In Pathfinder, there's this racial feat for Goblins...
>Benefit: If you are struck by a melee weapon you can try to convert some or all of that damage into movement that sends you off in an uncontrolled bouncing roll. To do so, you must make an Acrobatics check (DC = 5 + the damage dealt from the attack) as an immediate action. If you succeed in this check, you take no damage from the actual attack but instead convert that damage into movement with each point equating to 1 foot of movement.
Looking for some kind of equivalent in d&d 3.5 but can't find anything. Is there something similar?

Because there are two ways this could go:
>Weak attacks
You make the check easily, and save yourself from a pittance of damage. If you have space to get knocked back. And don't get knocked behind the squishier party members. And don't get knocked into an environmental hazard.
>Strong attacks
You fail the check. You take full damage. Feat is useless.

And while I'm not crazy familiar with Pathfinder, I know in 3.5 that if you choose to focus on a skill it's pretty easy to get it to absurd levels.

Be that as it may, it's not that hard to get acrobatics up to crazy levels. Maybe with stronger attacks you would fail, but you can succeed as well. And you only have to succeed on one, and you're out of their range, given that they are melee focused

If they hit something, I think so. Probably wrong, but if you hit something before the "flight" is over, you take damage like you were falling.

It's 1d4 damage, flat, if your move is interrupted.
It really seems more like funny flavor for an opponent than something actually meant to be very useful.
Then again, I don't know. if you're a rogue with really high acrobatics, you have a slightly chance of negating an attack that might kill you, while also moving away.

That's pretty much the main reason I love this feat. For me rogues are my go to class, and this solves two problems in one. Reduce damage taken and gtfo. Works for me

Maybe that's the plan.
Maybe I'll do just that, play a fat goblin that finds a way to curse himself to ride, forever, on the wizard's shoulders.
Forever. He could piss off a djinn and be like 'you better not make me ride on that wizard's shoulders for eternity! That would be the worst!'
And a DM, one of particular meta thinking, might enjoy that.
