Jump #24 Swords & Sorcery
Location: The Land Of Steel
Age: 33
Origin: Drop In

Perks:
To Truly Live (50)- Live the life in HD.
A Well Traveled Road (100)- The joy of travel.
Born To Be Mighty (200)- When in Ro- I mean Gaul...
The Charm Of Rogues (300)- Like Ol' Captain Jack Sparrow.
Call to Greatness (450)- It knows where you jump.
Lost And Forgotten (600)- One more adventure waiting around another bend...
The Heart Of Man (900)- Tourist, spymaster, fixer or maker of problems and more uses besides.
The Making Of Myth (1200)- To leave my footprints deep in the bones of the worlds I walk.
Grandeur and Allure (1600)- Vanity intensifies.

Gear:
A Wanderer's Cloak (0)- Handy.

Drawbacks:
A Weak Heart (+100)- I must be brave...
The Nail That Sticks Up (+200)- ...despite all the slings and arrows of the world....
The Plaything of Your Betters (+300)- ...and the whims of cruel gods.

Some are born to bravery, and others must grow into it. Others still must grow up even earlier than most. I'm not a hero or any great legend, but perhaps I'll fill into these shoes before they trip me up. Until then I'm going to keep walking the world and see what good it holds. I imagine I'm going to see enough of the bad with less effort.

Pic related. According to Worm it's what will happen when I combine Call to Greatness, Lost and Forgotten, and Dowsing from TES.

So /jc/ how do you manage your companions?

I'm getting tired of trying to decide which ones I want to take into a jump and which ones are in need of a buff.
>>
>>43613082
Kept a Persona like chart where I'd slowly tally how much time I spent with them, and which companions were particularly close to each other so they'd come as groups.

As far as the whole companion dilemma goes...well, it's why I started delving into multiple companions and now reserve companion mechanics. The pain of having too many friends is real.
>>
>>43613082
I have 4, and only 4. I leave mandatory companions behind and tend not to take group companions.

A small group is easier to manage and you can spend more time handling their personalities and stories with care. It also helps to consolidate power in a few champions, who can help you manage the canon people you're using to get shit done. It's too easy to lose people in the shuffle with more anyway.

This guy knows what's up-

>Void higher than anything

At least Earth is good for something. You can produce metal and eventually wood from it, for one.

>>43613210
Doesn't mean we're not right.

>>43613236
And justifiably so.
>>
>>43613314
Void doesn't represent nothingness, it's more like the Tabula Rasa. Something blank, and therefore full of possibilities. Though I'm not sure that original post was meant as a ranking, anyway, but instead as a cycle. The water>wood>metal>fire>earth thing is the Wu Xing cycle of transformations. It loops around with earth being superior to water.

I only have two, really. Emmy and Chartreuse. My shirshu Hime isn't technically sapient, so she doesn't count, though she's always my loyal and trusty steed when needed.

There's also an R2 astromech I call Bebop and Steve the Sentinel, but they don't really get anything when I pull them along aside from Jump-specific tech upgrades that I make for them.
>>
>>43613401
>'Lighting is part of metal.
>Wind is part of wood.
In what elemental system does that make any sense? I can understand why it'd be connected to void, but lightning should be associated with either fire or wind.
>>
What is the difference between an Extremis Iron Man Suit and a regular one?

I know it's nanomachines but still is there any reason to take it besides it being study material?
>>
>>43613362
I was using the Western/Japanese elemental system and the Chinese elemental system. In neither is Lightning an element on its own.
>>
>>43613082
I pretty much just limit myself to only a certain number of Companions. Last time I was jumping it was three, which I feel was a good number; anything over that really starts getting unwieldy.

I think next time I start a chain I may skip Pokemon entirely; it's hard to get attached to Companions when they're random animals I've turned into people.
>>
>>43613440
The Chinese elemental system. The elements of the Wu Xing aren't meant to be literal physical elements but rather states of being metaphorically named after elements. So lightning is "metal" because it's forceful, unstoppable, and carries yin chi. And wind is "wood" because it's fluid, expansive, and yang chi (fluid things that are yin chi are considered to be water).
>>
For those of you who have jumped Supernatural, did you hang with any of the main characters? How did that work out for you?

Typically I avoid MC's and just do my own thing with the world and the plot, but, friend mortality rate aside, Sam and Dean look like they'd be fun to bro around with.

An Extremis isn't even a suit, it's more like a combo of super toughness, strength and also fireblasts.

The most powerful user could burn Tony's suits with a touch into scrap metal by fighting him hand to hand in a few seconds
>>
>>43613482
Where are you getting an Extremis Suit?

Well anyways, being nanomachines is its primary specialty as Tony was able to then store the suit inside his body and (if I recall correctly) was able to then link his mind with his body's reaction speed to outdo people like spiderman.
>>
>>43613538
I meant Marvel Comics Extremis not MCU.
>>
>>43613538
That's MCU. Anon means Marvel Comics.
>>
>>43613538
I think he's referring to the comics, not the movies. In which case the Extremis Suit had an advantage mainly in its computer systems due to switching to nanocomputers. It was much more responsive and easy to use, to the point where Iron Man could keep up with people with enhanced reflexes or even precognition. There were also some side benefits with it being lighter due to nanomaterials, or being able to be stored in liquid form.
>>
>>43613555
Oh, I I believe he stopped using it after Ultron used the nanomachines to transform Tony into a female and used the body for himself.
>>
>>43613082
I've kept the same eleven my entire chain.
It makes it easier to keep track of than the Pink Tide, and it's also one of the most flexible size of group since it can be broken down into quite a few different sized sub-groups.
>>
>>43613555
IIRC a couple of months ago some Anon was asking Marvel about getting an Stark suit if he went Power Armor+Energy+Toughness+Strength+Flight. Marvel mentioned that if Kinesis was added you could get an Extremis one or Brains for the Pseudo-AI Tony had.

