I think the quality standards for PDFs tend to be much higher than images. Look at >>43622018 and >>43622028 for examples, they're full of artefacts and all aspect ratios are fucked. A PDF CYOA is at least guaranteed to look decent unless the author purposefully tries to fuck it up.

You could claim (and you'd be right) that most text based CYOAs aren't quality material, either, but just because there aren't pictures in it doesn't automatically make something shit and it most definitely doesn't make it easy to make. (in fact, out in the real world, text based works tend to be considered more highbrow than ones featuring almost any other medium).

Man, Hub.batch was the plot twist in Battle-network ONE. Well the "By the way, your navi is actually your dead brother and we didn't tell you before because we didn't want you to be shy about bossing him around, fighting viruses and possibly getting him killed again." bit. Fast forward to BN 3, and they totally glossed over the existential horror that arises from Alpha EATING him only for Lan's dad to surprise him with a fresh copy of Megaman.Exe a few days later.

Copybots really aren't dark in itself, it's actually kind of a step back towards the orginal Megaman timeline. Slap a Navi in a robot body and BAM: Robot Masters. Well aside from the whole Iris secretly being a navi in a copybot and getting fucked over just as hard as her namesake in the X series thing.

Squats and Cardio is all I'm good at, and squats are much easier. Also, butts. I don't particularly care about my diet, and the other bonuses aren't too amazing for how much it limits what you can eat. Planet Fitness and Crossfit are both horrible places to be, and girls with big butts in planet fitness are likely to have big everything else in the worst way possible. So I just chose the one with the nicer sounding bonus. I was sorely temped to go with Lisa, because that's practically the Holy Grail of asses, but "Whatever it takes" is a gamechanger of a line.

That would be a pretty apt use, you might have a minor lump but the physical restructuring would probably smooth it out, for the most part.

Initially at least, if a traveller were to take sufficient damage (For the sake of this conversation paralysis below the waste and massive internal hemorrhaging) then the green tint would probably return.

They'd use the dimensional pads found at various traveller hubworld bases, the same used for bring in and out larger cargo. Things have been pretty much standardized in terms of space ship movement and cargo transport thanks to the commercialists.

Magus A is able to summon up about sixty skeletons with the intellects of cats in the middle of a dense battle field.

Mage B will kill mage A in his chosen field, while Mage A will be slightly better rounded.

Bad shit my homie, pyskers are characterized by their immersion in the ether, psionics by the total mental presence of their ability. I imagine combining these two is a bad idea as it would just reduce all actions to crushing a fire and death, but adding horsepower into the mix... If something bad happens, I doubt they're gonna find any parts of you. As in you'll be spread fine paste out for the next few miles.

The Militant are lead by the Head Consul 'Caesar' who is just an AI who was named such, probably a former military AI who survived a streaming load of shit before some travellers grabbed his metal ass.

Sort of, Psionic focuses the ethereal connection throughout the entire mind, enabling things very close to Telepathy and TK, as well as several other tricks, ranging from memory wipes. physical illusionism, and other mind tricks. Telken chip is perfectly ether proof.

All three have thier advantages, I'd prefer a straight up master if the situation I'm in can be planned out first, as they have the greatest flexibility. They could visit any of the major receptacles of spell work on Ae to work.

A psionic would be best when you need to deal with people, and delicacy, a psionic with patience could also perform tasks on the fly like reassembling clockwork and concealing a cabal of travellers by forcing others to just 'not' perceive them. They also have the advantage of being able to pull Telekinetics out of their ass on the fly.

A psyker is what you want when you need a heavy hitter, their entire bodies are embraced with the ether, and can pull major punches. However they lack the subtly of the psionic [a psyker can get in someones head but it will be a pretty horrific experience for everyone involved] and they also lack the same 'spellcasting' a standard master would have because their entire body is constantly coursing with energy.

For the millions of travellers, probably a ten thousand, with a tenth of the general population having some ability to manipulate the ether. As for thier strength, it depends, the strongest Yautja psyker has been alive for five centuries and could probably topple a mountain, the oldest Nisetic could probably crash a moderately sized moon into a planet if he had the time for it. These are just extreme examples, usually a master is someone who has a massive reserve of energy, knowledge in a wide variety of schools and the ability to put it all together.

It's bad. It's real bad, a watcher is just that, one who watches. Similar to the Augur but with only a tiny amount of control. You see everything, you see alternate inceptions of yourself, you see the past, and the future, and everything that ever is and ever was. It's horrific, scaring and will usually numb watchers, however it grant valuable insight and will more often then not help out... eventually.

Your watchers may occasionally grant help, as well, living in the constant shadow of a bunch of omnipresent assholes grants perspective.

From what you've told us in previous threads, the time-travel mechanics work of of alternate worlds, and what happens in them doesn't have any effect on the prime worlds where you've set up pegs. With this in mind, do some traveler's start thinking of of these alternate realities and their inhabitants as less real and thus, less important than the prime world they've set up? I can imagine a time-war or two may have been started because of that kind of attitude and the actions travelers with that mindset would take in those alternate pasts and futures.

Nah, this is just specialization. Yautja only ever get psykers while in the same right Nisetics have a gross majority of psionics among them. Both suck at dealing with the ether and spiritual affairs. Nisetics usually end up with every one of their fucking ancestors glaring down at them since they attained sentience, while Yautja just taboo that shit, they do that a lot. Humies and Mokresia are the only ones with positive interactions with the spiritual world. And humans are by far the best at swimming in it. There are exceptions but humans are usually the best balanced.

