That's actually really nice. The skin and camouflage turned out great. The gun could use an extra highlight.

How's life in Ecuador?
>>
So my next army is going to be vanilla Ariadna with mostly French, us and some scouts or spetznas. If it doesn't infiltrate/mech deploy or come in off a board edge I don't want it. I decided today that I'm going to paint them as ww2 German fallschirmjägers. How butt hurt should I expect people to get?
>>
People on the last thread shitting on Machaon: for 7 more points and .5 SWC than a Sophotect you get ODD, DA CCW, and he carries his own Smoke. They actually work well together since some missions reward you for running a bunch of Doctors around (Supplies, Coffin Raiders) anything big gets in the Sophotect's path, Machaon can drop smoke and go carve it up. Will not work on planet bowling ball.

Also, Phoenix makes a good LT, since he can sit back and occasionally pop out to shoot people poking their heads out with B2. Has a good chance of surviving a Speculo, a Fiday, even Uxia or Shinobu. Definitely shouldn't take on anything that can kill him in the FtF. Can always use his LT order to throw smoke in some firelane, whereas the Deva LT can only use it to reposition her bot. I'm not sure if she can go into Suppressive and have her reaction work the way you'd want it to with the Devabot.
>>
>>43616222

I thought he was going for a gold plated gun for a second there, Saddam style. Agree though, looks really good.

>>43617076
>Great, ANOTHER fucking Ariadna list that's ass deep in camo and has an aversion to deploying in it's usual deployment zone.
>Oh, nice splinter camo.
LW or EW? Will they all have blue pants?

>>43617602
The issue with Phoenix as a LT is that he's already a target, and you'll want to be using him pretty aggressively, so it's setting yourself up for a LOL situation if you're not careful. Although as you said, you could do worse.
>devabot
It's got a HFT. One shot is already a kick in the pants.

Not the best angle but I've finally gotten around to doing a Haqqislam model (even though it's a nomad, it's my QK scheme)

I've gone for a fairly cut back approach, esentially just basecoat and varying washes on everything, pretty happy with it myself
>>
>>43617863
>>43616222
I think the gun highlights got a bit washed out. On the black part I am going to do a spot gloss varnish to give it that sleek blackened look.

Ecuador is pretty good, little bit chilly though, what with it suddenly being in western NY.

Pretty excited to do a cohesive scheme on an infinity army though, my other force is nomads, and really the only thing unifying them all is that they have white armor plates, which is a pain in the ass to paint. Gonna work on a list shortly for Haqq
>>
>>43617977

You weren't the guy with the Azrail a few threads back, were you?

I'd be happy fielding that figure. Maybe a hair more wash/drybrush on the hair. Bring out those cornroes. same with the shoulder pads and gun. Help the edges to stand out a bit at a distance.

What drew you to the red/green scheme?

>cluster of warband
My nigger.
As for group 1, 3 Ragik might be a bit much. Your firepower could be better. Plenty of dick moves to pull, and you've got a decent midfield. A bit short on specialists, though.
>>
>>43618021

Nah, not the same guy.

I'm a bit torn, I really want to keep it simple because the effort I put into my Aleph scheme demotivates me from doing more painting, I really felt good about being able to turn out something solid quickly. But I know you are right, a bit more would help, I guess a drybrush before I wash in the future isn't a big ask.

I've wanted to use that sort of red tone for a while and not really had the opportunity, I really liked the druze scheme so I started out aiming for that but ended up replacing the yellowy tone there with the red.

I feel like the Red Black and Green are really common in middle eastern flags so I think it suits Haqqislam. This guy is probably more red than most models would be though, it's meant to be an accent used as a kind of unit marking, it's just the place it made most sense on an Alguacile was the entire shoulderpad area
>>
>>43617602
Nodoby was shitting on machaon. He's super good.
He's just not for every list; sophotects are faster (6-4) and have engineer goodies, which makes them ideal in ITS games. If you're playing vanilla, you need to be careful of his frenzy, which essentially negates his ODD if he gets a lucky aro.
Phoenix is a better lieutenant in vanilla than SP, since you can't spend his LT order on a link team. But again, he has frenzy, which makes him pretty hard to protect when he isn't linked up.
If you use a SP LT, just make sure you have a coc officer, because they will die.
>>
>>43618415
I just... I just love the Ragik models so much.