Don't actually remember which thread this was though.

Metal and electricity makes a lot of sense. Metal conducts, metal can generate electricity, machines are powered by it, and so on. Same with wood and air - we get our oxygen from trees, and the easiest way for most people to see if it's windy is to see if the leaves are blowing.

I'd pull the mysterious, cryptic benefactor card until they realize I'm just dicking with them, then I'd bro it out with them. Apart from the occasional angst attack or LOSING THEIR FUCKING SOULS, they're a bunch of righteous dudes. Even Castiel, once he loosens his sphincter and before going full Rhino.

My main purpose is to try and get the Hunters organized in a way that doesn't resemsble a Boy Scout troop meeting Lord of the Flies. Seriously, put a little effort in and you could have a decent cell system. Don't even need all my Splinter Cell or Mob perks, just a few good history books.

I was an obscure & largely forgotten babylonian god of Fire & Magic. I tended to intervene and intermittently fuck with or aid the brothers. More than one time I had to run them off my territory as I started expanding my worship in the new age, but more than one time I helped them put down a problem that would have taken then to their limits. Also, we shared the animosity of hell, so that helped. It was an odd relationship.

The most prominent thing I did for them was probably basically bringing Bobby back from the dead thanks to some amazing surgical skills from Franken-Fran Jump, and they helped me run my ancestral rival god's cult out of southern Ontario.

Question about the fallout jump.

If you bring a sizable nuke (15kt or ww2 size) would that get a nerf? Or does it just nerf things down to where fallout can handle it?

Cause i'm wondering what would happen if you bring out your ACU (assume default). What happens to its army building ability? How does that get nerfed? Weaker tech? Slower building?

I am honestly stumped.
>>
>>43615526
I don't think a nuke would be affected since, even though nuclear weapons are really weak in the Fallout universe, WW2 nukes were used before the timeline split-off.

I don't know exactly how an ACU works but we've seen repair drone, mobile bases, and giants robots in the Fallout 3 & New Vegas. So if anything it'd have much slower building capabilities (Probably months or years to construct something.) and be way slower than before.

Y'know, speaking as someone who did the same thing, and having had quite some time to think about just what I did...

I think if I hadn't been specifically given the offer (and hadn't also appeared as one of the aforementioned little girls), I wouldn't have done it. I wouldn't have even thought to have done it. Also, the fact that some weird guy in a mask was also asking me to do the exact opposite and murder all the girls may have coloured my view a bit of the situation.
But basically, a little girl came up to me and said, "Save us!", and then a creepy guy showed up and said, "Murder the girl!", and I was still running off my murder high from Red Alert, and...
Well. Things happened.

I think if I had been left entirely to my own devices, I probably would have just found an abandoned building and hid in it for awhile. Though then everyone would still be in that setting including the girls and nothing would have changed, because I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted anything to do with it.
It's something to think about, I guess.

And I guess we have learned that people should not ask me to do things for them ever.

I am not a good person.

SW was jump number nine.

I don't think I could handle that much mental instability that early.

But more importantly than that, none of them really piqued my interest enough, except maybe Charlotte. But only do I could later introduce her to Chuck.

I checked Bleach jump again.

I'd like to point out how a Speed Perk with no discounts or freebies, costing 150 cp, has you capable of running at 25 mph. That's 11 meters per second.

EXCUSE ME BUT THAT'S SLOW AS FUCK. That's Usain Bolt's speed but... still.

Also, it's broken. Arrancar costs 150 cp. By having it, you get either free transform perk OR 300 cp. So wait what.

Why is Bankai's strength ability equivalent to Chad's strength before he had his fullbring arms?

Why is the deaf drawback limiting a person to no release at all, even Kenpachi could maintain a shikai without knowing name of sword or hearing it at all.

Does New Recruit drawback keep you at that level of power forever despite chosen perks to increase it?

How much does empowerment shikai ability boost you by?

HOw do you determine your rate of fire or such through the Quincy stuff? Can the free 200 perk from Quincy if you are one be discounted ones?

Why does even the Fullbring list have a drawback that doesn't allow you to use ANY powers from fullbring? You can't buy any other powers if you have fullbring origins, you can only barely reach peak of human abilities and can't get cool stuff like Orihime.

I don't think Bringer Light ever existed in manga. And shouldn't power transfer be just natural part of Fullbringer?

HOW STRONG ARE FULLBRING POWERS. They are barely descriptive in any way.

It's spelled Gigai, not Gegai

Does Bakkoto work on "Too much spirit at once" or during one period of usage or over the entirety of you ever using it?

What's a class 0 hollow. They never classified them that way.

What do the Blueprints even do or allow you to accomplish if you study them? It's not explained anywhere. Why are they even called blueprints if it's more like medical stuff.

How come the Star Crossed has you have unkillable person that fell in love with you. Any other jump that had drawback for 100 would allow you to fight back in some way or such.
>>
>>43616366

The Quincy Target implies the maker had barely any knowledge of intricacies of Wandereich, especially the "General nonsense powers" part

And there is no explanations or such or notes at bottom of it.

I went a little crazy(okay, maybe more than a little) when I saw what was happening. Landing in Cairo, where they were treated even worse than anywhere else, made the choice much easier.

