say the least.
>>
>>44301953
>grabs her hand subtly
>whispering
I don't care you're mutated.
>>
>>44301997
... wait the fuck-
YOU!?
I mean, you were... oh Thronedammit! Don't tell anyone else!
>>
>>44301945
Dolan. I'm okay. little startled but okay. How are ya? I might have a mission for you later.

>>44301951
Hey, Anna I missed something didn't I.

>>44301953
Hangry? hehe. Wait... Another assassin. We got one of each now don't we. *sigh* So where are we headed? Looks at mansion... oh... their loaded.
>>
>>44302031
Collect 'em all!
>>
>>44302031
Ohw, I thought you liked me, don't be so shy!
>dat grin
>up to no good/10
>>
>>44301977
>Arthur chuckles through the Vox.
That he is, nice shot by the way, although that was to be expected.

>>44302022
>Alice turns to look at Anna for a second.
Don't tell anyone....Hang on.......
>eyes the colour of Anna's hair.
Oh. OH. Don't know why you wouldn't want me to, but....okay.
>>
*regards the Wellesley estate*

So this is part of what I fight for then...
>>
>>44301974
Elena is too nice to think of anything else

>>44301980
Thanks. Sorry I was a bit scared of you before.
>hands him over a flask of 15-year old Amasec, special reserve
Happy Emperor's day.

>>44302022
What's wrong?
>>
>stumbles in
What?
>>44302058
Where are we?
>>
>>44302031
>looks at the mansion
Eh, reminds me of home almost. Bit less heavy on the marble and gold decorations.
>>
>>44302063
Nothing!
>>44302057
Stuff. Inquisitorial stuff, ok? Look, ask your family, I am sure they will be able to explain.
>>
>>44302068
At some noble's mansion, milord.
>>
>>44302063
*opens it, sniffs, takes a sip*
Not bad. Not at all. You have good taste. And thanks. Them that love and faithfully serve the Emperor need not fear me.

>>44302068
The Wellesley estate on Praetoria. You mind your manners now.
>>
>>44302058
>Alice shrugs at Gary and continues driving, with the column approaching the perimeter gate and halting momentarily to be waved through, before continuing towards the House Barracks'.
Eh, in our defence, we earned most of our fortune through trade....and military service, always military service....

>>44302086
As you wish.
>>
>>44302054
*grins back*

>>44302068
*catches him*
Watch out, Hank. The chimera is still moving.

>>44302079
What? You live like this too?

>>44302086
*starts listening in after he hears inquisitorial stuff*
>>
>>44302054
IT IS EMPEROR'S DAY, NOT HERESY DAY. STOP THAT.

>>44302003
THAT'S IT, 20 LASHES FOR YOU.
TOMORROW.
TONIGHT I'M GOING TO BE VERY VERY BUSY DOING OTHER THINGS. LOOKING THE OTHER WAY.
*winks*

>>44302058
IMPRESSIVE.

>>44302110
THAT SMELLS DELIGHTFUL, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT, GARY?
>>
>>44302111
No defense needed. I'd like to enjoy this kind of life myself some day...
>>
>>44302107
Please..do not call me that.
>>44302110
...Why does this always happen when i'm asleep?!
>>44302123
GAH!
>Almost falls off the edge
>>
>>44302123
Now now, don't eavesdrop. It is not proper! Now come with me so I can give you my gift.
>pats on a large box near her seat
>>
>>44302135
Some amasec the Navigator just gave me. Damned good too. Try it...
>>
>>44302142
Easy now, I'm not gonna tell you to go dip your wick in a girl again. Just relax, and enjoy their hospitality.
>>
>>44302111
Well you're lucky, I've been in military service since I am 16 and all I earned was ten years of penal regiment and my family and friends all dead.

>>44302135
Did she just try to be nice?
>>
>>44302142
Sorry. Old habit, you know?
>>44302135
*tries to not look scared, failing miserably*
>>
>>44302148
Did we stop driving yet? And I was not eavesdropping I was paying attention to my surroundings

>>44302142
*Pulls Hank into a seat*
We're almost there.

