I don't know if anyone else does this, but I like to use lego instead of d&d figures. Here's all my NPC's from my Rise of the the Runelords game.

First up, the PC's, Lor and Mordos. Gestalt Witch/Barbarian and Oracle/Paladin, respectively.

and finally, Karzoug. There were a couple of others that I used but they were deconstructed over time to I could reuse parts for different figures.
>>
There sure are many figure variants nowadays.
>>

the collectible minifigure line is awesome. I've been looking at the new series set for february and there's a sweet knight and a queen that I'll probably pick up. One of the more lackluster series in a while, but those figures make up for it.
>>
I liked the idea and wanted to do it at first, but even with all my Childhood Lego I simply don't have enough coherent stuff to make enough interesting minifigs, not to mention monsters.
And with Lego Prices being what they aren, it's a lot cheaper to just buy and convert from wargaming and rpg mini manufacturers rather than shelling out for Lego and try to build a collection.
As for brickling? I really can't be arsed to pick through thousands of parts to order up for a few minis.
>>
These look great!
>>
>>44288305
if you know what to look for, the collectible minifigure range is where to get the good stuff. being able to feel out the packs guarantees what you get and you can get a lot of good pieces.
>>
>>44288356
I didn't realize there was a legoquest up on the board right now. how on earth did you do all the lights?
>>
>>44288658
They aren't exactly cheap, though, and at least around here they aren't abundant either. Not to mention there's no way to get the older ones, other than ordering online.
>>
>>44288924
fair enough, I live in a decently sized city and most of the places that sell them have the last 3 or so sets released. I'll usually spend about 50$ per series and have all the ones that I want. It sucks about the older ones though; there's a scottish bagpiper that goes online for like 25$ which is crazy and I wish I could just get the 4$ bag and find him myself
>>
>>44289138
The problem is, a bag around here is about 4,50€, and for that price per mini you get a lot in the wargaming world. I think it's great if you already have a lot of Lego to build on top of that, but if you're like me and already have a bunch of figures from Descent and the old DnD games, investing into more regular minis to expand the collection seems to be the better decision.
I still long for them Lego, though.
>>
>>44289270
In terms of my money, that's about 6$ a pop which I'd agree, is rather steep. At least there's always garage sales. I usually find some good stuff there.
>>
>>44285336
Love it, my first DM used lego to work through encounters and your figures match up pretty well. Where's nualias claw?
>>
I'm with the other guy. Looked into lego, above what I wanted to spend. I ended up just making tokens out of washers.

Don't use a matt/minis anymore though.
>>
>>44290091
IIRC there's a piece that kind of resembles a clawed-katar looking like thing that snaps on overtop the hand but I can't remember what set it's in and I only discovered it after Nualia was long dead.
>>
Isn't there a website where you can just pick out a bunch of LEGO parts and have them sent to your place?
I personally just love minifigures, I've always liked playing with them and imagining their lives in our world.

I have one of these that I use to make the fluorescent pieces glow, and my camera has a low-light setting that I can tweak to make the glow stand out more.

Did somebody say Brikwars?