>There's a mummy type that's the opposite of a vampire in that it has to sleep at night and is weakened then.
Too bad that weakness is way more severe than other types of mummy (cept the ones that get castrated I guess, but that has no mechanical effect), making them kinda gimped.

I guess the biggest hurdle with making a Mummy jump is reconciling the original with Resurrection. The former is in the time of Wraith, the later Orpheus. And mummies between the two are very different beasts. So how to include both?
>>
>>43616592
I find it really hard to believe that you're that new. But giving you the benefit of the doubt, yes, we had this EXACT conversation just last thread. We've also had it before that, both after the rewrite and before. And it's always the same conversation. Nobody wants to talk about it right now. So don't talk about it right now.

As for your questions, the only one I know the answer to is that according to previous threads Fullbringers are weaker than basically everyone, but they have the benefit of esoteric powers and finding it easier to stay out of plot.

Everything else either isn't a question or I frankly don't care about, because Bleach is terrible. So sorry if that disappoints you.

It can. The Self-Awareness Perk lets you start with an Awakened Persona, but you can still Awaken your Persona without it. Of course, Self-Awareness lets you Re-Awaken to get the Ultimate Persona that you can get in 4, and that's impossible without the perk.

>>

Virgo Earth, Dog Wood.
Sounds about right.
>>
>>43619234
The Sefekhi? I'm sure most of you could grow things back, but yeah, they're pretty negative. Each of the types of mummy are based on one of the parts of a person's soul or being the ancient Egyptians believed in. Sefekhi represent the khaibit, or your inherent bestial instincts and things like uncontrolled rage and lust. So if you end up with that, you basically turn into a psychotic monster until they manage to capture you. There's a ritualistic death/rebirth thing the various Egyptian cults do, but the Sefekhi's is more like ritual disfigurement.

What happens is that they carve onto the Sefekhi various markings meant to evoke where Osiris was divided into pieces by Set. So their entire bodies are circled around with these kinds of scars. As far as being sterilized, well, Isis never did find Osiris' penis, remember? It also serves the second stated purpose of helping to curtail some of the ability (for the men) and desire to indulge in some of those base instincts. For the ultra dense, that means these mummies are so bad the cults fix them so they are unlikely to rape people.

The final thing the cults do to Sefekhi is bandage 'em up and keep them locked away until the individual manages to gain enough control over themselves that they can, mostly, behave like normal people instead of rampaging. Some of them never manage that and are entombed forever. So yeah. They're the evilest kind, and the sort with the worst liability as they're called (non mechanically). Second worst would be the guys that take bash damage whenever they try to use the mummy's discipline analogue, but at least they have their junk.
>>
>>43618989
... y'know, if a normal human can lift <1/2 ton, and throw a cricket or baseball ball at ~150 kph, how frickin fast would someone able to lift 30 tons be able to throw the same ball?
>>
>>43619444
That's how one of the protagonists fights, actually. He used to be a baseball pitcher, and he's been spliced with harpy eagle DNA for incredible eyesight and utterly ridiculous arm strength. It makes him the artillery of the team, he just hangs back and throws metal balls at the speed of sound from a mile away.
>>
>>43619403
Also, before anyone gets the wrong idea, It is actually considered totally unacceptable by the mummy's moral code to rape anyone. There are 10 ranks of Ma'at, balance, and even those with the lowest Ma'at of 1 are forbidden from it, along with torture and murder, as well any action that you know will lead to the death or permanent harm of another person who isn't evil.

Nothing forces them to progress from here (but they are wanted to), but at least this much is expected of them at a base. The second rank? They are expected to never allow any of the above to take place to anyone if they can help it. Mummies are basically the paladins of the supernaturals. Unsurprisingly, Sefekhi have issues with holding themselves to these standards.
>>

Things get more and more stringent from there. At 7 you can't even cause someone emotional harm unless it was done in self defense or was necessary to uphold other tenets. But yeah, Sefekhi start out pretty horrible and are unlikely to get high Ma'at. Everyone else is fine though, since they represent the higher aspects of the soul.

>>
Was there a worm update coming?

I didn't see any changes on the drive.
>>
>>43620196
It's still in progress, and seems to be going well. Worm Anon made the Sword and Sorcery jump in between. I think there is going to be a total of over 40 powers when you add in the new ones.
>>
>>43620216
>>43620196
Worm has stated you can pull "grandfather clause" if you liked your old parahuman powers, even if you redo the rest of your build.
Which is nice, me and my Companions rolled ridiculously fitting powers. And I rolled the one power I really wanted, after paying for the correct category type.
>>
>>43620216
There are already over 40 powers. Adding in the new ones will bring the total to 96. It's going to make a difficult choice even more difficult.
>>
>>43620196
Anyway, I started to read Worm, and it doesn't look terribly dangerous for now, if you don't do something stupid like going 1 on 1 with an end bringer. I'm still quite early a little after canary get arrested . As i understand it's impossible to keep a low profile in the jump but even then is it really that dangerous as you people make it sound? Does it goes up in threat level that much as the story goes on?
>>
>>43620461
Unfortunately, yes, to the great detriment of the story.
>>
>>43620461
A little of column A, a little of column B. There is a lot of overhype about how dangerous it is, there are plenty of places you can go that are perfectly safe and won't get you exposed to any of the huge dangers. That said, if you get involved in the plot you will face some horrifically dangerous shit. And since several of the "you are part of the plot now" threats are wandering threats, you should keep an eye out for them and not get complacent.
>>
>>43620488
>there are plenty of places you can go that are perfectly safe and won't get you exposed to any of the huge dangers.
Well, if you're a Parahuman you're going to have serious problems when Khepri rolls around.
>>
>>43620534
Yeah, but anyone smart has some form of immunity to scrying if they're going to Worm, so I assumed they'd be safe from that threat, at least.
>>
>>43620545
Well, leaving aside whether Clairvoiyant counts under any given method of scrying and just assuming you have one that works, you'll still be risking death if you're on any Earth and have accidentally butterflied away the canon victory. Say, by directly or indirectly causing injury or death to practically any cape, given the numbers of capes they needed to use as meatshields.

