Also SC fan, I'm a little nervous since they've had our number the past couple of years and a win here would get us ranked. But they also lost one of their better linebackers to injury this week and they haven't looked that good this year so I definitely think we should win though it might be a close one. The problem isn't that they are just bad at football. They are bad in every sport that's not wrestling, lacrosse or women's soccer. None of those are national title contenders, though. Their conference records in football, baseball, softball, basketball etc. Is so unbelievably bad. At least schools like Purdue and Indiana who may not be good at football most years have legit basketball programs. Rutgers hasn't made the tournament since 1991.

Then you got all the sports that people forget exist like rowing, gymnastics, golf, swimming etc and most Big Ten teams are winning national titles in sports like that while Rutgers is shit at those too.

It's the 3rd biggest university in the state, helps further lock down Houston as an SEC recruiting ground, only marginally less attendance per game than TCU and Baylor, and they're really no more or less competitive than the other 2 most of the time despite being outside a P5 conference.

I'll feel bad for TCU fans if their school gets snubbed out of a P4 slot because they worked hard to finally get in one, but Baylor deserves everything that's coming to them because they bribed their way in to the Big 12 in the first place, and the school is dirty top to bottom in every single sport.

SDSU has literally only been relevant for exactly that long. Two years. A smaller school should only get recognition and consideration by power 5 conferences if they've been consistently winning over a large period of time.

The winningest team in the last 10 years of college football is Boise State. They also hold the NCAA record for consecutive games won, which is 24 straight. Their all time record is second in the FBS. They have the all time best home record, sittting at a pretty 92-4.

From 2002-2014, BSU had lost 10 games. For over ten years, they had not lost more than a single digit number of games. If this isn't a valid argument for a team to enter a more premier conference because of their long term performance, i don't know what is, my friend.

I feel like those numbers for salary are inherently skewed too. You're more likely to go to $C if your family has money for you to go there and that inherently means you're more likely to get a job that pays more.

On top of that, the film and theater programs at $C feed right into Hollywood, which also would get a better salary inherently.

Finally, since Texas is a public school and much larger, they spend less on placing students after they graduate in high paying jobs, but that doesn't necessarily detract from the quality of education given at the school.
