I am a coach for a middle school/junior high football team. I mainly coach the offensive line and help call plays with the other offensive coach. I have been having trouble with some of the kids not understanding some of the concept plays with blocking. I know I didn't truly understand concept blocking plays till my freshmen years of high school, but I want to teach these kids now so they are better off in high school. Plays like the Iso are a big one on concept and power and also counter. They still manage to block it wrong up front no matter how much I drill it in their heads on which man they need to pick up. Can I get some pointers on how to teach concept blocking to middle school/junior high aged kids?