Has anyone ever eschewed the "building stuff" route? I know it's quite possible to get ridiculous force-multipliers through the various infrastructure-building, reverse-engineering, and mass-production perks, but I'm wondering if that's the default position, or does anyone do a "low footprint" run?
>>
>>43621515
You'd have to define low footprint. A lot of the more discussed builders don't necessarily flaunt their shit, they keep it in their warehouse until they need it.

Sure, you've got plenty of empire buliders, but it seems like theres a fair amount if not a majority of jumper builders who are more inventors and invention minded.

>Kino's Journey

You know, although our usual contact with spiritualism has been alternating between trying to dissect it and yelling at everyone involved for being wrong we do have a quasi-divine incarnation of cool motorcycles as a recurring vehicle/travelling companion. And we are quite a good gunslinger, even if we seldom have chances to show off.

We do occasionally indulge in the hobolyfe you're describing but...it's kind of the beach episode equivalent in our chain. Something to do when there's no pressing threat to the universe in a setting, or when we just can't be arsed to get involved in the local conflict.

Even then, we are pretty attached to our infrastructure. We spent our trips in Codex Alera and James Cameron's Avatar making a David Attenboroughstyle documentary about the Vord and Pandora respectively, and basically spent WoW as Indiana Jones, but on a motorcycle.

Actually, a lot of our tech is built along those lines-stripped down to femtomachine-level so's we can whip out a battle fortress at a moment's notice. If you're looking for starting points for research:

-The City of Heaven seed from Lord of Light can spawn a city from unique geographical conditions and/or people living near it
-All the Caelondian items from Bastion, but especially the Caelondian capstone, Calamitytech. Cores and Shards are all about "recording" physical objects and actualising them with sufficient Mantic energy input in seconds
-Sohon from Posleen Wars, the Nanoforge from Red Faction and Nanomaster from Iji should give you a solid grounding in nanoarchitecture. Best combined with Miniaturisation and Efficiency from Worm, because femtomachines, son.
-Georama from Dark Cloud is a sort of magic that remotely rearranges architecture to your liking
-Code Lyoko has a similar capstone for the program background, and an item that can digitise/reverse-digitise things
-Applied Energistics from Minecraft is worth studying, especially if you happen to have the Video power from Infamous. Ditto for App Master from Soul Hackers, for the technomagically inclined
-Van Helsing jump has various buildings that can be spawned from things like bricks in a week or so

>>
>>43622293
I assume it'd be something like, you can convert nearly anything to data with applied energistics and store it as long as you maintain power to something. Then use video powers to quickly assemble your data construct from storage into reality.

>AE is the ultimate storage solution; instead of storing your items physically in various configurations of folded space or pocket dimensions, you can store them digitally, in specially designed matter-energy storage drives

Video Conduit powers work by creating hardlight projections from electric and photonic sources. Eugene's dorky super angel boss level seems to imply they can somehow be used to simulate large swathes of infrastructure-and pull people into them. Or project them outside the computer, to an extent, since Eugene was using the giant angel form in the final battle.

Applied Energistics teaches you to create matter-energy storage systems. Thus, if you have the Conduit power it may be possible to create portable devices storing digital constructs of things you want to build-namely, architecture-and projectors of some sort to display them, and then use your Video powers to yank 'em out of virtual reality when you need them. Wave your hands to build a bridge across a river, shore up a wall with a hardlight simulacrum of the missing chunk, test that new circuit design you'd normally be unable to build outside of virtual reality-the possibilities go on. The insight into matter-energy conversion may or may not also provide you with some new tricks for using your powers.

That's pretty cool!

I'm not sure about the aesthetic, though; I'm going for a dimensional hobo with a bindle and a scruffy dog companion. I don't suppose there's any way of duplicating that trick with, like, magic beans and a plant aesthetic or something?
>>
>>43622427
Not sure but, probably! It might be slower to get going but you could start with geneforging some specialty plants. There's more than enough biological engineering type jumps that you could plunder for powers.

I mean, if someone can build a hyper-space god-tree in soul garden, then weaving bridges from tree roots shouldn't be too hard right?
>>
>>43622427
Webmage spellcasting might be of interest. In the books the off-the-cuff sort of spells are described as being whistled in binary/hexcode/etc. One such spell converted gasoline into dinosaurs.

Whistling a tune and having some magic happen seems pretty vagranty.

>duplicating that trick with, like, magic beans and a plant aesthetic or something?

Er...geez, that sounds more like Red or Konata's area of expertise but we'll try.

Secrets of Nature from Pikmin apparently lets you cultivate architecture from plants? Not sure how quick it takes or the complexity of what you can build, though

Sword Plant from King Arthur does let you plant and grow any mundane object, like growing a hive from a bee

The Sadida origin from Wakfu does all kinds of whacky plant construct/automaton stuff, often involving dolls

Really, really depends on whether you consider game or lore mechanics taking precedence, but apparently night elves grow their architecture rapidly from trees. Usually it's the wisps that swirl around empty ground until a building sprouts up, but maybe if you're a druid you can figure out how they do it?

