Texas and OU were at their best when the Big 12 South was considered the toughest division in all of college football. If the college playoffs had existed in 2008, the Big 12 would have very likely sent 3 teams, and had a much greater chance of winning a championship.

I wasn't impressed with our O-line against Utep, they looked sloppy, however they did get what they wanted most of the time. Our defensive line was surprisingly soft, they didn't get nearly as much penetration as they should have. Our secondary was okay but UTEPs quarterback couldn't capitalize on the spacing that their recievers got sometimes...our secondary will probably make JT Barret look like an excellent deep ball thrower. Ohio State's secondary won't be a mediocre as they were against Indiana, Baker might be able to make the secondary pay because he can extend plays but Ohio State is faster so he probably won't be able to operate outside the pocket as well as normal. tOSU had lots of offense in the first half against Indiana, just no scores to show for it.

Hasn't been confirmed yet but apparently TaQuon Marshall will be starting for us tonight, not Matthew Jordan. I'm surprised, honestly, I fully expected Jordan to get the start and I was fine with that. He played well enough to beat VPI in Blacksburg last year. But reports from fall practices and scrimmages have been indicating that Jordan has regressed somewhat, and there was some excitement over Marshall.

Regardless, I fully expect that Jordan will see the field for any goal line or 3rd/4th and short plays.
