I’m trying to calculate some stuff in AnyDice. I’m designing a dice mechanic based around throwing a number of dice and keeping the highest, which is fairly easy to output, BUT I'd want to add a parameter where if two dice show the same result (i.e a pair) then you count both of them as a single die in terms of what you keep. Would someone know if this can be coded, and if so how?

Sadly, I have no idea. I tend to do the tricky stuff like that in Excel, which, granted, can be a bit time consuming.

Not sure about anydice, but I use R to deal with all of my rolling + weird mechanic edits.

>R
I'm trying to google that but I can't find keywords that yield any logical results

Maybe they meant to type Roll20?

Or R-olling a Bunch of Dice and seeing what happens. Or maybe Ralph, who is very good at math.

A momentary highjack, but would anyone know how to replicate Twilight 2013's dieroll mechanic in anydice?

R is a programming language.

oh, that'd make sense

no problem, I should've made this an AnyDice general from the start. Unfortunately I'm just learning to use it and can't really help you :(

What is Twilight 2013's dice mechanic?

Does AnyDice allow for if statements? If not you'd be better off using a programming language, even using something like vbscript would allow you to accomplish your goal.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