>>44302198
Hay same here. Except I'm 28 and had joined when I was 12.

>>44302220
You need something to calm your nerves?
>>
Just so everyone knows, Wellesly!anon's browser just froze. He'll be back momentarily.
>>
>>44302192
...
>sits down, looking down
>>44302220
........................
>>44302245
.........................................
>>
>>44302283
You want a sedative too?
>>
>>44302245
Not yet.
Are you excited? Tell me you are!
>>
>>44302245
*whispers meekly* Yes please...
>>
>>44302140
Eh, you might be able to if you impress Uncle Alan, but that's a conversation for another day.
>The column pulls up outside the row of Barracks' and the Praetorians dismount their vehicles and jog into the furthest one with their gear.
>A pair of guards direct the Platoon to the second in line and the Astartes to the third, should they wish it.
Oh aye, that reminds me Gary. Got uniforms for you and Theresia in there.
>>
>>44302321
>Gary
>Ever wearing a dress uniform
>>
Sorry about the delay btw, browser just straight up crashed and I had to use Task Manager to kill it.
>>
>>44302123
Never been to the Navigator's quarters on Terra? It's rather insane. We have a small palace, but it's dwarfed by the bigger estates there. And the paternoval gardens are just the most heavenly piece of Terra if you ask me. They have this spring ball there, when everything is in bloom *sigh*...

>>44302135
Oh no.
OH.
Ooooh I get what she's doing.
>>
>>44302305
............
>>
>>44302321
*raises his brow and exaggeratedly sneers*

I washed the hell out of myself and my fatigues before we landed. This is as dressy as I get!

>he actually does smell pretty good

And I should think a Sister in power armor is impressive enough. Unless she wants to put on some robes instead.
>>
aaanndd fuck. I gotta go. See you nerds later.
>>
>>44302378
What's wrong with you? Lost your voice?
>>
>Still clinging to saharduins back.
>Saharduin is panting for breath as he makes his way up the hill on the houses drive on his new bmx.
>>
>>44302031
Sweet! If the mission entails going into a bakery and acquiring holiday pastries, im all in.
>>
>>44302396
Gary, Gary, Gary.....
>Alice shakes her head in an exaggerated manner.
That might work for an Enlisted or NCO, but Commissioned Officers are expected to wear dress uniforms for 'formal' occasions.
>As Alice says it, she places more emphasis on 'Commissioned Officers'.
>>
>>44302321
DOES THE CUSTOM HERE REQUIRE ME TO REMOVE MY POWER ARMOUR?

IF SO, I'LL PUT ON MY ROBES. I... DON'T FEEL OKAY WITH WEARING ANYTHING ELSE.
>>
>>44302318
I am quite excited.

I'm also excited to get outta this box.
*Stands up grinning*
Well time to put my plans in action. now where are the medical quarters?

>>44302370
Never. I've been a field soldier my entire life. My palaces have consisted of hastily made trenches and bombed out buildings

>>44302321
Dress uniforms as in clean carapace?

>>44302378
Come on Hank. We've stopped.

>>44302428
Well we'll be getting holiday gifts... hehehehe
>>
>>44302318
>jumps down the vehicle, dragging the box with her. It seems to be rather heavy.
>>
>>44302447
>>44302449
No, no, come here!
>drags the box to the center of courtyard, in an isolated spot
>>
>>44302438
I would imagine your robes would be more comfortable yes. Although if you feel you must be in armour, the uniform comes with a set of matching Carapace, decorated for formal occasions.

>>44302447
...Close enough. As long as the uniform that goes with it is clean too.

