Higher quality files are always preferred and can be converted down using Handbrake (https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php). Usually matching your phone's resolution and/or lowering FPS to below 60 will suffice, but see the rest of this thread for more details.
Gear VR videos are best viewed using the Samsung Milk VR app. There are different projection settings that work best with each studio's content which can be changed via an in-app button or by appending tags to the filename (some are still unsupported by the in-app button) which can be found here: https://milkvr.com/#/content/faq

In an effort to help people know what settings to use for Handbrake, these next 3 posts will show the video details of the same BadoinkVR clip in all 3 different formats. Different sites use different settings but this should give you a general idea.
Hopefully after this you will all have a good idea of how to down-sample higher quality videos to play on your device so the thread is not flooded with requests for lower quality versions of videos that are already available.
As already stated by the OP, Oculus is the preferred version for everyone to upload because videos can always be lowered in quality but it doesn't work the other way around.
This first one is for Oculus. The important things to take away from here are the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate.

This is for GearVR. As you can see everything is the same except the bitrate has dropped from 30k to 20k. The audio bitrate has also dropped, but I'm not sure how important it is, hopefully someone who knows more can chime in.

And finally the smartphone version. Although this is how it comes from BadoinkVR, you may be able to get away with higher settings depending on how good your phone is. You can see that the resolution is now only 1920 in width, and the bitrate has dropped to 15k. The frame rate is the same at 59 (it should however be noted that the BVR website says they are 60, but this is how Windows reads them), but this is most likely going to be the culprit if the video is not playing on your phone. Try lowering it to 50 and all the way down to 30 if you have to (although if you need to, you should seriously consider getting a better phone to really enjoy these videos). Lowering the bitrate to 10k can also help for phones with slower processors, though again you really need a new phone if you have to.

Yes all these settings and more can be changed in Handbrake, that's why the OP tells everyone to use it in the first post.
Unfortunately this is the new thread & a new one won't start for awhile, but hopefully this is near enough the top that everyone can see it. The OP is a smart guy he can figure out how to include it next time if he wants to.
I just hope this helps people edit their videos so everyone that's asking for lower quality versions will realize that they already have a video they can play.

It's good to note that GearVR versions (over-under) have a slight image offset and cant be converted to smartphone (not sure to oculus), unless you re align the image in software like adobe premiere or so.

One last thing I forgot to mention, when using Handbrake always uncheck auto-crop and set all four values to zero.
The reason for this is that for normal video viewing on a monitor, cropping the black bars at the top & bottom (which is what the auto-crop does) will make no difference to your viewing experience and will make for a smaller file size. However with VR the black that may be there on the top & bottom are important for focusing the image in the center of your eyes & not stretching it out.
I'm by no means an expert, but these are the things I've learned so far. If anyone has any more tips I'd encourage you to add them in this thread.

It would seem you are correct. It should be noted that I did the vast majority of this on my phone so I was only able to verify that the magnet links would retrieve the file info. I never thought I'd say it before VR, but MEGA is so much more convenient for this particular application.

Yes I was aware of that because people kept asking for those vids & saying the torrent had no seeders even though it had worked for me a week earlier.
I ended up going a little nuts trying to fill those requests for people & it ended up pissing some people off because I was reposting "the same old shit", but obviously not everyone had them and I was just trying to help.
Ideally, enough people should have them now that people with much faster upload speeds could fill the requests, but that Czech bastard monitoring this thread is probably gonna make them not bother which is why I tried do it myself.