Also why wouldn't you cluster a warband if you're taking more than one and have a full group, they don't contribute orders or cost a lot of points in the grand scheme of things, and generally they fuck shit up by forcing your opponent to deal with them.
>>
>>43618039

>>
>>43621162

That's good. Gives you a bit of variation while still keeping cohesive. Fits nicely with the whole Ariadnian foresty patterns, and you've got some guidelines for the armour plates.

Anyone get Pea Dot?

>>43619929
That's a really cool idea. No shiny gold visors?

>>43619096
Nicely balanced. Although paying 1.5 SWC for a Muyib LT is making my eyes water.
>>
>>43619929
If there's anyway you can make the clothing look matte it'd be solid.

Helmets could use a couple of highlights to clean it up too. Decent TTQ though.

>>
>>43620760
Too bad Angus never hits his target
>>
>>43619096
3 hackers with noone forward deploying, 4 models needing many orders (Fiday, Al, 2 Ragik), nothing good in Ftf (the total reaction rifle is weak, and 5 orders in the first turn is a bit too little.
If you want to play ITS look into farzans, if you want to run agressive Asawira CoC and LT, and while Fiday can waste orders by just being a pain to remove your order deficit means the Fiday are unimportant.
As of now i would consider exchanging the asawira, the kameel, and a fiday using your left over points to do a new list unless you really want 2 ragik, 2 fidays,, a HI and a drone.
What do you consider removable?
>>
>>43621366
>to do a new list unless you really want 2 ragik, 2 fidays
Noone includes 2 Impersonators in a list accidentally, and he had to be talked down from 3 Ragik. There's a certain amount of personal preference in anon's list.
>>
>>43621206
Pea dot looks cool, but it's really tough to not make it look like garbage at such a small scale, especially when it's not a full smock to cover. It's possible to do some scouts like that with their ponchos, but I think that would be about it.

It' not a modern scheme, not even Russian - it was made in USSR, in year 1950+. It's still used by some forces in exUSSR countries, including Russia, but not on regular basis. Pattern's names are - "solnechnye zaychiki" ("sunshine rays"), or "berezhka" ("birch"), or "serebryanyi list" ("silver leaf"). There is also a variation (pic related) with the same pattern, which featuring yellowish-green figures on an olive green field. Instead of a "light-grey on an olive green" variant.

How does one properly use briscards in frrm? Why would I use a link of them instead of say, Loup Garou or Moblots?
>>

exactly!

good thing linked loup garous would shit all over unlinked ghula-daylamis :^)
>>
>>43634148

They do have HRL, specialists, and Lt options which viral spamming LG do not.

Playas actually use 'blot teams in the first place?
>>
>>43634182
23 point ap rifle and light shottie? pretty good when you can take a BSG+Pfaust or a paramedic for the same points. They're surprisingly viable now compared to their last rules.

>>
>>43634243
>muzzies
:>
>>
>>43634165
In the interests of versimilitude, I'd say it's probably fairer to give the Haqqislam player first turn, and some advance deployment and impetuous, and possibly minelayer on some units. Then the Meros have to advance in and stop them. Bunch of VIP types and objectives in the midfield.

>>43634148

They're akin to wildcats or bolts. They're cheap, but pretty good despite it. Moblots are expensive, and Loup Garou aren't quite as universal.

Mix in a few good shooters and infiltrators, and you have a solid link team in a way that other options aren't.
>>
>>43634322
true, the ap/dep infil is really nice, and the other infil does get the e/mauler which is always good.
>>
>>43634148

They're a versatile link that has long range, AOE, fire, specialists and an easy LT option. And MSV1

Loups are really good at killing low/medium BTS at 16" and pretty okay at killing them at above that. That's it. Briscards can fuck up mimetism, discover camo, drop circular templates on links, set Tohaa on fire and capture objectives.

Also they look amazing.

>>43634182

Moblot links are really good in N3, they just have very limited model options.
>>
>>43634461

'blots might be a great fireteam, but they are up against better competition like LGs, and 'cards, for those same reasons you mentioned.

I wonder how the FRRM are going to be improved even more when they are already one of the better lists to begin with, the strange lack of players notwithstanding.
>>
How can Haqq players justify taking the blue pill now

Biggest one is linkable HMG that isn't a metro.

Second is engineer options.

