Let's Plays are essentially watching (unfunny) comedy acts. Also it doesn't take any effort to sit on your couch and play the damn video game yourself. Watching sports is watching the top athletes in the world compete

If you're playing a sport yourself as an amateur, it's interesting to watch others implementing certain techniques, making hype plays, etc., which motivates you to get better and trying to implement what you saw on TV.
