Blood Angels are up there with the Ultramarines in terms of fame and being loved by the people of the Imperium, but they get shit on by the Inquisition and friends because of their mutations.
But their Primarch is more or less second only to the Emperor because he, ya know, died fighting Horus

Oh shit the Black Templars fans showed up. Kinda sad to see my peeps Blood Ravens lower than Ultramarines. Thousand Sons are still doing well. Word Bearers still a bit behind (come on who doesn't like an army that actually has Charisma as their main stat?)

Somebody give me the lowdown on Black Templars. What makes them so cool? I feel like they would also tie with Blood Ravens as my favorite SM Chapter considering my two favorite CSM are Thousand Sons and Word Bearers.

They are vampire angels in space. Sanguinius their Primarch is arguably the strongest Primarch (if we disregard the fact that Horus was given a fuck ton of Chaos gifts to be boosted to that power) and the most bro/selfless one, too. Everybody got along with the guy. Hell even Horus felt like shit when he killed him and even tried to turn the guy before doing so. Sanguinius also basically soloed the defense of the Imperium against a fuck ton of demons, and while he was wrecked by Horus was also responsible for creating the crack in his defense that the Emperor was able to take advantage of and kill Horus.

Blood Angels also have some cool as fuck characters like the old as shit Dante, the mysterious Sanguinor, the utter badass Mephiston the only guy to overcome the Red Thirst (explained below) and is as a result one of the most powerful psykers not just Librarians in the galaxy.

They also have the Red Thirst and Black Rage which are both results of Blood Angels going crazy/having mutations because those that get those have this weird dreamlike experience where they were in the shoes of their Primarch when he stops a shit ton of demons and dies to Horus causing them to go crazy. The Chapter has particular type of Chaplains for keeping these guys in check because the vampiric strength that they get as a result is still pretty useful (thus the Death Company.)

What? No. Tzeentch had fully intended for both Thousand Sons and Space Wolves to not come out of that. Tzeetnch doesn't give any help till the very end when he realized just how far Magnus was willing to go to spoil Tzeentch's plan and respected Magnus enough for that.

They loved it though. Their Primarch realised what they/ he had become and an heroed via Callidus.

I am going to say the Sons of Antaeus, as they are the bulwark against which the enemies of mankind are sundered. When nearly all others from the Cursed 21st were casting their ties to chaos, the Sons stood stalwart with the Imperium.

Condemned by the Inquisition and largely forgotten by all others, the Sons still choose to err on the side of the God King!