Third is they have access to AP and EXP. also since shotguns are a lot less shit and a lot less expensive, theyre viable enough.
>>

Caterans walk an interesting path.

Let's say this is my list and my opponent plays Saladin with Fiday and al-Djabel at the same time. What can I do about them when I'm not going first?
>>
>>43654289

Revise that list, for a start. You've starved yourself of orders in both groups. Group 2 only starts with 3 orders for heaven's sake.

Beyond that, your link team should be basically impersonator proof, there's too much risk to attack them easily, although the LT is pretty obvious.

As for the list in general, overlapping fire, bait them out, and in general make sure that they only get to swing once. Backs to walls, sort of thing. Spread out your template troops as well, they're good for scratching out impersonators.
>>
>>43654349
>As for the list in general, overlapping fire, bait them out, and in general make sure that they only get to swing once. Backs to walls, sort of thing. Spread out your template troops as well, they're good for scratching out impersonators.

Yeah, I did that with PanO, had two MSVs in crossfire (a Nisse and an Acquilla). And yet due to smoke shenanigans and good starting positioning he managed to take out Nisse and the doctor (both Fidays were shot dead by the Aquilla in ARO, but after they were done).

For my Nomads the problem is that I don't really have a way of seeing through smoke with what I have, so that Daktari is probably dead.

I don't see much option to stop him from smoking over the wildcats and slaughtering them in melee (he has like 9 spare orders for Fidays alone). And that's a third of my list and my major beatstick gone like that.

Man, I love Nomads, but that list is still giving me a headache. I should stick with my heavy fire PanO for now.
>>
>>43654490

Well, it's just a Daktari. If he spends his first turn and his Fiday just killing crap, then you're essentially up.
>seeing through smoke
Sixth Sense L2. And Intruders. And mines, killer koalas, morlocks, any number of other templated nasties, uberfallkommando launching discover checks if he moves anywhere, etc etc.

Morlocks and murder-furries are not in Corregidor. I am pondering getting the latter or McMurrough. Don't really like Pupniks though.

Fidays, AD, HMGs,...also snipers can out range it. The best thing to do is to stack modifiers against it. A Lasiq Sniper can impose a -9MOD from Cover, Range, and Mimetism. AD Troops, Infiltrators, Impersonators can get into that -3 Short Range with potential Surprise Shot and/or Shotgun range.

If you dont have MSV2, just use Smoke to avoid confrontations with the TR Rem until you get a good opportunity to take it out
>>
>>43664504

Lasiq or Kaplan snipers, they will be looking at -9 mods against either of these guys thanks to mimetism, meanwhile you are hitting on probably a 12. Just gotta leverage that 32-48 range bracket and hope they don't luck into a 2.

I personally prefer the Lasiq because Viral is really good in certain niches (mostly against Ariadna) and Haqqislam has no shortage of AP options elsewhere so you don't really need the Multi Sniper's AP mode.

a similar option would be a Missile REM with cover ignoring from marksmanship, take a long range shot, you are still hitting on a 12, but he will only need 5s so if you botch your roll you might take a hit or two.
>>
>>43664504
Murabids tuaregs. Nothing fucks tr drone like to surprise shot snipers
>>
>>43665119
One thing I love about doing this is sometimes opponents don't realize just how fucked they are and declare shoot anyway.

I love the look on their face when they realise they are at -12 and literally can't hit you.

>>
>>43666128
The big problem with co-ordinating AD is it costs you an order from the pool to co-ordinate, and then you have to throw out all the models personal orders that they didn't use.

The list would have to lean heavily on co-ordinated orders to get shit done once the hellcats hit.

I don't think it's viable but it's not completely unplayable

Much better. Although the lack of a power weapon on the Intruder is a damn shame. I'd say drop the HRL option and Moriarty, and pick up a HMG. Intruders really make excellent use of any big gun you give them. Miniature Market - generally good stock, selection and prices. Restocking can be kinda hit or miss. The one to beat overall.

Monkey Sword Games - a bit more scattered selection, but more likely to find the older blister of a model which now only comes in a box set.

Infinity Harbour - Only stock infinity, but have all the modern line with good restock. The real bonus is that they have a huge selection of Infinity related terrain, (customeeple, Plastcraft, Bandua, Antenociti, MAS, etc), but unlike MM tend to keep it in stock.

I can't quite place my finger on it. I loved the concept artwork for them, and actually like some of the out of production versions.