Also there is some serious risk of motion sickness in the beginning, as they thought it would be a good idea to have you walking up to the house as the guy. I had to close my eyes to keep from puking when he started walking up stairs. What the fuck are you all talking about? There's not one that I know of.
All I did was copy over the images and working links from the dying thread. I put the info from anon's pastebin and what I know about Gear VR playback in the OP. It's up to the Cardboard & Oculus anons to contribute the relevant info for those platforms because I don't have the first clue. This isn't plebbit. This is a place for you to share the info you have not beg us to spoonfeed you.
I work 3rd shift & did it all this on my phone the other night. I was off last night so I was actually sleeping for once.
The only thing I left out was that 360 videos & standard 3D movies are better viewed in the Oculus Video app due to superior controls and environments. These should be placed in a folder named MOVIES in the root folder of your phone or SD card. Milk VR videos were required to be in a similar folder named MILKVR until recently but they are updating this feature now so I didn't include that in the OP.
Also IF MILK VR 1.46 CRASHES AFTER THE SPLASH SCREEN you have too many videos on your device. This is a bug in the aforementioned update that they are working on. The workaround is to hide your largest non-vr video folder(s) with a .nomedia file until the fix comes.

I converted it with handbrake so i can play it on smartphone, they're quite normal on it, not huge at all.

Its the player that they use, It takes the video and makes it compatible with VR Headsets. Any other VR player will do the same thing. This is how 360 videos work. That's why they are frowned upon since there are issues with it. 180 is much more accurate and immersive, which is why all of the other popular websites are using it.
A while back I contacted VR Bangers asking them to use 180 instead and told them why. Too bad they are still using 360 though

Sounds like you are running into a corruption issue if it's not even recognized by Handbrake, etc. Are you downloading the files directly to your phone from the MEGA link? This has caused the same problem for me before & it was solved by simply downloading via PC & then transferring the file to my phone. It doesn't happen every time but it has on a few videos. Also, if you have your own MEGA account (free) you can IMPORT the files rather than DOWNLOAD. The MEGA app will then allow you to preview the file via streaming & you can download it later using a computer. The file works fine as far as I can tell.

Someone may want to contact their marketing department then. A video doesn't need two images to be viewed on a headset, there are several monoscopic (2D) videos ITT. The only reason to have stereoscopic video is for 3D. I can't personally attest to the 3D effect in the HoloGirls videos (it may just be very slight or possibly badly executed) but they are, "officially" at least, 3D.

MEGA gives this warning when downloading a 4GB or larger file on a mobile device. You will run into the same issue on flash drives as well unless you first format them to NTFS instead of FAT32. I had to do this to move around some of the larger ones like Flatgrinder.

Well, AA VR Cinema doesn't have that many options so I guess that it's related to the resolution.
Didn't see that the veruca video has a 2880x2880 resolution (1:1 aspect ratio, at least according to handbrake). I guess that's the problem.

Thank you for answering, but yes that's the default I start with on all the videos. You appear to be way too close to the girls & it only looks right when your are looking straight ahead (or left & right while still straight ahead). If you look up or down it looks like gravity is 1000 times stronger on the top & bottom, like the spaghettification effect that would occur from approaching a black hole. I also found the smartphone versions in a torrent somewhere hoping it would work but it was the same. There doesn't appear to be a leaked GearVR version, so it may be as simple as that if anyone with a VRP account would be nice enough to upload them. But every other video I've come across could always be displayed properly by appending the right tags to the file name so I'm sure that's all they need. I should also say that I tried sideloading VirtualRealPlayer but they looked the same on it too. It really is driving me crazy, lol.

Be smart about this. For Milk VR 1.46 a feature was added to allow videos stored outside the MilkVR folder on your device to be seen by the app. There is a bug, however, that causes the app to crash back to Oculus Home after showing the splash screen if you have "too many" videos on your device (numbers anywhere from 100-500 videos have been thrown around as the limit & webm files probably count as well). I can't say for sure that this is the problem, but the original instructions I gave said to never share the ORIGINAL folder link that you first uploaded the files too, only share the folder copies that you made after that. In your example you lost the originals which then made you lose the copies.
Also, another thing that may not be important but is exactly how I do it, is to not import entire folders to your secondary accounts. Upload a file, get a link to it, log out & then in to your second account, import file, create folder, move file into folder. Repeat until all files are in folder of second account, then share folder link from second account.
I've never tried it any other way but exactly like that so I can't say if the minor differences you mentioned are enough to make it not work, I can only say that it definitely works as I said it does.
Do not worry about re-uploading what you already did, I have two redundant Mega accounts with all the videos you contributed (also have 7-11 from my original efforts. 1-6 was lost unfortunately before I figured out how to do this). Here's the second folder I can share without worrying about losing the first when it gets reported (continued in next post due to 2000 character limit):