Theoretically high level biomancy from Dresden Files could do it, though you'd probably need Power to Burn and Fine Control. There's only one known expert biomancer, and so far he's done shapeshifting and rain dance. It would definitely help if you had Seelie magic, Soulfire and a Job Offer with a nature elemental/deity/spirit/Eldest Gruff.
>>
>>43622640
More than just the one known expert biomancer.
Ivy is pretty much a level 20 in every magic system in Dresden Files, just limited by the fact that its current incarnation is like, 11 and thus doesn't have the brute force of their magic yet.

>>43622584
Hard to say. If their deaths are any indication, their reach seems to be global? Ares gets kaiju-big in his fight with Kratos, and Zeus is apparently more powerful without sizeshifting. Poseidon was able to overpower Gaia with this kaiju-hueg water construct shaped to look like horses.

That said, they tend to resort to punch magic or element blasts a lot of times.

And don't get me wrong. I totally don't do the huge superfortress thing all the time. In fact that's actually the exception rather than the rule (but it's a really fun exception, so I like to tout it). But even in a jump like Winnie the Pooh, I had a little house by a stream with a water wheel that I build little gadgets in. Like, garage laboratory grade gadgets. Most of them didn't do much except shoot steam and buzz around, but Christopher liked them, and that's what matters.

But hey, that doesn't mean you can't do it. That sounds like it would be a pretty cool chain to hear stories about. So keep us updated on that!

Alright, we argue about elements here a lot sometimes, but let's discuss a specific matter - should an Earth-specced Jumper focus more on sand, stone, or metal?
>>
>>43623533
Stone would probably be the easiest
>>
>>43623533
I'd go with metal. It has the most utilities when in a portable form (Lockpicks, projectiles etc), can be found in natural regions if you dig deep enough and most spaceships and robots are made of metal whereas sand and stone are often inacessible in higher tech settings.
>>
>>43623533
Mud because it is earth paired with superior water.
>>
>>43623533

You forget actual earth - as in soil. That's the route to plant and life based applications.
>>
>>43622891
Even if they aren't big enough, Power Rangers has a perk to let you grow things like that. Grow Monster Grow, I think is the name of it.
>>
>>43623568
Well, not necessarily. Ceramics would fall under sand and or stone, and ceramics are used in all sorts of things for tech: circuit boards, armor, etc.
>>
>>43623967
And metal is worked into hinges, motors, circuits-all the bits of the machinery that either tell it what to do or leverage other bits to make the whole construct move. Why bother manipulating the ceramics when you can bend the circuits within out of shape?
>>
>>43623995
I'm not saying that metal isn't a good way to go: it is. I'm just saying you're not asses out IF you decide to go sand and stone.

Chose Priscilla, as she's basically an outcast who did nothing wrong. Not exactly an easy sell though, I think. In fiction such long-lived beings tend to be amazingly stuck in their ways, and given that Seath is her father there's some undeniable awkwardness there given that he's currently batshit insane.

As for the rest of the setting... killed off some dragons and most of the big horrors, threw hollows into the repaired asylum - which is *not* really helping in the long run, but was all I could do at the time. Cleaned out the mad things from Anor Londo (and everywhere else) and instituted golem repair and pacification patrols.

Didn't have a solution for the Flame - but it was rekindled near the end, so the Chosen will only burn for a little while.

Reduced blighttown to ashes, tried and failed to drain the corruption from the sisters - but didn't make it worse - arm-wrestled Manus and made the Fire Keepers more comfortable.

Basically just holding the setting together and keeping a bit of hope aflame for the Grand Return.
>>
>>43625198
Failed to drain corruption? What methods have you used?

Also, it says in setting that Spiritual Power could be used instead of souls for stuff. So arguably if you jumped stuff that had Spiritual Powers like Bleach... Dunno if Shaman King is a jump, Naruto is kinda a mix... but arguably these sources of your energy replenish as you rest, so you could just pour them into the main bonfire to have it not require chosen undead to sacrifice himself or such.

Dresden Files and Harry Potter are completely incompatible. Dresden uses willworking with words as focuses; Potter uses specific spells with words as incantations. Dresden has focuses made of items with a sympathetic link to the user. Potter has magic materials. Dresden potions have ingredients to focus the will, Potter again has magic materials... Basically, Dresden magic is an art, Potter is a science.

Not to mention how casually the Laws of Magic are broken in Potter. Everything except for 1 (and 7, I guess) is strictly ignored.

Clearly they're not the same system, but that doesn't mean you can't plug them into each other to create interesting products.

To be fair Dresden magic's laws aren't laws in the physical sense, more guidelines to stop you from going mad with power and being summarily executed by the Council.

Breaking laws 1 through to 5 merely taints your will-and by extension, your magic-with a sort of cloying taint that's the metaphysical manifestation of your willingness to hurt and abuse others with your own power-but hey, it doesn't adversely affect the power of your spellcasting per se. It's not clear what breaking 6 does although general consensus is that temporal paradoxes are bad, and 7 is truly there for your own safety because the Outsiders are fucking betentacled assholes that eat magic and shit hate for all mortal and probably most immortal life.

So hey-after the jump ends, go nuts! Kill armies with fireballs and acid and frost beams! Turn people who have you at gunpoint into frogs-or frog-shaped human-sized masses of flesh if you don't know what you're doing! Invade the bejeesus out of their minds, it's funny! Enthrall everyone who doesn't give you correct change! If there isn't a properly administrated afterlife, reach beyond the borders of life all you want!