>Arthur climbs out of his Chimera and jugs into the Astartes Barracks, in case they have questions.
>>
>>44302447
Don't worry i shall nick us a 100 pound premium grox ham. Im sure the Wellesley's will be happy to oblige us.
>>
>>44302431
What the fuck! Have I been promoted again?! Last I checked, and according to this tat on my arm, I was still an RSM.

just to clarify, he's wearing that green tank top and fatigue vest Catachans wear, he isn't shirtless.
>>
>>44302513
Told ya, you should have gotten an armband.
>>
>>44302462
Alright then. Someone take care of Hank.
*places bags near the building and heads over to Anna*

>>44302478
Great. I'm happy with that.

>>44302500
*wispers*
I was think more personal gifts. A more tracked one

it this just a base on the manor grounds?
>>
>>44302540
Alrighty! I'll also "acquire" some fancy jewelry, wine and if i'm lucky, some bored lonely noblewomen.
>>
>>44302513
>Alice nods and gestures towards the Barracks building.
Mhm, Major, now that you ask. Arthur feels that the Reg will need an additional Officer once we're gone and he picked you. We would haven given you Lt. Colonel, but in Arthur's own words "You'd have called him a cunt then the pair of you would spend the rest of the day fighting each other and getting pissed".
Plus we now you wouldn't be happy sitting at the back, eh?
>>
>>44302478
THEN IT WILL BE MY ROBES.

>>44302513
GARY JUST PUT ON THEIR UNIFORM. I PROPOSE WE GO CHANGE SOMEWHERE.
IF YOU'D BE SO KIND TO SHOW US TO A ROOM.
>>
>>44302540
>stand there with the box, grinning like a maniac
Close your eyes!
>>
>>44302578
What are you doing Anna?
>>
>>44302567
You'll do no such thing! You get to stay in the barracks and get pissed, along with some of the others!

>>44302572
Second room on the left Mi'Lady. That's for both of you.
>>
>>44302602
Shhh shhhh! It is a surprise!
>>
>>44302567
*whispers*
Not so loud. Later.

>>44302578
*closes eyes*

>>44302602
Don't know. little scared.
>>
>>44302612
>whispering
ohh bugger off, you grox twiddling noble-wankers.
>>
>>44302569
>>44302572
*his augmetic eye turns a bright crimson and it looks like his temple vein is about to pop*
Grrrr... for fucks sake, fine. You're still a thundering cunt for this Skelly!
*grabs up the fancy uniform*

Alright, Sis, let's go change then...
>>
>>44302633
>Jackson hears some rustling, then a kiss on his cheek... followed by a clicking sound as something closes around his arm.
>as he opens eyes, he realizes he has been shackled to a melta bomb, and said bomb is ticking
>Anna stands in front of him, giggling
SAVE THE EMPEROR'S DAY JACKSON!
>>
>>44302612
EXCELLENT.
*grabs Gary by his vest and drags him along to the room*
>>
[spoilers]gtg babysitting my niece.
>>
>the Land Raider rumbles up the wide driveway, the Marines exit it

An impressive estate!
>>
>>44302672
No! Anna! Why did you do that? You'll kill everyone.
>>
>Omi just stands round wondering what the hell is going on
>Sah is busy trying to endo his bmx in his centurion armour.
>>
>>44302672
>flicks the off switch
It's a delayed charge you twit.
>>
>>44302713
Naaaaah, only those who are too stupid to be around!
>hse herself is staying right in front f the bomb though
>>44302731
>really, roll me d100 if you need to kill the fun
>>
>>44302672
*stone faced*
I't like Yarvan 4 all over again...
*plugs data slate into bomb, starts typing*
Access granted. bomb diffused. Have a nice day, In~quhgsabnv *quickly covers the speakers with hands*
>>
>>44302742
I thought you were my friend! Why do you do such horrible things?
>>44302724
Help us! Anna has shackled Lt Jackson to a meltabomb.
>>
>>44302686
>allows himself to be drug along, mollified that he has a room with Theresia.
>but still grumbling
>>
>>44302752
>THE BOMB GOES OFF-
>and explodes in a cloud of confetti
MERRY EMPEROR'S DAY!
>>
>>44302765
It's not the first time.