You and anyone else that wants to keep them permanently on Mega for future sharing can use the two-account method I outlined above (it's a good idea to do it anyway if you need them all since they will go down pretty quick & you might not be able to get them all before they are taken down). Just remember, import them once, lose them when mine go down. Import them to a second Mega account using the links from YOUR first one after that, you get to keep the second copy (repeat whole process with second copy as your new original that never gets shared in order to share it with others).
Back to the original uploader- if you would please upload the final vids (1-6, 23, 26-31), everyone will have them all. Technically, I could do 1-6 again myself but I probably won't because my upload speed is so slow and quite frankly I've shared them so many times & given these instructions so many times that even if you don't feel like doing it I know someone else can. If no one does then they don't deserve them anyway at this point imo. If you do, you should upload 1-6 last because most people have them already anyway. I (and hopefully you and others) will permanently keep alive all the vids from this site from now on for periodic sharing as we get new arrivals to this thread.

I can't remember which version I downloaded from here but one of the handbraked ones and it seemed messed. The views were offset vertically so you just see double cause the 3D doesn't converge properly. I have fixed that and re-encoded for 60FPS. I also cropped it to a 180x180 3dh video because there was so much wasted real-estate. It's encoded at 2880x1440. I am in the process of uploading now.

Well since I've never tried them I can't say for sure but my guess would be probably not because GearVR couldn't play BDK's HSA Oculus version and that was 3840x1920. So like I said using Handbrake to convert them to 2880x2880 will most likely solve the problem for you.

About the next thread, I've got an idea that maybe people will think is good, but maybe not. I'm not even sure, it's got it's pros & cons. So no big deal if no one likes it, but I've been thinking that it might be a good idea to import the links differently so they don't take up so many of the first 300 posts.
We really seemed to have gotten our shit together this time around & there are a lot more active links to carry over than ever before. Now that we know only the first 300 posts bump the thread, I think we'd be limiting our growth due to very brief visibility on page one. Sure, most newcomers will be leechers but some may become contributors. There will only be a very short window of us being at the top, and the thread itself would have a much shorter lifespan.
The idea would be instead of a picture for every single migrated link, we'd group the links by site & use a picture of, say, the BDK logo and list the BDK links in that post. We could use an abbreviation of the video name and perhaps an imgur link right above the Mega link. So the first post might sort of look like this:

Czech needs to work on makeup and lighting. Videos have a totally different color balance than photos. The biggest problem with vr porn in general is that the action is too far away from the camera. Basic pov with stationary cam is pretty boring to be honest, even if it's shot in vr. You need to teach the chicks how to interact with the vr cam, and GET THEM CLOSER TO IT!

POV isn't the problem tho, its the tameness that comes with most POV scenes. A scene with the same intensity shot in 3rd person will be just as bad. Best scenario would be a group scene so you get both POV and 3rd person at the same time. That or very careful placement of mirrors.

I usually use 1920x1080 but since the Veruca file ITT is 2880x2880, it's square rather than rectangular, so the width is constrained by the height.
MVRS may be able to handle higher resolutions but I use a iphone 6s+ and I think that's the native resolution for that, so it wouldn't do me much good except for eating up storage space.

While I agree that it's unnecessary and (now officially) discouraged to obscure links for most content, I must assume most of you have not been around for the past 5 of these threads and cannot appreciate why HACKER has chosen to share in this way.
The content he is making available will be taken down almost immediately if he provides the direct link & almost no one will have the chance to get a copy. use handbrake.fr (website) converter and you'll have better quality then the original smartphone versions.
use 1920, 30 fps constant, no cropping, and bit rate of 8k, or higher, I always convert on 20k bitrate and they work very nice.
and if you are up to it, you can play with the frame rate to see which frame rate your smartphone can handle, lower bitrate can also boost the frame rate on some smartphones.
Example, i can run 50fps with 8k bitrate but dependent on the file size it can mini freeze some times. (also dependent on how many free disk space you got on the phone).

