Are Wraithlords cooler than Dreadnoughts, /tg/?
>>44001690
Of course.
Better mechanically, too.
>>44001690
>Are Wraithlords cooler than Dreadnoughts, /tg/?
Very much so. Dreadnaghts are so uncool that in 2nd Ed Draeadnoghtes were called "Space Marine Wraithlords" but later they had to be called Dreddnaoughtse instead because they were nowhere near as cool as Wraithlords.

I always wondered. Is each one of these things a soulstone, or is it just decor?

>Are Wraithlords cooler than Dreadnoughts, /tg/?
Yep. Dreads are pretty bad aesthetically and fluff-wise. Give me more anything else any day of the week.
Then again, I've always preferred Fantasy's aesthetics.

I'm pretty sure eldar crystal and stone tech is not limited to the soulstones, no reason to wear multiple soulstones too, unless you're aiming for a communion with the dead, but that's unlikely to be as common as multiple stones on a single model are

I guess that makes kinda sense, though 40k's obsession with GEEEEAAAR ignoring this facet (no pun intended) always weirded me out a bit.
>>44003070
I might have read something about it beeing a farseer thing, just like exarch armors beeing filled with the soulstones of all former wearers.
Not sure though, it's just a fazy memory.
The thing is, Dreadnoughts don't look as cool. They're boxy and clunky, and it's hard to imagine them as more than a wobbly weapons platform. They don't seem as dignified as they're supposed to be - the remnants of a Space Marine who was just strong enough to avoid death and lives on past the point where he should have died.
The Contemptor looks a lot better in a lot of ways, particularly in that it's humanoid and has articulated digits. That is what you would want to be shoved into if you got the chance.
Only if your a xenos loving faggot.

In the old day DeffDreads were calls Dreadnaught, Ork dreadnaught (wraithlords too,)
2nd edition confirmed for best 'naught
>>44004134
I disagree, I loved the old coffin-naughts because they looked like what they were. I think the old design better suited the differences in design between the Imperium and Eldar. The Imperium is boxy and hard as fuck, the Elder are slender and graceful.

>>44003860
Nope. Farseers are stuck on the path, but they aren't an amagamation of the souls of former seers. That's unique to warrior Exarchs.
The Farseer's DOOOOOM is slowly turning into crystal. Eventually they root themselves in the sculpture garden of former Farseers and evacuate their soul into the infinity circuit.

I actually liked the older 1st edition Dreadnoughts that were just battlesuits anyone could use. A lot more customizable, and much more fitting of the parody style that made 40k unique.

The answer is literally never no.

I like them both. Same with Deff dreads and Killa Kans. each fits with their own army well and look nice.
Course, I play Tyranids so my opinion might not mean much in this discussion.

Wwawawait a minute here, so old dreadnaughts = centurion armor?
>>44007648
Yes. But when things had to become serious business and grimdark, they became suits for dead Space Marines only not even any other faction.

The problem is that after a point it gets so big, the eldar design just starts to look ugly. A distinct lack of variety that makes even the slender curves look boring and flat, especially when you've sized them up so much and they're no longer slender.
Nice choice on the craftworld, though.

No. Wraithlords are pretty cool, but Wraithlords don't have conversion beamers or vulkite weapons.