>>44302773
That was a first, and surprising.
>>
>>44302652
>Alice sighs to herself and flicks the Vox on once again, switching channels, once again.
>"Local Command, Miss Wellesley, triple the guard detail on the House Barracks complex, particularly the second in Row three. Oh, and don't tell the Duke I'm here eh? There's a good chap."
>As requested, a few squads of troops duck out of the first Barracks and start patrolling the row, followed a dozen minutes afterwards with a pair of Chimera's rolling up the path.

>>44302709
I'm honoured that you think so Mi'Lord.
>drops to a knee....err, as much as one can with a Kilt.
I just hope we can prove to be adequate hosts to guests such as yourself.
>>
>>44302765
>>44302773
>Looks over,shrugs
>>44302772
>Starts throwing rocks at random guardsmen and pointing at gary whenever they look up.
>>
>>44302773
*grabs some confetti and uses it to ignite a small fire over which he heats the chunks of metal in a bowl made of stone*
>>
>>44302765
Alright time to get you away from...

>>44302773
oh.

That must be the unfunniest thing I've ever known to happen.
People have gotten blammed for less you know.
>>

Yes there is one here and no you can't borrow a Jeep. For the vehicles of House Wellesley and visiting dignitaries only.

>She gestures her face away from Alice, staring to the ground.
It was two years ago.
I don't remember on which planet, but the Iron Warriors had set themselves a trenched position in a Hive-World.

The guard couldn't get past their fortress' defenses and space marine reinforcements would take a year to arrive, even worse the only ones able to sent reinforcements were the Marines Malevolent. I was off service on a close system and I was given the assignement to neutralize the chain of command.

The fortress had no weakness, the only way in was to be taken in. Sadly, the Iron Warriors didn't show up chunks of meat out of their armor as some plague marines do, so I could not impersonate them. Luckily, they used to take slaves in by raiding the hive cities. I had one chance to go in. I had to impersonate a civillian, I had to be captured... pose as a slave, get close, kill the chain of command, then, get out...

What my mission briefing didn't count with was that the Iron warriors had a plan to make sure no one would try to escape back to the Imperium...

They marked their Slaves, they made sure that if seen by an imperial officer or guard they'd just seem like mere cultists... I couldn't risk... no, I couldn't afford avoiding the line to be marked. It would endanger my mission.

I was there, for seven days, acting as a slave, seeing how they were treated, suffering it in my own bones, analyzing their chain of command.

When I had everything I took two nights to finnish off the chain of command... and some extras to make sure the fortress would be undermanned for the next guard attack. I murdered them like the savages and heretics they were, I hardly could control myself knowing that when the guard would strike they'd deem all the marked civillians as cultists.

I couldn't bear to remove myself the scar they left me, it is the one from which I'm most ashamed and at the same time the most proud of, a reminder of why I fullfill my duty to the imperium. And yet if seen by a loyal servant I'd be shot right at the spot where I stand at.

I know I'd mess it up.

>Greely continues

That they have discharged their duties in taxing situations that would have - and actually have - killed lesser men.

In short, I'm saying you should be proud of their service, and not perceive their assignment as some sort of insult.
>>
>>44304905
Thank you. Let's go guys.
>starts the Rover and pulls away once everyone is on board
Who said anything about robbing? It's all following the rules of the guard.
>>
>>44304968
>once the jeep is away from the manor
Alright Elena sign these and put your clearance codes on this data slate
>hands her blank requisition forms and a data slate.
If their's anything that you guys want tell me now so I can add it to the list.
>>
>>44304952
Err... Was there a possibility for it to go better? How did it get worse, milady?
>>44304968
*follows* so... What now, milord?
>>
>>44305029
What are these for? What are you trying to get me to sign?

You heard him, this is guard things, I'm not part of that.

