Got a coupla hook5 questions. Has it been cracked? I don't need the cracked version, I just want to know if one exists. I don't want to contribute to the Patreon, get used to an awesome hook, and then lose it if the creator does something shitty or his DRM shits itself. Renting software is dumb. I want a backup option if he vanishes, rather than getting used to it and then losing it. And the $5 and $10 rewards tiers on the Patreon, if I get those for a month, then go back to the $1 tier, can I still use those, or are they somehow DRMed too?

There is a free version that doesn't have tessellation or hair physics. There was a leak that had tessellation but not hair physics (this leak is why the DRM was implemented).

You can still use them. All the DRM entails is sending you a key generator that you run on your pc, which generates a key that identifies that pc, and send the key back to Pervocopter. He then sends you a Hook 5 package keyed to your computer, which will not run on any other computer. You can use the download you get for as long as you want even if you cancel your patreon, you just won't get any more updates.

I tried asking him if re-installing the OS would break the DRM and got no reply. But as long as you keep using the same computer and don't upgrade your OS your download should work forever. Upgrading might break your game, might not. Dual-Boot systems probably can only use it on the OS the key generator was used in, but this hasn't been tested as far as I know. I also asked if the key generator and/or Hook 5 would work in Linux and got no answer.

...I wouldn't say a skinpaint imitation is impossible. There are also certain parts of her costume that can also be augmented with parts from existing add-ons.

It all depends on how far you're willing to go, and also how much you're willing to compromise before you can call your D.Va's imitation 'D.Va'.

I might call my Asagi imitation 'Asagi', but I only do it for the sake of conversation. I don't think I'll ever hit it right with her in game without delving into 3D modelling(her hair, katana and shoes in particular has no replacement so far). Unfortunately, I won't do that either.

Hi,
I downloaded couple of hook5 rooms from modsgarden and i am seeing some of the room icons having a red cross mark on them. I opened some of the them and all i see are rooms with no textures. Is there any way to not show rooms with the red cross mark on them when loading the room list?

Thanks for sharing! Although I can't use R9blouse37 which is used as base here. I wrote about on MG as well - if I install it, it creates duplicates of _every clothing item in the game that uses the caffe top as base_ and makes a version with that jacket on top of it. That's really weird and annoying, but NC hasn't replied to me yet about it.

Also, I don't seem to have the bump for the shorts, for some reason, just the basic texture.

can somebody please tell me what is wrong here? I am converting hook4 skins to hook5. I am using 4k textures and i have the 4k addons enabled. This is the only skin thats causing this issue. The same skin does not cause this issue in hook4. Does anyone what is happening here? And how should i fix this?

That can be a number of things..

- Do you have the latest scripts?
- Do you have the room textures? Usually the .TXX file is the basic room and the separate h5 textures go into activemod, it's the "second" version of the same room

the red x usually means the txx doesn't have any textures in it, (sometimes textureless txx's don't have an x), and you need to run the room using ActiveMod textures, sometimes the icons for activemod textures have an x thru them as well. I wish some modders would be a little more organized, I always rename txx's to include the name and if it's textureless. I like a tidy game, and backups so i know wtf i've got.

There was a .txx for the character select that covered all the default models with a black square. And another set that hid all the models in a certain category (no hentai females, no shemales, etc) but those worked because the model/body numbers were an established list. Someone would theoretically have to compile a list of all the room .txx that don't have textures and make a .txx to hide everything on that list. And you'd have to keep updating that .txx every time someone made a new stage with no textures.
Until someone who knows how to do that gets fed up with the X's enough to code a mod for it, you'll just have to scroll past them.

One *tiny* little nitpick, though. Constructive criticism, really. In the animation where the kid steps forward and puts it in her mouth, his hands stay perfectly still relative to the room/camera when he's humping her mouth. Having them swing back just a little when he pushes forward, maybe roll the palms just slightly to the front or back with the thrust would make it look a lot more natural. Anything that keeps them from being frozen in space while everything else is moving.
(loved the pose where the sister has her arm around him while he fucked the mom, btw)

Using 4x skin textures without the mod messes up the face (pic). Eyebrows and make-up don't line up right. Also clothes aren't affected by the 4x mod, only skin textures. The sequence is just trying to load clothes that he doesn't have in Activemod.

Only the stockings there are actual textures. Those other files are saves for outfits. Start the game, slect a character, and click "customize". Then right-click and go to "Outfit" and look for the icons from that download and click on them.
I'm willing to bet either the same thing happens or you get a naked character.

You either need to locate the clothes that are in the sequence or save a different outfit (dress your character and save the outfit over the one from the download) in that same numbered slot.

It *could* be that the skin texture you're using is missing files, but the character is probably supposed to be dressed at that part of the sequence. If that character looks normal in freemode/customize then it's definitely the clothes.