Sure it sounds like that on paper, but honestly, being a traveller negates all of these things eventually. Physical skill is learned, knowledge is picked up, and age is only a number after a while. Humans are better balanced for the long run, Yautja and Nisetics start out stronger, but almost always are guaranteed to have a bad time thanks to their inbred biology. One moment your find, then next thing you know your attempting to chew your arm off.

Well they aren't human for one, which is pretty important for some people.

Seriously, I don't get why people are trying to find out the "best" background. Some people want to create a build like some film noir protagonist so they pick Roaring Twenties; Private Eye. Others want to create something like the archetypal samurai and so go with Sengoku Jidai; Fallen Heir. A character straight out of 40k (or something like it)? Grimdark Future; Technical Heretic. If they don't want to make a human they can choose one of the various alien backgrounds or just go with The Now; Watcher which is meant to be a more flexible background to cover the infinite possibilities not covered with those already listed. I really liked Anomalous Future; Hopeless Questant and so choose that even if it was less than optimal for my final build. Some of us just want to create a cohesive character with our build rather than see just how much stuff we can squeeze into it.

AI Expert grants good insite on dealing with actual AI, an AI expert could perform the uplift process to help create true AI, as well they'd probably be the first ones capable of actually killing rogue AI without bashing a whole fucking server.
Tech-Head Is a broader spectrum, the meeting of hard and software and the ability to work fluidly with both. Nuclear adept is literal nuclear energy, it's generation use and containment, and mechanical is entirely the 'hardware' component of things, and the one you'd ask to build a care. Advanced Tech Understanding? I'd say it's sufficunt knowledge and understanding of a load of shit we won't encounter for centuries and understanding the principles behind it, though without much practice. Application is important.

So, someone who has an advanced tech-understanding knows of, and understands enough to cover all the other science perks but if you were trapped in an advanced nuclear facility about to blow, you'd much rather have the Nuclear Adept next to you.

The problem there is Etheral studies are incredibly wide in scope. Scrying, elemental control, Animal communications, spirit walking, healing arts, creation arts, pocket dimension creation. All of that and so much more is viable.

Time magic would interact oddly with Travellers, as they are independent time objects, and if you attempted to reverse, or stop time, your fellow travellers would remain unaffected.

As for spirit, that is just dealing with the various spiritual realms, talking to the dead, earth spirits, negotiating and whatnot.

I imagine this is a very valid tactic, when you hand a bunch of angry guerrillas, hunters and wizards time abuse then you can just imagine these people are going to use the future and past against enemies.

You don't really need Time magic for that seeing as Travellers can just use their braces to visit the past or future. While this is not useful in actively changing the Prime Timeline by itself, the recon potential are limitless.

I also really like the implication that Travelers bring up while being 'independent time objects' with no counterparts in alternate realities. From what I can gather, the more Travelers actively and visibly mess with a Prime Timeline, the less and less alternate realities that Timeline could spawn, or become related to, until it might eventually become a completely unique Timeline. This is another situation that, if true, might have sparked a couple time-wars.

Until he reaches of age he’s stuck under the supervision of Saphfo, although he doesn’t mind her seeing as how his other choices were even more insane. Became acquaintances with Mithra through his blood donations and visits her on occasion along with Ali. Every now and then he gets into sparring matches(read: slugfests) with Xian Mayen and the two are close friends because of it. Saphfo still dislikes the fact that he’s always grievously injured after said spars. As far as being a traveler goes he just jumps from world to world enjoying himself and helping here and there. Also, ring with permanence doesn't prevent you from removing the ring to toggle on-activate powers, it just prevents you from being free of your drawbacks ('cept for the week of "vacation time", unless you also take "full time" on the ring.

Some feedback after thinking about this one.

Mind reader is kind of totally damn near useless if it only works on a single target per activation, AND with a one-week wind-up time for that matter.

I mean, if you're going to give someone a mind reading power, give them some damn mind reading powers. Like read anyone's surface thoughts on touch or eye contact or something.

Also, unless the point IS to just make a couple rings you'd wear permanently anyways, I think the one-week warm-up/cooldown time is a little harsh. I get that it's to stop exploits where you pop the ring on, use a power and pull it back off to avoid living with a drawback, but 24 hours is enough to accomplish that. (However, punishments will persist until their expiration, even past the 24 hour mark)

I mean, the powers aren't supposed to allow you to AVOID drawbacks, but some do make them a lot easier to cope with. Like Vanilla. Attracted/Refined, Metamorphosis, etc.

Speaking of which, punishments that require a female body + Metamorphosis is a problem thanks to the lead-in time. Like if a male makes a metamorphisis ring with a lactating female form, what about the lead-up time until the transformation actually kicks in allowing lactation to actually work?

Also, I don't see why jobs should override welfare leach and loadsamoney even unless the money literally comes from government welfare. After all, you "Must" work that job regardless of your other income. Even if you're a billionaire you still have to do the job, so what does it matter if you have extra side income? Trouble is, if any of the participants in this research project decides to take a break from all the rape and takes off the ring, then their network node is shut down for at least two weeks - and that breaks the chain from past to future. So I think we need redundant nodes for reliability, and to allow ringbearers to take holidays from the drawbacks. That means a lot of rings, and hence a severely inflated cost for the later rings in the series. We're going to have to find some extremely perverted computer scientists to volunteer for the job. Hell if I know where I could find people like that.

Indeed. This, together with time stop, was one of the first powers I added, and hasn’t really caught up to the many changes I’ve made to the mechanics and the way I think the rings should work.
