Bastard is a manga, anon.
motherfucking slayers. Tired of grimdark? Here is DnD: the anime, with compelling characters and a nice story in a fantasy world where wizards are OP as fuck and fighters eat shit
worth mentioning that it could be considered one of the few anime that the english VA is better than original
>>43655803
That's exactly what it was made to parody. I doubt it.
>>43655782
Dunno, don't care.
It's good, that's what matters.
>>43655803
Saitama has never in the history of the manga done anything remote to a power-up. The closest he got was actually winding up for a punch instead of just the stick-out-my-hand way he usually defeats enemies. He calls it his Serious Series.

Here, this is a good start. It is a slice of life manga with a lot of good /tg/ resource and materials.
Vinland Saga should be up on xreader too. It is a Viking manga playing out mostly in medieval England and is concerned with how King Cnut the Great came to power in the country.
http://mangafox.me/manga/otoyomegatari/
Otoyomegatari, literally meaning A Bride's Story, takes place in early modern era Silk Road, giving us the story of a steppe nomad clan at the dusk of their age.

Hollow fields is pretty good. Similar to rosario vampire in that a normal person gets sent to a spooky school. In this case its a school for mad scientists and the bottom student gets sent to a windmill and is never seen again. I highly recommend it if you like genius: the transgression.
Innocent and the new sequal/spinoff dance between being fabulously foppish and brutally gory. On the one hand this is what the main character looks like...

>>43664915
Another thing I'd recommend if you want mad science is Narbonic. It's not technically a manga, but other people were talking about webcomics in here.

Two that I recommend very very much are
Ran and the Gray World, and The Bride of the Magician.
Not really /tg/ related unfortuantely but they have many elements i'm sure that some here would appreciate
Ran's mother would also be a fun characer to put into your campaigns, just don't let your players play her. Spell caster so powerful that she has to be careful because otherwise they unconsciously alter reality.

>Ctrl+F 'Hunter x Hunter'

/tg/ pls
Shin Angyo Onshi
>>43667656
I hate Gamble Fish and No Game No Life, but I don't have any constructive things to say about the latter.
In Gamble Fish's case though, the gambles just became silly towards the end of the manga and they got really reliant on total luck games. Kakegurui is new, but despite the front cover of anime girl bait I think it's a lot better for what it has than Gamble Fish ever had. I'd check out /a/'s favourite gambling series Akagi and Kaiji too, if you need some meatier reads.
>>43661501
Guilded Age and Erfworld are also amazing.
>>43667670
God, Shin Angyo Onshi is my favourite manga ever. I shamelessly pilfer from it all the time when working on campaigns. I stole the tiger brother story entirely once, and I give my players access to pop-up guns in every campaign.
Still trying to figure out a way to run a villain like Aji Tae successfully. Balancing omnipotence has proven extremely difficult. I know people are really into grey villains, or the relateable evil, but Aji Tae really opened my eyes to how great an irredeemable monster could be.

It's bizarre because he eventually got rid of most of the Harem elements and just turned into into some Dark Action manga. Also he made the characters interesting.
It has a significant female following which I always thought was bizarre.

Dungeon Meshi is fantastic. Here's hoping for an official English release.

I think it is more Lena had a much better VA in the dub at least that is what people tell me
Personally I only saw it subbed

Tower of Druaga/ Druaga no Tou.
>>43675214
New chapter when?
>>43668293
of course it is matter of opinion, but I think the english VA is more charming
Sense of Values of Wine, by fuuga
Quick Start is the most /tg/ of manga.
>>43659363
I love OPM but it's not "/tg/ approved" in the slightest. It's just popular right now because of the anime. A year ago it rarely if ever appeared in these threads.
Zetman is pretty gud. Gets full retard in later volumes though and the translations died for some reason even though its only one and a half volume left since it finished last year.
Still some gorgeous artwork, interesting monster design and Masakazu Katsura is a legend at drawing girl butt.

Bone is the fucking shit, my nigga'.
Where my OP bros? Good off-the-wall setting for roleplaying and strategy games if there ever was one over t'chere.
>>43676708
One Piece is kinda slow and boring from a normal view but from a Story Telling perspective I LOVE it. It's just been so well thought out and planned it's incredible.
>>43667746
well, that's genos's job.
To power up over and over again in as cool a way as possible.
That sonofabitch should be finding dr. light pods eventually.
>>43667492
It's pretty old though. Is there really anyone who hasn't read it already?
>>43667508
>Ran and the Gray World
Is that Wizards of Waverly Place but with incestuous pedophilia?
>The Bride of the Magician.
Is that the one with the Bretonic mythology and skull-headed sorcerer?

At the beginning, Gamble Fish seems like it could be good if it overcomes its flaws. Then it goes to shit.
>>43667756
Maou no Hajimekata is good too, it you don't mind gratuitous sex and nudity.
>>43668123
I feel like the webcomic is a comedy with action and the manga and anime are action with comedy, if that makes sense.