When I tried to save over those slots the sequence just loads up with a naked model.

I don't actually use the sequencer, so I don't know what idiosyncrasies it has for equipping costume pieces. I downloaded the pack and tried the stockings and the outfits in Customizer, but I also don't have those clothes so the only thing that showed up were the stockings. They did show up looking more like panty hose than stockings (the lace band was around the waist like in your pic) but they didn't black out the rest of the body. I dropped the.tgc in community/sequencer but when I started the game it still showed 0 Sequences Available for the Campground stages.

Just getting started using the game. I got the basics working, base game only. I downloaded a few sequences off modgarden. I put the .tgcs for each into \community\sequencer. When I start up TK17, it says something about importing 4 new sequences. All good but....

I can't find them at all. 3 of them take place in the loft. When I go to new scene -> storymode, and go to the loft, I only find the two sequences that come with the game. So where do I find ones I manually installed? Thanks!

Oh and one silly question: how do I verify that Hook4 is running? I installed it per the instructions, but since I have no baseline, I'm not positive it's actually running.

I cant teach you how to design good looking textures. Thats like telling Frank Miller to teach you how to make The Dark Knight, or Masamune Shiro to teach you to draw Ghost in The Shell. It's art.

What you really need is to understand how light is rendered with normalmaps and speculars, and the structure of Activemod files. The former has tutorials all over the net. Then you need to think about how different materials of cloth crease(normalmap) and how their surfaces reflect light(specular).

Caligula explained the technicalities better than i ever could in previous thread.

It's just one of those vanilla body mods with minor adjustments so it works with standard clothing meshes.

I will attempt to upload some level defs eventually, but I don't know if I'm gonna upload my retexture jobs, they are huuuge. Like most of them are 4096x4096 huge, up to 30mbs for the png and another 8+2 for the norms and specs.

Bu the way, yes you can create specular maps using MindTex 2 as well.

I got it on sale for $15, one of the best purchases I've ever made. It is pretty much just a window that allows you to select a 2D image, which the program then renders on top of an object (square, sphere, etc) or you can actually open your own mesh to apply the maps as well. Ive used MakeHuman bodies converted to collada files to test TK17 body textures on with mixed success, and I'm still a little intimidated by the process of opening the .txx files to modify in blender.

But yeah, if you could convert a .txx mesh to collada format, you could easily use MindTex to create skin maps.

I'm just starting to get the hang of texturing in TK17, actually modelling things still scares me.

And no, AFAIK, you cannot edit or make textures in blender. Blender is for modelling purposes only. But you can take add-ons and rig them on 3d models in blender. I would like to learn on how to do that.

As requested, i am providing you an archive that has the original hook4 normal and specular files. These files are known as malebody_m1.dds and malebody_m2.png. I created their hook5 equivalent normal and specular files with the names malebody_m1_n.png and malebody_m2_s.png.

But if you try them out on a male body in your game, you will see that the skin texture is very rough and it does not retain the muscular abs like it did in hook4. I would like to render the muscles on a smooth and shiny skin like your textures rather than a sandpaper one. The muscle bumps are required to be light but visible rather than very muscular.

Tell me what am i doing wrong and what shud i do to fix it? How can i make normal and specular files retain the bump definitions (muscles, veins etc) without making a sandpaper skin ?

Does anyone know how to create smooth and shiny skin textures in GIMP/Photoshop ? Google is not helping in searches like smooth normal maps or smooth specular or smooth 3d skin textures...

I have already tried Gaussian blur, but this causes the skin to lose its bumps and textures. So, if the skin has muscles, contrasting it and then Gaussian blurring it out causes the skin to lose the bumps and details.

Any help on this is appreciated.

So you're wanting to smooth everything except the dark outlines for the muscles?

Make a duplicate of your texture. Colors>Desaturate
Colors>Brightness-Contrast, turn contrast way up and brightness halfway down so everything turns white except the features you want to keep
Highlight the layer (in the Layers/Brushes tab), right-click, Add Alpha Channel
select white for the paintbrush
Select>By Color, click on the white part of the image
CTRL+X

You now have a layer of just the muscle definition that you can paste back over your smoothed-out texture. You may want to experiment a little with how far to adjust the brightness and contrast, and what to set the Threshold for the "Select By Color" operation to, these will affect how much of the detail you keep and how much you cut. You may also want to set the paintbrush to "Lighten Only" to change the desaturated details to a different color (it won't paint the transparent parts) to do whatever it is you do when you make bumps/normals/specular/whatever it is you're doing.

His skin textures are so smooth and shiny without losing any definition.

I'm pretty sure the lordhunt repack magnet is broken, I left it on my seedbox for a week and it's still at 0%.