I explained it the last time, you need to start the non-vr trailer, then there will be a link to the 360 version of the trailer, from that you open the xml file and in that is the url for the trailer video. Then you just erase the trailer from the link.

No, I knew they were not stereoscopic 3D. They are in fact SO not 3D that they have normal-type porn video versions of all their videos. It was easiest to get because you don't even need to view source, much less an xml file. You only have to copy the trailer link & remove the word "trailer" from it (along with some stuff at the beginning & end).

There are thumbnails in the thumbs folder. In the sauce folder there is a text file for most of the videos which has the name of the studio and the actress(es). 1. Don't know, sorry. I don't think the new ones are anymore though but I'm not sure cuz I never had a membership.
2. Neither, it's 50 (both Oculus & Gear VR).
3. Both my copies are like that too, but as far as I can tell it's only the logo. The rest of the video seems to be fine.
4. Probably because a complete CVR magnet can never be taken down as long as there are people seeding it.
5. I call it smartphone because of the bitrate. Whenever I'm trying to classify a video I got "unofficially", I do it by bitrate because if you've got all or most of the others from that site it's the best way. Their Oculus vids are all 30k, GearVR are 20k, & smartphone are 15k. That one is 13.5k. That, combined with the odd resolution is probably the result of someone's custom Handbrake job by somebody that didn't entirely know what they were doing. Who knows what it started as, but it's just smartphone quality now, lol. And it's probably the only version left on the internet (including the official site) so we're not likely to find a better copy.

I don't have a paid Mega account. I just make new accounts whenever mine get full (something I wish everyone would do because I'm convinced that's the reason for all non-CVR dead links. People upload a file & share the link which is great, but then when their account is near full they remove files to make space which leaves a dead link. Except for CVR ones, every link I've ever posted is still live so I don't think the other sites are reporting anything because I did a lot of non-BDK stuff as well back before I named myself and they're all still up).
I use MegaSync, it's more stable than the website which gives strange "memory full" errors in my experience.

Thanks. I just started using MEGA Sync & I love it! I highly recommend it to everyone else ITT. You can import, preview & download files from the mobile app & they're automatically backed up to your PC.
I'm responsible for a few of the dead links for exactly the reason you stated. I didn't have Sync & had to grab some of the CVR stuff on the fly. I was planning on replacing the ones that were still missing for the new thread using a separate account.

Guys, if your phone can handle high resolution video and space is an issue then, instead of using Handbrake and therefore lowing the quality, you might instead want to trim out the parts of the video you don't like. It only takes seconds to do as well. I've saved a LOT of space as a result and can fit dozens of videos on my S6 now. I use a free basic video editor called Avidemux but you can use Windows Movie Maker too (both of them can cut/trim videos without re-encoding).

Just my suggestions but my thinking is that the OP should make clear to everyone that if they have a smartphone they can watch these. I know a lot of people are aware of cardboard but still maybe right now a lot would pass the thread by thinking they can't watch VR.
Only a small percentage actually get new stuff & share it but the bigger the number of users the more contributors we will get so I think it's beneficial to try to attract as many new VR users as we can.
Also I think a Handbrake tutorial for them would be good to, at least near the top if there's no room in the OP.

Ok I'll help with that.
Handbrake tutorial for GearVR and Cardboard users:
1. Load the Oculus or GearVR video as your source file.
2. Change the Width to 2880 for GearVR, 1920 for smartphone.
3. Under Cropping select Custom & set all four values to 0.
4. Under the Video tab select Constant Framerate. Leave it on Same As Source for GearVR, select 50 for smartphone (you may need to lower this to as low as 30 depending on how old your phone is).
5. Under Quality select Avg Bitrate & type in 20000 for GearVR, 15000 for smartphone (again, you may need to lower this to as much as 8000 if you have an old phone).
6. Hit Start.
The new video will now work on your device.

