Ok guys, uh, Sergeant left and now we kind of have to clean up all these dead bodies of cats and guardsmen. Great..
Continuing from last thread, horde of cats attacked the guardsmen in the bunker, many died on both sides
>>
Does anyone want me to... modify their lasguns to be more effective? I assure you that there is AT MOST only a 40% chance of later explosion.
>>
Cool, I'll let yall know when I'm ready to fight the Lictor
>>

Good that a Lieutenant is still there. Shood we shove them in a mass grave or just burn them?

I do believe that 4chan ate my last post.

Does anyone want a free servo skull? I have many extras!

A while back. First day on Mara. I was on third wave of troops, to investigate where we were as navigation had malfunctioned. We were en route to Tranch, but instead got stuck on Mara. The chaos was... I don't... Cold... Dark... Flashes everywhere, frozen corpses, the buzzing, the hunger, the bugs... All happened so fast. Out of hundreds of thousands... A few hundred got off the frozen rock, most to get executed. Mister I got me here instead of the chopping block, and I like it. Plenty of food, I'm allowed to hunt... It's just great here.

Well, The techpriests have already shown me pretty much everything you can do with a hellpistol without breaking it, and they're pretty hard to come by so i'll pas -

Quick question as I could not join last thread in time: did you guys get out of the complex? And if so, what kind of environment is it outside? Jungle? Urban...?
>>
>>43563632
I've not left yet Hank, I'm still debating whether it's a good idea.
I mean the other part of my trip is to get one of my troops some combat experience, but you don't just send a rupert against a damned Lictor. Especially not -this- rupert.
>>
>>43563755
It is your choice, sir. We're too busy trying to clean up this mass of dead bodies.
>>
>>43563755
*clears the barrels of the crank cannon* Lictor? Do they hav good teeth?

I believe we're still in the general area

I'm going to go get my kit just in case.
>>
Watching from spaceship. Good now we know how they will fight
>>
>>43563744
The immediate area outside is completely cleared of anything with the previously mentioned ludicrously overarmed Chimera watching the -main- entrance. Slightly less immediate is the remains of the above ground part of the base. Beyond that is a wooded area.

I've got some basic medical training QM. I can hold you together until we find the Chirurgeon, as long as it's not too bad.

Two honest questions. Do you guys think Hell March 1 or 2 was better? Also, am I correct in thinking that the nickname 'Hellgun' only applies to Hotshots with a backpack power supply
>>
>>43564316
I'm off to sleep, have fun guys. I'll read what happened when I wake up and join if the thread is still going

Rolled 15 (1d20)

>The ambush is a utter failure and the wounded beast knows it, it has centered the whole attention of lasfire, explosives, teeth and gauss at it, and is now paying the consequences.
>It roars as it manages to push Gibbers off, but is hit by even more gunfire niw that there's no room for the guardsmen to accidentaly hit gibbers.
>A mechadentride takes away an eye and 2 of its feeder tentacles as it gets up back on its feet.

>It tries to flee back to the shadows.
>>
>>43564362

Hell March 1.

Also, no. The Hellgun is a lasgun hooked to a backpack power source to allow for infinite las-machine gunning, a Hotshot is a Lasgun that shoots a much more powerful shot.
>>
>>43564362
Hell march 1. But Red Alert 2 is still the best Red Alert game.

>>43564456
UURRAAA!
>chases after the Xeno

>>43564456

Oh shit. that's what it WANTS.

In for a credit, in for a chit, as the old man used to say. Anyone else who's going to be pursuing that thing, we need to stay close.

>>43564425
>The shot travels right into one of the remaining 5 lictor eyes, blinding it permanently.

>The creature stumbles a little but it's exoskeleton already begins to change colors as it tears a open the floor into the sewer system, jumping in.
>>
Rolled 7 (1d20)

>>43564397
Now I'm confused. That's what I thought myself, but according to Lexicanum a Hellgun is simply a Hotshot with a bigger battery. And now you say this. My mind is full of fuck.

So yeah. I should start saying Hellgun seeing as that is what I have.

Well, there's a lictor in the sewers. And the Quartermaster's bleeding out. Which someone decided to just charge after.

All these Hive-less Tyranid organisms have been held and experimented with, to be set free ONLY in case Cadia is utterly and completely lost. So we may make a victory out of a enormous defeat.

A little while after that, only a few weeks this time it looks like, another entry: 'Cryogenic systems on Major Holding Cage I malfunctioning: mechanicus intervention and assistance strongly advised.'

