Downloading, I'll confirm if this is legit. So far the games seem to be all in .rar files according to deluge.

The only confirmation I'll do is if it does not contain viruses. For now the closest to download completion I find is Street Fighter III 3rd Strike.

Samefag reporting, the Street Fighter game was the first to be downladed. The file for the game is a .rar extension, verified it, no viruses, unpacked it and it shows 20 or so parts for an archive, if winrar doesn't open it, 7-zip will, inside is the game's CDI. I can be sure this torrent is legit.

I'm not too sure about the state of emulators now, but back in the day, I thought that they couldn't run CDI images, only GDI?

Keeping that in mind, CDI was the standard for burning Dreamcast images to blank CD's for piracy, since the Dreamcast has pretty rudimentary anti-piracy that was easily worked around. Now, old CDI's before we learned any better kill the Dreamcast laser pretty handily. You need to download and burn ReviveDC CDI's that are properly ripped and packed to prevent killing the laser, which are not in this torrent.

I appreciate the Dreamcast love, but it just seems like a waste of time to download an outdated collection.

I grabbed a shit load from these guys. Sometimes the downloads can be slow if the games are stored on the US servers rather than the european ones, even for american users for some reason. I should warn you, not every upload is self bootable.

Since it hasn't been posted yet, over at The Internet Archive they have a full No-Intro collection available (2015-03-03 set). They also have a torrent available with them set as a webseed if I remember right.

If you're not concerned with keeping up to date on No-Intro releases this should be fine for pretty much anyone, and even if you would like to keep up to date this would make it easier to start out at least. Only thing I don't like is that all the sets are in ZIPs instead of each game in their own archive. Though you can still use zipview to browse for individual games.

Old dreamcast player here. As we were kids back in this era the lens's degradation was our deepest nightmare. But I had decided to fuck common sense and burn roms anyway (to enjoy japanese games). So today I need to know, is that lens really died after a few uses based on true knowledge of what is optical reading of non-sega discs ?

Since my Dreamcast had keep up being pretty functionnal after all these years I've concluded it was an urban legend, but please enlighten me.