Yes the audio bitrate is on most Oculus videos (usually about 320ish) is too high for most smartphones, but Habdbrake's default is to encode the audio to 160 kbps, which is what is recommended for both Oculus & GearVR so that's why I didn't mention it in the tutorial.

S5 has very smooth motion tracking and i generally think i only feel the 60fps on the S5. The resolution and the pattern of the AMOLED screen is pretty disturbing though.
The LG G3 has a very nice screen because it's one of the few QHD IPS panels out there. It's generally more choppy than the S5 though. The general video aswell as the motion tracking. Maybe LG G4 would be a good alternative. Not sure.
I did try the S6 and the AMOLED grid is still pretty visible, but it's far better than S5 of course. But the lack of a microSD slot made it a no go for me.

It makes almost no difference that you would notice. I have the S6 but have tried GearVR on the Note 5 as well. The screen-door effect looked the same to me, but the larger FOV was very noticeable on the Note 5 compared to my S6. If I were buying a new phone right now I'd definitely go with the Edge, but I'm gonna spend that money on the CV1 though.

i did try an Xperia Z2 once, but very briefly when i still only had my iphone. It wasnt that much better. They DO have an IPS panel though, so they should clearly win against an AMOLED with the same resolution.

yes, I upload all the videos into folders in several free accounts... then import the links in other folders in other several mirror accounts and make new links to share. my original accounts links are not public so they never will be stroked. this is the P2 old school! :P
all this need about 50 accounts... and a fast upload bandwidth... and the most important thing, your videos! :)

HoloGirls resolution is stupid anyway. If you want it to work on a 1920x1080 display you'd have to go down to 1080x1080 resolution for the video. Which in turn is just awful quality. Not worth it at all for lower resolution smartphones.
If the resolution could be 1920x1080(or a bit lower) it would at least be watchable in my opinion. I have converted some other VR vids with high bit-rates and 30fps which look very sharp on image quality. Only downside is 30fps is noticeable on fast movements.
It's workable at least.

I posted instructions in this thread on how to use megui and avs scripts to have way more control over the encoding and also it has instructions to change topdown to leftright 3d. The hologirls videos do have a lot of wasted realistate due to 360 when they only need to be 180. Just crop the video in handbrake (if you insist on using that software). For a 360 Top down video all you need to do is take the horizontal resolution, divide by 4 and remove that amount from the left and the right. Example: 4096x4096 video you would crop 1024 from the left and 1024 from the right and be left with a 2048x4096 video. Depending on the final resolution outcome and FPS, you may need to shrink the video as well. To easily know if the resolution should be fine, multiply both resolutions together (horizontal and vertical) and it needs to equal about 4 million pixels if its 60fps and specifically on the GearVR.

On android download GPS STATUS and re-calibrate the sensors.
Works for me everytime they get out of sync. Or the phone gets rebooted and the sensors are out of sync again. l

Some asshole started a new thread on his own. VR_OP has been working on importing all the active links from this one for the real new thread, and this guy just goes and starts a new one without even a single magnet link in his OP, which is again the rules & will get it deleted anyway.

GearVR only works with samsung right? If it worked with other phones i would buy it also. I owned Samsung, HTC and Sony smartphone flagships, and ever since i went with Sony i never felt the need to go back. I love their build quality compared to the other brands. Even the OS is much better to my experience.

Just figured it out, it's the thread itself. Apparently 250 is the maximum number of images allowed in /t/ threads. You can tell by hovering over the second of the four numbers in the bottom right.
All the more reason for making the new thread the way VR_OP is going to, with single posts for each site using imgur links for each video instead of importing each one as an individual post with it's own image. It will make the new thread able to last longer, since we obviously need the room.

There is a bump limit of 300 replies. This means that after 301 posts replies to the thread no longer bump it to the top of the board & it slowly begins to fall lower until it gets to page 10 and is archived.
Also, as we just saw, there is an image limit of 250 so we can no longer post any images ITT which is part of our system.
Also, most people won't read through 1400+ posts so a new thread every so often with the best new info consolidated near the top is a good thing anyway.