Don't be daft mate, if we were upper crust then I'd be calling you a filthy plebe, which you're not, and having one of my servants patch you up, instead of doing it myself.

>chuckles to himself then grabs a pair of dressings from the medkit.

Probably right about the second part though. She's not most.....'durable'. That's why I want someone trustworthy to keep her safe.
Right, airtight dressing to seal that wound then a regular one to keep it in place. You want another painkiller first?
>>
>>43567697
Heheh, you ain't so bad for a gussied up Praetorian... Nah thanks, one shot'll be fine.

But, *evil grin* I can't guarantee she won't be just... overcome with lust at the sight of this much Man...
>>
Sorry for disappearing right in the shit, I had real life stuff come up. I also realized being a master sergeant would make me the highest ranking non-commissioned officer here.

>>43567697
Say, Colour Sergeant, how'd you get that nickname?
>>
>>43568057
We won't know until she gets planetside will we?

>chuckles himself, then opens the first dressing and places it securely over the chest wound.
>follows up by gesturing for Gary to lean forward then opens the second dressing and securely wraps it around the Catachans chest.

Done. Keep your Flak Jacket off and try not to strain yourself -too- much. Ideally you'd rest up in the Chimera, but there's moonshine to be made right?
>>
>the detective finishes up in the building and walks out.

I hope you all don't mind me saying, but you guys don't all seem like the typical penal battalion.

I mean that in a good way, though - with a typical penal battalion, I'd have to kill that damn thing myself while using them all as meat shields and hope it didn't have friends this time.

What, Skellington? Family is the Govenor of the Town of Wellington back on Praetoria. It's a family tradition to carry one of our ancestors bones into battle for good luck and since my dad is already 'Wellington', well......
My old Regiment were nice guys so I can't really object.

In a normal Guard Regiment this would be(And in this one technically still is) true. But this one is....unusual. Captain Mikhailovich got put in charge after the Commissar got himself critically injured and since Arthur was apparently the closest competent person who was also well mannered, he sort of got deemed 2IC. But as long as you don't rustle his Jimmies Arthur wouldn't be likely to rustle yours. I've been meaning to bring up the issue of promoting himself to the proper rank(Colonel) to the Cpt. but I can never catch him.
>>
>>43568434
Huh. The Warhawks are a little enthusiastic about nicknames, maybe I'll claim one when I'm here? That would be a trip.

I just decided that I didn't want to be any superior officer, also having drop in my name makes it easier to identify the characters origin.
>>
What is this? Some sort of freeform?
>>
>>43568655
Yeah pretty much.
>>
>>43568707
I'd join, but it seems like the thread is dying, and I have no idea how I'd even join in the first place.
>>
>>43568552
Lets hope it's a positive nickname then, some of the guys are strange though, so you might not be so lucky.

Speaking of strange, should probably cover the whole rank situation here, which boils down to this: The Captain is superior to everyone but the full Commissar, I'm superior to everyone but the two of them and you and Gary as Sergeants are superior to everyone else. There's also a Cadet Commissar around somewhere but he's a useless shit so ignore him. It's not ideal....but until we get the ranks sorted then we're stuck with it.

I figured I should probably mention it IC as well for erm, less confusion.

>>43568434
Also just realized I said "Family is the Govenor" instead of "Father is the Govenor". Whoops
>>
>>43568741
Just choose a Guardsman type, a rank and join in. New threads are Monday's at 2PM GMT.
>>
>>43568741
Threads only dying because it's a little late so a lot of people have probably gone to bed or are now otherwise occupied. It's not hard, come up with a name, character, short backstory, and way to drop yourself in and you're good to go. At least so far as I can tell.

>>43568744
Aye sir, that is a little out of the ordinary. Thanks for the explanation before confusion came up. In any case, do you have any bolter shells? I realize it's a little out of the ordinary for a guardsmen to carry one.
>>
>>43568770
>>43568787
I think I'll look for a nice spot to jump in. Most likely during combat of some sort.
>>
>>43568787
.75 Cal for a regular Bolter aye? One minute mate.

>jogs over to the Chimera and ducks inside the rear hatch, returning shortly with a box of Bolter Rounds and a handful of magazines.

These rounds work for you?