Once you're outside Mab's Accords there's no governing body to regulate your thaumaturgy, no Council to hunt you down, no Sidhe to take offence against you! So don't ask what could possibly go wrong, ask WHO COULD POSSIBLY STOP YOU!?
>>
Okay, now.

Is it possible to somehow actually kill Arceuid? I assume that you either need to be of Darksiders power level or even go as far as Dragonball power level in which case it would only be possible after you got the spark.

I mean, the fact that Shiki COULD see the lines on her at day but barely means that she could still be killed. Killing the world around her weakened her so that she had the points of death even at night.

Also, I only know it from reading a bit but apparently her Archetype: Earth self wanted to kill herself but at the same time kill all humans...? Does it apply to anything that originated from Earth or simply anyone that is ON earth right now? As that would be easy fix. Hell, destroy moon and planet and she is severly weakened if not dead...

Am I right in any way?

First, killing Archetype earth would kill everyone connected to Alaya. Life on the planet would survive, but not humanity, likewise if you were to kill Gaia, then you would kill life on the world, but not humanity. However you would likely be connected to Alaya, not sure exactly how to stop that but I think a reality marble might help separate you.

As for killing Arc, just having some way to beat her, and the If it Bleeds perk from 80s action movie.
>>
>>43626512
I hate the TRULY IMMORTAL life. As in, ones that require absolute bullshit to defeat them, like as mentioned above, Arceuid.

If it's just immortal as in unaging and it regenerates but it is like Lich Phylactery regeneration or like Cell or Buu, I don't feel a need to kill them.

Arceuid that can kill in her Archetype:Earth persona all the humans as she said it, without any problems? Goodbye.

Shodringer's Alucard? Fuck you, not letting you absorb that little shit, even if you wouldn't be there when my time is up. I will kill the little shit myself somehow to keep Alucard at his regular power level.
>>
>>43626607
But Archetype Earth could choose to exclude two humans when she wanted to kill herself, she promised that much.

So it's clear that it was not her death causing death of humanity, but simply eiether them being on Earth on that time or her killing humanity JUST BEFORE her own death.
>>
>>43626607
So in order to kill Archetype Earth the anon who wants to kill immortals has to basically sacrifice all of humanity to do it?
>>
>>43626512
You can also represent with the Gatekeeper, since he seems like a pretty cool guy who took out the Mad Nigga Alhazred, aka the guy who wrote the Necronomicon.

Granted, he would probably be very interested in how you got that info, but probably not enough to kill you for knowing. And he's got a cool eye.
>>
What powers or abilities would a traditional/mythological moon rabbit have? I have the opportunity to be one but I'm drawing a blank on specifics.

Probably something to do with purity or virtue but I'm open to opinion.
>>
>>43626676
Mab would also be someone who knows but she probably would kill you for knowing. Some of the oldest active Hunters would also probably attempt to lay your ass out.
>>
>>43626736
>in before "ask Red" joke gets made

Well, the Moon Rabbit is the servant of the goddess Chang'e, and brews the Elixir of Life for her. So alchemy powers could work.
>>
>>43626736
Well, you should be able to make rice cakes, for one.
>>
>>43626607
>>43626661

Actually, yeah. It seems that killing Archetype Earth will not kill humanity. She seems to be more of Gaia instead of Alaya... But I only know this from reading wiki so I could be wrong as all fuck.

Anyway, Gaia is more of Planet itself while Alaya is humanity's collective uncounsciousness or such so I assume that one can kill Archetype Earth without killing humans.

Not that I think anyone would miss anyone from Tsukihime
>>
>>43626658
She could likely remove her connection to those two. Anyway Archetype Earth is Alaya inhabiting Arc, and Alaya is what humanity formed when it split from Gaia. Gaia is the will of the planet to survive, while Alaya is the will of humanity to survive. Besides Archetype earth may have meant to die by killing all humanity such to kill itself, or maybe her death would equal the death of humanity, I'm not sure which, but the two are likely very connected.
>>
>>43626736
A lot of the myths of the Moon Rabbit have it willingly sacrificing itself to help others. So something to do with transferring life force, maybe?
>>
>>43626746
> Dealing with Mab willingly
> Anytime

About on par with cutting a deal with a Shadowrun dragon for "Top Classic Blunder". Not that I blame Mab for being cautious considering the danger of the Outsiders.

Can't remember if Vadderung is in the know, but he'd probably be reasonable.
>>
>>43626766
Alchemy huh? Yeah that makes sense. Damn useful too.

>>43626776
Fuck yeah. Those things are delicious.

>>43626804
Interesting. I can see that fitting in with the setting really well. Do you think mana could qualify as life force too? Cause I'm set for life if so.

>>43626856
Yeah, I think mana transferring could be counted under that theme.

Point, but we wouldn't say that's conclusive anon. Dependency doesn't disprove cosmic contempt against ensouled, organic sophonts; look at how the Red Court treats humans.

Also unless I've mixed something up, I could've sworn the Oblivion War entities are an entirely different set of beings from the Outsiders-which are apparently infinite and have been fighting to break in since before the Winter Court existed as a defence mechanism at the Outer Gates

>>43626492
Not entirely sure why you'd want to bother but-if you really do, why don't you just shoot some vortex torpedoes at the planet from aboard the Light of Terra?

Hellfire would probably work too. As would Balefire; both operate by erasing something's existence on a metaphysical level.