I think they look a bit... Mechanical, I think. Look at the Morat Vanguard, Suryats and Sogarats. They have a sort of space plate-armour, but the Yaogats look sorta space-steampunk. Steampunk aint my bag.

Steam punk? They have evidently artificial muscle fiber on their arms but other then that they're essentially just fancier vanguard infantry, model wise.

Newbie here I got a cover question

I read that you have to be base to base with terrain to get partial cover from it, so if a mini is standing behind some terrain that blocks most of the mini from veiw from the attack, but is NOT actualy base to base with it, the target dosn't get any cover from it?

It just seems kind of odd to me that the the dude who I can only see the leg, or whatever, of is as easy a target as the dude standing out in the open becasue he's not right at the wall blocking my sight to the rest of him.

Well, if you don't use the Keisotu lt, you need a coc kempeitai.

Assuming you do, I'd go with either the o yoroi lt or lt asuka. Both can make good use of the extra order which is always valuable when running a tag.

Keisotu kinda suck, and Yurika can't link up with a palbot, but JSA doesn't have many options.

I'd definitely try to squeeze in a baggage bot and a weibing. The former will help alot with controlling quarters when you lose shinobu and the tag, and can reload Yurika in a pinch, and the latter is your fastest specialist.

Generally you avoid the Keisotsu LT and go for any other the other options, two of which are on your list (Shinobu, O-Yoroi). If you aren't going for something durable like the O-Yoroi LT or Domaru, get a Kempei CoC.

Also, you don't need to keisotsu spam to that extent, especially the base combi version.Trade in some Keisotsu for the Kempei and get a missile launcher or HMG for your link team.

>>43683076
> Christ, JSA has terrible LT options
Err, what? JSA has bloody amazing aggressive LT options. You just have to bring the amazingly cheap and surprisingly survivable CoC Kempei to unlock it.

Hey all.
I managed to break away from 40k's tit and have purchased a few boxes (purely based on looks) of nomad stuff. Can I make a decent army with these? Ideally I'd be going for a Corregidor Sectorial. Have a rough gist of the rules, but I don't know where to start.
> Corregidor Sectorial Starter
> Operation Icestorm (went halves with a mate)
> Mobile Brigada box
> Lupe Balboa

Where do I go from here? I kinda like the idea of Intruders. Are they worth the points?
>>
>>43684884
>Are the Intruder worth a point?
Yes, alot
Its usually an auto include amongs the corregidors player outside the rape train list.
And adding some cats (tomcats for dropping specialist and helcats for AD) is good. An extra aguaciles is great if you want to run cheap link team.
>>
>>43684778
Breaks the link team.

>>43684538
Idk about shinobu being LT. I've butt slammed many things that thought TO and Sup Fire could save them with Hsien and Rui Shi. It's the type of thing you're gonna pour resources to get rid of anyway. Best not to bank on them not having an MSV.

O-Yoroi LT i kind of like. It's durable but it means playing a bit more conservatively.

Do not like the fucking Kempei at all. 23 points for an insurance policy cheerleader doesn't sit well with me.

>>43683076
baggage allows you to reload consumable ammo? Interesting the baggage bot is the cheapest regular order out there. I'm thinking mostly to use the Keisotsu as just specialist runners. The Lu Duan and Rui Shi provide good fire support. I might put in another engineer just cause theres so many bots. Makes getting test run easier. It is a bit of a dilemma. I could just break the team to heal the bots with Yoriko then reform the link. Kind of a pain in the ass though. Or I can just not run her in the link. She works good on her own too.

I'll keep messing with it and let you guys know what I come up with in the morning.

Intruders are your bread and butter as Corregidor. Always pack at least one, preferably with a sniper rifle or HMG.

With the stuff you have, a Mobile Brigada link team is a fun albeit expensive option. The Hellcat is always nice to drop somewhere inconvenient for the enemy, and Alguaciles are good at providing cheap orders for your nastier troops. A hacker is also important if you're taking Brigada, and I'd personally recommend just using an alguacil for that.
>>
>>43684884

Carlotta. She's an incredible mix of good value capabilities, and can find a place in many lists.
>intruders
Anon's have the right of it, Intruders are a fantastic figure, one of the best in the Nomad arsenal. They're decently priced, their camo both makes them better in straight fights, and almost invunerable barring considerable bother otherwise. They have great stats, and MSV2 is a very helpful equipment item to have. They make excellent rambo figures with a HMG, and excellent overwatch types with an MSR. ADHLs or Hacking Devices make for a potent close up operative as well. They're not bad LT candidates either.
>>
I tend to be close range hungry with my YJ, going for personal shotguns range kills, cause moving accross the terrain is so much fun.