>>43568812
There's unlikely to be any combat this thread given that it's like 20 posts from autosaging, but just duck in now if you want, remember we're just a few members of an entire Regiment. You could always fluff it as 'been here the whole time'. If not, there'll certainly be combat next Monday
>>
>>43569123
Perfect, after I got my arms and legs blown off and the Regiment assigning me here the Quartermaster gave this bolter to me as a parting gift, still getting used to it but the cybernetics help with the kick.
>>
>>43569123
>>43569201
>walks up to the Chimera, glancing at a small note

Do either of you know where I can find a Colour Sergeant Wellsley?
>>
>>43569201
>reflexively winces

Ouch. I'd say you deserve a lot more than some new limbs and a Bolter for that but, such is the will of the Munitorum.
I mean, we only got sent here because our Regiment got wiped and these guys were closest.

>>43569213
>raises a hand and gestures Ron over with a finger

That'd be me. Take a seat and I'll process you. Military expertise, years served and reason for being reassigned here.
>>
*lies down on one of the makeshift cots in a shed next to Battleaxe, downs the contents of his canteen*

Mmmmnn, yeah... Meds are hittin now...

Alright Skelly, I'll wake up if there's trouble.

Hnnn yeah, lictors... liqour... Sis... war... home... Emprah... *SNORE*

I'll be monitoring if something happens before thread dies, I'll be up awhile yet
>>
>>43569246
Please see >>43569336.
>>
>>43569336
>sits down, exactly where he was standing, and begins to yell at the top of his lungs

Of course, sir!
I am a rifleman of the 9th Logres Light Infantry. I'm not the best shot, but I don't miss too often.
I've been in the Guard for 3 months, and the reason I'm here is that I refused to comply with an execution order, sir!
>>
>>43569336
Well, y'know how it is. Just because I weigh too much for proper grav-chute doesn't mean I shouldn't still be of service to humanity.

Besides, I chose to get reassigned here specifically. I could have been an instructor or something, but being part of a rag-tag band of miscreants fighting on the frontlines sounded too much like something out of my childhood vids.
>>
>>43569359
Well I'll be damned. I didn't think it was even possible to get him to rest like the rest of us.

I doubt anything will happen desu, At least I found out to how to actually make a Catachan rest. booze, painkillers and life threatening injuries!

>>43569437
Stop shouting Trooper. And enough with the 'Sir' nonsense. I'm an NCO, not an Officer. Colour Sergeant or just Sergeant will do.
But very well, your reason for getting stuck here is acceptable, so welcome aboard. You touch the weapons on that Chimera and you die. We only just got then fixed after that Stormtrooper buggered the entire turret.....along with -all- the weapons in it.
>>
>>43569543
Oh thank the Emperor. I'm sick to death of being on edge with all these "sirs" and "ma'ams". Don't worry about me getting into trouble, I'm not the type to touch things I know nothing about.
>>
>>43569543
I could have sworn I typed "I doubt anything will happen now desu". Where the fook did Desu come from? >whimpers externally

>>43569492
Well, luckily for you, you got assigned here instead of one of the more 'traditional' Penal Regiments. By that I mean this one has decent people instead of being -full- of scum.
>>
>>43569648
Ah I see. Apparently the acronymn of "To be honest" for SOME REASON turns into "Desu". Um.....why?

>>43569606
Good, the only other thing worth mentioning is to not annoy Gary, he's that Catachan sleeping over there, he might cockslap you or something.
>>
>>43569648
Well, I'm gonna load some bolter mags then hit the ruck.

Thanks for the shells Colour Sergeant.
>>
>>43569735
You got it. From what I've heard, Catachans aren't the kind of people I can mess with and get away with.

Well, I'd better go find a place to sleep. Thanks, Sergeant.

>slowly walks away, mumbling to himself
>>
>>43569748
Think nothing of it mate, we've got to stick together in this group. No one else will after all.
Take it easy, well as easily as you can in the Guard.
>>
Well, I've got reports to write. You all keep safe. Emperor Protects.
>>
>>43569905

The Emperor indeed protects, considering how few casualties we had today. Good luck mate.

>salutes then ducks into the Chimera and makes himself comfy on a row of seats.
>>
>somewhere still in the bunker, the "tech priest" cackles with excitement. He won't be coming out for a long while.

well, good night gents.
>>
>>43570485
The Necro is cackling evilly after finding an area about 'Pylon Research'. PANIC. Also, night mate. Think I'll turn in myself soon.
>>
>>43570485
You've doomed us all, guys, now the Necron has what it wanted
