You have 10 seconds to name a better fantasy artist than rebecca guay.
I like Rebecca Guay's work, but it isn't necessarily the best for every time of fantasy tone.
But that's not how you spell Johannes Voss.
UH HUH, YOU KNOW WHO IT IS
EVERYTHING I DRAW, I DRAW IT BIG
YEAAAH, UHHH HUH
PROPORTIONS? REALISM? THATS NOTHIN'
WHEN I PULL OUT THE SHARP EDGES, THATS SUMTHIN
I found it, thanks anyway though. If anyone finds this in higher res please post it
Your next party consists of 5 characters - each of a different class and race, and each drawn by a different artist. Beyond class and race, everything else about the character is derived from the artist drawing it.
Who do you choose?
Rebecca Guay is my favourite MtG artist, when I played I was on a quest to collect 1 of each of her cards.
I can't say she is the best fantasy artist, though. Her tone only works for certain stuff (hence her not being featured in any sets in years).
Me to anon. Me too
manga is Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou btw
Yes. I'm also implying that there are anons who can't google search
John Avon is the god of Lands.
"From the Vault: John Avon lands (now with full art)" would sell out so fucking fast.
Except for one card in M10 she hasn't done anything since Lorwyn.
WotC wanted to stop using her stuff because it didn't fit the new MtG aesthetic but her fans got hugely pissed, so as far as I can tell they gave her basically half of Lorwyn block in compensation and called it even.
I'm going to track down every single person who gave the wrong answer in this thread, and I'm going to force them to rape me.
I don't actually know many names in art.
Sure, why not?
>no Raymond Swanland
My rage has become one with the flame.
I'll take Frank Frazetta for 500.
It seems you wrote a name other than Victor Ambrus... that's heresy.
Or Jan Pospisil, his works are beautiful, and his weapons and armours are the best. Also he does comfy very well.
Richard Kane Ferguson
That's just off the top of my head. Guay is a hack who paints the exact same composition in every work she does. Terese Nielsen paints in the same general style but actually does varying compositions. She's a hundred times more talented than Guay will ever be.
"Oh, you painted yet another pale slender long-haired woman against a storybook forest backdrop?! How original! gg Rebecca Guay top notch work you've done there!"
She's a scam artist recycling the same garbage ad nauseum and she deserved to be fired.
more artists who are clearly better than guay:
>cyril van der haegen
>scott m fischer
>and many more
She used to do red and black cards, you know, way back in Masques. Some of them were even pretty good.
>that upper case H in the classic card frame
Kneel before your new god. Blanche is best.
John Bauer's paintings are pretty famous around here. Best trolls.
>implying the guy who wrote the Bible isn't the best fantasy author
Not inherently. There's no one "anime" artstyle.
Most of it is bad too, though, yes.
>and then a lot of bible was discarded because of christian council.
no, The Hebrew canon was already established and the parts of the New Testament which were judged to be non-canonical or apocryphal weren't ever part of the bible to begin with
bob pepper. His style in itself seems something taken from a high magic world. He doesnt just depict great scenes, the depicts them FROM THE INSIDE.
>and the parts of the New Testament which were judged to be non-canonical or apocryphal weren't ever part of the bible to begin with
er, the parts which may have been part of the New Testament
they never were part of it is my point
>Mark Jackson (dat Lucita)
>Lawrence Allen Williams
Giger may be one of the best artists ever in terms of art in general, but it's hard to say he's a "fantasy" artist in the /tg/ sense of the word.
Where's all the wizards and dragons and stuff? His art is all cyborg sex and grimdark mechanical landscapes.
Fuck man, Bauer died way to young.
Is that the guy who drew dem Russian Redwall covers? Too bad his art is almost impossible to find in good definition.
Yeah, fuck sewing machines.
I am guessing she just moved on to bigger and better things, like galleries, because she's, you know, an actual artist with vision. Not some autist drawing his favorite super-duper laserbeams like his japanese animes
RANDY ASPLUND-FAITH (NOW JUST FAITH) TOOK HIS WIFE'S LAST NAME
>I am married to the most amazing woman I ever met, named Ann, and she gave up living in her homeland of Sweden to be with me, so I am also the luckiest fellow I know.
>Dropped the "Faith" from "Asplund-Faith"
>His wife is from Sweden
>Asplund is a strictly Swedish name
I hate how standardized 'anime' has become due to sweatshop studios and cost cutting.
If you ever get a chance to, look up Robot Carnival. It's from the 80s and is a collection of shorts all about robots. A lot of different art and directing styles in it.
My favorite from it is the second short called Presence, reminds me a lot of Blade Runner.
YO-HO-HO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM, MOTHERFUCKERS
RKF is fine but I find a lot of hi work to be too much for a small ass card frame, it's like he starts drawing and then never fucking stops. I bet he's still drawing Korlash right now.
spaniards are laughing at you
all of you
>no Larry Elmore
For shame, /tg/.
so much shit.
so much shit in this thread
poor design, half finished crap
have some real art
Do I have to cut you up?
DP always reminded me of the older, more surreal Magic art.
Anyways, Tierese, Guay, RKF, and John "I draw the best lands" Avon have to be my favorites.
Also that guy who made the fucking awesome Goblin cards. You know the ones.
Call me a weeaboo faggot, but I prefer Yoshitaka amano's art.
I dare anything to find a artist edgier then Olivier Ledroit.
You can't beat Paul Bonner. Sorry your little lass is getting BTFO OP.
>The only way to one-up this is someone naming a japanese "artist"
Don't be a dick, anon.
I could mention Masamune Shirow ... but I actually came in here to make sure we covered Christos Achilleos.
>I subjectively don't like this artist
>I can expand on this at length, with technical details, about why I subjectively don't like him
>This magically makes my subjective opinion an objectively true fact
There are people in this thread RIGHT NOW who actually flatter themselves like this.
Rebecca Guay is my wife's favorite magic artist by far. I bought her a signed Kaysa print when we got married, and recently I managed to get her one of every magic card that has her art. Stupid Bitterblossom. Her favorite is probably Perish.
While searching our collection, I realized that I really dig Terese Nielsons stuff. No full art set forms though. Bitterblossom was expensive, but guru lands are CRAZY.
No they aren't, look again. She doesn't actually have hoof feet, her toes are just replaced with cloven hoof points. all in all it's probably because the artist was lazy or didn't know how to actually draw ungulate legs or hooves and so she just slapped hoof tips onto a regular foot.
You would've found him if you spelled his name right, fucknut.
My top 3 (no order)
Miller has best chaos art. Far too many artists just slap some tentacles on a something mundane and call it a day.
>no Adam Paquette
this is probably one of my favorite pieces of art by his, but he's also done alot of the Innistrad lands, which as you all know, are the best lands
Innistrad lands remind me a lot of Winslow Homer, who's my favorite historical artist, so that's probably why i liked it so much.
