I got a few for ya OP. As for your question, I tend to play meek male characters so there isn't much I can tell you. Just keep gender seperate from personality, you know? Otherwise you risk being dumbed down to not!Mulan or something of the like. Be the person first with this as kind of a side detail if you want your table to care.

I once played a campaign where my character was a little kid. Everyone thought it was a boy because she had short hair, was intent on becoming a knight of renown and stature and was always generally ungirly. After 2 years irl and about 10-15yrs in game, she revealed herself when sacrificing herself to save the party from a dracolich. Was a pretty great character.

Currently playing a reverse trap but it's not totally fair because she has minor shape shifting powers so can very actually appear male, as long as no one removes her chest bindings or pulls down her pants and looks. The only real problems have been when women were interested in "him" and he hasn't be able to go all the way for obvious reasons. The farthest he got was drunk making out and foreplay with another drunk woman, but they both passed out. Normally he's able to excuse it by saying he has a girl he's interested in back home or wherever else.

They're a pretty good read, and you dont get the feeling "Im just reading shit i've already watched" (which i had with spice and wolf), since the anime is a pretty liberal adaptation.

I'm currently playing an intentionally androgynous cyborg in a cyberpunk game. The character's only real exposed flesh and blood is his head and neck, with his entire body being replaced with cybernetics.

So to enhance the creepy factor of a character like that I have his face and body be intentionally difficult to assess as either male or female.

Character basically looks like a mix of Jaron and Yelena from the most recent Deus Ex.