Just because it's good doesn't make it /tg/ related.
>>43675214
>Here's hoping the series ceases to be available online and all popularity dies
Why?
>>43677362
Honestly both of those descriptions sound good to me.
>>43677298
Berserk is pretty old, too. Point?
Not a lot of fa/tg/uys read comics, either. I don't think anyone I know who plays RPGs has read it.
Thanks for giving me an excuse to post more Bone though.
>>43655973
Would be better if it was called "Tower of Betrayal," or "Tower that people want to get to the top of for no reason"
>>43676988
Eh, I think that's just Dressrosa and FI Island leaving a taste in people's mouths. I've only been a serial read since halfway through the Whitebeard War, and most of the material has my interest. Maybe One Piece is worse in this respect that other manga? I don't follow anything else.
>>43678249
>tfw you will never be with best girl
I've been reading Nanatsu no Taizai, or the seven deadly sins, and it's pretty enjoyable.
Gash is very /tg/, between the development and learning new spells, to combination and strategy attacks, it's pretty amazing.
>>43661655
It is in my book. Durarara is a good anime to check out for anyone. The manga's pretty good too.

Fantasy shit :
Berserk
Bastard!!
Ubel Blatt
Vinland Saga
Claymore
Dungeon Meshi
Future shit :
Battle Angel Alita
Blame! and Biomega
Dorohedoro
Gray
Ghost in the Shell
Mardock Scramble
Everyone else is a shitter.

I think steel ball run would work pretty good as a campaign.
But JoJo's bizarre adventure is a fun read anyhow.
>>43686896
>a campaign based on Steel ball run
jesus christ, you gave an awesome idea
>>43667819
Hellsing works a lot better in animated form though, seeing as it's visuals are its greatest asset and the actual writing kinda sucks....
>>43686620
WOWOWOW, HOLD ON! Dorohedoro is /tg/-approved? And Ubel Blatt as well? Ok, Dorohedoro I can understand, but Ubel Blatt? Been ages since I read it. Last I remember Main Elf Dude had turned that one dying chick into an elf as well. How's the manga doing now? Is it good? :)
>>43675409
I am in fucking love with how the guy draws faces.
That vaguely melancholic look he gets just by using the eyes. Plus, he's one of the few artists that knows how to use silence in his stories.
Oh, and I guess you can fap to it too, I guess.
>>43687027
It's still not good, but it what universe did you think a reincarnation shota elf swordsman who fucks all the women in a fantasy setting full of rape WOULDN'T be /tg/ approved?
Ubel Blatt is like /tg/ on steroids with just enough /d/ for everyone.
>>43677298
I have up to volume 9 and have read part of the way through 2 but I haven't finished it yet.
>>43687040
>a reincarnation shota elf swordsman who fucks all the women in a fantasy setting full of rape
>shota elf fucking women
>setting full of rape
I- I, uuu, ... what? Ok, what? I don't remember there being anything like that as far as I read, so when did that happen?
And how depicted was it?
Kingdom has the hands down best massed batle scenes you'll find in manga.
It's a semi historical manga about the first unifaction of China. Basically Romance of the Three Kingdoms, including the over the top characters, just set earlier.
>>43660884
>funny jokes
>hyper violent comedic deaths

Licenceless Rider is my favorite character.
>>43687125
>>43687135
I'll admit, I only read a few chapters. The thing i remember the most was the MC (Blatt?) dressing up as a girl to get into a dungeon or prison. And then some battle afterwards. I'll have a look at it later, but right now I'm too deep in Rise of the Legend of the Shield Hero.
Speaking of which, anybody here read that yet?
>>43687129
Licenceless Rider is the only truly honorable hero in the entire series. He has my full respect. Saitama is a ton of fun, tho. Love how low-key and blank-faced he is when facing alien gods and whatnot. God, OPM is so fucking good.
>>43687176
Seeing the 1000 posts of rage was a site to behold....
....but beyond the shield/spear duel, I wouldn't touch it with a stick, whether LN or manga.
>>43675340
there was a thread earlier that mentioned the raws are out.
>>43687267
Oh, it's already been up here? Neat. I must have missed it. I like it though. It's wishfulfillment as fuck, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the rush of rage I felt reading it.
It is getting a little slow now, and best girl Raphtalia has been replaced by a bunch of lolis. I just hope the harem fest stops soon, I want to see the main party back together.
>>43687358
>I just hope the harem fest stops soon, I want to see the main party back together.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Let me repeat myself: beyond the shield/spear duel, I wouldn't touch it with a stick. You have been warned.
>>43656117
I don't know why but that picture makes my dick rock hard
>>43667724
well the jokes themselves aren't for everyone
And it kinda started as a gag manga in the first place
>>43666813
I cite YGO as a reason to never do anything in your comic that could be considered "marketable".
Yugi playing karmic games to the death was genius and different. Now? It's fucked.
>>43677601
My gm has read it. Before we even took up P&P as a hobby.
>>43686620
Oh fuck, how could I forget BAA? Very good read indeed
>>43667687
Guilded Age was good to start, but the reveal that the medieval characters were all characters in an MMO killed it. And since then it's steadily become less about parodying adventure stories and more about political drama/corporate drama/a journalist's mission for truth with bad jokes tossed in to 'break the tension'.
I read it now purely off of momentum. If I got to the point where I didn't have access to the internet for a week or two, I probably wouldn't think of it ever again.
>>43667669
/tg/ pls what? pls be better artists? Can do.
>>43691046
I disagree.
The manga was running on fumes by the time they brought in Duel Monsters (one chapter was literally turning over ranom cards).
The cardgame gave the whole thing some much needed structure as well as a a cohesive plot.
>>43671071
Mangahere is so-so, but they pull a lot of stuff over licensing issues.
