If it wasn't Magic, or another existing card game with a fresh coat of paint, maybe. He would have to bring something to the table other than just the theme.

There is more to traditional games than tg anon. I'm sure there are plenty of historical card games/historical games that feature using cards listed on BGG or wherever.

I mean, sure, it could be the best game this side of religion, but a lot of the things that make historical games appealing probably don't translate to mechanics and representation as simple as cards.