But recently I found myself to want to try sniper lists, picking off my targets with clear long distance superiority.

What are good sniper options for this approach in YuJing? GuiLang is first to spring to my mind, anything else?
>>
>>43686042

It's worth mentioning that Su Jian do both very nicely. Marksman Sun Tze's also worth a look.

Hsien with HMG's aren't bad, particularly with smoke cover. Ninja Snipers have plenty of wiggle room with TO and Infiltration to pick an excellent spit. Hac Tao are brutal long range fighters, TAG's tend to be excellent at scraping away anything exposed, and obviously these days the heavy weapons buggers in the power armour always need to be in any list long range fuckers. Dual Missile Launchers and HMRCs included. Bao snipers are also cheap for MSRs with MSV2, if you have some spare SWC.

Does /tg think the game has enough room left for a Mulan recreation for YuJing? Or is that just way too covered up by Joan D'Arc already?

Some rulewise twist to set her apart from her French counterpiece? I'd suppose an Invincible/ Hsien base Profile. Not religious. Some inspiration thing would be nice, but Joan already has that. A little dragon remote Buddy is too Disney.

Worth discussing/ wishlisting?
>>
>>43686466
It seems like wish listing, but I don't see why not? Just think of a reason why Yu Jing would ask for a recreation for Mulan. Sun Tze was made because they asked for a great leader, Miyamoto because he's a great warrior, what makes Mulan stand out from history?

That being said, you can always make a spec-ops or name one of your characters after her.
>>
>>43686466

All the recreations tended to have a degree of purity to them, at the design stage. A very clear cut, specific goal, and a political environment into which it was needed. They weren't just bringing back cool historical people, intradiagetically, at least. Plus you wouldn't want her to overlap with an existing figure too much, the recreations tend to be their own thing, unlike Carlotta/Neko/Kitsune/Toni etc, that tend to graft themselves onto an existing unit.

I'm not particularly well read about the original mulan, but a Wuxia style character fits very neatly into Infinity's ruleset. Meta-agility, at least. Holoprojector level 1 would fit a bit if you had a 'defend the people' folk hero sort of deal going on.
>>
>>43686466
>>43686530

Actually: On a similar topic -

Design a uni for a faction that does something a bit unusual for them rather than just being 'X+1'

Youxia, Yu Jing First Responce (Merc/Yu-Jing)

6-4 move, Meta-agility. hyperdynamics, Light armour and weapons, MA 3 + DA CCW.

Expensive but bloody hard to touch assault troops. Comes with a few fun loadouts like 2x Assault Pistol or SMG + Panzerfaust.
>>
>>43686466
I wouldn't be so sure Mulan can be made without fear. I'd say Disney has a more impressive team of IP overprotective lawyers than, say, Christopher Lambert.
>>
>>43686530
>Carlotta/Neko/Kitsune/Toni
None of those people are recreations. They're just people.
Musashi was made literally so Aristea could host some cool fights. Not all recreations are government liaisons like Saladin.
>>
>>43686641

You don't need to deal with IP lawyers over a mythological character. Unless Disney plans to sue anyone publishing a copy of the Ballad of Mulan.
>>
>>43686530
Very well answered. Unfortunately rather confirms my impression that Mulan is too Joan for her own good.

But yeh, a wuxia style guy would be neat, I'd see a legendary spearfighter-guy in such a role or something.

>>
>>43688894
There isn't really an allocation. What tends to emerge is that certain bits of gear tend to have consistent prices, but you can have cheapish units with lots of bling, or expensive units with very little.

Compare ORCs and say, Stempler Zonds. Or Fusileers and Irmandinos.

As for the street sammy, off the top of my head I was thinking something akin to an Oniwaban. He doesn't have any sort of foward deployment ability, he has worse MA, and he doesn't have TO camo. He also limited to killing stuff close up. Not even a combi rifle. Hence the Uberfallkommando comparison. He's more of a guided missile than a regular unit.
