I enjoy football because it's a high energy game of chess, every single play players start at 0 and go to 100 because that's what those "breaks" allow. Every single down is a different struggle that players have to adjust to.

This is the thing I dislike the most about handegg.
Almost every single play is predetermined. The game just revolves around 2 teams doing pre determined plays and in the end the team who executed their plays the best wins.
Calling it chess-like is plain retarded, and actually the opposite of what it is.
As always, there are exceptions like, one team fucking up and leaving someone alone, or an opportunity to run etc.

But this is very very lacking in comparison with divegrass. The game is much, much more dynamic and there is a lot more to it than meets the eye. The way some teams attack and defend can be completely different, often opposites.
For example, the way Tottenham defends is completely different from Man Utd. Same for Chelsea and Liverpool. You can't say there is tactical variety or styles of play for handegg, they don't exist, it's all predetermined plays that are well executed or not.

The GREAT quarterbacks, VERY rarely just listen to the coach and run the play, they almost ALWAYS make changes before the play, whether that's shifting their offensive line based on what the defense is showing, or even changing the play completely, that's not a rarity, that's the norm.
Then during the play the quarter back can have upwards of 3 or 4 options to throw to, which he has to read and assess in about three seconds.
