Are you open about your love for Tabletop RPG's or is it

I declare my love for the hobby openly, even trying to grab as many people along the way to join my sessions.

It's a 50/50 shot, but it hasn't ruined any of my friendships (thus far)

Yeah this way of doing things is fun. It's why i have a minimum of 2 mtg decks on me at all times.

I am open about it to people, but to look at me would obviously identify me as a nerd(unfashionable glasses, belt holster for phone, usually shirt or jacket depicting comic or videogame reference), so its not like hiding it would mean any difference.

Everything looks weirder if you keep it secret. You could lift or cook in secret and it would be fucking weird.

Board Games: Yes. They're self contained, and if they're good, everyone likes them.
40k, MtG: (When I played them) No. MtG is more acceptable than 40k, probably, but neither of them did I let on about. It didn't seem worth it.

I tell everyone. Friends, family, co-workers, casual acquaintances.

No one's been an ass about it yet. Many don't care for it, but there are other topics of conversation.

A normal opportunity to bring it up doesn't come up often. I don't really hide it, I just don't have a reason often to bring it up anyway, the times I do bring it up, it's around "so nerdy XD" friends that say they'd like to play tabletops or board games, but I find it hard to actually get most to commit. Some do though.

I started playing RPGs in the 80's so my friends and I were quiet about it until we were adults. Mainly because of the devil worship scare associated with D&D that some parents would swallow. Here is a classic one from 60 Minutes that made some parents fail their save vs fear roll:

I'm a grown ass man. I'm going to spend my time and money however I choose.

I don't shout it from the roof tops.
But I've had free moments at work so I'd spend some time putting together my campign in spreadsheets.

People ask wqhat Im doing and I tell them.
Turns out a few people used to play when they were younger. Others who haven't go "oh. Cool."

i've gotten away with telling a few stories about my campaigns when it comes up too.

Most people don't really care.

Got the job, and enjoying it so far.

Open about it, and if someone leaves me for liking rpgs then they're not worth my time. Gladly it hasn't happened yet.
