You can argue about how "appealing" their art is, but the technical skill is objective.

Full bodied art and non recognizable characters are both important to good character art for what I would think are obvious reasons.

You sound like you're purposefully attempting to find fault in that design because you're salty. It's a perfectly competent design that suggests a lot about the setting and a good amount about the character while not being over designed garbage like >>44184767 or generic MC bland archetype like >>44184778 and still having a clear and decently individual design unlike >>44184991.

Not going to lie, I really don't like the art direction for Awakening compared to the older series. As a matter of fact, I distinctly hate how they've brought back the ability to grind. A shame, because it was arguably one of the most ambitious FE titles in recent years.

The ability to grind has been in games before Awakening. Pretty much all the way back to 4.

As for the art direction? I kind of agree. Sacred Stones had my favorite style, as far as character design and sprites, but nothing can be worse than the Tellius games for me.

Still, Fates has vastly improved over Awakening's designs, imo.

If you abused Colosseum, yeah; I suppose the ability to replay maps is just an acknowledgement of that practice by the devs, but it also removes the meta-game aspects of managing XP and choosing whether to prioritize character growth over effective strategy. I hate to use the phrase 'dumbing down' (the game can still be plenty difficult even if you grind), but it definitely removed a degree of depth from the game. Just my two cents since we seem to be sharing that in-between hating ourselves for posting weeb art. Speaking of which.

One might consider that if the samurai was fending off saviors then his natural reaction would be to take the woman hostage.
