I'm not sure they even have "taste," they just meme whatever is trending on Japanese twitter. They're all obsessed with idol shows, and over the last few years I've also seen them all move from Vocaloid to GuP to Kancolle, and in the past week or so they've all suddenly started spamming Kemono Friends stuff. (Most of it is normalfag facebook memes slapped on KF screenshots/fanart too, not even actual KF stuff.)

The main criteria for them "liking" an anime seems to be "what can I get into that 'normies won't understand' so that I can demonstrate to the world how big of an otaku I am?"
