Post art of large or scary creatures protecting or being friendly towards tiny babby humens.
Not really a monster, but yeah...

This thread makes me happy.
>>43852507
Not sure which one's the monster.
>>43847744
Note how the second robot is dead and decapitated next to her while the first one has fallen to pieces out of depression.
Truly, trulydelicious.
>>43855980
I totally want this to be a thing for my next D&D game or something...
Ok, so not really, but it can look that way.

Gray Renders are the moest of all monsters.
>>43856344
Cute.

I derailed an evil campaign by being a guardian to a little girl. It wasn't what the DM intended, but the group and I all had tons of fun
>>43855791
Huh. I wonder, are skellingtons immune to petrification?
>>43858463
You weren't that CE bard that redeemed the whole party by stalking some little girl before slitting her throat were you?
Eh, meh. Bump.

I remember that, an it was ice cold, m8...

I like to think the bear is the villain in this
>"drop your weapon, assassin!"
>>43858597
no no, I was playing what was essentially a living suit of armour. I was made by an evil wizard to guard him while he worked, but I outlasted him. I was expected to be evil, the girl was meant for me to kill, but instead I protected her.
>>43861296
heh heh

... You didn't answer the question there buddy.

"a monster. A nice one, an especially nice one to have around when you're in trouble, but a monster just the same, without any human foolishness like love in him."
Been on a real Hammett kick lately. I know it's been done but a hard boiled robot detective just works so well.

>I am Golem 6b
>I was denied the right to fight in battle because I was defective
>I am defective because I care more about life than service
>Because of what I am my maker can not destroy me
>And I will not destroy myself
>So he sent me away
>I found a clearing in the forests
>With my feet of clay I flattened the land and removed more trees
>I spent time gathering seeds from across the forest for my little square
>I have a garden
I fucking love this thread.
This is exactly what I love most in fantasy esque pictures.
I'd like to thank all of you.

>>43869437
Fuck me, talk about evil.
Anyone have that one with the monster wearing the mask and it had a sad ending with no dialogue? At the ending the mask broke and the monster was reptilian.
>>43847265
Oh, the costumary volleyball game among the ruins of our failed creators. With a meat ball this time too, neat.

This entire series.
>>43871007
i think i remember that. what was it called?
>>43870441
Okay is that a hallucination or what? Also rate it before I google it.
>>43871196
Unsounded. The art is the best I've ever seen for any webcomic ever and the story along with the character development makes it the only webcomic I'd ever give a 10/10 rating to.
>>43871348
Nope, it's some world where technology is super advanced and they made a super smart bear or some shit
>>43871432
How would you rate it. Use as many words as possible (genre would be appreciated).
>>43871007
Loos neat.
I think I'll check it out.
>>43871703
*Looks
>>43871371
thanks m8, gonna read it tonight.
>>43871584
I wouldn't be able to rate it very well honestly as I've only read the first few chapters so my opinion would be skewed. But what I can say from what I read is if you've read other stuff by the same guy (Knights of Sidonia and the like) you more or less get the same deal with a different setting and a different antagonist, which in this case seem to be this android-ish machine cult harvesting humans for whatever reason, or possibly trying to kill off the humans, I'm honestly not sure
I'm actually currently playing a Warforged that might wind up like this.
>Hardly sapient, more robot than anything.
>Loudly announces "PRIMARY DIRECTIVE: LOCATE AND DEFEND [REDACTED]" pretty much every ten minutes.
>Giant, giant bronze beast running of a magical steam engine.
>A little bit of interrogation reveals he's a bodyguard construct, designed to defend a single person.
>Was inactive for around 200 years, found covered in burn marks by the party.
>Follows the party in the hopes of repairing himself (This is how we explain leveling, once I gain enough EXP we do a scene where I get upgraded to the next level)The war forged is actually sapient, years of inactivity tearing its humanity away. Which it is slowly regainingThe conciousness inside the construct is the soul of its creator. A young nobleman that wanted to rescue his lady love from a local warlord. His primary directive is to defend her, or any of her descendants.
>>43872506
Is there a artificer in your party as well?
>>43872531
Yeah, he's a dorfy dorf friend that's trying to invent firearms. He's accessed a log in the repairs that revealed a little more about the Primary Directive, and decided to keep me maintained to help me fulfill it, as a sort of respect to the creator.
>>43871348
It a genetically enhanced bear with a transplanted brain.
As for rating, 8/10 if you like cyberpunk mixed with body horror and mind boggling scale in everything.
Such as hitting projectiles in orbit from the ground, orbital tethers and4.8 billion kilometers objects.
Anything with the little one imitating/acting like the scary guardian?
>>43874836
>>43875898
That's fucking adorable.

>What're we doin' today pa?
>Well, today you will accompany me on my daily duties!
>Oh! Oh yay! What're we gonna do first?!
>Well, to start with we shall check the list. It tells us who we will visit.
>I always knew your job let you meet all kinda of people! I bet everyone loves to see you pa!
>Oh. Well, some of them do, some of them... Well, some of them aren't always in a good mood. Why... Why don't you come with me and I'll show you the people we get to meet.
>>43861256
that's absolutely adorable, and a little bit sad
Bimp bamp bump.
>>43869437
That is how you make a bbeg everyone. Take note.
What makes these creatures want to be protectors? I don't understand it.
>>43886843
It can be a variety of things, anon. One of the most appealing things about these kinds of pictures is that it invites you to create a narrative.
Maybe they're protecting the descendants of their creators (or simply humans/sapients in general) out of loyalty or design.
Maybe they lost their own child long ago, without seeing them grow up, and see the child they're protecting as a substitute.
Maybe they're living off of the child's mental/spiritual energy like a magical symbiote or even parasite.
Maybe the child simply represents an innocence and sweetness that's unattainable to the guardian, but they protect the child if only to experience it vicariously.
If you can't tell, I'm a real sucker for this kind of thing, and often enough the reason is as unique as the guardian.
Pic related is a good example, the reason being that the girl's grandma (who's a spitting image of her) was nice to every creature, even the scary ones.
>>43847265
Another robot and baby bump.
>>43871371
i read it until the rape happened, feels so wrong reading it when its so graphic, hint at it or something, not full blown horrible FATAL
>>43888186
Wasn't it attempted rape that didn't really happen or i remember wrong?
Also dead dad best dad.
>>43889276
I haven't given it a reread lately, but the only one I remember is most recently Starfish tried on Sette and almost immediately got castrated for it.
>>43889332
That's the one I was asking about, yes.
Can remember any other cases too.
These threads always seem to have a massive concentration of lolis.
>>43889407
Think that's mostly just because a monster protecting a kid is more adorable than a monster protecting an adult.
>>43874367
Didn't Blame! have genetically enhanced bears too?
