I made it so trees can be cut down with axes or a chainsaw in prep of some bigger stuff, same thing planned for some rock decals or something similar

Yesterday was fun.

I was a Assistant. First i checked if we had a HoP or someone to give me mining access.

Of course not.

I got a bit frustrated and thought "fuck this objective" because i'm a lazy Bum.

So i watched some spaghetti-western in the bar until Nobody inspired me to give it a try.
I didn't want to ask the Miner straight for 50 bars of plasma, so i went to the scientist i had to protect. Creeped a bit around in front of his Desk and talked with him. Then i made a bargain- he gets syndi-tech, IF he gets me the plasma. So he bothered the miners and i kept close to him.

After another eternity we lost contact to the miners and i got an idea.
He made a Ripley, i gave him some traitor stuff in return and i went to mine the plasma by my own. While i was desperately looking for plasma ore, (and stumbling over dead naked miners) the station went dark and got overrun by angry snack-machines. I made it back to the smelter got 43 bars of Plasma and raged a bit about it ,because scientist buddy was under attack. I fought my way back to him, while looting every single piece of plasma in Science, while protecting my scientist buddy from vendors and the fucked up environment. Of course i got only 47 pieces at the end.

While trying to find a way into medbay, i nearly died in Hydroponics thanks to a gang of nanomeds that jumped out of chemistry. Already thought i was dead for good, since my scientist buddy wasn't showing up. To my surprise a botanist survived the hellhole and brought me to medbay. She could patch me up, but i still was close to crit. And the nanomeds were either empty or angry.

Scientist buddy was in crit too, and when we shoved him inside the sleeper, the power went out. And he died inside. So i was there, going to fail my mission. Without tools, and heavily injured.

After searching some corpses i found enough tools to get the spare ID, and the captains gun. The nuclear power cell was enough to power the bridge and call the shuttle.
then i ripped open the medbays apc,powered it with the Nuclear cell, took my dead scientist buddy, cloned him and brought him to the shuttle. Nearly forgot to pick up the plasma from virology, where i got a annoying virus.

Chloral is severely nerfed on d20; it'll knock you out fast, but 15u won't keep you down for very long at all. I've had shitter chemists tag me with a syringe thinking that's all they need to win, only to be robusted maybe 10 seconds later when I'm back upright again. Sleep toxin takes much longer to act, but when you do go down you stay down, usually for at least a minute.

bullet projectiles and the bullets themselves don't have enough properties to make them diverse enough. If the inventory system were fleshed out giving each item weight and size instead of a w_class you could have something like plastic casings that were less durable and couldn't be reloaded into rounds again all the time but were lighter overall, but as it is now bullets don't have any properties beyond what kind of projectile they spawn, w_class, gp and m amount, and icon.

Heart transplant surgery is very complex. But if just want to remove the heart with no concern for the victim/patient (like with brain extraction), then we have two possible methods:
Cutting up through the abdomen and tearing out the heart from below
Cracking open and butter flying the rib cage, then cutting out the heart directly.

If a player decides to actually do something interesting on their own, the best case I've seen is sec getting confused and shooting them for misbehaving. The worst case is a pair of nondescript shitters latching on to the new idea and using it as an excuse to lynch someone else who tries to play along. It usually gets ignored because everyone knows the next assistant to notice them will see they're trying to stand out this round and find themself enough guns to invade an entire department solo.

When an admin does it (besides just Freeman playing a random name and picking a fight with the first person he sees, getting the rough draft of his dindu nuffin greentext ready), they have access to a panel of tools to polish the experience, and people usually actually play along, because as fa/tg/uys they know the DM is cooking something up. Obviously I'm in favor of something like that, because it distinctly doesn't go from its announcement over radio to "hey can i gib this guy he tried to do clownmart/rage cage/help people he must be a traitor"

Maybe I should just learn to make bombs. Those are usually fun no matter what anyone was doing.

Personally, I love Rhodok mass infantry/archers, with a side of Sarranid cavalry and Nord elites.
As long as I have my infantry their cavalry can suck my balls, and my crossbow men will whittle down their infantry just enough so that even the Rhodoks have no problems taking them out.
The Nords are only there for sieges and the Sarranids allow men to do some flanking in hairy situations.
The only hard thing is to find reinforcements once you are in operation sarrani-storm because all their villages are raided, and the nords are too far away. You will have to make due with Rhodoks only, which sucks.

I've seen singularities mailed to centcomm, supersoldier projects to create the perfect combat monster, attempts to colonise the derelict, disposals system highways, the eternal quest for 32 dev bombs, and more besides. Players do plenty of interesting things without getting busted by security or requiring admin intervention, which makes your implication that nothing fun happens on the server without it being an event blatantly false.

Aww man. I remember last time I played dorf properly was back in summer.
It was a friday night, and with friday night I mean saturday 5:30AM. The sun was already rising and I could smell my neighbor brewing coffe already.
The station was in a desolate condition. Shit was everywhere, bears had killed almost everyone who was AFK, atmos was fubar, but medbay was top notch 100% up and running perfecly. 20 seconds in a sleeper and some meds mainlined would get anyone back up from anything.
Since we already raided quite a lot of ruskie bunkers we had a boatload of mosins, and a crapton of shotguns. When we heard that a carp horde was on it's way we turned every scrap of metal into ammo and stored it next to the airlock. I dragged out a plamsa container and an oxygen container and parked them at the very edge of our perimeter.
As shit continued to hit the fan and we began to run out of ammo/meds some guy in an exosuit shot the tanks and a massive wave of fire burned everything on the map. It was glorious, but not effective at all. The oxygen was burned up quickly and what we were left with were small fires everywhere that did more harm to the station than to the carp.
Anyone else still remember that, the memory just came back to me and I got the urge to share it.

Well normally centcom is just kinda an admin playground, or a place to prep for events, or a place to test things for bugs. It's not meant to matter.
However, for shits and giggles for the end round killing spree/centcom firing range, Freeman added in a guns and an ammo vendor. These are both adminbus, so it's not normally a problem, but when people get to centcom, they can steal that, and then surprise there's three SAWs and plenty of ammo on the station.
Shit like that is what'd happen. There's a few mineral lockers in the mechbay (don't know really why we have one when we have no other RP things which I'd prefer much more) which someone can steal for loadsa minerals.
The area's power is not unsimulated, there's actually a few magical SMES units, which produce infinite power, which are another source of fun. Along that line, the SMES for the vault is on centcom.
The wizard den/nuke ops base is on centcom's level, and someone can get into there somehow, despite the walls being unsimulated. There used to be an old glitch where you could use the staff of doors to make a hole in the wall. I think it was nappist who took advantage of this, first heading over to nuke ops, then over to centcom, before arriving on the station, as a wizard, in full adminbus gear. Pretty sure he wasn't an admin at the time. This specific glitch has also been fixed, by the way.
If you want another first hand account of what happens when players get ahold of adminbus gear, ask Freeman about the time he broke into ASTV's vault which was on the station's Z level, which sounds dumb as hell.
It's not something to be terrified about, it's like "oh congrats you've figured it out, you win this round" type thing, it's when they start to do it every single round that it becomes a problem.
Me, personally, if it doesn't become a total meta issue, I'll just start buffing up Centcom's defenses in game (spawning in guards, adding more traps, etc.)