>Once the group pulls out, the Enginseer picks up the landline and dials in a number.
>"Depot Five Niner Four, Captain Wilson, Security Detachment, Duke of Wellington's Estate, all personnel on high alert, looking for one times black 'Rover, occupants, one times Lieutenant, possibly a Medic, one times Guardsman...possibly Feral World, one times Praetorian Guardsman, unsure of the Regiment and one times Navis Nobilite member. Mhm, Lieutenant has a Rosette, I'm certain it's not his. Mhm, yes sir. Yes sir. I'll inform the Lord sir."
>"Mhm, of course he did, but you think I'm fussed? We'll see what the Lord's Brother says. Mhm, yes sir....thank you sir. Aye."
>The Engineer sets the phone down and picks up the Vox set.
>"Central Control, Captain Wilson. I must speak to Lord Wellesley....."

Lieutenant, what are you trying to do?

>>44305058
Hey, isn't that...? Another assassin?
Oh holy throne not another.
>>
>>44305047
Requisition forms. Anyone can request stuff but the higher the rank the more weight it carries.
>>44305091
Get some new equipment for us. It'll come in handy later.

>Slows down
Hey. Where are you headed?

I...think I have a funny feeling that I know what you speak of, but...continue...

>>44304956
It is indeed an...honour that they were able to continue their task in such a manner.
I am however upset that they were swept under the rug and weren't even allowed to return their Colours.....
>Alex trails off as the Voxset in his study starts beeping.
Excuse me gentlemen. I have a serious call coming in.
>Alex bows to the assembled personnel and returns to the study, closing the door gently.
>>
>>44305029
*mumbles to himself for a moment* Oh! I know!... Except that I can't write...
>>
>>44305133
Navigators don't hold rank within the guard, the Enginseer was right. They only have some leverage within the navy. Though you better not piss one off no matter who you are.

>>44304952
Ey, don't worry about it. You did your best.
>>
>>44305145

>Before they were interrupted

And there was something I was hoping you could help me with. Two, actually. There is an undercover Inquisitor in our ranks I am trying to make contact with. If any of your men tell you anything about it, be sure to pass it on.

The other? Well, there's a young boy. An Orphan. He wants to go to the Schola Progenitorum and become a Detective like I used to be. Thing is, he needs recommendations.

>Pulls out a sheet of paper containing his recommendation on it.

If you could go over this and make this kid's Emperor's day wish come true it would mean a lot to the both of us.
>>
>>44305188

I meant to say help me make this kid's Emperor's day wish come true by appending your signature at the end
>>
>>44305133
I dunno. Where are you headed?
>>
>>44305145
When the guard rolled in the Iron Warriors just didn't have enough men to man the guns. They were outnumbered so they hid behind their slaves against the guard, slaves who were ludicrously murdered without a second guess.

It was just as I feared. For the guard they where just cultists charging at them, for the slaves they were just running towards their salvation before being gunned down by them.

I... disguised myself as a guardswoman, I disguised my scar and carried on with the guard, I didn't get to shoot a single round to the "cultists" though. I couldn't bear myself to it...

There were children there... Marked children. Crying and scared, when the marines were done for, the regimental colonel grouped the surviving "cultists" of the assault and ordered his men to finish them off...

I had never seen a child die until that day. A civillian child I mean, I had seen some of my fellow acolytes back in the temple not make it when we were just younglings... but this was completely different...

>She places her hand over her right eye.

There's not a single night I don't see their faces when I go to sleep. Scared and unsure.
>>
>>44305148
Just tell me then

>>44305187
It only matters slightly. We're a regiment that is restocking it's supplies. We're asking the depot to restock us and they can't say no to high ranking signatures. Granted Gary is still a Sargent. I got myself, the Quartermaster and the Majors.

>>44305256
To York Depot to get some more supplies. It's the duty of the world we stop on to rearm the regiments of the Emperor. By the way, I'm Lieutenant Jackson, and you are?
>>
>>44305312
Shit, forgot to switch my name on mobile.
I'm Eta XXXII, Vindicare assassin. I'm here to assist the regiment.
>>
>>44305188
>Alex has regained some of his joviality at Greely's kind words for his children, as well as their men.
The first is....I'm not sure I'd be able to help with that, unless he reveals himself.
The second, I can certainly do.
>Alex places the the document on the table, where himself and Arthur both sign it and offer the kid a smile.
>.
>.
>.
>.
>Alex opens the door and waves Greely in.
Agent Greely, it seems this really is your Emperor's Day after all, does some sort of Lieutenant, perhaps with Medical training ring a bell to you?