An Angel Blade from Supernatural may or may not get the job done; Angels there are proper Old Testament eldritch horrors with "innate" complete immortality, and they're forged to kill them. We hypothesise that given her symbiotic nature with Gaia, you'd have to repeatedly stab her, and maybe shove her into a bounded field akin to Araya's field before sacrificing her in a ritual circle designed to ground out her powers or curse her or something.

Mordite would definitely destroy her, being both alien from Gaia and metaphysical anti-life. The problem is-Archtype: Earth is likely to have extreme amounts of willpower, and might just sling it right back at you.

An extremely high level Artificial Causality Weapon, Nox Nyctores or Ars Armagus could probably annihilate her too given how one was used to erase an immortal ghost powered by hate.

We're actually not quite sure what would happen if you threw warpfire at Arcuied.

Finally, if you have Medium Candidate and the Coyote Tooth Gift from Gunnerkrigg Court you should be able to literally sever her connection to Gaia with the tooth, and then kill her as you would a normal human girl.

>Archtype: Earth

Anything that originated from Earth
>>
>>43626797
Hm, I see... So one would have to find a way to remove her connection to others...

Question, how much power do you THINK would be required to kill Archetype Earth off? What jump would allow one to be on arguably high enough power level for that?
>>
>>43626736
You'd probably be able to breathe in space, for one.
>>
>>43626897
> I could've sworn the Oblivion War entities are an entirely different set of beings from the Outsiders-which are apparently infinite and have been fighting to break in since before the Winter Court existed as a defence mechanism at the Outer Gates

All them spirals must have effected your memory. Oblivion War was to banish the Old Ones, who use the Outsiders as foot soldiers and servants. Pretty sure they are gone gone, but the outsiders are still pissed and trying to fuck reality up.

Can someone explain to me what Light of Terra is? Googling it seems to take me to odd sites or somethin

1. A series of jumps

2. The reward for finishing said series if you don't break the Deadlight, which houses your powers should you choose to not break it

3. A Gloriana-class 40K battleship
>>
>>43626997
It's a jump set in Warhammer 40K, named after the ship it centers around. The ship itself is canon, being somewhere in the Koronus Expanse if I remember right.
>>
>>43627030
So for it to be a series of jumps, it has to be a setting.

Explain the setting.
>>
>>43626886
Considering my mana pool is deeper than the abyssal fucking plain I'd say this plan is now perfect.

>>43626954

>>
>>43627030
You get the ship whether you break the Deadlight or not. It just has fewer free upgrades if you do.
>>
>>43626979
>they are gone gone
No, there's more than a few that are still active. Not enough mortals recall them yet but human cultists like the Stygian Sisterhood and others still seek to bring back those whose names are still in human memory. Dresden's been a pawn in the great war a couple times but the Archive had some loyal agents in the area looking out for him. A couple certain white court vampires are actually amongst a very very small pool of entities trusted with the tasks of the Oblivion War.
>>
>>43627042
>>43627078

What makes it so different from regular 40k that it's a separate SERIES of jumps?
>>
>>43627092
Oh yeah, mixed that up-I was thinking of the other reward.
>>
>>43627105
Same reason we have multiple 40k jumps focusing on different races.

It's a big galaxy.
>>
>>43627105
Because 40K is one of those settings too vast to be adequately represented by a single jump, so the idea of the separate ones is to depict different facets of it.

Commoragh jump is self-explanatory

Regular 40K jump is Imperium of Man-focused

Eldar Jump will look at Eldar lifestyles

And Light of Terra is-I believe the idea is basically kind of like those scenarios in Dirge's jumps, where you're thrust into a challenging environment and have to figure out how to find your feet
>>
>>43627105
Babylon Anon being crazy, mostly. He put way too much work into it.
>>
>>43627105
Because really horrible jumpers can get Cultist-Chan. The monsters.

In all seriousness, 40k has been agreed upon as a series where multiple jumps are necessary to have fun. Beyond that, LoT is a well crafted jump + DLC which offer a lot of different unique goodies.
>>
>>43627177
There's no such thing as too much work.
>>
LoT is proof of what I keep saying. If you do a good enough job on something, it justifies itsself.
>>
>>43627239
Not really? More like if a franchise's setting is extensive enough, more than one jump might be justified to make sure you get to explore all of it. Like Index and Raildex jump.
>>
40k Redux, if you choose Blank. Are you barred from buying Psyker in LoT? Also does it block magic & other psychic stuff as well?

Also the drop-in capstone, what good is it outside the 40k verse? Also can you be a Blank & Navigator? Does the Navigator come with the Navigator powers, like anyone viewing the third eye goes into a coma.
>>
>>43627282
>More like if a franchise's setting is extensive enough, more than one jump might be justified to make sure you get to explore all of it.
Also D&D. There's tons of settings there that fall under that banner that'd be great fodder for jumps. Shoot, even the settings themselves, ie Forgotten Realms, could rate multiple jumps.
>>
>>43627295
Nope on the first, and I think Kanons mentioned the more similar it is to how 40K psyker powers work, the more it'll block other stuff.

No idea about the rest, though I suspect being a Blank Navigator is a bad idea.
>>
>>43627295
It only bars you from buying psyker in 40k, apparently you do end up something somewhat like a Sensei if you buy psyker in LoT, and blank in 40k. Don't recall about the rest of it though.

>>43627512
That doesn't change the question about what jumps have you made.

And so only general knowledge of Warhammer 40k would be enough for LoT jump if one jumps it?
>>
>>43627552
I didn't know shit about 40k when I jumped LoT. I just made my build and asked about it afterward. I'm pretty happy with how things turned out.
>>
>>43627552
ARIA, Biomega, Dark Cloud, Final Fantasies 0,9,10,12,12RW,13 1 through 3, 14, Crystal Chronicles, Five Star Stories, Recettear, Ragnarok Online, Warriors Orochi, Zoids Legacy.