>>44305292
Lass, remember, my last deployment as part of the 42nd was to a Refugee camp. You know....you know how that ended. I share your pain...come here..
>Alice opens her arms to offer LIX a hug, but doesn't step forward, although it looks like she -wants- to.
>>
>>44305312
I thought we were just going to the manor! I want no part in swindling the praetorians out of their gear! Why can't you ask simply?

Rupert! Do something.
>>
>>44305340

Jackson? Yes, I know of him.
>>
>>44305366
Please do not use my full name like that.

And we're not swindling anyone. Just don't sign if you don't want to have anything to do with it.
>>
>>44305338
Cool, now we have one of each. Hop aboard. Where are you headed?

>>44305366
We're not swindling them. What kind of man do you take me for? This is a standard thing, we're just adding in a few extra gifts to the mix.
>>
>>44305340
>LIX turns around, there's an Iron Warriors symbol over an eight pointed star marked over her right eye, effectively leaving it blind.
>Almost crying.
I didn't just want you to see this... so early... But I'd feel like I'm lying to you if I'd hide it.
>>
>>44305424
Nowhere specific, I should probably be heading back to the manor now, though. I need to talk to Greely.
>>
>>44305372
>Alex takes a breath and starts talking.
He just tried to swindle my Guard Detachment out of a Land Rover and York Depot out of a list of equipment with an invalid signature, when that didn't work he pulled a Rosette and threatened one of my Captains.
Captain did the smart thing, let him go, put York on high alert and then contacted me.
Captain is fairly certain that the Rosette doesn't belong to him, and Wilson has never steered me wrong before. So you may be dealing with a Heretic, guilty of murdering an Inquisitor.
>Alex pauses and pulls a pack of Lho's from one of his desk drawers, taking one himself and offering another to Greely.
He'll be detained at the gate. You can visit him there or we can have them all flown here, as it pleases you.

>>44305445
>Alice steps forward and pulls LIX into a soft hug.
That mark doesn't make you any less Loyal lass, but....you might not want to wear it around regardless. I and my family will understand....the others....not so much...
>>
>>44305445
>passing by
Throne above... why didn't you see your temple's medicae? A simple plastic surgery will take care of that...

Sorry I passed by just then, I'll forget what I saw.

Yup, that's very Iron Warriors to do it like that...

Extra gifts?
Eeeeh can we please go back to the manor? I didn't doll myself up like that to go around weaponry shopping. And god knows there isn't much to doll up.
>>
>>44305504
>Accepts the hug.
I just feel like I lie to myself everytime I "correct" a scar, everytime I remove a mark.

I understand that I'm going to have to hide it through polymorphine, but I wanted you to at least know, I didn't want to lie to you.
>>
>>44305526
Ugh. Seriously? That looks like the shit I see when I stare into the warp.
assuming you produced a picture
>>
>*pulls into the York Depot*
I'm going to find a quartermaster to fill these requests then we can head back.
>walks into the supply offices to find someone to talk to.

>>44305519
Not that this isn't a good lighthearted moment from your character, but I had closed and locked the door behind Alice when she came...
>>
>>44305504

>Takes the Lho stick and turns to the kid.

"You know what the penalty is for impersonating an inquisitor, right? For abusing the trust the Imperium puts in it's most loyal servants?"

"Death." The boy says, unflinching.

"Even on Emperor's Day." Greely adds.

"Come with me, boy. If you're going to be a Detective, you need to see this."

>Greely turns to Lord Wellesley

Thank you for your assistance in this matter. A shame it had to happen so close to Emperor's day. We'll be waiting at the gate.