If you're looking for examples of scenarios, Ragnarok Online has the most in terms of numerical variety where 14 is the largest in terms of scenario complexity. I'd avoid 13-3 personally, since that's probably my weakest jump, and ARIA is probably the easiest to understand.
>>
>>43627552
I didn't know much about 40k until I jumped Redux. I made my build, based off of what was in the doc and some quick reading. That lead to a pretty neat story that sorta got out of control in LoT and those two jumps, Redux and LoT, pretty much changed the direction of my chain.
>>
>>43627508
Just remember, don't fuck with Dresden and especially don't fuck with the Archive. The world as we know it may end if you fuck with Dresden, but the universe ends filled with Old Gods if Ivy is lost.

All those other things Ivy says that the Archive is for? Lies. Its a pure weapon and the perfect mastermind, logistics, and spy that is the only reason that the Oblivion War has progressed more or less so smoothly in reality's favour.

It also holds the names of the Old Ones for a thousand+ years, till it is completely sure it is the last one in reality that knows the name. Then it deletes it and thus deletes the Old One.
>>
Now, I want people to outline all possible ways or options to increase size of a companion waifu. Even if it's not permament and only for duration of the jump or such, give me the ways.

Now important question. I've been looking at Digimon jump. It's not bad, it just has some typos or it's kinda eye hurting. Now, I know remaking jumps leads to shitstorms but I am not asking to remake a jump.

What I'm asking is if it is possible to keep all the content of a jump and just put it into an easier to read format that strains eyes less or looks better, but changes none of the text beyond fixing typos?

If it is also shitstorm causing, I'm sorry I didn't know that is why I asked.

It's not so much deleting the old one. Rather it's removing a method for it to access our world. (Also, I don't think that applies to _all_ kinds of mystical/eldritch/etc beings, just some kinds of them are dependent on mortal knowledge of them to be able to access our world, IIRC.)

>My 40k Experience: The Synopsis

My first 40k jump was Redux and as stated I didn’t know much about the setting. I rolled Isstvan V, but didn’t pay much attention to it and went about setting up my build. See below:

>Sister of Battle: 54 years old
>Shield of Piety
>Imperial Creed
>Cleansing Fire
>Faith Powers
>Blank
>>Culexus
>>Restraint

>Penitent Gear
>Kill Team: 8
>Elite Gear
>Dosh: 500 Thrones

>Audit of DOOM
>Marked

So without knowing anything about the events of the Horus Heresy, and not really caring either, to be honest, I get thrown into the middle of things. Using Faith Powers and Song Magic I was able to save a lot of lives and distinguish myself. This proved complicated, as there weren’t any records of my existence. The Administratum them crawled square up my ass and stayed up there for the duration of my time in Redux. A group of Sororitas that I fell in with during the fight more or less fell in with me, and were curious about the nature of my powers. I tried to stay theologically neutral, and didn’t comment on myself or the Imperial Cult, I just made a lot of pro-Terra statements and went about my business. This led to rumors about my nature, divinity, and the like. I tried to discourage this talk, and thought that I had it more or less taken care of, but apparently not as I drew the attention of a nascent Chaos Band. We fought off and on for the remainder of the jump, but my band of Sororitas and I were able to finally defeat them just before getting completing the 10 years for the jump.
>>
>>43628773
Cue some awkwardness when, in the next jump, I have to explain to my new companions that I’m not actually female. I explain that and my powers and relationship with JC during my next jump, a return to Tenchi Muyo!.

A few jumps later, we hit LoT. I didn’t break the Deadlight and chose Tuesday. Once I made it to Heathen Trail, and we had some down time, the Choir of Righteous Fury related to me just who their patron was. Me. I had been canonized, much to my irritation and the amusement of my first band of Sororitas. They started making more frequent cult and worshiping jokes, and eventually let the Choir in on the joke. So that revelation, coupled with their infatuation, pretty much sealed the deal for me with them. They were devoted to me, completely, whether I liked it or not. My Redux Sororitas didn’t do anything to help this, instead they fanned the flames by twisting the Imperial Cult and related worship around our antics.

When half writing that bit, I made myself look back over my chain and realize that I had, in point of fact, been acting . . . like a benefactor for humanity. That’s when I stopped being a lone wanderer and really doubled down on being a protector and progenitor for humanity. The Sororitas feigned worship became less a joke as time went on and my relationship with the Choir became more serious as well.

And that’s a synopsis of my 40k experience and how I went from being a multiverse tourist to being the Progenitor of Mankind.
>>

>>
>>43628061
Similarly God of War has that perk cost 500 CP with no discounts and companions only get max of 300 CP to choose from.

Pacific Rim changes their physiology into that of Kaiju.

FF12... well, it is there, not much but is.

Gears of War works but boost is small but it's something.

Transformers has it only apply in your transformer form.

Macross ain't finished yet, no?

Spyro... Can't exactly find it, must be blind, alternatively it's dragon only.

FF10 one is temporary
>>
>>43628786

>>
>>43628830

Technically, there is one way to get size changing shaneanigans without limit.

You have to, ugh, take the Johnny Test jump and get tech of the Test Sisters. They once managed to shrink Johnny so much he got into another universe, and the Sisters from that universe reversed it so that it grew him back in size to regular universe, so arguably if one shoots it at regular sized person...
>>

What are you looking at? I see no mention of them getting CP at all. Well, it doesn't matter.
